i was wondering if i could request a small drabble or headcanons for ryusui !! i keep having this repeating idea of him with a reader who’s like his childhood friend and ever since they were young, ryusui always tried to pursue them romantically but reader would always just laugh it off, thinking he was joking. but ryusui never gave up on his love for the reader!!

(spoilers for the treasure island arc)

but once everyone on the perseus gets petrified, leaving the reader (who had gone with the recon team to scout the area), reader starts to realize just how much they were worried for him, and especially when he comes back to them in fragments after kohaku smashed him. and the second that he gets revived, the reader is all over him and telling him how worried they were, and the second that the two of them are alone (maybe the team recognized that they were having a moment and let them have it?) reader confesses that they return his feelings and the possibility of possibly losing him helped them realize that? O:

male reader would be preferred (ryusui bi icon frfr), but i dont mind gender neutral!! :D

ever since you were kids you were always the main thing on his mind. he was constantly teasing you and clinging to your side. as you got older it turned into him flirting with you and seeing how far he could push your buttons until you got flustered.

when senku broke him from the stone he was more focused on you than himself, he knew you had an impressive skill set and he used that to his advantage. even if they didn’t have enough revival fluid he brought you along anyways, dressing your statue so when they could revive you, you were ready to go.

when you came to you immediately fell into someone’s arms. their hold on you was firm but also familiar, and their scent was familiar too it was almost comforting. you pulled back to look back at them, and you were met with ryusui smiling down at you “i missed you.”

you laughed and gently removed yourself from his hold “i’m sure you did.” you didn’t notice it but his face slightly faltered.

his flirting was no better when the two of you were alone, as a matter of fact, it was only worse. the two of you sat alone staring at the moon, he spent most of the time staring at you instead of the sky “you’re so handsome, the way you shine in the moonlight is amazing.” you laughed again and rolled your eyes. you always assumed his flirting was just empty words, he was the human version of greed after all he craves everything the world has to offer and he does this to everyone.

“you don’t have to keep saying those things ryusui. i know you don’t mean them.”

he stared at you, no matter how many times he tells you he adores you or how many times he admits how he wants nothing more in the world than you, you never believed him.

at least not until the incident.

when you first laid eyes on his stone body you wanted to scream but you couldn't, the scream was barely louder than a whisper hardly a scream at all. it only got harder when kohaku brought him and the others back as fragments.

the second he was revied the team cleared out and kohaku sent you a knowing glance.

one the two of you were alone you immediately wrapped your arms around him pulling him into a hug "i was so worried about you, i thought i lost you." he returned your embrace and rested a hand on the back of your head pulling you closer to him "you could never lose me." he pressed a gentle kiss to your temple, and for the first time instead of backing away from his affection you accepted it.

you gently pull back from his hug to look at him face to face "i've realized some things."

he raises a brow "and what would that be?"

"how much i care for you, and how much you care for me." his hand moves to gently cup your cheek while his thumb gently caressed your cheek "oh? and how much do i care for you?"

"you've basically spent most of our lives trying to win me over, and every time i never really responded to them or gave you any straight answer. so why did you never give up?"

he smiled at you "that's easy. because i'm the greediest guy there is." your face slightly fell which caused him to chuckle "you didn't let me finish. because i'm the greediest guy there is i know there's no greater treasure than your heart. i'd stop at nothing to make you my boyfriend and to be yours."

My little theory rant

Okay so today I got caught up in some of Tubbo's streams in specific the one on him questioning the one and only "Enjoy the island" Curcurcho. First, I want to say that boy was that highly entertaining to watch like omg Tubbo was killing it.

But from that whole thing we got really useful information on some bits of the lore and shit that goes on in the island. So here are the points that i found the most interesting

FOREVER

like firstly we know that Forever won the election and is given tasks to do in his presidential reign. I personally full on thought he worked with the Federation but he's more like a sub section in the way a towns major or representative might be in a province or state. And Cucurcho basically was like yeah, he's the pres of the island basically but so far, he doesn't have any actual big pres power. Oher than a bit that was given to him by the feds.

