"Winning what’s been called the ‘Green Nobel’ an Indian environmental activist has been recognized for saving a 657 square-mile forest from 21 coal mines.
From the New Delhi train station to high-end hotels to the poorest communities, virtually no one in India is free from periodic blackouts. As part of the Modi regime’s push for a developed and economically dominant India, power generation of every sort is being installed in huge quantities.
GNN has reported this drive has included some of the world’s largest solar energy projects, but it also involves coal. India is one of the largest consumers of coal for electricity generation, and Hasdeo Aranya forests, known as the “Lungs of Chhattisgarh,” are known to harbor large deposits.
The state government had been investigating 21 proposed coal mining blocks across 445,000 acres of biodiverse forests that provide crucial natural resources to the area’s 15,000 indigenous Adivasi people.
Along with the Adivasi, tigers, elephants, sloth bears, leopards, and wolves, along with dozens of endemic bird and reptile species call this forest home. It’s one of India’s largest intact arboreal habitats, but 5.6 billion metric tons of mineable coal threatened to destroy it all.
Enter Alok Shukla, founder of the Save Hasdeo Aranya Resistance Committee, which began a decade ago advocating for the protection of Hasdeo through a variety of media and protest campaigns, including sit-ins, tree-hugging campaigns, advocating for couples to write #savehasdeo on their wedding invitations, and publishing a variety of other social media content.
Shukla also took his message directly to the legislature, reminding them through news media coverage of their obligations to India’s constitution which enshrines protection for tribal people and the environments they require to continue their traditional livelihoods.
Beginning with a proposal to create a single protected area called Lemru elephant reserve within Hasdeo that would protect elephant migration corridors and cancel three of the 21 mining proposals, Shukla and the Adivasi began a 160-mile protest march down a national highway towards the Chhattisgarh state capital of Raipur.
They hadn’t even crossed the halfway mark when news reached them that not only was the elephant reserve idea unanimously agreed upon, but every existing coal mining proposal had been rejected by the state legislature, and all existing licenses would be canceled.
“We had no expectations, but the legislative assembly voted unanimously that all of the coal mines of Hasdeo should be canceled, and the forest should be saved,” Shukla says in recollection to the Goldman Prize media channel.
“That was a very important moment and happy moment for all of us.”
Shukla shares the 2024 Goldman Environmental Prize with 5 other winners, from Brazil, the US, South Africa, Australia, and Spain."

Getting into bridgerton late means finding out people's rancid takes on my beautiful woman Kate 2 years later and being left baffled and peeved. The way people miss the point of her character completely and dismiss everything she has done and sacrificed makes me want to scream.
And if that's not the unfortunate fate of many female characters.. the amount of people that cannot handle complexity and mistakes if done by women even when they mirror beloved male characters...
Mistakes are part of what makes a character interesting, their baggage that held them back and then their growth after finally learning to let it go. If you dislike Kathani viscountess Bridgerton than you better stay away from me because I will let Anthony Bridgerton's spirit posses me and I WILL fight you for her honor

We have been debating tirelessly on different ways to abolish caste and other social evils which permeate the society that we have today. Raising voices against oppression, forming political parties and contesting in elections and also trying to force the government to form and implement policies which will give the Bahujans their fundamental rights. We have come a long way through decades of struggle in gaining rights, but the present political scenario of the country is not looking hopeful to the Bahujan aspirations for breaking away the shackles of caste.
With the diluting of labour laws and enabling state sanctioned exploitation of Bahujan labour, implementation of NEP which further marginalize the Bahujan children and extinguish their hopes of upward social and economic mobility, a proposed EIA which will rob the Bahujans and Adivasis of their land and livelihood, implementation of CAA and NRC to deprive the status of citizenship, privatization of key public utilities and destroying the already weakened public healthcare system, the government is openly showing its motives as a corporate stooge which dances to the whims of Adani, Ambani and other Brahmin Bania masters.
