TV reviews - Geddy Lee Asks: Are Bassists Human Too? / John Lennon: Murder Without a Trial
This week I got to review two unscripted mini-series that both dropped recently on streamers.
Geddy Lee Asks: Are Bassists Human Too?
As the singer and bassist for Rush, Geddy Lee has amassed quite a cult following. They were a thinking man's rock trio where you literally felt smarter just for listening to them. I went through a serious Rush phase as a teen. I had heard their hits, but began buying their 70s CDs one by one. I even learned some of their songs when I was taking guitar lessons. 2112, their epic rock opera, is my personal fave of their discography. In 1996, I saw the band live at the Meadowlands in NJ. Fantastic live band too. Now, Lee is getting his own limited unscripted series Geddy Lee Asks: Are Bassists Human Too? which premiered on Paramount+ last week.

Produced by Banger Films and directed by Sam Dunn (who directed the Rush doc Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage as well as Super Duper Alice Cooper, and ZZ Top: That Little Ol' Band from Texas, this is sort of like Geddy Lee's version of a travel show, where a host visits a different location each episode, talks to a local (or many), and takes in the local food and culture. The four episodes that have been released are Lee speaking with Les Claypool of Primus and The Claypool Lennon Delirium, Robert Trujillo of Metallica, Melissa Auf der Maur of Hole and Smashing Pumpkins, and Krist Novoselic of Nirvana and 3rd Secret. Lee goes to their home, does activities with them and eventually talks and plays music with them. It is very much insider-baseball for musicians.
Lee is an engaging figure and a great host. All of these subjects so far have been bassists who came along after Rush and in some cases there was overlap between their band and Rush, but I think it might be interesting if the next season was bassists who pre-dated Rush. As a huge fan of Novoselic and Auf der Maur, and very familiar with Claypool and Trujillo, I of course was fully engaged in their rapport and conversation. Novoselic showing Lee his grange and flying with him on his plane is something I could watch all day! In some instances, it's Lee discovering things he hasn't done before like surfing with Trujillo. This is a cool show for music geeks, but beyond Paul McCartney the average person can't name too many bassists, so it's nice to see bassists talking shop and then some!

John Lennon: Murder Without a Trial
The December 8, 1980 murder of John Lennon outside his NYC apartment building at the hands of deranged "fan" Mark David Chapman is one of the great tragedies in that he was such a tremendous talent taken from us at age 40 way before his time. I was only about 4 when it happened, so I don't have any "where were you when Lennon was shot" memories (although I was into the Yellow Submarine movie). In later years as I got into The Beatles and Lennon's solo work, I saw many documentaries and specials about that tragedy. Not only was Lennon in a good place and happy with wife Yoko Ono and raising his 5 year-old son Sean, but he had just released a new album Double Fantasy, his first in five years and you got the sense it was the start of a big comeback. I've visited the Lennon memorial Strawberry Fields in Central Park many times. But I digress. The tragic murder is now a 3-part documentary mini-series John Lennon: Murder Without a Trial, which just premiered on Apple TV+.

Narrated by Kiefer Sutherland, this is a deep dive into the day of the murder (what Lennon was doing leading up to the assassination, what Chapman was doing), the investigation, the trial and outcome.
Anyone who reads this blog, knows I am a lifelong Beatle and Lennon fanatic. Just recently, I got to review the documentary The Lost Weekend: A Love Story about May Pang’s relationship with Lennon and I also got to review the re-release of The Beatles’ Red and Blue albums. So I went into this very familiar with the subject. The thing that impressed me most was the depth of interview subjects, i.e. cab drivers that night, police and law enforcement that night, Dakota employees and residents, hospital staff and more. Hearing their recollections and some of the archival footage are quite impressive. But the thing that Lennon fans needs to understand going into this is that this is more of a true crime doc than a music or celebrity doc. I say this because there are very few Lennon musical collaborators other than producer Jack Douglas, and Yoko and Sean are shown in archival footage. There have been some fantastic Lennon docs in the past, notably Imagine: John Lennon (possibly the best Lennon doc there's been), The U.S. vs. John Lennon, and LennoNYC. This one is very much looking into the crime itself, the legal ramifications and the outcome. Do not expect to learn much about Lennon himself here if you're a fan, but you might learn quite a bit about Chapman (not that you necessarily want to know more about that monster). As a documentarian I can appreciate this doc series, but as Lennon fan I wanted a little more about Lennon, his family and the recording he was doing at that time, and it only scratched that surface.

When Haechan got home, he didn’t expect you to look so sad. There are so many ways he can envision your welcome, anywhere from loud laughing to big bear hugs, but he would never expect you to be bent over and shaking.
When he left this morning, you were buzzing with energy, telling him about all your plans for the day and how excited you were for him to be back with you. Now, you were sat on the couch sniffling into a throw pillow—making no moves to acknowledge his arrival, shoulders shaking with your cries. In the back of his mind, he can hear the TV slowly letting out noise, but with your crushed look, eyes finally raising to meet his he ignores it, and slowly approaches, as if you were a wounded animal: and you might as well be with your glossy eyes and red cheeks, you look so small: his usually tough girl tiny by comparison.
“What’s wrong, honey? He asks when he finally gets to you, lowering himself to be eye level with you, “What happened, huh?” His head is turning like a confused puppy, looking at you with so much worry and affection you can’t help but cry more. You cry because he’s home and you missed him, you cry because the house is a mess and you promised you’d clean up, but most of all you cry because he’s being dumb and it’s obvious why you’re upset (or so you think).
“I—I don’t know, just my heart hurts for them you know?” Your voice is scratchy, showing him that you really must have been breaking down for quite a while. He wonders who you’re talking about, if he’s forgetting something about one of your friends or wasn’t listening when you told him something important, but nothing comes to mind.
“Who, baby? Who’s hurting?” At his confusion all you feel is annoyance, it’s obvious whose hurting, it would be right in front of his face if he just looked.
“Them! Hyuck look at the TV! this is so sad, they’re just so in love, but they can’t be.” And he does look, but all he sees is Enchanted playing on the television. Combined with your sobs is the soft playing of ‘So close’ as Giselle and Robert dance around the ballroom—and suddenly everything begins to make sense.
From the very beginning of your relationship, every time you’ve gotten your period you’ve been drawn to Enchanted like a moth to a flame. Needing to watch the love story and cry your eyes out, as he has to unfortunately watch. He can’t count how many times you’ve sadly announced it’s your time of the month and then promptly turned on the movie.
While he could be annoyed or bitter at the constant playing of sing-alongs, all he feels is endeared, so he quickly cuddles into your shaking figure. Hugging you with both arms and legs like a koala, hoping that his affection will somehow cure your blues. He gives you a series of wet kisses, laughing and cooing at how sweet you are to be a grown girl and still crying at Disney films.
“Oh, my baby, why didn’t you call me earlier? I would’ve come home to you.” And you know he’s telling the truth, if he had even a whiff of you being sad and alone and hurting, he would’ve rushed back with ice cream and flowers galore. He knows millions of people go through this every month, but he can’t stomach the thought of his Honey in pain—all alone with nothing and nobody but Disney plus to comfort you.
“I didn’t want to bother you, you’re so busy and I can watch this all by myself.” You’re putting on a front, looking bravely at him even as the tears flow freely from your eyes. Inside, you know that half the reason you’re crying is because you missed him. Usually, he’d be there to sit with you, laughing and cuddling you at all the right times, and if you were lucky and he was in a good mood he’d sing along to the music like a lullaby.
However, you understand he is a busy boy—his schedule filled up with several commitments that he can’t just walk out on, even if he would. There’s too many people relying on him, and you can’t call him every time your tummy hurts, and your hormones go crazy (even if the hurt feels like a knife repeatedly stabbing you all over your lower body and then laughing at you).
“My silly silly girl, I’m never too busy for you. I know I can’t do much but I’m sure cuddling you and remembering to bring you your pain killers is enough, right?” and it is. There’s something so lovely about him, even if it’s the bare minimum. Your boyfriend never shies away from these conversations, he thinks it’s important that he knows and appreciates everything about you. Even if he can’t fully understand—especially if he can’t understand.
Donghyuck’s love language is really just being obsessed with you, knowing the ins and outs of your everyday life, and loving you more for it. As he sits with you now, he can see fully what he missed before—the telltale signs of your period running its course—the pinch in your forehead and the deep eyebags, and parts of him do feel ashamed he’s only now picking up on it.
“I’m sorry your body and your heart hurts, my honey bear, let’s start the movie over and take a nap, huh? How does that sound?” and even though your nose scrunches at his cheesy nickname, and you know the movie will just make you cry again—you look at him and agree.
He's wrapped around you, and he smiles, hoping your body will benefit from his body heat pressing into yours, smacking kisses all over your face until you’re laughing, and his gentle pecks begin to miss. And you know He’ll hold you tight all day, warming you up from the inside. He’ll tell you he loves you; he’ll tell you over and over again if it helps the pain wash away. And you know if you ask to watch Enchanted again, he’ll put it on with no complaints and sing along with you.

Sorry I was planning to upload this over the weekend but only got to finish this today.
Enjoy!

Formula one cars zoom pass and one of them is yours. You’re in a hard battle with your teammate. Wheels have been barging and banging throughout the race. There are no team orders down in Aston Martin. It may be risky for you to keep fighting, but there is no good reason to stop fighting as you are locked in a tight battle for points.
This season has not been the easiest for you and this race. You have been gunning for that rookie of the year and your teammate isn’t making it easy for you.
“Tell Lance to fucking give me space. I’m faster than him.” You struggle to communicate with your engineer.
“Sorry, Lee Heon. He’s free to race you.”
“At this rate, we are going to crash.”
You continue to struggle your way on the track. Your teammate hasn’t been making things easy. But right before the long straight, you can get behind him within one second so you can activate DRS. Stroll’s lights are flashing, giving you some encouragement.
Oh here we go, he is out of juice.
