The Ballad of the Battle of Hafrsfjord

I just had a creative phase and combined my ballad about the Battle of Hafrsfjord with some of my film footage. The footage was shot at the Ring Sanctuary.

"He was as noble and fair as an elf-lord, as strong as a warrior, as wise as a wizard, as venerable as a king of dwarves, and as kind as summer."

is such an amazing character description. All of it lends to the image of a being who is very stately and aged, but "kind as summer" in particular is incredibly evocative. Even if you generally dislike summer (like me), you can't help but know what it means.

It just conjures up the image and feeling of the softest most beautiful day, golden sunlight, flowers and meadows. Just life. And there is strength in summer. The heat of the sun, and summer is all about vitality and growth.

That short phrase says so much and shows Elrond's character so well. After everything he's been through, he still has so much life and strength.

He manages to show so much softness and kindness to people who come to him and his home for help, and is a person of healing, and the fact that he is able to be so and to remain so kind is his strength.

I’m sure I’ve said it before but to me the two greatest modern works are: lord of the rings, brideshead revisited.

Yep! I’ve sorta hinted at it, but never rlly finished a design.

I’ve always viewed Ringed Genesis as like a neutral party (and by extension, Solitary Dream and Innocence) between the other teams. So while she is technically a person of Light (thus having a sword), she mainly uses a staff.

An AU in which the one ring is the one sword.

It began with the forging of the Great swords. Three were given to the Elves, immortal, wisest and fairest of all beings. Seven to the Dwarf lords, great miners and craftsmen of the mountain halls. And nine, nine swords were gifted to the race of men, who, above all else, desire power. But they were, all of them, deceived, for another sword was made. In the land of Mordor, in the fires of Mount Doom, the Dark Lord Sauron forged in secret a master sword, to control all others. And into this sword he poured his cruelty, his malice and his will to dominate all life. One sword to rule them all.

This sword is able to speak with it's wielder and boy is it SASSY to anyone that isn't it's master or his husband vala, Morgoth.

Some interactions with characters:

The one sword: "Frodo, you are swinging THE WRONG WAY"

The one sword: "Dear Morgoth, my master could do better than this."

The one sword: ".... ew no" Gollum: "Precious sword... my precious" The one sword: "GET MEEEE OOUUT OF HERE OMFG"

The one sword: "Only one being is allowed to call me precious and that is my master, the dark lord Sauron, and the dark lord Sauron only."

Imagine someone like Legolas picking up the sword Lmfao, the reaction.

Option 1: "oh hello a fellow gay"

Option 2: "A filthy elf, with such a lanky stature and- why are you looking at me so weirdly, why do I smell daddy issues? Oh wait I sense... Oh, you're gay. Well I suppose this is alright, hmmm. Yeah, I'll let this one pass."

Gimli: ( Picks up the one sword ) The one sword: "Get your grimy fingers off of my hilt!"

Gandalf: ( Picks up the one sword ) The one sword: "Oh, you touch me? No." ( Burns at the hilt )

Frodo: ( Struggling to pick up the one sword ) The one sword: "Ah, hobbits, I missed them. Not. Now take me to my master!"

Bilbo: ( Picking up the one sword for the first time ) The one sword: "At least this hobbit doesn't look like a rotten tapeworm with giant blue glass balls for eyes."

Sauron: ( Picks up his sword ) The one sword: ( Moans ) Sauron: "You like that don't you precious."

Character i've been working on for the past couple of weeks, its a guard counter build that is sort of inspired by the Dragonslayer Armor from ds3 (one of my favorite bosses). I found a combination of certain armor pieces, that being the exile armor and any of the tall knight helms, that make me look larger than I actually am and I think its real cool. Screenshots was taken post Morgott, he is now in Farum Azula. Also apologies for the low quality screenshots, I am using an xbox one i've had since I was still a teenager 😭

Taking the chance now to say that I hate the fire giant so much and I never look forward to fighting him. I don't even feel any sort of accomplishment after beating him and it always leaves a bad taste in my mouth, also knowing that I need to fight the godskin duo next is painful.

Salt and Sacrifice and Runic Arts (and some context about weapon skills in Souls games)

I’ve returned to the world of Salt and Sacrifice. The game got some free DLC, and that spilled into a fresh play through, specialising in two handers (think Souls game Ultra Greatswords). No idea why it has taken so long, but I’ve finally got around to doing the big sword run of Salt and Sacrifice. I had a lot of fun. In large part because of the combat, and the Runic Arts that help to bolster…