Armed with a grass roots organization like RSS and corporate funded media outlets, they have complete dominance in creating narratives they want the public to believe and they also have a well-oiled IT cell to spread fake news against any dissenters who dare to raise voice against them. Even though there are voices in the society which are raising against these government policies, there is a lack of grass root organization and common vision is sometimes lacking. This doesn’t mean that all the opposing forces against the fascist regime, which is murdering our democracy, should be centralized under one political entity. Instead it is time to think about exactly the opposite, the expansion of the idea of democracy from merely being a political tool used while casting vote once every 5 years to inculcating an idea of democracy in all aspects of life — political, social and economical and decentralization of all aspects of society.
Anarchism is a political philosophy which rejects all coercive and oppressive forms of hierarchy, be it caste, class, color, creed, clan, gender, age, orientation or country. It says that every system of power hierarchy should be scrutinized and made to justify its existence, and any system which fails to justify itself and is trampling the freedom of the individual will have to be abolished. The idea of questioning oppressive power structures is inherent to the idea of anarchism. It prohibits a system where even a party or a few leaders decide on how the society will function. Instead it focuses on decentralizing power to local bodies and communities so that decisions are made at the lowest level possible, thus eliminating the concentration of power into a few hands. It also shares the view that people who are most impacted by policies and decisions are the ones who are most capable of making them.
Historically, humans have developed to live in societies which didn’t have the kind of huge inequalities as it exists today. There is an intrinsic instinct to cooperate and help each other which is visible when a disaster strikes or the self-organization that appears out of nowhere in organic movements against oppression. Solidarity and mutual aid are the foundations of an anarchist society. The “right to well-being” of all human beings, meaning “the possibility of living like human beings, and of bringing up children to be members of a society better than ours” (Kropotkin, 1892). Two of the examples of societies which function close to anarchist principles today are Zapatistas of Mexico (Nacional, 2002) and Rojava in Syria (Democracy, 2018). Extreme corruption, colonization and environmental exploitation forced the indigenous people of Mexico to form an autonomous region where people directly form communities and decide the policies. Similarly, the people of Rojava, battered by the civil war, have formed an autonomous region with direct democratic ambitions based on an anarchist and libertarian socialist ideology promoting decentralization, gender equality, environmental sustainability and pluralistic tolerance for religious, cultural and political diversity based on democratic confederalism. One of the principles of direct democracy is that there are no elected representatives for a fixed term, any member who is elected will just be a spokesperson of the community and can be withdrawn immediately if he goes against the decision taken by discussion and deliberations. The means of production will be owned by workers and run by worker councils. Conflict resolution mechanism and alternative systems of judiciary exists within the community run by the members. There won’t be police or other systems which grant power to one person or group to take away the life and liberty of an individual, rather power will be distributed equally or rotationally which is controlled by the community. During the current times of BLM protests all over the world, it is clear that the police institution is just a tool employed by the ruling and propertied class to control the lower class and there is mass class for defunding the police and transferring the resources to community welfare projects.
We need to look at how these communities organize themselves in the face of an oppressive regime and come up with innovative ways to decentralize and create institutions which we are brainwashed to assume will work only if they are centralized. Decentralized community gardens provide food for the community which is maintained by them. Systems of education, community defense, criminal justice systems, industry and healthcare can be decentralized and we need to focus our efforts in building such grassroot level communities which function along the principles solidarity and mutual aid. We already have systems of mutual aid in our communities, all we need to do is to transfer these tendencies to all the systems we live by.
The Indian social mentality of following a leader or waiting for a savior needs to change. Any system which can consolidate power in the hands of the few can change into authoritarianism. Even if the leaders are benevolent and have the will to serve the people, there are systems of coercion which exist in our society, where economic, political and social power resides in the hands of the few, that they will bind the leaders from doing their duty to the Bahujans. The leaders and parties we look up to keep failing and disappointing us time and again. Now, action needs to be taken directly at grass root level by the Bahujans by creating communities and networks of solidarity and mutual aid and practicing decision making and direct participatory democracy. The culture of outsourcing decision making to politicians or other ruling class needs to stop. This has to start at all sectors of industry, agriculture and services too, and also within family.