You got to the late apex. He switches it around and he gets ahead but it doesn’t matter. You compromised his line and now you are in a better position for the long straight ahead. Your foot is flat to the floor, the ers button is set to overtake, then your rear wing gets opened.
Stroll is still ahead but not for long. The final advantage that you set up for yourself is the slipstream. Your boost allows you to push as close as you can. Then you swerve to the left. Stroll is defenseless as you pass by him. You can see him in your mirrors, he tries to tuck on your rear. He doesn’t have the DRS and juice that you had. But you notice he is close too close.
As you hit the breaking point and you slam on the brakes, you feel a large force hitting the rear of your car. Your head moves forward but your HANS device prevents you from getting whiplash. Your car spins around with your tires screeching on the black tarmac.
You are shocked to see Stroll’s bold move fail and he crashes on you. But his car is okay and just speeds on with his broken wing into the pits.
“Are you okay, Lee Heon? Are you okay?”
“Yeah, I’m fine.”
You undo your seatbelt, remove the steering wheel from the steering column and place it on your car. A marshal runs to you to assist you. You get out of the car and look at the damage.
You look around. It can’t be seen but you know that there are hundreds of cameras on you. Above you, you can hear the helicopter’s camera pointed at you. You just shake your head in disgust, remove your gloves from your hands, and walk away.
You get to the side of the track and wait for your pick-up.
As you wait there, you get to see the safety car lead the other cars around the track Stroll is still in the top ten.
Finally after what feels like forever. The medical car arrives. You get up as Dr. Ian Roberts rushes to you to take your vitals. It isn’t anything serious so you’re good.
He leads you to the medical car and back to the pit lane. Once you get there, you walk to your garage but try to avoid the media but covering your eyes with your visor and pushing them away from you. When you arrive at the garage, you slam your helmet on the table and angrily remove your racing suit. You attempt to punch the wall, but your trainer stops you from doing it.
“Calm down, bro. It’s just a race.” Your trainer tries to console you.
You look at him and glare. “Just a race?! Scoring points in my home Grand Prix is important to me!”
You put your hand on your head to cure the headache.
“Let me change.” You go to the hospitality suite to change into your team uniform.
You head back to the garage to see what’s happening to the race. All of the mechanics are seated on the chairs watching the race. You look around but then you see the team principal still on the pit wall. So, you head up to him.
“Ya! What was Lance doing? Is he crazy?!”
He looks at you. “Let’s talk about this at the debrief.”
You scoff at him and walk away. Lance’s father already owns the team. Whatever you say about him isn’t going to affect his seat.
At the end of the race, even with a five-second penalty, Lance was still able to finish p 8. You get furious at him and the result. It should have been you up there and not him. You might have even gotten a higher position.
You enter the conference room. Everyone is already there waiting for you. You get to your usual spot at the de-brief is about to start.
“So, points I guess. Just a few more then we will be challenging Alpine?” The head strategist starts the conversation.
You raise your hand. “Are we going to talk about how Lance rear-ended me? I think we need to talk about that.”
The team principal sighs. “Lance, don’t you have to say something?”
He stands up. “I’m sorry. Lee Heon.”
You reluctantly accept his apology.
Lance still has protection from his father who is very hands-on with his investment for his son. But you are just there to take all of it in. Drive faster than you’ll keep your seat with them.
The de-brief goes on as usual but in the end.
“Okay, everyone. Tonight there is going to be an event happening in Seoul. It’s a sponsored event so I expect everyone to go. Especially you, Lee Heon.”
You roll your eyes. Going to events isn’t something you thought Formula 1 drives will be doing. You signed up to live a dangerous life. The thrill of driving over 300 kph is what was on the job description. Media is something you never liked going but you have to accept the other side of the profession.
~~
You drive to the hotel where the event is hosted in your large Yamaha Motobike. It zooms in on the valet area. Your arms stretch as you enter the hotel. You turn off the engine and remove your helmet. You quickly toss the keys to the valet personnel and walk into the hotel.
The media quickly notices you and turn their camera pointed at you and your dashing suit. You just smile and wave at them. A small plastic smile that at least will get you thru the night. The security quickly moves in and clears you a path.
Your trainer is already waiting for you at the door.
“Sorry, I’m late.”
“Shut up. Just come with me.”
You give a good chuckle.
“What’s going to be in this event?” You ask him.
“To be honest. I don’t know. All I know is that the Team Principal will give a speech. I know how much you don’t like this. All you have to do is just sit and smile for the camera and the audience. Sign some autographs if necessary.”
He walks you to the table and he said just a couple of speeches happening. But you just smile and clap after each segment.
The host announces. “Good evening finally before we can serve dinner. May we welcome the newest K-pop sensation, Le Sserafim!”
You don’t know much about this K-pop group. As you have been listening to western artists and don’t know much about K-pop in general. So, another smile and clap.
~~
Once dinner ends, you tell your trainer that you need to go out for some air. You head out to the balcony and get out your pack of cigarettes and your lighter. There aren’t a lot of people in the area. So, you just pick one from the pack and put it in your mouth. But before you can light it up. A pair of fingers grabs it and tosses it aside.
“Ya! Do you not know smoking is bad for you?” A lady scold you.
“Mind your own business.” You take another but before you can take one out. She grabs it and tosses it in the trash.
“Ya! Why did you do that?” You run to the trash, but you already see that it is ruined inside the can.
“There is a pregnant woman over there. You cannot smoke here.”
You roll your eyes away from her. “So, who are you?”
“Well if you don’t know I’m Kazuha.”
“Kazuwho?”
“Kazuha! Of Le Sserafim. Didn’t you see us perform?”
“Ah! Le Sserafim. Sure.”
“And you who might be?”
“Me? F1’s newest sensation, Lee Heon. Probably something you should know.”
“Jeeez, self-centered much?”
“Well, it is true, isn’t it? Why else are we hosting this event.”
“Sheesh. You don’t have to think of yourself like that.”
“Why? Can’t I?”
“Well, if the only thing you are thinking is yourself then maybe you shouldn’t be one.”
“What!?”
Kuzaha looks you straight in the eyes. “Well, if you’re going to continue to be like then. You aren’t going to make many friends.”
You throw your arms at her. “Fuck off.” Instead of diving into more of this conversation, you head back into the event before you get can get back.
Kazuha shouts out. “I’m right. Ain’t I?”
You get back to your table and sit beside your trainer again.
“How was your ‘air’?”
“Shut the fuck up. There is the Kazuwho who just threw my cigarettes.”
“Kazuha. You should know them. They’re famous. Maybe more famous than you.”
“Whatever.” You scoff back at your trainer and lean in your chair to just soak in the rest of the event.
Once it ends, you immediately head out of the venue to go back to your hotel room to get away from the media. When you get to the main driveway. You see this girl frantically on her phone.
You get a closer look and it’s Kazuha. First, you call the valet to get your motorbike then turn up on her.
“So, you got left behind?”
“Go away.” She gets on her phone once more. But there is no signal in the area so she cannot call anyone. “Ugh. Pick up!”
“Need a ride?”
“From you? Never!”
“Well good luck to you if you are just going to stay here and get stranded.”
The valet arrives with your bike. You look at Kazuha once more. “Last chance.”
She rolls her eyes. “Fine. Just drop me off in the city where I can call my manager.”
You put on your helmet. “Hold on.” You open the compartment behind you and toss her the spare helmet.
“Tell me if it fits.”
You go to the back compartment and take out the spare helmet that you stored there and toss it to Kazuha. “Try it.”
She puts it on. “Ugh Fine.”
“Then, get on.”
You put on your helmet as Kazuha gets on your bike. Then you speed off into the distance.
Since it is late at night you can go as fast as you can without getting caught. You dive thru traffic, weaving in and out.
Kazuha holds on to your tight. Her arms wrap around your waist. “You idiot slow down!”
You chuckle and pull the throttle to get the bike going even faster.
Kazuha screams. “You’re crazy stop right now!”
You get on the brake and screech the tires on the road to get to a complete stop. You remove your visor to see the lights of downtown.
“Woah. I could never think a city can be this pretty.”
Kazuha gets off the bike and removes the helmet. A fit of fuming anger grows in her then her hand slaps your shoulder. “You shouldn’t be going that fast. The speed limit doesn’t say 100 kph.”
You remove the helmet and then turn to Kazuha. “Don’t you notice the lights?”
She gets a break from hitting you and looks above. The lights are shining in her eyes. “Well, it’s nice but still not as nice as you are breaking the speed limit.” She returns to hitting on you.
“Ow. Ow. Ow. Okay, I’m sorry. I’m sorry.”
“You owe me something.”
You turn to the right and notice that there is a McDonald’s beside you. “You want ice cream?”
Kazuha turns her head to see the golden arches and ponders. “You’re paying for me, right?”
You sigh. “Yes…”
Kazuha walks up the steps and you park your bike. One inside, the air-conditioned interior is bright, clean, and plush. Something uncommon in a McDonald's but since it’s late at night maybe that’s why it is so spotless with the diligence of the hardworking staff of the branch.
“Hello, welcome to McDonald’s. What would you like for tonight?”
“Just two hot fudge sundaes. Anything else?”
“Two apple pies.” You carefully order.
“Okay, we’ll call you when it’s ready.” She hands you your number before you and Kazuha find an empty seat in a very empty fast-food restaurant.
“So, tell me how is it being an F1 driver?” Kazuha asks curiously.
“Well, driving is the fun part. Going down circuits like Monaco, Monza, and Spa. All amazing circuits.”
“Really, have you won anything?”
“Hey, it’s my rookie year. It isn’t like I’m in a good car.”
“Maybe you aren’t just fast.” Kazuha chuckles.
“Ya! I’m fast. I just need to prove myself. When I get to a Mercedes or a Ferrari. I’ll show you. I’ll bring you right in the paddock and you’ll see me win.”
“Are you already inviting me to watch?”
“What! Oh…well yeah. I mean why not?”
“You really don’t have any friends to invite, do you?”
“Shut up!”
