anyhow if any of you wanted to know how my ER went/is going....trust me I tried to just do something simple for the start but quickly found Dragon Powers and burnt and rotted everything between me and more stuff I can use to make things dead faster

I like how the grey on her shirt still has that faint cyan edge to it to add vibrancy + how well the blue and pink shadows go with her hair. Colour theory or something. Also, again, this'll sound weird but I especially like the shading on the hair at her neck and how warm and saturated it is. But I also super love how watercoloury the shading on her white shirt feels. Its so soft. She feels so pastel its beautiful. Finally, her blue background contrasts with the white/blond so well, while the shading of white/pink/blue on the blue part of her clothing also desaturates the blue so it doesn't blend in. Oh and of course her face is great too. Do you headcanon her as using makeup? Because she has some really luscious eyes and lips compared to the boys. it's pretty.

Anyway, the thing I like a lot about these is how they show off the diffs/strengths of Yugioh's style vs Yours. You still translated it really well, ofc, and I honestly think yours is better (even if too high effort for a weekly show.) Anyway, yugioh's anatomy is kinda cartoony and some of the shapes can get a lil out there. Plus, the hair is like knives. Your anatomy is more realistic and detailed (like how you translated Syo's weird little eyes and made them not weird). Also impressed by how you made Asukas nightmare of a pose work, too. The most amazing bit imo though is the hair. Yugioh hair doesn't really have strands or roots (unless ur a yuboy) so its really interesting to see how you rebuild it with recogniseable strands, crowns, roots and inclines. It not only makes it much softer and cuter, but means that you can shade with a lot less straight lines (which really nails the feeling of shading a fiber/thread/hair). Plus, the swirl of asukas hair (which isnt really possible in ygo's style) looks Incredible here!

Hnngh I love ur shading so much. Anyway. Amazing pics. Made my day.

Hi!! I sorta get the vibe that maybe Rook has some deep rooted trauma from his childhood?? Just because of how secretive he is; i know hes eccentric but i feel like it’s more than that. A lot of ppl are upset at Vil for “changing” Rook somehow but i feel like rook changed his appearance to match with Vil, moved to pomefiore, etc. because HE wanted to be more like Vil, i feel like him meeting Vil was a rly big turning point for him. And with how upset he was at having to hurt dream Vil and Neige (and his fanboy bedroom😭😭) i feel like he’s really dependent on both of them for his happiness and he’s avoiding dealing with some traumatic experience, but this could be a stretch. I was wondering what your thoughts were. Sorry this was so long, have a nice night!!🫶

Mmm, maybe? There's certainly nothing to disprove the idea, although there also isn't much to support it. Rook doesn't strike me as someone who is scared or put off by most things. He was very much able to keep his calm and composure even in demanding, high-stress situations like the STYX base raid in book 6 and the rescue operation in Endless Halloween Night. If he has experienced something dangerous and/or dark, he gives me the impression that he could handle himself just fine. (This isn't to downplay trauma; I'm just saying that Rook could very well be the type of person that reacts and copes well with it.) As for him being secretive, it could be for other reasons such as his family's line of work (which is implied to be pretty important, since they have warp pads and villas all over Twisted Wonderland). This would be reasoning similar to why Jade and Floyd's father's occupation is kept dubious. Rook's secretive nature could also be an intentional diversion (ie purposefully playing "the fool") so it's easier for his targets to lower their guards around him or not take him seriously. Really, there's many reasons for his enigmatic and eccentric attitude. I'm also of the opinion that you don't necessarily need to have a deep-rooted trauma to get deep into fandom or stan culture. Sometimes you just get really into something and want to dedicate your entire being to that which holds your attention! For Rook, that's Neige and Vil--and it hurts him on a deep level to have to harm those who have brought him so much joy. I liken it to like... how TWST fans have merch shrines dedicated to their favorite boys. Non-Twsties may not understand our love and dedication to these characters, nor why we may get upset if those merch shrines are destroyed or damaged.

I think a lot of Rook's emotional attachment to Neige and Vil doesn't come from "relying" on them to fill in some void within himself. Rather, the behavior stems from him literally viewing them as pinnacles of beauty, combined with his own reverence for beauty itself and how they've helped his own character development. We know that, as a child, Rook struggled to express himself and was first introduced to the magic of the arts when he watched a play that starred Neige. The performance and show must have deeply resonated with Rook. Later on, we see that he, as a first year Savanaclaw student, acts much closer to the Rook we know of today. Invasive, bright, speaking his mind in a verbose way, etc. This makes me think that it was through stanning Neige that Rook was motivated to express himself in a more open manner. Then, when Rook meets Vil, he's inspired and encouraged to beautify himself so as to be like the works of art he already admires. As you've said, Vil isn't the one forcing change on Rook; instead, Vil gives the suggestion and Rook becomes enraptured with the idea--to the point where he changes dorms against Vil's advice. This is another huge turning point in Rook's life. He changes dorms, becomes Vil's right-hand man, and drastically changes his appearance too. This is all so he can be closer to the "beauty" he wishes to see, so he can fully dedicate himself to that chase. Neige was the impetus that started it all, and Vil is the one who motivated Rook to go "above and beyond" in his pursuit of beauty. So thinking about it, Rook has gone on his own journey of personal growth, and Neige and Vil are both closely tied to that. It's like how some of us TWST fans have been with the game for a few years now. We've grown and changed, and TWST has been with us every step of the way. I bet you're a totally different person today than you were when you first came across your current hyperfixations. That's bound to deepen the emotional connection we already have with the object of our affections--be it TWST for us, or Neige and Vil for Rook, no trauma necessary. From all of that, I get the impression that Rook cherishes Neige and Vil because he has "grown up" with them and they're so pivotal to who he is and has become as a person. When he has to turn his arrow on them, it may hurt him in the sense that he's destroying his passions or the very figures who have inspired him to come as far as he has. That's how I interpret it!