We can’t turn to the state for protection anymore as it the state apparatus which is being systematically abused by the ruling castes to exploit Bahujan labour to create their wealth. Along with the efforts to educate Bahujans through social media and other means to sensitize them of their exploitation, effort needs to be focused at the bottom most level to inculcate the habit of participatory democracy at individual, family and community levels, respecting the liberty of the individual. The fight for annihilation of caste cannot be won, unless all unjust power structures in the society cease to exist and power is decentralized and distributed to the people directly, where individuals themselves can organize and make decisions about their life without being coerced or exploited to create wealth for others.

there's a post going around saying that jewish people would be considered settlers (perjorative) anywhere they went that's annoying me because it fundamentally misunderstands what settler colonialism is. Moving somewhere and joining an existing community isn't being destructive, and those who claim it is are xenophobes and racists, and historically have been being antisemitic when saying this to jewish peoples in various countries! On the other hand zionists creating settlements on the west bank and telling palestians who are Also indigenous to the land that they have to leave on pain of death (or just killing them up front) is a totally different situation. It's just not true that it's impossible to go anywhere without displacing people. I think that recognizing that jewish ppl have been and are frequently targeted by xenophobia can be really clearly separated from the criticisms being made of Israel and zionist ideology.

What Are the Consequences of Ignoring Loan Recovery Notices?
A personal loan can be a great financial tool to meet urgent expenses, but failing to repay it on time can lead to serious financial and legal consequences. If borrowers miss multiple EMIs, lenders issue loan recovery notices as a warning. Ignoring these notices can worsen the situation, leading to legal action, credit score damage, and asset seizure.
In this article, we will explore the potential consequences of ignoring loan recovery notices, how lenders handle loan defaults, and what borrowers can do to resolve the issue before it escalates.
1. What Is a Loan Recovery Notice?
A loan recovery notice is an official communication from a bank or NBFC informing a borrower about overdue EMIs and urging them to repay the outstanding balance. It serves as a final warning before legal proceedings begin.
✅ Common Reasons for Receiving a Loan Recovery Notice:
Missing multiple personal loan EMI payments.
Failure to communicate with the lender about repayment difficulties.
Defaulting on the loan despite repeated reminders from the lender.
📌 Tip: Do not ignore a loan recovery notice. Instead, respond immediately and discuss repayment options with your lender.
2. What Happens If You Ignore a Loan Recovery Notice?
Ignoring a loan recovery notice can lead to severe financial and legal consequences. Here’s what borrowers can expect if they fail to act:
🚨 1. Increased Late Fees and Interest Charges
Lenders charge penalty interest on overdue EMIs, increasing the outstanding balance.
Additional late payment fees add to the financial burden.
🚨 2. Negative Impact on Your Credit Score
Missed EMI payments significantly lower your CIBIL score.
A poor credit score reduces your chances of getting future loans.
The loan default remains on your credit history for 7 years.
🚨 3. Legal Action by the Lender
Lenders may file a legal case under the SARFAESI Act or Debt Recovery Tribunal (DRT).
If the court rules in favor of the lender, borrowers may face salary garnishment or asset seizure.
🚨 4. Harassment by Loan Recovery Agents
Banks and NBFCs may assign loan recovery agents to recover the dues.
Although RBI regulates fair collection practices, some agents may harass borrowers.
🚨 5. Seizure of Collateral (For Secured Loans)
If the personal loan is secured, the lender can seize pledged assets.
This applies to gold loans, property-backed loans, and loans against fixed deposits.
📌 Tip: If you receive a loan recovery notice, act immediately to avoid legal complications.
3. What Are Your Legal Rights as a Borrower?
Borrowers have legal rights even if they default on a personal loan. Understanding these rights can help protect against unfair treatment.
✅ RBI Guidelines for Loan Recovery:
Lenders cannot use force or threats to recover loan dues.