Suddenly the speakers sound. “Order for Lee Heon.”
You quickly end the conversation and run to the counter.
“Here’s your food.” The lady gives you.
Once you return, you see Kazuha signing an autograph for someone.
You get slightly annoyed as you haven’t really gotten asked to sign something by someone outside events.
“So, you’re really famous?” You slowly lay down the tray.
“I don’t want to toot my horn but yeah.”
“Damn, I was never asked by someone for an autograph like this.”
“Really?”
“I mean yeah sure during Grand Prix or events but when I walk around, I don’t get spotted.”
“It isn’t as nice as you think. Sometimes you cannot go anywhere. But now? Since it’s late no one is around.”
“Hmmm anyway dig in. I got you ice cream and apple pie.”
Like as she knows how, Kazuha places her apple pie on the ice cream and starts indulging in it. You smile as you eat with her. You never expected it to be nice to eat late-night snacks with someone you haven’t met for a while.
Once your desserts are finished, you look at her. “Do you want to call your manager…”
Kazuha raises her eyebrows.
“…. or wanna ride around my bike again?”
“I already asked him. He said he can pick me up in the morning.”
Your eyes light up and drag Kazuha with you. She straps on her helmet and helps you with yours. Now you just casually drive around Seoul, appreciating the different city lights. Occasionally, Kazuha taps on your shoulder to show you some landmarks around the area. The city at night is calming. You never knew how much the night as ever been like this.
You end up at a hill outside the city skirts. There is a skyline in the distance.
“So, Kazuha, is this a date?”
She looks at you with her hair slightly blown in the wind. “I guess. What? Are you my boyfriend now?”
“Depends, do you want to?”
She turns to you, stepping one foot at a time, then once close to you, where she can feel her breath. Her eyes blink and her hand lands on your chest. “Your heart is beating fast. Should I be concerned?”
“No” You use your hand to hold her head still as you kiss her on the lips.
She doesn’t push you back but hugs you tighter, pulling you even closer.
Once the kiss ends, your foreheads rest on each other.
“I guess we’re dating.” Kazuha asks.
“Now are we going to take this further?”
“Sure.” Kazuha’s eyes light up but get concerned.
“Kazuha, what’s the matter?”
“I want to do it well even with you. But…it’s going to be my first time.”
“Kazuha, I’ll only do it if you want to do it. Tell me do you want to have sex with me?”
“Hmm.” Kazuha nods. “Just tell me what to do.”
You get back to your bike and speed to your hotel. Once more a valet would take your bike while you and Kazuha skip your way to your room. When alone on the elevator ride, you pull Kazuha closer to you and kiss her on the lips again like when you did a while ago.
Kazuha playfully pushes you away. “Aren’t you excited?”
“Well, no girl I was with has ever been this beautiful.”
Kazuha blushes.
“Well, aren’t you excited?”
Once the elevator arrives at your floor, you escort her to your room. Kazuha runs to the windows overlooking the city. You walk slowly removing your coat and your ties.
“Yeah, that’s why I took this room. I like the view. It’s always peaceful to watch the city skyline.”
“So now, Oppa.” Kazuha inches closer and closer to you. “Are we going to do what we wanted to do?” she tries to show off her sexy side.
“You’re so cute. Let me show you how it’s done.”
You kiss and push her onto the bed. Her hands roll up your shirt and her skin is feeling your upper body. Your own hands and undoes the button of your pants. Kazuha starts to remove each button from your shirt, leaving your shirt open for her to enjoy.
Kazuha turns you around as she is on top of you. She sits on you and removes her shirt. There you can see her small petite frame a bra casing her small breast but with a fully developed midriff.
“Sheesh.”
“Only you can see this.”
Kazuha puts her hands on her back and with one swift move, her bra falls off.
“I thought you are a beginner?”
“I may never have sex but at least I have seen some videos about it. Now, let me?”
Kazuha goes down between your legs and removes the rest of your pants. Now what’s left is your boxer briefs before the prize of what’s underneath. She slowly peels off the barrier and out sticks out is your rock-hard cock, not huge like what porn would show but it is sizeable.
With her hand slowly stroking it, Kazuha is mesmerized. She cannot actually believe she is seeing a cock in real life. Her eyes are wide open and is focusing on it and it only. She gives a quick lick to see what it tastes like.
“Kazuha….”
“Call me Zuha.”
“Zuha… if you want, put it in your mouth.”
She snaps out of the trance and slowly engulfs it with her mouth. Her wet cave welcomes the long cock. Her tongue plays with it. It circles around it. The sensation of her rough taste buds on your cock tickles it.
“Are you sure it’s your first time?”
“Maybe I’m just that talented.”
You lean back your head. Your lower regions are already weakening to the immense pleasure that Kazuha is forcing upon you. “Kazuha….Zuha…..”
Kazuha pops her head off your cock. “Hmm?”
“You’re so good.”
She gets off you and moves closer to your face. “That’s good.”
“It’s like I don’t need to teach you anything. But anyway, let me show you something.”
You get off the bed and pull Kazuha to ward you. “Quick, on the bed.” She gets on the bed on all fours. You remove the button on her pants with her underwear to her ankles. Kazuha kicks away her clothes, leaving her fully naked.
You touch her wet pussy with your fingers. A gentle rub on her increasingly wetter pussy. You slowly insert your middle finger inside. There inside is the pulsating pink flesh inside Kazuha. You push in and pull out every second, going in and out repeatedly. Then your ring finger joins. Kazuha almost screams but is only stiffed by her mouth. Most intense motions are now inside her. You move faster and harder.
Kazuha bites her lips as she cannot handle the immense pleasure. You pull out of her pussy and out comes your drenched fingers. She looks back at you. To impress her you suck your two fingers, and all the love juice soaked on your fingers.
“Now, Zuha. Let me bring you the main course.”
You give a quick slap on Kazuha’s dripping folds. Then with the tip of your cock, tease her before you fully impale her with your cock. First, you slowly push inside. It goes a quarter way in, then half, and finally goes balls deep. Then you slowly pull out.
While all this Kazuha was anxiously waiting for you to enter her. First, her face shows pain when your first enter but immense satisfaction afterward. Your hands get a gentle grip on Kazuha’s waist. Her soft skin matches her white complexion.
You speed up your thrust. Each push getting harder. Kazuha tries to take it all in. Her hand grabs the sheets, she bites her lips, and her feet curl. Kazuha tries to stifle her moans but, in the end, fails so she lets out a loud scream of pleasure. Never had you thought that you could hear such an innocent-looking girl get so wild.
Your skin slaps on hers. Her waist perfectly fits the shape of your pelvis, a snug fit. You let out gentle moans. You take the innocence out Kazuha. The shyness and the elegance now are gone.
You slow down to a complete stop. Kazuha tries to slow down her heavy breaths. But instead, you toss her around, now you are face to face with Kazuha.
“Zuha, let’s do this slowly. Sorry I was a little rough.”
“Nah it’s okay. Do what you want.”
“I’ll show you more another time. I just want to ask you one question.”
“Hmmm?”
“Where do you want me to cum?”
“Cum? You mean your semen?”
You chuckle for a second. “Yeah, my semen.”
“Ummm. Just don’t make me pregnant.”
You smile at her. “Don’t worry. I’ll take care of you.”
Now you go back to your cock. You realign your tip on Kazuha’s entrance. Like before you go in gently, first with the tip, teasing her. You look back at Kazuha’s anticipated expression. She braces for another round of your long shaft. It dives back in and resumes the thrust that was like a while ago.
You go in and out faster and faster. Like before Kazuha’s expression is a mix of pain, pleasure, excitement, and fear. Not knowing what you’ll do next but it is to enjoy every second of it.
Your hands rest on either side of her chest. Her small breast jiggle in the motions. Kazuha yells out. Her screams of joy fill the room. But to silence her, you kiss her on the lips. A passionate kiss with the hard and rough act of taking her whole.
Faster and faster, it goes, you go down from her lips to her neck. You kiss it and suck on it but try your best to not leave a hickey. Your hand gets a handful of her breast. Your finger twirl, pinch and play with her nipple.
With her mouth free, Kazuha gaps for breaths. Her screams are getting louder from all the pleasure she is feeling. All of these feelings Kazuha is experiencing are encouraging you to do more. The more Kazuha feels good. It feels like it is transferring it to you.
But then you can feel it. Your legs get weak. Your shaft wants to throb. You quickly pull out and point your cock to Kazuha’s breast. All of your sticky, white liquid is all over her breast. Round after round spews out of your cock.
After running dry you drop to the bed and lay beside her.
“Oh my gosh, that was so good,” Kazuha exclaims. She takes a sample of your cum and sniffs it. “What should I do with this?”
“Just clean yourself. Unless you want to lick it all?”
She glares at you and then smiles. She jumps off the bed and walks to the bathroom to clean herself. You scoot over to your phone and check the time.
“Zuha, right you said your manager is going to fetch you in the morning?”
“Hmm.”
“Wanna spend the night?”
She comes out of the bed, still naked, and runs to lay beside you.”
“Sure.” She kisses you on the lips. “Just on one condition.”
“What?”
“As much as I like you, you know I’m an idol.”
“Yeah?”
“We have to keep this a secret.”
“Okay, Zuha. I’ll do anything for you.”
“Anything?”
“Anything.”

You looked up from a pile of fabric samples. “I can’t pick.”
Phoenix shot you a look over her champagne glass. “White.”
You rolled your eyes. “They’re all white, Natasha. It’s a wedding dress.”
“The venetian lace is gorgeous,” the saleswoman said, holding up a gauzy square.
“Too expensive.”
“There’s always satin.”
She said it like it was trash and not already too expensive. “Let’s see some satin options,” you said. The saleswoman bristled but rushed off when Pheonix trained her eyes on her.
“Fuck her,” she said and you laughed, settling back into the chair and taking a sip of champagne. “OK you’re drinking, but I’m going to ask you again. Are you pregnant?”
“I promise I’m not,” you replied.
