New papertoy is an potato-obsessed wizard Petrosilius Zwackelmann as played by August Diehl in “Der Räuber Hotzenplotz” 2022 film. I’ve enjoyed this role of his too much to pass on the figure – it’s insanely entertaining and this evil wizard manages to be touching in his struggle with peeling of potatoes.

The figure turned out very cute and also boasts a completely new experimental feature – optional changeable faceplates.

Sagt man anderswo auch "Es trätscht aus allen Kübeln!?". Ich bin mir nicht einmal sicher, ob 'man' das hier so sagt. Ich sage das halt. Und das darf ich auch. Es trätscht nämlich aus allen Kübeln. Grundsätzlich ist mir das egal. Es ist ja Sonntagmittag. Also, eigentlich ist es schon Sonntagnachmittag. So irgendwas um halb Drei herum. Und zum Glück habe ich mein Tagewerk schon verrichtet. Ich war im Harmoniekino in Sachsenhausen und habe im Rahmen einer Matinee vorm Film 'Der Räuber Hotzenplotz' Räubermärchen erzählt. Das hat mir richtig Spaß gemacht. Und jetzt ist Sonntagnachmittag, es trätscht und ich kann mich ruhigen Gewissens zurücklehnen und den Sonntag genießen. In der Bluetoothbox läuft das traumhafte, sehr klavierhaltige Album 'Zappa spielt für Bach 2022', wo Zappamusik wunderbar auf dem Flügel interpretiert wird. Die Straße herunter laufen noch immer Marathonläufer auf das Ende der Strecke zu und rundherum versuchen Autofahrer, dem Marathon aus dem Weg zu fahren, Fußballfans bahnen sich ihren Weg ins Stadion und ich sitze, schaue, lausche. Ich finde das sehr sonntäglich, wenn man mich so fragt...

Do they say elsewhere: “Es trätscht!”(funny German expression, saiing 'it's raining') . I'm not even sure if 'they' say it like that here. I just say that. And I can do that, just for practising.

It's all over the place. Basically I don't care. It's Sunday afternoon. Well, actually it's already Sunday afternoon. Something around half past two. And luckily I've already done my day's work. I was at the Harmoniekino in Sachsenhausen and told robber fairy tales as part of a matinee in front of the film 'The Robber Hotzenplotz'. I really enjoyed that. And now it's Sunday afternoon, it's calming down and I can sit back and enjoy Sunday with a clear conscience. The dreamlike, very piano-based album 'Zappa plays for Bach 2022' is playing in the Bluetooth box, where Zappa music is wonderfully interpreted on the grand piano. Down the street, marathon runners are still running towards the end of the route and all around, drivers are trying to get out of the way of the marathon, football fans are making their way into the stadium and I'm sitting, watching, listening. I find that very Sunday if you ask me like that...

Warning: Infodump about english version of German Movie I have too many opinions about

I will never understand why they made the american (I think) version of The Three Robbers into "Trick or Treaters". The original movie has nothing to do with Halloween. It doesn't even fit well, they kinda had to stretch it to make sense of that.

They also cut some at least one scene (though I...understand why), and put in this random narrator dude. Like, there wasn't really any naration in the beginning, so now you are missing the sensation of knowing how god damn bizarre that movie is in some parts.

Also, I'm kinda sad they took the Räuber Hotzenplotz line out of the song. Though most Amercians probably don't know who that is, but still, it fit so nicely.

Unfortunately, I could only find a youtube upload, but I think they also took the convo between the actors at the beginning of the movie out, which was just kinda charming. Like I said, the og version is weird :P

August Diehl's version of Petrosilius Zwackelmann moves and acts like a raptor from Jurassic Park.

Keeping hands close the to body, long nails, constant sniffing and signing only add to the effect.

Raptors are not the only inspiration. When attacking he draws himself to his whole height and makes himself seem bigger!

did you read the Witcher books in German or in English? and were there any noticeable differences, like I know that some German translations of sci-fi/ fantasy are kind of infamous, like the time the Discworld translation had a soup advertisement written in it

I must admit, I pretty much stopped reading books in German altogether years ago. I only know that Dandelion is called Rittersporn in German, which sounds nice in a medieval setting, but it's a different plant which is not even yellow but blue 😅. Except for one Discworld book that my sister gave to me many years ago, my first Terry Pratchett novel ever, I also read those exclusively in English. I think the last books I read in German were actually the children's books I read to my daughter and son, like The Robber Hotzenplotz or Urmel from the Ice or Das Sams (it's The Slurb in English, how does that even work, it's called Sams because it comes on a Samstag = Saturday, there is no Slurbday, is there???), and the first three Harry Potter books. So, no idea if the German Witcher translation is better or worse than the English one.🙈
