I’m forever salty about Jason being nearsighted, it makes no sense to me. It would be so much cooler if he was farsighted, as in he can see extreme distances because he should be flying. Excerpts: [First stints] The opening stint saw graining and high degradation for all runners and lap times rose sharply from around Lap 10 onwards. Therefore Sainz pushed to extend as he thought it was too early to stop. Later, he reported that the graining was improving and lap times may recover. This was important information for Ferrari. Sainz was then called to pit before being undercut by Hamilton so the lap time improvement was crucially not seen by the other teams. [Second stints] As graining emerged on the hard tyre for all three leaders, [they had to decide] when to stop for the final set of hards. Piastri was asked if he thought a one-stop might be possible, but said no. [On Lap 32,] Leclerc is given the ‘box to overtake’ call on Norris as Ferrari looked to attempt an undercut. But Norris then pitted, prompting Leclerc to stay out. He was then told they will extend the stint to build a tyre delta. In the second stint running in largely free air, Sainz pushed Ferrari discussion on the one-stop strategy possibility. The pit wall and Sainz discussed whether they should cover Hamilton’s second pit stop or remain on the one-stop option – with Sainz favouring the latter after reporting that his tyres were still good. At this point the information is given to Leclerc that Sainz is targeting a one-stop strategy. Leclerc agrees that it is the best opportunity to win and immediately begins work on the tyre saving required to pull it off. [McLaren third stints vs Ferrari staying out] [Having boxed with 15 laps remaining,] Piastri needed to average 1.5 seconds per lap quicker [than his pre-stop pace] to make the pit stop beneficial. His first lap after the pit stop was indeed 1.5 seconds faster than before. However, he had five back-markers to overtake as well as Sainz. The back-markers cost variable amounts of lap time and Sainz then cost Piastri around two seconds of race time – which is crucial when considering Piastri only finished 2.6 seconds behind Leclerc at the flag. So although Leclerc then took the plaudits and the glory on the Monza podium, he couldn’t have pulled off such a famous victory without the help of his Ferrari team mate.

can we talk about the brilliant execution of Dot and Bubble's big reveal!!!

i am still absolutely gobsmacked by what a well-written episode Dot and Bubble is. startling, disarming, confrontational, and tremendously impactful. and holy shit i really really want to talk about how excellent the 'twist' (which really should've been obvious in retrospect 😭 was done):

as a white person it took me about ten minutes to clock that Lindy's friend group were a nightmare Aryan Tupperware Party collective: all white, all blue-eyed, and even Gothic Paul was dressed in blues and whites, with no black at all. but you know how i responded to that? mentally i went 'oh i'm sure it's nothing!' and shoved it aside. and i think it is exactly that insidious tendency to ignore, normalise, and validate overt and covert racism that the episode does such a tremendous job of tackling! everything in the episode gives us the lore we need to understand Lindy and the people of Finetime are white supremacists. Lindy's disgusted face and immediate blocking of The Doctor versus the amount of time she spends with Ruby. Lindy's shock at the Doctor and Ruby occupying the same room implying segregation on the Homeworld. Lindy calling the Doctor and Ruby 'criminals' not for being in the Bubble, but for breaking segregation. Lindy using Ricky September, a white influencer, to calm herself down not just from the monsters, but from interacting with a Black person. the tradwife aesthetic of the Finetime residents making a comeback in real-life right-wing racist circles. ugh, there's so much and it was all right in our faces!! yet many of us who aren't POC had the privilege of going through the episode baffled and uncomfortable, without being able to put a finger on why until the final bit of the episode. doesn't that tell us how quickly and easily we've all taken to ignoring both micro and macroaggressions? that we needed talk of being 'contaminated', improper use of the word 'voodoo', and Lindy straight up telling the Doctor that face-to-face contact was unacceptable, to understand they're white supremacists? oh my God 😭😭 what a genius play, to make Lindy so detestable from the start. she's an arrogant, vain, self-absorbed, moronic, uncompromising, traitorous bitch...and by layering that abhorrent personality and then giving us the reveal of her white supremacy, there is no argument even the most wishy-washy of people could have re: their awful views. Lindy and her friends are revolting racists who are so wrapped up in their own echo-chamber 'bubble' that they would genuinely rather be devoured alive than challenge their own narrow, bigoted views. i'm still blown away by the power of Ncuti's final scene. the disbelief, the frustration, the sadness and the fury...and yet the Doctor still tries to save them against all odds. i think the most common response to this episode was 'The Doctor should have gone all Time Lord Victorious on them', and you're right - he should have! but doing that would've affirmed the beliefs of the real-life racists viewers. the Doctor responding not with violence or righteous vengeance is a very deliberate writing choice: we are supposed to come away feeling revolted that he needed to behave that way, to almost be supplicant to the white supremacists. because that is the real-life view of so many people who don't even view themselves as racist: Black people need to 'perform' to a higher standard, than white people just to be considered worthy of respect. the more i watch it, the more i'm convinced this is the best episode of the whole season, and one of the best Doctor Who episodes we've ever had. we were taken off-guard by having an episode overtly about racism set in the future rather than the past, because our tendency is to assume equality is a natural consequence of becoming technologically advanced. this clearly isn't the case, and Dot and Bubble is a masterclass in confronting racism head-on rather than dancing around it for the comfort of white viewers. just. aaargh!!!! absolutely amazing 🔥🔥🔥