She raised an eyebrow. “Find that hard to believe given the timeline.” She meant the fact that the wedding was in a week.
You shrugged. “We’ve never slept together.”
Phoenix did a spit take, champagne flying everywhere across the cream carpet. You tried to stifle a gasp that barreled into a laugh until the two of you were dissolved in laughter. “Oh, my God, the boys are gonna have a field day with that one.”
“Just hasn’t been the time,” you replied.
“What’s the rush?” Phoenix asked. “If there’s no pregnancy. What’s the rush?”
The truth sat, sour, on the tip of your tongue. Was that where sour was felt on the map of taste buds? Either way it filled your mouth, threatening to swallow you whole. You could tell her. You could tell her and the wedding would be off and you would go home with nothing but a bruised ego and a foreclosure on the way.
But that option also left Bob heartbroken. It would leave you heartbroken, too. Because as much as you didn’t want to admit it, you were falling for Bob Floyd, all over again.
“I love him,” you said simply. This time, the truth was sweet. A rush of rainbow on your tongue. A fizzy, familiar feeling. Warmth. “I always have.”
“I’ve watched Floyd go through a lot,” Phoenix said, her dark eyes never leaving yours. “But if this is what breaks him, I’m not sure there’s going to be a way to glue him back together. So don’t break his heart, Haley. He has a big one. Too big. He loves too much and too fast and too well. So God, don’t hurt him.”
“I won’t,” you whispered.
***
“You want deviled eggs as an appetizer?” You stared at Bob, mouth agape.
He nodded. “They’re my mom’s specialty.”
“Oh. That’s um…”
Bob laughed. “You can veto, Haley. It’s your wedding, too.”
“Thank God,” you whispered. “I’m sorry, but veto.”
“Are your parents flying up?” he asked.
“Um, no, they’re not.” You didn’t have the heart to tell him that your parents weren’t really involved in your life anymore. That no one besides Calvin even knew you were in San Diego. That the bakery was failing. That you were going to marry Bob to solve all of your problems. “Grandma Lee is coming though.”
You had called her the night before and explained that you were getting married. You hadn’t invited her: that she had done herself.
If my only granddaughter is getting married, I need to see it with my own eyes, she had said. When you had protested, she added, Do you want the money or not?
Bob frowned. “Grandma Lee, really? I thought you two didn’t get along.”
You shrugged. “That was a long time ago, Bobby.”
“Yeah, I guess.”
The two of you were silent for a moment. You felt sweat start to prickle at the base of your neck, between your breasts. For a few days, Bob had ridden the high of a successful mission once they were back on land. It was that euphoria that had colored everything, that had made him agree to the marriage. But you worried that once those rosy glasses faded, he would realize how obscene it was to marry a complete stranger. Someone he barely knew.
He cleared his throat. “Want to go out for dinner? I was thinking Mexican.”
“I think we should have sex.”
Bob looked like he was choking. Every inch of his face went pink and then a deep red, cheeks puffed out, eyes wide.
You actually leaned forward, pressing one hand to his leg in concern. “Bobby? Are you OK?”
It took a second, but Bob let out his breath, blue eyes still searching yours frantically. “What did you just say?”
You removed your hand, anxiety settling into the swell of your stomach. “I mean, we’re getting married,” you whispered. “Shouldn’t we at least do it once?”
“Peanut,” Bob whispered, his voice rough and sandy and hitting every note perfectly so that goosebumps rose on your arms and legs. “I’ve thought about making love to you a million times.”
“But?”
He shook his head slowly. “That’s what I want, honey. I want it to be special. Not something we do to get it out of the way. I want you to want it. I want this to be the last time someone new undresses you for the first time.” Bob leaned in, trailing one thumb over the corner of your mouth, down your cheek, fingertips sliding to the tops of your breasts, grazing the exposed skin where your shirt stopped. “I don’t want anyone else to ever touch you like this,” he murmured. “You’re mine, Peanut.”
“Bobby,” you whispered, gripping both sides of his face with your smaller palms. “I’ve always been yours.”
And then your lips were on his, one of your legs slung over his lap until you were straddling him, the heat of Bob’s body burning against yours, his hands groping greedily over your back, pulling your hips flush with his, a small, pathetic whine exiting his lips as his hips tilted up to meet yours. “Haley,” he rasped, pulling back, lips pink and raw. “Honey.”
“Hmm?”
“Let me take you out,” he whispered. “Not Mexican food on a couch. Not pizza on the floor or beer at the beach. A real date. Let me take you home and make love to the woman who is going to be my wife.”
You leaned back, threading your fingers through the hair that was curling up at the tops of his ears. “OK, Bobby,” you replied softly. “You have a deal.”
“That’s the first time I’ve said that,” he said.
“Said what?”
“My wife.” He smiled. “It sounds good, doesn’t it?”
“Yeah,” you murmured, watching the light twinkle in his eyes and feeling a sadness sweep over your organs., “it does.”
***
“Peanut?” Bob’s voice was far away on the phone. “Are you there?”
“I’m here,” you said, standing in front of the mirror, smoothing down the sides of your dress. “Where are you? Our reservations are in twenty minutes.”
“Honey, I’m sorry.” There was a loud bang in the background. “Flight emergency. Bradshaw and I got called back to base.”
“Oh.” You couldn’t help the disappointment flooding every single one of your pores. You looked around the room at the candles you had bought, and the bag filled with tissue paper on the dresser that had a new set of lingerie in it, specifically for later that night. There was also an entire can of whipped cream in the fridge and a bottle of prosecco. “That’s OK.”
“It’s not,” he said. “That’s why Phoenix is on her way to pick you up.”
“Oh, Bobby, I’m not really in the mood to go out without you.”
“Haley? Sorry the connection is terrible. Listen, I have to go up in the air, I’ll text you when I’m grounded. Bye!” The line went dead. You sighed, kicking off your heels, tossing the phone on the bed just as the doorbell rang, two harsh dings followed by a loud knock.
“Fuck, coming!” You practically tripped on your way to the door, tossing it open, a frown lacing your features. “Jake?”
In the doorway, Jake grinned, white teeth blinding against his tan. He leaned one hand against the door frame. “Hi Princess. Grab some shoes.”
You shook your head, walking inside, and Jake followed you, shutting the door softly. “Not in the mood, Hangman. I’m just going to wait until Bobby gets home.”
He chuckled and you turned around with a frown. “Sweetheart,” he drawled, “it’s a trap. This is your bachelorette party. Now put on some shoes and get that fine ass in the car. Phoenix is waiting for us.”
“Bachelorette party?”
“Didn’t think we could let you get married without one final night of debauchery, did you?” he asked. “Shoes, Nichols. Purse. Condoms if you’re feeling frisky.”
You groaned, heading into the bedroom and slipping on your stilettos, grabbing your small shoulder bag before reappearing in the hallway. Jake was nowhere to be seen. You rounded the corner into the kitchen where Jake had the fridge open, his head stuck inside.
He straightened up, holding out the can of whipped cream with a raised eyebrow. “Making pie?”
“Fuck off,” you muttered and he laughed, placing the can back in the fridge and closing the door. “Let’s get this over with.”
“That’s the spirit,” Jake replied, holding open the door. “After you, Mrs. Floyd.” Your heart skipped a beat. You looked up at Jake, eyes wide. For a second, the two of you stood in silence in the doorway to Bob’s house, practically frozen. You were worried Jake could see the reservation in your features.
And then it passed. You stepped out the door into the breezy evening air. “I’m going to ask you one favor.”
“I make no promises.”
“No shots with gross names like blow job or slippery nipple.”
Jake cackled, opening the passenger door for you. “It’s your night. We’ll play by your rules. At least, to start.”
You slid into the seat of his Jeep and groaned.
***
Charleston was bachelorette capital, aside from Nashville, so you were more than familiar with the flocks of women parading down King Street in pink sashes and swaying to the beat of invisible pop songs.
What you hadn’t expected was your own bachelorette party to be made up of five aviators, four of which were men. Coyote, Hangman, Rooster and Payback all sat at a table wearing pink furry boas drinking margaritas while Phoenix did a lap on stage with one of the drag queens.
“You’re next,” Bradley said, tipping his head toward the stage.
You groaned. “Absolutely not.”
Phoenix climbed off the stage, brushing back her dark hair, not an ounce of sweat on her face. “Come on, Princess, you’re the bride, it’s a must.”
“I’m so going to rat on you guys to Bobby!” you shrieked as a man dressed as Dolly Parton dragged you onto the stage. The brightness of the lights hit you just as the dagger’s cheers filled the air.
“Hello Darlin’,” Dolly said, thrusting a microphone in your face. “Your friend over there said you’re a bride-to-be, is that right?”
You scowled down at Phoenix who cheered shamelessly. “Yes.”
“What’s your name, sweetheart?” “Haley.”
“And what’s your fiance's name?”
“Bobby.”
“Well, dear, I think we need to sing a song for Bobby in that case.” She took a deep breath. “If I should stay // Well I would only be in your way.”
Dolly pressed the microphone beneath your chin. Somehow the words floated out of your mouth as the cheers from the squad grew. Even the heat of the lights softened and you found yourself swaying with the music. For the first time in a long time, there was a courage that bubbled to the surface. Maybe it was the two Long Island iced teas that Phoenix had poured down your throat. Or maybe it was the fact that despite the circumstances, you knew that Bob Floyd was the one.
Out of everyone, it was Bradley who got so drunk that the six of you were thrown out of the club. That’s how you ended up at Phoenix’s house at three in the morning eating cheeseburgers on the floor wearing a sequined ball gown she had pulled out of her closet and insisted you wear while Payback tried uselessly to scrub the pink paint off of his chest that read Bride Tribe in loopy lettering.
“It’s not coming off,” Payback whined, tossing another crumpled paper towel on the ground in a huff.
Jake cackled. “Told you not to write it so big, Nix.”
Phoenix popped a french fry into her mouth and then laid back, head resting against Jake’s thigh where he sat pressed up against the couch. “He deserves it. Remember when he puked at my thirtieth?”