WALL AND FED BUILDING

Tubbo then beings to ask about the buildings such as the wall, which until know all we know it was to separate the first people who arrived at the island and that they pushed a red button which left to the destruction of a bit of said wall and the later introduction of the eggs. And the recent random build was built were all build by the qsmp feds. Who in the feds built and for what reason was classified information. (kinda saw that coming as a secret)

Eggs

Now the honestly the most intresting part of the convo was the subject of the eggs. Our dear tubbo asked so many of the right questions. Like if the eggs hatch which honestly in the long game i hope they do because of the headcannon/cannon lore on the eggs looking like the parents being more accurate after hatching. And he touch on the fact of there being more eggs which if you haven't seen Quackity's and Celbits pov we can definitely say there are more eggs.

Though on Quackity's pov it shows more of either the eggs being recreated in a lab and are trying to be replicated. (The egg we see in quackity's pov was A1 who was doing some sort of test and failed.) Or maybe each time a egg fully dies they are revived and have their memory wiped and gets tested again for other reasons. Which is possible cause ElQuackity came back with no recollection of the eggs and most events of the island. With that being said we know for sure that the qsmp febs have something weird to do with the eggs in general and that Quackity also had some to do with the qsmp feds as he was the one who invited everyone to said island.

We also know that just like the first few eggs that appeared to the first few players that arrived in the island were found in a adoption centre just like the one that cellbit found with the hidden room and the book. Could that be why after richas and pomme kinda just appeared to the other parents after awhile? was it that they learned from their mistake? Who knows all we know is that there are definitely more eggs that was first thought and possibly a more secret adoption centres. (This could also maybe tie in the fact that the codes are trying to kill eggs and now trying to be them.)

Juanaflippa is the only egg to be revied throughout the whole smp. Now when tubbo asked about this whole ordeal on getting eggs lives back, Cucurcho first was like that's classified but the was saying no which could be their way of confusing and avoiding the whole question as a whole. This obviously could just be them confused on the question but its still iffy.

Again the whole thing was super interesting.

The Federation

The Federation it self was a crazy clue in its self. Tubbo compared the whole this to the stranger thing for those who don't know Stranger things there is this lab where they experimented on children such. And Cucurcho being all the island is perfect and Tubbo was like agreeing for the most part. Leading to this.

We know that the qsmp Feds what them to enjoy the island but we aren't entirely sure why. This was super interesting to me in the sense of double meaning like yes the island is "perfect" for players and for the most part they are content but there is a whole theory that the reason that they gave them eggs was to distract them but from what? I think its like a whole simulation backroom idea. That the true enjoyers of the island is actually qsmp feds as they have ways to test and recreate certain things and certain people. Again possibly tying the blue bird theory of Jaiden being a escaped backroom project that was later brought back by Quackity's request.

Tubbo again asked a great question that i never really have thought of and I don't see most people wonder this. Do these Cucurcho's have free will. This was question bit was weird back and forth momment of yes they kinda of do have free will to a weird I am a employee of the Federation moment. I would say that for the most part they do have free will in the sense they can walk around and talk with people but have maybe a signal que of other Fed workers looking at them closely to make sure they don't step out of line and do their required tasked kinda of like it you ere told to do something at gun point. I honestly don't know.

They the whole might there be other island.

Its in the name itself. The Federation Census Bureau. The word Bureau itself means a office or department of for transacting a particular action or a government office. Obviously in the context of the book it was used in singularity and not plurality to identify more but it still slightly concerning cause a Bureau it self is a of agreed divided specialties. So it would make sense is that Quisadilla Island to not be the only one in a large network. Again Tubbo be asking the right questions. Also the fact that Cucurcho's answer to Tuboo being like on the idea of more then one island was saying classified was amazing cause it makes it even more believable that there is more island as one island in singularities existence does not need to classified

IN CONCLUSION!! Tubbo was crazy in getting the most general answers and vague questions that allowed us to get at least and idean of wtf is going on with feds and the island. And im sorry for going on this whole rant but i had to get this off my chest so yeah. That whole bit was wild and really had me being like wtf moments

OC-Tober: Day 31. Life Changing Moment

Revy's quest in sailing out to save her Uncle Seer to help Liz and Lex get their father back from the iron clutches of Adda was the most altering journey of her life. The final clash against the Pirate Queen forced Liz and Lex to become the Twinrova of Gerudo Legend, and Revy gave half of her sight in the fight against Onslaught the Dragon. When Bomba sacrificed himself to destroy the unbreakable armour of Onslaught from inside the monster, that gave Revy and Twinrova the shot they needed to finish the fight. All the sacrifice, all the growth, was the Revy's biggest life changing moment.