Ok, I have an AU idea for Ride the Cyclone that I've been thinking about for a bit. So in honor of Rtc day, I'm gonna explain it so I have the motivation to actually draw it.

The Digital Cyclone AU

After the choir's fall fair show, they find out that there's a new virtual rollercoaster for the fair and they all decide to try it out.

But while they're in the machine a fire starts and it begins to burn down as they fall down the rollercoaster in the headset.

Their consciousnesses transfer into the internet and they meet Karnak (He's kinda like Akinator).

Just imagine the rest of the musical happens the same (with altered lyrics and cooler outfits), but Karnak is lying about being able to bring one of them back to life so he can have a little fun with them before his site shuts down.

So their consciousness transfers into the internet and they become internet games based on their lives and personalities.

Ocean's game is called: Ocean's Perfect Town, where she tries to fix the people of the town with some slightly mean criticisms. (She is a bit nicer than in the actual musical because of her character development, but she's still a little bitchy). You win by fixing everyone in the game.

Noel's game is called: Dress with Monique Gibeau, it's a dress up game. It'd probably be similar to dress to impress, but the themes always revolve around Monique's aesthetic. But with catty comments on your outfit. (I've never played dress to impress so I don't know if they already do this)

Mischa has two games: Bad Eggs's Music and Talia's Painting. Bad Eggs's music is a game where you choose different types of dollar bills and the bills create different combos of music. And Talia's Painting is an art game where Mischa asks you to help him paint a picture for his fiance and then mail it to her.

Ricky's game is called: Battle For Zolar. It's a rhythm game/online dancing game. It's basically a bunch of dance battles with slightly sexual innuendos but enough so that they go over kids heads. xDD

Constance's game is called: Constance's Candy Shop. It's basically a cooking game. You make a bunch of candy for people and if you don't do it at the exact correct time you lose. And it also makes you choose the correct comments to say to people. And if you choose the wrong message your customer gives you a bad rating. The more bad ratings the more your health goes down.

Jane Doe's game is called: Find My Head. It's basically an online Where's Waldo game but for Jane Doe's doll head. But the farther you get in the game, the more the doll starts looking like Penny.

The twist is that at the end of all these games the characters get more deformed/try to ask you to let you out of the games. Kinda like a horror ARG/ like Lacey Games.

I feel like they would say their catch phrases and bits and they would mention the cyclone incident vaguely in their speaking lines.

I'll update in another post once I get more ideas.