“Don’t say puke,” Bradley moaned, looking slightly green around the gills.
“Party pooper,” Phoenix tutted.
“What if when I have a baby it comes out wearing glasses?” you asked, the drinks finally hitting you.
“Have to have sex to get pregnant.”
“Phoenix!”
“Oh shit.” She rolled over and buried her face against the shaggy rug. “Sorry!”
Jake grinned like a Cheshire cat. “Wait, you and Floyd haven’t banged yet?”
You groaned, tossing yourself against the floor next to Phoenix and kicking her with one bare foot.
“That’s excellent,” he muttered, practically to himself as Bradley scuttled onto his knees, stumbling up into a semi jog toward the toilet. The sound of the door slamming was followed immediately by violent sounds and you winced.
“Fuck,” Payback said, shaking his head. “That’s on you, Nix.”
“Why am I to blame for everything?” Phoenix demanded. “It’s Haley’s bach party, she’s the instigator!”
“Oh my God,” you said, shaking your head. “I see why Bobby likes you so much.”
“I see why he loves you,” she replied, brown eyes wide. You were stunned. Natasha was many things. The life of the party. Fearless, bordering on reckless. Demanding, in the best way. Formidable. But this was the first time she had shown a sliver of approval. It radiated through your body like microwave rays. “I mean it,” she added.
“Thank you.”
Just then, your phone rang on the coffee table. You reached for it, pulling it down as Bob’s contact flashed on the screen. “Haley?”
“Hi,” you whispered, standing up and stumbling into Phoenix’s room at the end of the hall. You sat down on the edge of her bed, closing your eyes. The room was spinning. That was worse. You opened them again, wider, the yellow light from the lamp burning your retinas. God, you needed a taco.
“Just wanted to make sure you got home OK,” Bob said softly.
“I’m with Phoenix and the team.”
“I know,” Bob replied. “I thought it would be nice.”
You frowned. “This was your idea?”
“I wanted you to have a fun time,” Bob said quietly. “Something different, a little out of the ordinary. Life is serious, Haley. But you don’t have to be. Not everything is life or death.”
Bob’s words forced tears to spring at the corner of your eyes. It wasn’t the tequila and it wasn’t the impending hangover. It was the fact that even in your drunken haze, you knew you weren’t good enough for Bob Floyd. A man who cared so much, so deeply. A man who would lay down his life for yours without thinking.
The man of your dreams.
“Bobby,” you whispered, the truth sour at the tip of your tongue, begging to be spilled.
“Get some rest, Peanut,” he said quietly and you swallowed the truth back into the bitter pit of your stomach. “I’ll pick you up in the morning, OK?”
“Alright.”
He paused, but the line didn’t go dead. You sucked in a breath. There were two things that you and Bob had yet to do as adults. The first was obvious: have sex. The second, less so.
You had yet to say you loved each other.
You did. That was, without a doubt, the truth in a sea of lies. You had loved Bob Floyd since you were a little girl in the low country. You had never really stopped. But it felt different, to say it now. When so much was riding on the two of you. When the future was almost within grabbing distance.
“Goodnight, Bobby,” you murmured.
He sighed. “Goodnight, sweetheart.”
You flopped back against the bed, clutching your phone to your chest. As you closed your eyes, the light beyond your eyelids started to swirl.
The last thing that crossed your mind before you passed out into a drunken delirium was how devastated Bob was going to be when everything was said and done.
And how broken you would be, too.

HAPPY 71ST BIRTHDAY TO GEDDY LEE!!!!!!
OH, and it's the 50th anniversary of Neil Peart joining Rush!!!!!
As with every year on their birthdays, I am doing my Rushathon, in which I attempt to listen to every single Rush album in chronological order from the debut to Clockwork Angels, and this year, in honor of this occasion, I will be live blogging the most formative albums of their career (imo)!!!! This will probably be the debut, Fly By Night, 2112, A Farewell to Kings/Hemispheres (probably in one post), Moving Pictures, Power Windows, Counterparts, Vapor Trails, and Clockwork Angels. Currently, I have started on the debut, and I will posting this after I finish the first one with a review of every single Rush song I listen to today!!!! So, the track list for the debut, which is famously the only album that doesn't have Neil on drums and lyrics, we have: 1. "Finding My Way"- What a goddamn opener!!! I mean, you can hear Robert Plant's influence on Geddy's vocals as he croons the high "oooh yeah"s, but what a way to start a career! I think it's nice that this and the final song on Clockwork Angels have this theme of "finding my way back home".
2. "Need Some Love"- This song certainly has a catchy chorus, but otherwise I don't think it stands out too much, other than continuing the vibe of the album. 3. "Take A Friend"- I like the concept of the song, even if some of the lyrics make me cringe a little ("Take yourself a friend/ whether woman or man"), but I can forgive those because Geddy literally had to write down the lyrics from the best of his memory the night before he needed to record the album because John Rusty ripped up the lyric sheets. 4. "Here Again"- Once again, not super fond of the lyrics, but Geddy's vocals on this track are just stellar, and the song reminds me of the post-battle section on "By-Tor and the Snow Dog" on the following album. It's got a nice, slow, heavy swing to it, and Alex's solo is extremely well-crafted. I think this song is sort of a precursor to a lot of their other work in the 70s. It's also the longest track on the album, coming in at 7 minutes and 34 seconds, 24 seconds longer than Working Man. 5. "What You're Doing"- Immediately I'm taken in by the riff, which is also inspired by Zeppelin, but it has a distinctively Rush tint. And even if the riff is inspired by British blues rockers, the singing doesn't seem to be on this track. And then there's the chromatic breakdown before it goes back into the chorus that is also reminiscent of what they would be doing on the next album on "By-Tor and the Snowdog". Already you can hear some of their prog tendencies! The solo is still definitely a bit of a Zeppelin-esque pastiche, but not a bad one. And I can also hear some other influences in the playing of the solo. 6. "In the Mood"- "Hey baby it's a quarter to eight/ I feel I'm in the mood" are lyrics Rush fans have been making fun of for decades, but despite the cringe lyrics, this is a very fun song! There's a reason why they kept it as a closer throughout the 70s. It's one of the simpler songs on the album, and by any other band, it would probably have been a hit. 7. "Before and After"- This soft opener with harmonics is sort of reminiscent of the ending of "The Necromancer" to me, another sort of look into the near future of their prog career. This song has a gorgeous opening, and I don't know I keep forgetting about it. The build into the main riff and verse is also just fantastic. There's this bit where Geddy and Alex drop out for a few seconds before coming back in with this heavy riff, and it's just sublime.
8. "Working Man"- This is the one that perhaps you've all been waiting for. This is the song that broke Rush over into America--- with some help from Donna Halper, of course! This song was played on almost every tour, and was the last song Rush ever played live together on August 1st, 2015. The riff is simply heavy, with lyrics pining for a better life. The song starts of slow, and slowly goes into a fast breakdown that seems to me to represent how life seems to slip right by as you get older. The song also just rocks. The breakdown has an amazing solo, some incredible bass playing (my biggest concern), and some solid time-keeping work from Rutsey (later improved upon by his successor, of course!). Stay tuned for Fly By Night!!!!

Chapter Six - Prayers
Chapter Six - Prayers
—-
1996-
Late last night, Misty had heated up the blade of the axe she used to cut Coach Ben’s leg off, and pressed it to his wound. He screamed for only a moment, before it tapered off- stopping abruptly.
When you got up to check if he was still alive, Misty was wrapping the new burned wound on his leg, and his breathing was harsh and heavy, but he was breathing.
With the silent forest, save the crackling of the fire and the sounds of the wilderness, you eventually fell asleep- telling yourself that morning will come, and so will rescue.
When you woke up, there was no rescue, and all of the girls whispered that it would simply come later in the day.
In the meantime, the grave digging started.
They weren’t finished until noon, using scrap bits of metal from the plane as shovels. Everyone stands around the small plot of graves, marked by pieces of metal with names drawn in marker.
You wonder faintly if that’s what they would have wanted.
Now, the earth is freshly scared with the imprint of the bodies, raising up the soil, but soon- the scars will fade. The ground will level out again. And besides for the metal marking the graves- no one would know they’re there.
“Before we took off,” Van starts, staring at the grave right in front of her, “I heard Rachel say that she was going to see Oasis at the Meadowlands next month. She was really excited. And she’s never gonna hear “Wonderwall” again.”
You can’t help but dig your feet into the ground, the tip of your Converse making a small indent in the soft soil. You thought back to what Shauna said to Javi. Is it really like sleeping? Does the dirt feel like a blanket? Are they warm? Cold?
“Come on,” Laura Lee says after a moment. “Let’s join hands.”
Squished between two freshmen, you hold out your hands, and the two girls on either side of you tenderly intwine their hands with yours.
“We’ll pray for them,” she says, and you almost smile- because what else would you expect from Laura Lee?
Slowly, all of the girls follow suit, grabbing hands, closing their eyes.
“Rachel,” Laura Lee starts, “You just moved up from JV, so we didn’t really know you. But, in Trig, you never confuses your secants and your cosecants. You seemed really smart. Anyone else?”
“I saw her carry a flute case once,” Van rushes out.
“Oh, Lord, please accept Rachel Goldman into your arms so that she may fill your kingdom with music.” She licks her lips, and blinks harshly. “Please accept Coach Martinez into your glory, too, and flight attendant Janet, pilot Robert, pilot Fred. Even thought I walk through the valley of the shadow of death…”
The world seems to fade out, and you faintly remember the funeral your mother had taken you too, the open casket, the eerie stillness of the body of a woman you never knew. But she knew you.
Your mother had told you not to be scared of death. But she had never been to the wilderness before.
“The Lord is my salvation. Whom shall I fear? The Lord is my strength. Whom shall I fear?”
“I’m going for a walk,” Tai announces suddenly, letting go of the others hands, walking towards the forest, away from the graves.
And soon, everyone followed suit, their hands dropping.
