me to my coworkers: when you request time off, you should not give the assistant dept head any additional info on why you're requesting it, it's none of her business and may be used against you
me requesting time off after my requests keep getting denied/overlooked the past few months: telling kelly explicitly that this one is an oncology appointment bc i want her to feel bad :)
#messages from the ouija board#sadies day job#to be clear it IS an oncology appointment im not lying i just want her to feel bad for me also#like yeah this is why ive been making so many requests lately :) i know u think im difficult & ur a dick about chronic illness to me & tim#but a mention of cancer WILL scare u into feeling bad about it :)#also i dont think i have cancer but i had to do a genetics screening for top surgery stuff bc of a family history of breast cancer#and the results came back and the geneticist was like 'hey so if ur already transitioning its a good idea to talk to a specialist about#a hysterectomy bc ur cancer risk down there is pretty big.' so now off to oncology we go!

I'm not saying DID isn't bad or downplaying the severity, but stop calling it a rare disease.

I knew there wasn't a whole lot of research into transgender healthcare but like. there is really not a lot of research.
#like I knew hormone replacement therapy is relatively common for cis women but I didn't expect that a libgen search for ''hormone+#+replacement therapy'' would turn up hundreds of papers on cis women's breast cancer risk and almost nothing on trans people#I found one. ONE. paper on libgen that didn't even compare trans women's to cis women's risk of iatrogenic breast cancer but instead asked+#''given what we know about cis women receiving hrt what might that mean for trans women?''#MIGHT#we haven't done a study we're just asking hypotheticals

The funniest thing I wholeheartedly believe is that I have a neurodivergency not catergorizable or diagnosable as any currently recognized disorder. (disorder emphaized because heavily impairing functioning is generally a requirement of the clinical definition and a condition of diagnosis, and although i'm vexed i still Get By Just Fine)
because like yes those probably exist; there's no way psychiatry is in its final form now and there are definitely levels of neuro-difference that don't qualify as disorders, but like. that's so random and it's kinda pretentious to make such a bold claim about yourself. like oh u wanna be special, huh? 🙄 just be AuDHD like everyone else (<- joking)
#look the Mental Illness is bad frequently enough the PMS prolly is exasterbating SOMETHING but what?? who knows#maybe testorterone would fix me... i'm afriad but i've been thinking about trying it a lot#i've been so clsoe to having persistant depression (looking back something was wrong with me in middle school???)#but it just isn't consistant and strong enough to be dysthymia#cuz like i don't feel sad so much as i just feel. psychologically unwell. maybe i've just always been stressed.#the lack of focus being a PMS symtpom is too real tho once i found that out i was like. damn that's why i thought i had ADHD sometimes and#then i wouldn't.#my autism score test ONLY being outside of 100% allistic range on the social stuff....#but i'm not a poor enough communicator for that to be a disorder#like there's all these little parts and they don't come together in the shape of anything i know#anxiety but not as bad as my mom who can't even get diagnosed bc it doesn't impair her functioning -'trich' but i don't pull; i snap or cut#but i'm still going to see a gyncologist bc PMS is the only lead i've got#i am goign to bring up T but tbh i think that's outside of their domains....#i wish menopause didn;t exist bc typical birth control is NOT an option bc high risk of hormone-positive breast cancer#but blocking my menstrual cycle would honestly be my dream outcome#but my understanding is if i don't replace E with T i just go into menopause and htne like. well my mom's going through it now and it#doesnt seem like. a good time.#I said this#personal

you: now im wondering if they also detach the nipples in that surgery
me, an idiot, picturing doctors going around just popping nipples off and sitting them to the side for a surgery, like a decorative brooch, maybe swapping them out for different, fancier nipples when sticking them back on: :O
I mean they do not "pop them off" but with the double incision mastectomy that is most commonly performed they detach the nipples reshape them (to make them smaller), and can put them in different position if you want. you can also get no nipples after this surgery
now I'm also learning about about other types of top surgery and with buttonhole technique you can keep the feeling in your nipped :O it leaves small amount of breast tissue so you don't have completely flat chest after tho
#also they say that the feeling is possible to get back after 6-12 months but it not always happens#and top surgery doesn't remove the risk of breast cancer good to know#doggie answers

Obesity-Cancer Link
A person carrying a mutation in either of the tumour suppressor proteins BRCA1 or BRCA2 is at increased risk of developing breast cancer. So too are people with obesity and diabetes. But whether obesity could exacerbate the risk in people with BRCA mutations was unknown. Recent research suggests that indeed metabolic and genetic risk can be cumulative. The image shows nuclei (blue) of milk duct cells from a person with a BRCA mutation with evidence of DNA damage shown in red. A study of such cells revealed the extent of DNA damage in BRCA mutation carriers positively correlated with body mass index. And blocking obesity related hormone signals in these cells could lessen such damage. The new findings suggest that while maintaining a low body weight is no guarantee of preventing breast cancer, addressing lifestyle, diet and metabolic health may be especially important for people already at increased genetic risk.

#depressing thot but i have like internalised the fact that i will get cancer at some point in my life time#i mean the likelihood of getting cancer at some point in ur life is already 1/3#then i have the extra % working against me because of genetics and heredity#and then the fact that in general i don’t have the best health and i have a ton of carcinogenic habits!#supposedly a first degree relative having had it doubles your risk#and the fact it happened to my mum under the age of 50 increases that risk#from avg/ moderate to strong#and it being in both of one organ increases risk and she had to have a preventative double mastectomy because of precancerous cells in the#other breast is like#halfway there into that particular added risk category#i believe also her grandmother had it too#all of these are considered ‘strong risk’ following like every cancer organization#and i guess it compounds#so uh#really makes me feel like all of her abusive and controlling tactics over the years have credence and i’ll regret being belligerent