Medea Hears Some News That Sparked Joy

I gotta tell you, it's getting harder and harder trying to find things that spark joy these days. If you read my 2024 year-in superlative, you knew I had a hard year. It got worse literally the day after I posted that. Ever since, I've been trying to find things to make me feel happy. Recently, it's been video games. And as of recent, it's been Hello Kitty Island Adventure.

Not even five minutes into this game and Badtz-maru made a Snakes on a Plane reference. This game has succeeded.

And for the last two months, this game has been occupying my mind so I can try not to look at the news. Seriously, we're in the stupidest fucking timeline.

Has there been anything else giving me joy? Outside of the cats and this game. No. Even posting reviews isn't sparking that joy right at the moment. Maybe I just need to do one good shit-post to make me feel whole again.

Let's see. An Azumanga Daioh character appearing in a Yotsuba chapter as an adult. Hell yes, that sparks joy.

Well, that's lucky. This might be the last crop of games going to the original Nintendo Switch before we all have to make the SWITCH to 2. I have no hopes really. The game I want will never happen. And Pokemon just did it's direct last month. But okay, whatcha got?

Okay, I got into this franchise a couple of years ago and been enjoying myself with these games. So I'm going to give this one a shot.

Medea, rumor has it that there might be a Mega Evolution for Clefable.

Do what now? Yeah, that does gain my attention. I just feel that adding new mega evos over 10 years after the fact kinda feels ruined in a sense.

And the fighting at night has me raising questions as I'm the kind of person that's dead-ass come 7pm. Regardless, that's still a game I'm gonna play regardless.

I am already thinking of what to have my game consist of with mii characters. Will I do all Pokemon characters or just my favs? Maybe the cast of [redacted] 101. The possibilities are endless at the moment.

So, if you've been following me before I became solely for posting anime reviews, you might remember my little infatuation with a little game called Tomodachi LIfe.

If for no other reason in the world but to have my mii date, marry, and have Tracey Sketchit's mutant mii children.

Priorities!

But when you get down to the nitty-gritty of it, this game was just fun.

I could go on with the pictures I have from my 3DS game because let's face it. I spammed everyone with this. Good times.

With that said, here's what I hope Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream will give the masses.

For those asking, no, I did not create that Inosuke mii. It was just too good to pass up when I found it back then. There was only so much one could do with miis during the 3DS days. This was one of the best things to come from the reboot game. I was able to make characters like Washu, Konata Izumi, Grell Sutcliff, Piers and Marnie look much more than what they would look like circa 2017.

I don't care if the characters decide they want to have babies. Just leave me the fuck out of it. I ain't a babysitter. In short, "Fuck them kids".

Let the miis cuss.

One thing I give Miitopia for is that the characters can say just about anything when they say their "war cry". I was able to get away with having Revy scream out, "eat shit, cocksuckers". Because it's Revy. Having her say anything censored would not be Revy. In Tomodachi Life, I couldn't even say the word "fart".

Shit's sake, I came across nearly all the miis farting at one point or another. The point is, lift up the ban on 'fart' and a couple of other naughty words.

AH! YES, THAT'S RIGHT.

This was...what, 2014? I honestly doubt they'll remember this and I will have to wait another millennia before I can make Harley and Tucker a match-made in gay heaven without having to make Harley into a woman in the game.

Hmmm.. Well, I did say that the World that she ended up in is seafaring-themed. What I meant by that is it's basically a chain of islands with lots of water between them, so sailing is the major mode of transport from one spot to the next. Plus it involves a lot of nautical stuff too... including sea shanties-

As for her crew, we shall give them a proper introduction!

Revi Sorrel is a kobold cleric/ fighter who uses their staff as their weapon. The captain of the crew, they are quite level-headed and adventurous, albeit a bit mischievous at times. They have a cobra familiar named Chant, who is quite calm and helps with levelling out their mischievous streak.

Harpy Hare (or just Hare for short) is a unicorn brawler who was born with extremely weak magic, mostly only able to take on a humanoid form. Despite this, he still uses his horn as a spear, making him quite terrifying in combat. He is extremely determined and can be quite stubborn, but he is quite helpful.

Arne Falk is a harefolk ranger who joined the crew in order to track down the beast that destroyed his town. Extremely good at his job, he is extremely charismatic and daring, if not a little bit fiery. He's also a really good bartender, and gladly helps with relaxing on the crew's downtime days, sharing drinks and telling tales with Rúna!

