The fandom mischaracterizes Ricky wayyy too much, not talking about his personality, I mean his character overall

He's disabled, no matter the version of the script (before/after the change) he's still disabled, and he also accepted the fact he was gonna die young(mentioned on his 2016 catchphare) so for some people it means he didn't deserve to live at all?? I've even seen people saying Ricky was completely meaningless during the musical???

INSANE MISCHARACTERIZATION. Ricky deserved to live, just like all the other kids, just because he is disabled and accepted his death doesn't mean he doesn't deserve to live. He also had reasons to stay alive, he also had dreams, Ocean literally says before inag/ijar, "But to say that if one dies young, they die needlessly, that is to discount the years they had. The experiences they had..." DID YOU LEARN NOTHING

Also saying he was useless in the musical is insane. As I said before he had reasons to stay alive, so hes not "useless since he had already accepted his death"(yes, I've seen people say that), but apart from that, he was extremely important on the musical itself?? The whole sabm number was important to Ocean redemption because it was the main piece to make her change her ableist behavior, after that she starts to stop seeing Ricky as a baby. And during tnbs, he was the one to actually hear Jane and -try- to give her a new identity