Banks must follow a structured legal process before initiating loan recovery.
Recovery agents must adhere to fair debt collection practices.
✅ Right to Receive Proper Notices:
Borrowers must receive a formal loan recovery notice before any legal action.
Lenders cannot take action without giving reasonable time to repay.
✅ Right to Seek a Loan Restructuring Plan:
Borrowers can request EMI restructuring or tenure extension.
Some lenders allow a grace period or reduced EMIs for financial hardship.
📌 Tip: If a loan recovery agent violates your rights, report the issue to RBI or the Consumer Court.
4. How to Handle a Loan Recovery Notice?
If you receive a loan recovery notice, follow these steps to resolve the issue effectively:
✅ Step 1: Contact the Lender Immediately
Call your bank’s customer service or visit the nearest branch.
Explain your financial situation and request an alternative repayment plan.
✅ Step 2: Request Loan Restructuring or EMI Extension
Banks may allow lower EMI payments to ease repayment stress.
You can request a moratorium period to stabilize your finances.
✅ Step 3: Negotiate a Settlement Plan
If unable to pay in full, negotiate for a one-time settlement.
Ensure the settlement is approved in writing to avoid future disputes.
✅ Step 4: Avoid Further Defaults
Resume EMI payments as per the new terms to restore creditworthiness.
Set up auto-debit payments to avoid missing EMIs again.
📌 Tip: Avoid ignoring communication from the lender—this helps prevent further escalation.
5. When Should You Seek Legal Help?
If the lender is uncooperative or using unfair practices, borrowers can seek legal assistance. Situations that may require legal help include:
✅ Unfair Interest Charges – If the lender applies excessive late fees beyond RBI guidelines. ✅ Harassment by Recovery Agents – If recovery agents threaten or harass the borrower. ✅ Incorrect Loan Recovery Process – If the lender does not follow proper legal procedures.
📌 Tip: Consult a consumer rights lawyer if facing legal threats over a personal loan default.
6. How to Avoid Loan Defaults in the Future?
Borrowers can take proactive steps to avoid defaulting on a personal loan:
✅ Borrow Within Your Limits – Take a loan amount that fits your repayment capacity. ✅ Track Your EMIs – Use reminders or auto-debit options to avoid missing payments. ✅ Maintain an Emergency Fund – Keep at least 3-6 months of EMI savings for financial stability. ✅ Avoid Multiple Loans – Limit borrowing to reduce debt burden. ✅ Negotiate Early – If struggling, discuss restructuring options before defaulting.
📌 Tip: Use a personal loan EMI calculator before borrowing to plan finances better.
Final Thoughts: Act Quickly to Avoid Legal Issues
Ignoring a loan recovery notice can lead to serious consequences, including legal action, asset seizure, and credit score damage. However, borrowers have rights and options to prevent loan default from escalating into a major financial crisis.
🚀 Key Takeaways: ✔ Loan recovery notices serve as a final warning before legal action. ✔ Ignoring recovery notices can lead to penalty fees, lawsuits, and lower credit scores. ✔ Borrowers have the right to loan restructuring and fair collection practices. ✔ If struggling with repayment, negotiate with your lender early. ✔ Seek legal help if facing harassment or unfair loan recovery methods.
By taking timely action, borrowers can resolve loan issues and regain financial stability. For expert guidance on personal loan management, visit www.fincrif.com today!

Shit I’ve Been Thinking About:
Sooooo…. I forgot some stuffs, so now we got more shit to write about (It’s times like this where I wish I didn’t forget my phone in Doha so I can write in my notes app)
So more on those horns I forgot to add that the busses here have really funny sounds, somewhere between a circus clown nose and a trumpet (just look it up its a treat). Also just in general the horns here just sound different (at least if they’re a Marati Suzuki or another Indian Brand). They sound kinda like a mosquito and honestly it makes sense cuz damn mosquitoes are everywhere here in winter (not in summer tho its actually too hot for them lol. Also it rains a lot so they can’t really fly with water everywhere).