—-
“This is all we have?” one of the girls asks, a group gathered around the small collection of food and drinks the flight attendant was giving out.
“Yeah. We gotta ration,” Van says. She studies the small collection, before glancing at Shauna. “Okay. Cut them,” she says, leaving the knife next to the food. “Split this water,” she says to another girl, giving her a plastic water bottle.
“Well,” Jackie starts, looking at a small chocolate covered treat Shauna had given to her, “Maybe we can find something in the forest. I saw some berries-”
You perk up. “What did they look like?”
Jackie frowns. “Uh… they looked like little oranges.”
“Oh, no, you can’t eat those.” Everyone looks at you, confused and curious. You feel your cheeks warm up, but a suddenly realization comes to you. You are useful. You know the plants. “They’re probably Buckthorn berries, which are native around here. If you eat them, they cause swelling of uh, the nervous system, I think.” Another moment of silence. “My mother is a botanist, so…”
“Shit, really?” Van asks, looking around the woods. “You know what we can eat from here?”
You nod, feeling a little proud. “Um, elderberries should be around here too. If we cook those, then they’re not poisonous, but uncooked one’s are.”
“Okay,” Shauna nods, “we’ll have a little more to go off of.”
Akilah starts rationing out the water using the little plastic from the cart, everyone reminding her not to spill any.
Suddenly, Travis stands up and marches over to the pile of food, grabbing a bag of CornNuts.
“Dude!” Can shouted after him.
“Travis, what are you doing?” Jackie asks, and all of you watch as he marches off, not even looking back.
You stare at the small bag he has clutched in his fist, your stomach twisting angrily at the sight.
“Uh… Maybe you didn’t notice, but we’re kind of in a situation here, Flex.” Lottie says.
“Don’t.” Nat says.
Travis turns around for just a moment, leveling a sharp glare at Lottie, before continuing into the trees.
“Who died and made him king of snacks?” Lottie spits.
“His dad, Lottie. Literally… his fucking dad.”
“Nat’s right,” Jackie sighs. “We should cut him some slack.”
“I guess it’s fine if we all starve to death, as long as Travis’s feelings are okay…” Mari says.
“No one is starving to death. When the rescue team gets here, it’ll be fine, but for now-” Jackie starts.
“You mean if it gets here.”
“Don’t say that, Van.” Jackie says, looking slightly shocked.
“It… has been three days, Jackie.”
She smiles a bit, whether to cover up her true feelings, or if she really believes that they’ll come, you don’t know.
“They’re coming.”
—-
“Guys!” Tai shouted, returning finally from her long walk, panting. “Guys! There’s a lake! There’s a lake. I saw it from over that hill,” she points, “It looks about 4 or 5 miles away.”
You couldn’t help a small smile from winding its way onto your face. Elderberries would grow well in the soil by a lake, and other plants too. Maybe if you could just get there and recognize a few of them, you would remember more, and be able to help more-
“Do you think we can hike it?” Shauna asks.
“It’s pretty rocky,” Taissa breathes, “but yeah.”
“Uh, we, uh, we can’t… we can’t just leave,” Jackie stutters, standing up and gesturing from the plane to the direction Taissa came from.
You can tell she has no support.
“We have two days of water, tops.”
Jackie shakes her head slightly, as if to say “so?”
“And then what?” Tai continues. “Just sit around and die?” Your stomach twists.
Before all of this, you had things you wanted to do, a life you wanted to live.
“What of the rescue team comes?”
“Do you think they’re taking their time on purpose?” Taissa looks around, and while some people haven’t accepted it- you’re not a fool. If they were coming, they would have come by now. “If they knew where we were then they would be here already.”
“You don’t know that,” Jackie sneers, not unkindly, but she gets the point across.
“What do you think, Coach?”
Everyone turns to the man who you once thought wouldn’t make it through the night, now barely alive, sitting on a plane seat the girls had dragged outside. He relied on Misty for everything.
“I don’t- I don’t know,” he says, clutching his amputated leg. “Uh, I mean, you’d have to leave me behind. But, whatever.”
“We could make you a stretcher,” Tai declares, looking around. But at the first inkling that going to the lake would keep you all alive for longer- most of the girls were swayed.
“Oh, okay,” Jackie laughs.
“Seriously. If we take turns carrying it-”
“N-no! This-this is bullshit. I say no. Okay? No way.”
After Jackie’s outburst, no one speaks for a second. You look around the group of girls gathered, and most of them can’t even look at Jackie. They’ve already made their decision. You look at Nat, but her eyes are fixed to the floor.
“Let’s put it to a vote,” Tai says, staring at Jackie. “All in favor of waiting here?” Jackie raises her hand. Only a few other girls follow suit. “All in favor of the lake?” Tai raises her hand, and after a moment, you do as well.
Natalie raises her hand too.
Even Shauna raises her hand, which earns her a scorching glare from Jackie, but before anything else can happen, Tai speaks.
“Then it’s settled.”
—-
You stuffed all your clothes into your bag, a hairbrush, other toiletries- and finally, after a moment, you grabbed the small glass cube. Your mom had gifted it to you a few years ago, back when she was around more, before your dad had left, and she hadn’t thrown herself into your work and slowly stared to forget about you.
The rest of these girls probably all had people who cared for them. Who wanted them to come home. You wondered if your mother had even noticed your absence.
Inside the small glass cube was a preserved sample of deadly nightshade. A small stem with a few berries, one leaf. You wondered often if the poison still worked.
Slowly, everyone filed into a rough line, and you all began your descent to the lake.
You wondered faintly if Laura Lee should have lead you all in prayer before you started the hike.

Some concept writing! This is a scene that I've been thinking about for a while but haven't had anywhere to use it; I might do a bigger wedding story at some point, which is why this isn't going to AO3 as a standalone. This is set several months after On Yonder Hill/Endgame in the Yonderverse timeline. (Note that the timeline doesn't quite match up with the sequel concept, which is why it's all concept writing.)
Steve/Nat, Bruce/Betty, and Clint/Laura all referred to. Pied ravens are an extinct color morph from the Faroe Islands.
Just over 2K under the break.
--
“Dad?”
There was a nervous edge to Lila’s voice that made Clint’s hand tighten on his razor.  He flinched an instant later as the twitch opened a thin cut on the underside of his chin.  Wiping the blood and the last of the soapsuds away, he called back, “Yeah, sweetie?”
He had to fight to keep his voice calm and finish wiping his face dry, rather than rushing downstairs immediately.  Since the Blip he had been hovering in a way that he knew made them all nervous, not dissimilarly to the way he had hovered when he had first retired after the Ultron debacle.  Only back then it had been because he didn’t really know what to do with himself when he didn’t feel like he was counting time until his next deployment; now it was because he couldn’t bring himself to believe that they wouldn’t all vanish if he turned his back.  He was doing his best.
“Dad, there’s a – a bird.”
Clint stopped with the water running across his hands.  “A bird?”
“Hon, I think you’d better come down here,” Laura added.  From the sound of it she was standing at the bottom of the stairs.  “I think it’s for you.”
He heard Nathaniel say, “Why would a bird be for Daddy?”
“Jesus,” Clint muttered, turning the water off and wiping his hands dry. “I’m going to kill that son of a bitch.  Coming to my house –”
He took the stairs two at a time on the way down and arrived in the kitchen to find Laura and the kids clustered on one side of the room and a big black-and-white bird perched calmly on the back of a chair.  The back door was open behind it.
Because of the color, it took Clint a moment to identify the bird as a raven.  It was half again as big as the next biggest raven Clint had ever seen, which was pretty damn big.  It had the same indefinable air of being faintly alien as the handful of Asgardian animals he had seen, maybe something about the glossiness of its piebald feathers or the curvature of its beak.
Clint eyed it warily.  He had grabbed one of his holdout pistols on his way downstairs and was holding it down by his thigh where the kids couldn’t see it, just in case he had guessed wrong and the damn thing wasn’t Asgardian after all; if it was Asgardian he doubted bullets would have all that much effect on it.
The raven eyed him back with what seemed to be equal suspicion, then let out a single quork and turned its head.  There was a glitter of green-gold energy as it turned back with a thick envelope held in its beak.
Clint gritted his teeth and tucked his gun into his waistband, pulling his shirt down to cover the grip.  “You tell Loki,” he informed the raven as he crossed the kitchen, “that the postal service exists and it’s very reliable.  Don’t tell me he’s too cheap to buy an international stamp.”  He took the envelope a little gingerly from the raven, then resisted the urge to flinch as it repeated the motion, this time with what seemed to be a tightly rolled scroll.  It settled back on the chair and watched him after he took it.
“What?” Clint asked it. “What do you want?  A prize?  Go on, shoo.”
The raven ruffled its feathers and didn’t move.
“Jesus,” Clint muttered, taking a wary step back from the bird and putting himself between it and his family.  He opened the envelope first and pulled out a perfectly ordinary sheet of heavy embossed paper, reading out loud, “You are cordially invited to the wedding of Robert Bruce Banner and Elizabeth Lee Ross – Bruce is engaged to the Vice President’s daughter,” he informed Laura, passing her the invitation as she came up behind him. “The weddin’s going to be in some church in Virginia, which makes me wonder why the hell Bruce has Loki’s menagerie delivering his mail.”
The raven quorked at him again, sounding annoyed.
“That’s wonderful,” Laura said, reading the invitation.  “What’s the other one?”
“Ross must be losing his mind,” Clint said as he unrolled the scroll.  “He hates Bruce.  He – holy shit!”
“What?”
“Nat’s getting married!” Clint said, staring at the sheet of parchment or pressed wood paper or whatever it was the Asgardians used.
Laura snatched the scroll out of his hand. “To who?  I didn’t even know she was seeing anyone!”
“Aunt Nat’s getting married?” Lila said, venturing closer with a wary look at the raven.
“Nat’s getting married to Steve Rogers?” Laura said, staring at the scroll.  She stared accusingly up at Clint and said, “Did you know about this?”
