I was going through the buddie tag on ao3 for the first time in a little over a month looking for a good fic (I've been in a little but of a reading slump because all the mistagged fics were messing with my head so I took a break from it and only read buddie fics that ppl recommended on tumblr and fics from my other fandoms). And guys I just came across not one but two fics with a eddie diaz bashing tag. I never thought I'd see the day. Ohmigod. All the hen chim and maddie bashing tags were bad enough and I had them filtered but god this random dude really did bring wayyy too much eddie hate into the buddie fandom of all things. Also why are they tagging buddiee if it's not happening. If it's an eddie or buck pining fic then atleast say that it's one sided or use the prerelationship tag(if it applies) instead of tagging the relationship tag. The amount of mistagged fics pisses me off so much.

My brain is so full of Bees about Post-Shift 2.

It's a fan game that was delayed for 4 years -- by the time it released, fnaf fangames as a whole were not as popular as they had been, & most people in the scene had forgotten about Post-Shift 1, so not a lot of people heard about it/played it.

Worse still is the people who did talk about the game. Pretty unanimously, the consensus was this: this game is the craziest, most insane fnaf fangame. It's overly difficult with mechanics that have no rhyme or reason to them & tutorials that are wordy, unhelpful, & sometimes actively mislead the player, meaning you need to comb through a lot of text only to be misinformed. It's not as infamous as some other fangames, but it definitely was talked about very poorly.

In general, I think most of these criticisms were blown up out of proportion, but I can't really disagree with most people's problems -- it is difficult & wordy, & rather hard to understand. I think, however, that the game is still 1. Really fun, 2. Not a bad game at all, &, most importantly, 3. Is a free fucking game that was clearly a passion project. Most damn fangames never get off the fucking ground when made in groups because the creators will never make a red cent off the thing -- this game was made by one dude for 4 years & delivered to people for free. It didn't ask anything of you except to accept it as a difficult game & to not go in with wild expectations. The dev just wanted to make a game that was rough, but he also wanted to make a game that felt unique & was fun. & It is fun, too, is the damn thing.

 Stakeouts had never been Matt’s strong suit. They were boring, tedious and required far too much sitting still and being attentive for long periods of time. It wasn’t that he couldn’t do it, or that he wasn’t any good at it, he just simply hated them and had always pawned it off on someone else whenever possible. Which was easier said than done when working as the Reaper for the Dregs. It had essentially become part of his job description, and no whining and complaining ever seemed to change Kaz’s mind about it. Matt couldn’t count how many times he’d had to listen to the speech of just why exactly they were so important; all he knew was that it had been enough times for him to be able to recite it word for word if he had to listen to it again.

 Today, however, didn’t feel half as tedious as usual. Which probably had a lot to do with the fact that he wasn’t alone. No, Kaz was standing mere inches away from him as they both observed their mark’s movements. A lawyer with some seriously deep pockets, as well as a safe filled with kruge and all sorts of jewels. But the money was secondary. Apart from the kruge and jewels, he also had a list of names in that safe. Clients. But not just any clients — they all were affiliated with the Bronze Vipers. They wanted that list, and they were going to get it. All they had to do was establish his routine, then find a window of opportunity in which they could get in, get what they need, and get out. All unseen and unnoticed, of course.

 And while Matt was focused and on high alert, his gaze did tend to drift over to Kaz more often than not while he was distracted with the binoculars. Matt was highly aware of just how close they stood next to each other while they shared the window in one of the Dreg’s safehouses. They were so close that he could feel the body heat radiating off of Kaz and all he wanted to do was close the gap between them; an urge felt an awful lot lately. Most of the time he could resist, other times, however…

 Annoyed with anything and everything, including himself, Matt let out a sigh and stretched in an attempt to shake off whatever he was feeling. This wasn’t the time and place, and there were more important things that needed his damn attention. “He’s been in his fucking office for hours now. He has to be going to bed soon. If he doesn’t, I might just lose my saintsforsaken mind.”

The letter arrives to name "Eleanor" If pressed, the servant that carried it to her room directly would tell her that it arrived with a lot of other shipments from the interior. That she had been order to deliver it directly for fear that the wine would be confiscated by Berringer. The name would not mean much. How could it, after all, while her memory was stark (which had allowed her to flourish in Nassau) there were quite a few self proclaimed merchants. Though not many that could afford the bottle of Italian wine that was presented atop her table.

Eleanor, I thought to add your last name, but could not pick between the devils you are caught between. "Rogers" for survival or "Guthrie" for nurture. Neither of them fit, so your name is all that remains. You once told me this town exists because of women like us. Fuck God and fuck Men. Would you believe me if I told you those words have stuck with me since? Not because I did not know or believed before but because of how special those times were. How rare of an opportunity we were presented with. It feels like it was in another life, and I find myself believing it was. Azul: "You wound me, Hargreaves. I would never think of rummaging through a lady's belongings. I had Jade pick them up from the cleaner."

Emery: "...I didn't send them out to the dry cleaner."

Azul: "...I said that I would never rummage through a lady's belongings. Floyd is a different story." (Emery debates getting a lock for her wardrobe.)

Vil: (sigh) "Don't worry about that cat. I asked Rook to help get him prepared while I help you."

Emery: "...What?"

Vil: (over at his vanity, gesturing to a stool next to him.) "Sit."

Emery: "Vil--"

Vil: "Sit. Down." (She sits on a stool next him.) "You are one of the housewardens. You can play the part, but when it comes to ceremonies like these, you need to look the part as well."

Emery: "Meaning...?"

Vil: "I'm doing your makeup for this event. If I have to see you smearing soot around your eyes one more time, I will have an aneurysm."

Emery: "...It's not soot. It's just eyeshadow that Riddle gave me--"

Vil: "That's even worse. Now sit still and pay attention, because this is the only time I'll be teaching you how to do this properly."

Last Line Tag

I’ve been tagged by @burntcoffeewhump for the last line tag! Rules are to post the last line (or lines) of whatever you’re working on. Sadly I won’t post the very last lines I’ve written (they’re a bit too spoiler-y) but I’ll post something very near it! 

This is a little segment from the finale of book one of An Iron Blood Tale. (We get Emrik’s POV!)

"Sit," Sindri said, and the guards grabbed Emrik to push him down onto the chair. There was rope, suddenly, and Emrik felt his arms wrenched behind him, forearms lashed to the thick posts of the chair's back, his wrists pulled and bound together. The guards worked hurriedly, as though they wanted to get their hands off him as quickly as possible. For one crazy moment Emrik thought to throw them off before he was fully bound and show them the proper way to wield elven steel—but then he let the thought go. It would be pointless. Even if he avoided the ropes, he was still up three-to-one, and without his magic to boot. Not to mention that he was stranded on a ship and surrounded by Sindri's men, loyalists from his Costravann days. Emrik buried fantasies of driving a blade straight through Sindri's gut as the knots were pulled dangerously tight. The guards stepped away, receding to the doors behind Emrik, standing at attention.

Sindri looked him up and down. "You're looking well," he said. His eyes narrowed. "Surprisingly so."

"Most kind of you," Emrik bit out.