I still think it's fine to headcanon whatever you want for Rook's past though! There's no harm in filling in the gaps with whatever you think suits the character or the story.

chan- think of how he is with lee know and seungmin sometimes. yeah. like when you’re sitting there like 😐😒, he’s squishing you and sticking his face in yours affectionately. you’re his baby. there are times when he respects your space but for the most part he’s all over you. most of the time he’s the protector but there have been a few times he’s seen your protective side and the pride he feels???? omg

hyunjin- he’s finally found someone as sassy as him. the funniest thing (for others really) is when something happens and you both kinda share the same look of confusion and disgust (judgement). everything is just really calm and lowkey with you, which he loves but then when you’re both alone you kinda bounce off the walls together.

han- beast boy x raven (gn) vibes. like he is an absolute SIMP for you. he thrives with a darker, kinda emo or goth partner. even if that’s not rly your aesthetic, he just likes having a partner that’s more lowkey to balance him out but whenever you do get your bursts of energy he always matches it and it’s kinda magical. you’re the one usually teasing him and it’s funny bc it’ll either fluster the hell out of him or like he didn’t even catch it. you 1000% become like a security blanket in human form for him.

felix- grumpy x sunshine. now, he’s not the type to poke fun at you or anything or tease you when you’re in your more quiet, grumpy moments. he just kinda sits there like the sunshine he is and loves you through it. damn, is he cute. he has you melting instantly but you obviously can’t show that. he loves to cuddle you even when you’re stiff as a board, unsure what to do with affection. felix also does this super 🫠🫠🫠 thing where he randomly tells you you’re pretty (✨gn✨) AND ITS ALWAYS WITH THE CUTEST FACE SCRUNCH and then gives you a little peck leaving you like 🧍🏻😳

seungmin- you two actually have similar energy but he’s like the dog version? i wouldn’t necessarily call him a black lab or anything, he’s just kinda the puppy version of you. (idk how to make it make sense. iykyk) you two just kinda vibe together and enjoy each other’s company without having to say a lot which is super nice. you just have this like rhythm and comfortability with each other that is just so ✨✨✨. there’s also this insane sixth sense with each other where you both feel out what’s going on in the room and know what to do without saying a word to each other. the amount of times where y’all have been hanging out with friends only to get up and leave without any notice to anyone else to be like, “yeah, we’re gonna go” bc both of your social batteries have drained and you two just need to go watch some tv. you’re both also incredibly protective of each other when necessary.

i.n- he just finds everything you do so adorable and endearing. think wednesday and enid but he doesn’t rly have the enid aesthetic, just vibes. you have more of a dark side which he admittedly kinda loves. you could be sitting there sharpening knives and he’s like, “aren’t they the cutest!” (exaggeration but you get the idea) you just exist and he’s your biggest fan though. omg you smiled at him once (kinda sarcastically) and it made his whole year.

He's very cute, but I do agree! He doesn't immediately give Jack Skellington vibes like how Rollo gave Frollo vibes and Fellow with Honest John. But I have seen some people suggest he is a mix of Jack, Sally, and Dr. Finkelstein due to his having aspects from each of those characters in his design. In which case, that's very fun and exciting and might also explain why he didn't strike me as twst Jack Skellington right away!! Regardless, I can't wait to learn more about him and what sort of personality he has.

I hope he takes his glasses off at some point. >w< and I hope there are dark circles beneath those pretty eyes of his. WAAAA OTL my heart is weak and all of the art is just too amazing!!!! Some Leander thoughts once again since brain is rotating him constantly....

As much as I love the necromancer theories, I think his forbidden magic could also be something else. While a lot of the lore crumbs around Leander really give the necromancy vibe, we don't know enough of how magic really works in Eridia. What are the rules, what truly counts as forbidden magic there? I know necromancy is prob the most common solution to pull when people talk about forbidden magic but imo it could be anything. We don't know enough atm sksjd. My own headcanon tho still is that he def dabbles with the life/death cycle and dark arts related things, but whether it's necromancy remains to be seen.

I believe his scar is also probably related to his forbidden magic, since imo it's caused by some sort of magic incident, a spell gone badly wrong or something along that.

Now, the undead theories I am... most unsure about because personally I feel the whole undead trope is already more Sen's area. So I don't see why RSS would do the same trope twice sksjs Again, I do think he has something going on with the cycles (purely based on all the symbolism around him) but... I don't rly buy the undead theories for now