“No!” Clint protested.  “I had no idea that they were –”  Several dozen observations from his month at the compound while they had been working on the quantum tunnel and the Time Heist snapped together.  He had written them all off as coincidence; Steve and Natasha had been weird about each other since they had gutted SHIELD together nine years ago.  Hell, they had been weird about each other since the Chitauri invasion back in 2012; Steve had apparently taken one look at Natasha on the helicarrier and decided that she was the only person there he trusted.  Clint still remembered seeing him for the first time back in that cell-cum-cabin and the wordless question-and-answer that had passed between Steve and Natasha about him.  From his best calculation they had known each other for about twelve hours at that point.  “I’m an idiot.”
Laura gave him a dry look.  “I thought you were living with them at the compound.”
“I wasn’t paying attention to who was sleeping in whose room!”
“So we’re going, right?” Lila said, reaching for the scroll; Laura relinquished it to her after a moment and the kids all clustered around it.  Clint wished them luck at reading Loki’s ornate, runic handwriting; at least the damn thing was in English.  Why Loki was writing Steve and Natasha’s wedding invitations was anyone’s best guess.
“The wedding’s going to be in New Asgard,” Clint said.  Although he had scouted the borders during the Snap, he had only been out to the settlement once and wasn’t sure how he felt about it; his visit had been soon after the Blip and Loki had been busy organizing it with ruthless efficiency, backed up by its original residents.  Clint still couldn’t decide if Thor hadn’t been able to get a word in edgewise or if he had been content to let Loki have his way.
“So?” Cooper said. “New Asgard’s cool.  I’ve seen pictures on the internet.”
Clint exchanged a look with Laura.  He didn’t like the idea of letting his kids anywhere near Loki, no matter what Loki had been up to during the past five years.
“I mean, if aliens attack again, New Asgard’s got to be the safest place to be, right?” Cooper insisted.
It had been eleven years since the Battle of New York and Clint still couldn’t get over the fact that that was a concern that kids just had these days.  “New Asgard’s full of aliens, bud, that’s why it’s got the words ‘new’ and ‘Asgard’ in the name.”
“But all the Avengers are there too.”
“Probably just to spite Ross,” Clint muttered; for better or worse Steve and Natasha were currently running the active Avengers team out of New Asgard.  It cut down on the paparazzi, anyway.
Laura put a hand on his arm and said, “It’s Nat, Clint.  And Steve,” she added as an afterthought; she liked Steve but knew him less well than she did Natasha.
“Yeah, yeah, of course,” Clint said; the outcome was a foregone conclusion and they didn’t need to have a debate about it.  He looked back at the patient raven and said, “Are you waiting for an RSVP or something?”
It quorked again.
“Right,” Clint muttered, then, louder, “Yes on both, party of five.”  He took the RSVP card that had been in Bruce’s envelope, found a pen, and scribbled his response before holding it tentatively out to the bird, which took it in its beak and made it vanish in a little flicker of green-gold magic.  “Is there one for Steve and Nat?”
The raven made what he assumed was a negative gesture.  It spread massive wings and hopped into the air, gliding out through the open door.  They all rushed after it, getting to the door just in time to watch it vanish in another flash of green-gold energy.
“God, everything about Asgard is so weird,” Clint said.  “I gotta make a phone call,” he added, and went upstairs to find his cell phone.  He checked the time in Norway before he hit the call button, then said, “You’re getting married?  I had to find out from one of Loki’s wild animals?”
“Hello to you too,” Natasha said.  “I was going to call, Loki just moved faster on the party-planning than I thought he would.”
“Since when have you and Steve been – uh –”  Aside from a few ill-fated attempts that Clint and Laura had arranged in the first year after her defection and the disaster with Bruce in 2015, Natasha didn’t date.  As far as Clint was aware, Steve didn’t either.
“Seven years,” Natasha said, after a brief pause.
“What?”  Clint almost yelled.  “You didn’t say!”
“I thought you were supposed to be observant, Hawkeye!  I didn’t realize we were supposed to send out a press release!”  She took a deep breath and then added more calmly, “I thought you knew.”
“I found out now,” Clint said.  “You guys aren’t really, uh, demonstrative.”  He bit his lip; thinking back on it, he was pretty sure that Steve had been sleeping in Natasha’s room at the compound nine nights out of every ten.  “So, uh, why now?”
“Steve really wants to.  He wouldn’t have pushed if I didn’t, but – I do too,” Natasha said.  There was a little bloom of heat behind the words, like any other woman who was in love; Clint just wasn’t used to hearing it from Natasha.  “It’s like – like everything was on pause during the Snap and we just couldn’t think about it then.”
“Yeah,” Clint admitted; he knew what that one was like. “Why New Asgard, though?  Isn’t Steve Irish Catholic?  He could get St. Patrick’s or St. Matthew’s for the asking.  Or whatever the cathedral in Brooklyn is.”
“St. Joseph’s,” Natasha supplied.  “He says he doesn’t care and if we have a wedding in the States then it will be a sideshow.”
“And having one in New Asgard won’t be?” Clint said dubiously.  “You know what Asgardians are like –”
“I know better than you do,” Natasha pointed out.  “You know what New York has that New Asgard doesn’t?  The press.  It’s mostly an excuse for Loki to throw a party, anyway.”
Clint bit his lip, then went over to shut the bedroom door. “I don’t like the idea of bringing my kids to New Asgard, Nat.”
There was a long pause before Natasha said carefully, “You’re not coming?”
“No, of course we’re coming,” Clint reassured her.  “Just, you know.  St. Pat’s would have been a lot easier.”
“For you,” Natasha pointed out.  “We’re going to have enough trouble getting Loki into the country for Bruce’s wedding.  Bucky’s already started a betting pool on who’s going to punch out Ross.”
Clint snorted.  “Who’s in the lead right now?”
“Betty.  You haven’t met her, have you?”
“Nope, but I read her file.  When did you meet her?”
There was another long pause.  “We had an op five years ago, about six months after the Snap, and she got brought in on it.  I don’t want to talk about it on the phone.”
Clint bit the inside of his cheek. “Was that the thing in New York when the Tower got blown up?  I saw it on the news.”
“That’s the one.”
Clint was well aware that he had fucked up by not linking up with the remaining Avengers after the Snap.  To his grief-stricken mind it had seemed like the best idea for everyone at the time, but in actuality it hadn’t been good for anyone, him included.  He had been able to tell from the news reports about the New York op that there was something big missing and no one had any idea what it was.  That usually meant that something had gone very, very wrong.
He cleared his throat and said, “We’ll be there.  For Bruce and Betty too, tell them I said hi.  I gotta go have breakfast.”
“Okay,” Natasha said, sounding a little relieved not to have to talk about whatever disaster had happened on the New York op.  “Give Laura and the kids my love.”
“Will do.  Talk to you later.”
He ended the call and sat down heavily on the bed, tossing the phone to one side.  “Damn,” he said eventually, feeling more than a little astonished.  Clint might not have gotten snapped, but he had missed a lot anyway.

What if all of this is just a stupid ploy to get our hopes up, and get people talking about the show, like I'm pretty sure the stupid Luke hitting Lee thing was. They can just say, well WE never said anything about Robert, or Seb or whoever returning, you just assumed. If it was nothing I feel like they would have adressed it by now, but they could just be enjoying people gossiping.
I don't think they expected the Robert speculation to spiral as much as it did with the Luke thing. I think that's why they did come out and say "we don't have any plans to bring Robert back at this time," which is something they haven't done this time around.
With the Luke thing, I feel like it was sort of a 3 fold problem they were trying to solve.
Danny had already told them he was leaving so there definitely weren't any plans to bring Robert back. And all of the Luke stuff felt very last minute, particularly the Robert part. So adding in the Robert of it all, was a way for them to push Aaron firmly toward Ben in a way that would "in theory" make it believable for Aaron to not only be willing to move away with him but also be genuinely upset when he was murdered, which would lead to his exit.
They needed an exit story for Luke. And I feel like he didn't give them a ton of notice that he was leaving because I feel like they had probably planned for him to come out due to Max coming out and maybe there might have been a longer term story involving Ethan but then he was leaving so they threw something else in there to force him out faster.
Planting a future loophole for Robert to get out of prison. They knew Danny was leaving and they knew they weren't getting Ryan back at the time so I feel like it was more something they'd considered as a possibility longer term with Luke and Robert and just wanted to stick it in there in case they did get Danny and Ryan back one day.
It all felt very rushed and thrown together due to exits and it was all pretty unnecessary for the actual stories they were telling but also these people are incredibly lazy and using Robert was easier??? But the rushing and the lack of any real hype really didn't feel like there was a real possibility of Robert coming back at the time. Maybe that's just hindsight talking since obviously people got their hopes up but I really feel like we were just baiting ourselves at that point.
This still feels different. It feels more like they're taking their time, putting in strategic mentions, biding time with Aaron's breakdown and bad behavior. It feels like it's building to something and they haven't shut it down yet.
I mean we might still be baiting ourselves again but it feels more possible this time.

Collison 4/11/23
Happy 69
Tumblr media
Collison opens with a montage of promos. When it came to Swerve Strickland, he cut off by AR Fox who attacked him. The brawl spilled out to the arena during the opening pyro. Swerve got the win, thus carrying his momentum heading into his match with Adam Page. The post-match had all the main event players coming out for a brawl.
This would be one of tree singles matches as the rest featured multi-man competition, which was not a bad thing in hindsight as it opened up the spotlight to showcase wrestlers that have fallen into the abyss.
The Kingdom won a squash match against James McGregor and Brixton Nash. I don’t recall seeing Matt Taven or Mike Bennett being featured outside ROH, so this was good to see. I was kind of hoping that Taven would incorporate the giraffe into his gear because I think it would be hilarious. Roderick Strong did a post-match knee and imminently milked his neck again. It’s good to see this team do something rather then just be relegated to promos.