Also unfortunately, I don't think I could make a fic with her, since that seems a little daunting, although a potential oneshot (or series of oneshots) seems a bit more likely-

5 comfort characters, 5 tags

Let's see, who are my comfort characters?

Nemesis (RE 3/3make) - The man, the myth, the legendary BOW since 1999 that has captivated my heart. Also has a nice ass and a perfect smile and while I liked mons way before him, he is my bias. My 'no shit, sherlock' choice.

Jill Valentine (RE 1/Remake, 3/3make, 5, Rev1, Death Island) - arguably RE's most well trained soldier (don't @ me you know I'm right) who was an inspiration to gamers and can hold her own no matter how long Cap keeps her on forgotten character island. I just find her never give up attitude inspiring.

Revy (Black Lagoon) - look, I adore this toxic woman. She's on that edge of 'are you okay?', while being a rude and and vicious mercenary who wouldn't hesitate to put a bullet in you with an amused smile. Underneath all her shit is a peek at someone just full of emotional scars which is just catnip to me.

Integra Hellsing (Hellsing/Hellsing Ultimate) - I have a thing for hard women, okay? She also locked down herself an all powerful god tier vampire and even without Alucard's help locks shit down, cigar at the ready.

Albedo Piazzolla (Xenosaga I, II, and III) - …oh man is he …unwell. Can't fuckin die, desperate to have his brother's love, and does just the -worst- shit to lash out about this. This game series was the first to have me literally turn off the game in shock (it takes a lot to make me gasp even, think twins + tree) and this guy spurned my love for creepy, tragic yet sadistic villains. Also, he's hot and his theme is awesome, so there. Honorable mentions: Roberta (Black Lagoon) and Rebecca Chambers (RE0, 1/Remake, Vendetta). Polite terminator dressed as a French maid who is loyal to a fault who ticks my tragic and scary woman likes. A tomboyish science nerd that while not as fighty as the other Resi ladies still holds her own (nerds can be bad ass, too! though they did her dirty in Vendetta). I got's a colorful list of straight up baddies, morally grey folks (and depending on how Cap plans to take her Jill being my least morally grey person here ooops) I just find folks fun to pick at an examine which is just comforting to me. Korean Rock Cont.

As a disclaimer, I don't know Korean. I don't know much about Korea. I'm not some Koreaboo who's thirsting for KDA or BTS. My highest level of interaction with Korean is workes like Train to Busan 1(/2), #Alive, and All of Us Are Dead... And judicious googling.

Name:

Far as I can tell, name meanings don't much matter in Black Lagoon. Okajima Rokuro doesn't refer to some hidden depths. It's just a reasonably common name that isn't, like, the Japanese equivalent of Tom, Dick, or Harry.

That said, Okajima can be read as Island Mountain. I'm going with Choi (which apparently means something about owning land near mountains), but I could also go with Jeup, which is apparently a name in NK referring to Koreans that marry Japanese (and could be used to explain away Rock knowing Japanese and knowing a decent amount about the Yakuza).

Rather than trying to learn what each of the Hanja characters means and trying to find a really meaningful name that works to mean Green Son, like Rokuro does, I'm going to be lazy and use a popular name from the 70's, and give Rock two brothers to use the Generational Name aspect of Korean conventions. Specifically, Rock's name is now Sung-Hoon, his older brother is Sang-Hoon, and he has a younger brother named Ji-Hoon.

And, since his name's not Rokuro, so Revy can't shorten it to Rock, and I'm not one to keep details the same between AUs when it doesn't make sense, his new nickname's Koi. Because he bites his tongue when introducing himself, and this way people can make jokes about shooting fish in a barrel and I can allude to the Dragon to Koi pipeline in mythology.

Family & History:

Choi Sung-Hoon is born in August 1970 in Busan. His grandfather tells him war stories, and his uncle and grandfather tell him exaggerated stories about being police officers.

His older brother goes to join the police like his uncle and grandfather. Koi follows his father into business. His younger brother stays with the military after his required service is up.

He grows up idolizing the "action-packed" lives his extended family leads, but he's not quite willing to put himself into that kind of situation without it being out of his control. Because of this, he winds up feeling jealous of his brothers and develops adrenaline-junky habits.