They also have these signs that says shit like “A fast drive might be your last drive” and “speed thrill but kill” (there are more that are written in Hindi, but I’m actually illiterate, cuz i have the Hindi of a 4 year old with anxiety) and I honestly don’t know how to feel about them. Like we have those back in the states, but idk how to feel about those either cuz like true but also what’s with the fuckin slogan? Idk hope it works at least a lil tho.
Also I forgot to say that apparently to refuel a CNG car you need to completely evacuate the car? Idk why tho, I mean my dad said its cuz it might ‘splode but idk how safe it is to be like 2 meters away from the car sized explosion. Also what about you know driving that shit with tiny explosions happening all the time in the car??? Safety is questionable but hey nothing’s blown up yet (maybe my dad was pullin shit out his ass idk).
Also there are so many motorcycles here. I just noticed that from when I saw a guy without a helmet, which dude you’re gonna get your hair wet wtf (it was raining also he was on the highway. Like dude how you not dead?)
Anyway that reminded me that apparently Google Maps has a whole mode for motorcycles, and I only know this because me, my dad, and aunt and uncle had to go to a small town for some legal shit (I guess they didn’t have the budget to make an office in the big city that was made in like 20-25 years or sumthin) And apparently the Uber guy used the Motorcycle path because we went in like the most pothole ridden dirt roads ever, and after the Uber back used actual fuckin roads, which is when we realized what the other dude did.
Oh and another dude tried using the did kind of the same thing, but it was because he used the service roads that are on the side of the big roads (It was somewhere between a Boulevard and a Highway in its design) Anyway, the service roads are basically little dirt roads that off the side of the main road that can go either way instead of the one way each side like on the main road (cuz its divided in the middle and U-turn areas are kinda infrequent) And this guy used it to go to the roundabout but then it only worked for motorcycles because it was just a little ditch at the end that motorcycles could use, so we had to slowly back up until the first merge back into the main road (it took like 10 minutes I think idk it felt like forever and this was last summer so its a lil fuzzy) Anyway tl;dr make sure to check if you’re using the right mode of transportation in Google Maps and don’t use the service roads please.
Additional thoughts I guess? (They don’t really connect to the ones from the post but I wanna talk about it)
Also it actually rained today and I remembered why I love the rain so much. Seriously why did it barely rain on my college campus I’m slightly pissed wtf. And no the rain during monsoon season in summer India doesn’t count cuz that shit lasts like 10 seconds a day (no stop it I know what you’re bout to say stfu) Also either way I can’t hear the rain patter on the roof of my dorm cuz I ain’t on the top floor (thank god cuz it would be a nightmare to do laundry and shit) But I love the patter of the rain on the top of my ceiling back home and in long car rides its great. Also the patter on this train is great too.
Oh ye I also just went on a sleeper train and omg it definitely was an experience. The instant I got on the train I got blasted with the stink from the bathroom omg it was HORRID, and I had to go on the top because my grandparents had to go on the bottom and I actually couldn’t fit on the middle bunk cuz its a lil smaller, and so now I’m stuck on the top bunk which feels like its got negative head room, but hey at least I don’t have to wear my shoes up here lol (at least there is one perk thank god) Also fuck the company that last minute rearranged all of our seats now my cousin and uncles/aunts are stuck in another carriage, and it took like an hour to figure everything out once we got in the train. Oh and the train got delayed like 5 hours (definitely not how I wanted to spend my Christmas Morning. Although I did forget that it was Christmas today sooo…. oop)
Anyway wooo time to go listen to the Ithaca Saga (if you don’t know Epic the Musical go look it up)
Also I just realized I’m missing one earbud like wtf I already lost my phone can’t y’all let me have anything nice???? (At least I have the other one I swear if I loose anything else I’m actually gonna scream)
(Oh yeah a guy called me ma’am today that was nice. I mean it was really dark and rainy and I had my huge ass hoodie on but a win is a win lol)