Lance Archer returned with Jake ''The Snake'' Roberts to take on Darby Allin. Allin was ragged dolled a lot. He took a choke slam followed by another choke slam on the outside edge of the ring. Allin prevailed with a Destroyer off the top rope to win. Jake Robert’s announces that he has brought in The Righteous. This looks like set up for Darby, String and Adam Copeland vs. Lance and The Righteous. Archer will fit in nicely with The Righteous, but I'm not sure if it's long term.
Skye Blue and Kris Statlander still have friction between them as Blue explains to Statlander she misted Julia Hart only for Willow because they're friends. This looks to be leading to Blue vs. Statlander with Willow stuck in the middle (maybe a triple threat?). Willow also picked up a win over Emi Sakura in a decent match up. Willow needed this victory as she hasn't picked up a win in quite a while.
We got a surprise appearance from Kip Sabian who teamed with The Workhorsemen to face off against Mark Briscoe/Dusty Rhodes/Keith Lee. This was a short but fun match. I’m glad that Kip and Lee got TV time. Kip is so good and deserves more time on Collison going forward. Lee will also get a match on Dynamite against Samoa Joe with Briscoe challenging Jay White for his spot at Full Gear. I'm glad to see the gears turning in the right direction here.
The Acclaimed celebrated 69 days as AEW Trios Champions. The chemistry between all three were on display and it was an amusing segment until Dalton Castle and The Boys came to the ring. I often chastise WWE for doing this, so I’m going to chastise AEW here. I hate it when wrestlers make the matches on the spot. Doing so in kayfabe makes the company look unprofessional and lazy for not planning out TV time. The match wasn’t half bad though. The segment also featured MJF admitting that he liked The Acclaimed and sees Max Caster as a friend, so expect more team ups.
The main event was FTR/LFI (Preston Vance & Rush with Jose the Assistant & Dralistico) vs. Big Bill & Ricky Starks and Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona). I just don't care for Kaun and Liona because I don't know anything about them. Who are they? What are they fighting for? I would have preferred Dralistico over Vance in this match. Post match had The House of Black attacked FTR, with Claudio and Yuta making the save.
This Collision featured talent we haven't seen in a while. And I'm glad the fall out is spilling into Dynamite. I hope this is not a case of showing certain talent, then tossing them away for months. This seems to be a problem with AEW. Look at the Miro/CJ Perry storyline. One moment they are both featured heavily, and now they just Perry only gets a mention and Miro gets a quick cameo. I hope Dynamite delivers with story progression.

Dude, I can totally see the hatzgang teaming up to wreck someone. Like one of them distracting someone so the other two can ambush them
(The biggest victim I can see to this is Radford)
Couldn’t help but do this one next, it’s mah pfp boi, c’mon. Also these little crazies would so do this, especially since Rob already loves tkling his big bro
Lers Roy Ross and Robert, Lee Radford
Warning: cussing, rushed and shitty ending
Word count: 1410
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“So, guys, what’s the plan?”
Roy looked back at his two friends, the three hanging out near the door of the movie theater, plotting a very special attack on Robert’s very own brother and current movie theater employee, Radford. Robin, Robert’s older sister, had been nice enough to lead them here, but now they were on their own while she went in to see a movie.
“Well, one of us will have to distract him, but the question is, which one?” Ross asked, looking between his two friends. “It can’t be me, I’m not very distracting…”
“If I go in there and just start talking to him, he’ll know something’s up,” Robert noted, “We’ve used this to get the jump on him a lot at home so he’ll suspect something if it’s me.”
“Well, lucky for you guys, not only am I perfect at distracting people, but he won’t know to suspect anything if it’s me,” Roy stated proudly.
“Yeah yeah, good, now go!” the ravenette told him, shoving him into the theater lobby.
Radford enjoyed his job. It was a pretty small town, so it was usually quiet, and he got to meet some pretty interesting people, like Rick and Streber. Most of the people he met were pretty friendly, but he did have to deal with his fair share of Karens, inconsiderate people leaving messes, and people sneaking in. But usually, his job was peaceful enough.
He was waving to Robin as she went off to watch the horror movie when he heard the theater doors closing yet again, and turned to greet the next person.
“Hello, welcome to- oh, hey, you’re one of Robert’s friends, aren’t you? Roy, right?” he asked as the brunette approached him, leaning over the counter to see him better. “What are you doing here? I thought your parents didn’t like you leaving the house alone.”
“Yeah, yeah, I know. I just wanted to, y’know, see what a movie in an actual theater was like,” he reasoned, glancing off to the side, Radford assumed in embarrassment. “We have a home theater but I kinda wanted to see how different it was, and if it’s as good as Ross and Robert say it is.”
“Well, you’ve come to the right place! We’re the best movie theater in town!... Probably because we’re the only theater in town, but who cares? Which movie would you like to see?”
Roy pretended to think as his friends snuck behind the counter, feigning considering his options as the small blonde and ravenette crept closer and closer until, finally, he ‘came to a decision’.
“I think I’m gonna see- NOW GUYS!” he suddenly yelled, confusing and startling the young adult, before the other two teens leapt up and grabbed his arms, yanking him back onto the ground.
“WH- Robert!” he shouted angrily at his brother.
“Hi, big bro~”
“Dude, what are you doing?!”
“Well, you remember that time that you decided to tickle me in front of these two?” Rob motioned with one hand to the other boy holding Rad down, and Roy, who was coming around the counter.
Radford immediately knew what that meant and started tugging at his arms, anticipation bubbling inside him.
“W-wait, hold on, w-w-we’re in public, I- I need to check people in and-”
“C’mon, dude, you know how common PDA is in this town. Besides, almost everyone is home today thanks to the weather,” Ross pointed out, and Radford hated the realization that he was right.
“Still, you can’t just- You- I- All three of you s-EE-” he squeaked as he felt his little brother poke his side.
“You know, we’ll probably go easier on you if you don’t insult us,” Robert whispered not-so-quietly to the older blonde, who looked at his friends uneasily before deciding he was right.
“Alright, Robert, where’s his death spot?” Roy asked slyly, carefully studying the two blondes. While he knew Rob wanted revenge for their sleepover at his house, he wouldn’t put it past him to hide it for his brother’s sake.
Then again, maybe he wouldn’t, he thought after seeing the blondes exchange looks, Robert’s evil and smug, Radford’s nervous but giddy.
“It’s-” Rob started but was promptly cut off by his brother.
“D-don’t you dare!”
“-his back.”
“DAMN YOU!”
“Ah, perfect~ Ross, get his arms,” Roy told the ravenette, who raised an eyebrow at him expectantly. The brunette sighed a bit.
“Get his arms, please?” “There you go,” Ross praised him as he took the other arm from Rob’s hold and pulled them so Radford was forced into a sitting position.
“Robert, would you like to do the honors? He is your brother, after all,” Roy offered to the blonde, who nodded enthusiastically.
“Oh, you know it!” he chirped as he walked around to stand behind his brother. “This is what you get for being a little shit!”
Radford tried to protest but didn’t get anything out before he squealed at the gentle tickles he suddenly felt right next to his shoulders, both trying to scrunch away and pull his arms from Ross’s hold, and was almost successful.
“WOAH! He’s really strong for a scrawny guy!” Ross pointed out as he held fast.
“Or he’s just got a size advantage over all of us,” Roy reasoned, “weighs more than any of us.”
“Yeah, fair point.”
“Guys, I thought you were gonna join! Don’t make me teach him a lesson all by myself,” Rob butted into their conversation, peeking around his brother at the two.
“Wahait WHAT?!”
“Oh, that’s right, now let’s see, where should I…?” he trailed off, debating on different spots until he smirked and started squeezing Rad’s sides, eliciting yet another squeal from him, making him curl up with little kicks.
“NOHO! AAHAHA!!” he yelped as the two fairly bad spots were targeted, tugging at his hands even more, forcing Ross to plant his feet to keep himself steady.
“You know, Ross, if you let him go, you can help us,” Rob pointed out, and before Radford was ready, the ravenette actually did let go, making him fall backwards onto his little brother.
“OW- Rad!” he whined as though he wasn’t the one who coaxed Ross to let go.
“Hey, that was your fault and you kno-HOHOW AHAHA WHY-HIHIHI?!” he attempted to defend himself before suddenly his sides, back and belly were being dug into, pulling yet another squeal from his system. He tried to curl up or cover himself but nothing worked.
“Y’know, guys, maybe we could give him a way out if he really wants?” Ross offered the idea, not liking the idea of accidentally going past Rad’s limits.
“Fine, if he… Apologizes to Rob for embarrassing him at our sleepover!” Roy decided, and Robert nodded below his older brother.
“Yeah, apologize to me!” the blonde told his brother, tickling where he could reach around his shoulders, making him try to arch away from the devious fingers.
“YOUHUHU DESEHEHERVED IHIHIT!”
Suddenly the tickling stopped. He wasn’t sure why until he opened his eyes, looking up to see Roy and Ross staring past him in what almost seemed to be horror. What are they staring at?...
WAIT.
Just as he realized Robert must have been planning something, he suddenly felt a vicious raspberry right between his shoulders, his uniform offering very little protection as his ribs were kneaded into as well, sending him into silent laughter.
The moment he got his breath back, he screamed out the best apology he could manage to make legible, and finally the tickling stopped. He panted and giggled as Ross helped him sit up, Robert brushing himself off from being stuck beneath him and Roy patting his back.
“Mission accomplished, operation: Tickle Radford for revenge successful,” Rob cheered. “You ok, bro?”
“Ihihi… Ihi’ll be fihine…” he giggled out, slowly calming down.
“Need some water or something?” Ross asked, and Radford shook his head as his giggles died down.
“Nah, I’ll be fine. But what I do need is to get back to work. So y’all better leave me to it before I just so happen to return your revenge!” he threatened playfully, wiggling his fingers at the three, who left in a hurry.
He chuckled quietly as he stood, stretching out just a bit. It was nice to play like just a little kid again, even if he had to work. And even if it was his turn to check tickets.
Oh wait.
I am so fired.