The most exciting time of his life - before joining Lagoon Company - is serving as a border guard during his required service. He even got to be involved in a lowkey border dispute - arguably an international incident that threatened to restart conflicts - during a defection. During this, he sees that he wings one of the enemy, and presumes it leads to the other man's death. He's correct.

It's one of the moments he relies on to keep sane during the drudgery of office work. It's one of his proudest memories.

Then, in 1995, while working for either Hanjin, HMM, or - for some reason - still Asahi, the events of Black Lagoon begin.

Guns and Excitement:

Koi's a bit of a daydreamer when he doesn't have something to focus on. He's also a big fan of Westerns, Noire, and Buddy Cop films. He craves but is terrified of the excitement in his daily life. One of the reasons he takes on some of the more... hasty or idiotic actions in his life is to lowkey chase the thrills he sees Revy regularly take part in.

One of the most apparent representations of this particular interest is his mild obsession with the primary firearm of the Korean police force at the time, the S&W Model 19. He even buys one in an omake-style "after credits scene" for the arc Calm Down, Two Men, where Revy walks in on him posing with it.

Revy showing him the finer points of gunslinging is a consistent aspect of background action. It's a source of noodle incidents and a diegetic explanation for why Rock is able to shoot semi-decently when it finally comes up, and why he's able to keep his cool more and more as the series progresses.

As to when Rock is shown actively participating in the action... I'm reticent to provide a fine point on this. I think there are a number of good moments that could be used for the overall timeline we're presented with.

Personally, though, I might go with the Dance of Death Arc, to give weight to the people around Koi's feelings that he's being corrupted by his stay in Roanapur. Or maybe Fujiyama Gangsta Paradise, if Koi's still contracted for that job.

It could work for Wire Red Wild Card, too. Have him give the finishing blow to one of the brothers.

whatever the case, I think it's important to show his competence with firearms in this AU. Even if it's only him being shown to be doing maintenance on the various, more generic weapons available to Lagoon company. Even if it's as a final act for the series...

Yut lung lee & Rock

“ So I heard you went to lunch with Mr Chang” Rock brings up. “ He’s only using you, as a pawn in his little game” 

“ You think i’m not aware of it” Yut Lung downs another glass of champane“ I’ll use him as well.” 

The boy pauses thoughtfully 

“Mr Chang is being backed by someone powerful, otherwise your little Island wouldn’t remain so cut off from the rest of the world” Yut Lung gives  him a knowing look. “Those types wouldn’t give a gangster like Chang a second thought, unless they saw benefit” 

“ Yes,I noticed that myself as the pieces of the puzzle are there but I cann’t quite figure out where the last one goes” Rock admits. 

“ Should we figure it out together then?” 

“ You should leave this life” 

Yut Lung sighed “ This again? Why  do you care so much about what I do” 

“ Its just, that  girl who died in the room.. ….Your the only proof she ever existed. That makes you the last piece of her….doesn’t that make you precious?” 

Yut Lung laughed “ What an idoltically romantic notion” he took another sip “ My mother was precious….I’m just another filthy Lee” 

 “ But your only half Lee, so by that argument  some part of you must be good” Rock argues. 

“ I’m a monster like Ash Lynx……which is why the two of us are fated to be locked in a struggle for control of New York” 

“ People create their own fates their not dictated by God or some dice. People choose how they want to live” Rock argued. 

 “ You must know what my name translates to, given your department” 

Rock nods  “ Moon, Dragon” 

“ Its my destiny  to rule the Night” 

Rock flashes back to Yukio raising the sword to her chest and resists the urge to flinch. 

“ Do you even like the Night?” 

“ It has its uses allowing me to hide under the cover of darkness.” There’s a hesitance there as if Yut Lung wants to say more. “ No….the Night suits me” 

“ You don’t sound to sure…. “ Rock resists the uge to gloat. 

Yut Lung turns to him “ Let me tell you something Rock was it? I intend to give Ash back to Golzine so he can rise to the top as a demon. It is my wish to fight such a beast” his eyes darken “ He shouldn’t be wasting his time playing at friendship with some Japanese boy” 

“ Sounds like your projecting some ideal notion onto this Lynx guy” Rock remarks. “ Is that not also Romanticism?” 

“ You do realize I sent your friends to their deaths” Yut Lung’s eyes narrow. 

 “ That may of been your intent, to engage in warm and cold bodies like your brothers…..” 

He pauses. 

“ I think you’ll find a very different result then you exspected. After all you challenged Revy and Shenhau's pride.”
