When he heard footsteps coming down the stairs, Kol was sitting in a chair looking through a spell book. He swiveled the chair to face Hope, who had just hit the bottom step. "Well, well, well, aren't we trying and failing to be sneaky, now, Hope? Surely you wouldn't be sneaking out to do something mischievous now, would you? Klaus made it clear you were to stay at the compound," Kol said.

Seeing the annoyed look on his niece's face, he smirked. "Of course, he never said anything about leaving with someone who can keep an eye on you; now, what mischief are you up to, and when did we begin? I need some excitement."

i  will  have  a  proper  carrd  and/or  verse  page  one  day,  but  until  then,  i’ve  finally  done  some  rough  drafts  of  the  ones  living  rent  -  free  in  my  mind  :

main  verse.      this  is  based  heavily  around  everything  outlined  on  his  stats  page.  to  ensure  his  survival,  esther  resurrected  ansel  using  an  amended  version  of  the  original  vampire  creation  spell.  this  brought  him  back  with  original  qualities,  including  being  harder  to  kill,  meaning  while  he  did  die  in  klaus’  arms  when  son  killed  him,  he  only  appeared  as  such  until  body  later  healed.  he  now  continues  to  remain  in  new  orleans  /  re  -  building  his  pack  /  attempting  to  connect  with  his  eldest  /  protect  the  family,  etc.  lives  in  a  little  cabin  in  the  bayou  woods  that  he’s  mostly  built  with  his  own  hands  after  finding  it  abandoned  and  falling  down.

past  verse.      set  in  canon  past  timeline  /  before  the  originals  became  the  originals.  ansel  is  a  much  -  respected,  powerful  chief    &    alpha  to  the  north  east  atlantic  werewolves.  you  know  the  rest!

other  side  verse.      set  throughout  the  thousand  plus  years  ansel  spent  on  the  other  side,  generally  spent  watching  over  niklaus.  not  likely  to  be  used  often,  but  could  be  fun  to  explore,  especially  during  those  times  the  barrier  went  down.  

hybrid  verse  i.      suspecting  what  would  happen  when  their  son  was  reunited  with  ansel,  esther  didn’t  only  resurrect  ansel  using  the  original  vampire  creation  spell.  she  also  ensured    (  unknowingly  to  them  both  )    he  came  back  with  klaus’  blood  in  his  system.  this  meant  when  klaus  inevitably  killed  ansel,  he  returned  as  a  hybrid.    ⸻    and  needing  elena’s  blood  to  complete  the  transition.  open  for  plotting  /  affiliate  with  canon  divergent  elena’s,  or  main  go  -  to  is  that  esther  kept  a  supply  of  her  blood  ever  since  the  mikaelson  ball.  this  was  also  an  attempt  from  esther  to  keep  ansel  dependent  on  her,  but  that  def  didn’t  last  long  after  he  got  what  he  wanted.  

no  emotions  verse.      some  point  after  his  resurrection,  either  the  pack,  klaus  or  hope  became  in  danger,  and  ansel  made  a  deal  with  an  ancient  witch  that  would  help  them.  in  exchange,  the  witch  demanded  he  sacrifice  what  mattered  to  him  most.  believing  this  would  be  his  wolf,  ansel  agreed.  it  was  worth  it  for  them.  in  doing  so,  the  witch  realised  he  cared  more  about  them  than  he  did  his  wolf,  and  instead,  took  his  ability  to  feel.  he  now  continues  to  live  but  is  completely  detached  from  the  things  that  previously  made  him  who  he  is;    his  loyalty,  his  love  and  his  bond  to  family.  it  is  technically  the  equivalent  to  a  vampire  switching  off  their  humanity.  he  feels  nothing,  but  exists  nonetheless.

hybrid  verse  ii.      after  a  life  -  threatening  injury,  hope    (  nklsdttr  )    turns  ansel  into  a  hybrid  using  her  blood.  there  is  really  only  1%  chance  ansel  would  willingly  agree  to  be  a  hybrid  /  part  -  vampire  because  he’s  such  a  proud  wolf,  but  turns  out,  that  1%  would  absolutely  be  for  hope  because  that’s  his  grandchild.  

au  verse  i.      a  really  simple  didn’t  die  verse.  this  isn’t  fleshed  out  a  whole  lot  because  it  feels  like  it  could  be  plotted  /  affiliated  more  with  others,  but  the  general  idea  is  he  survived  mikael’s  onslaught.  he  was  there  when  klaus  arrived,  and  has  been  by  his  side  since.  very  actively  worked  to  try  and  help  his  son  break  the  curse.  sorry,  folks.  

au  verse  ii.      another  didn’t  die  verse,  but  for  whatever  reason,  klaus  and  ansel  became  estranged.  similar  to  his  behaviour  on  the  other  side,  ansel  still  stayed  klaus,  watching  over  his  son  from  afar.  in  both  these  verses,  ansel  lived  this  long  through  magic    &    the  loyalty  he  earned  as  chief  from  a  powerful  line  of  witches.

the  hunger  games  verse.      ansel  won  the  41st  annual  hunger  games,  aged  15,  representing  district  7.  though  he  wasn’t  raised  in  a  career  tribute  district,  he  might  as  well  have  been,  kept  locked  away    &    forced  to  endure  severe  training  by  a  father  determined  to  make  a  winner  out  of  his  son.  by  the  time  he  was  reaped,  the  games  were  almost  an  escape.  he  then  went  on  to  be  a  mentor  to  blight,  and  possibly  johanna.  as  he  grew  older,  he  became  a  respected  figure  amongst  the  district,  as  their  local  blacksmith  and  chief.  though  he  wasn’t  mayor,  due  to  a  strong  dislike  for  politics,  he  was  perhaps  considered  more  the  people’s  leader.  recognising  his  ability  to  gain  people’s  trust,  ansel  became  one  of  the  many  victors  put  out  for  sale  amongst  panem’s  wealthiest.  during  a  visit  to  district  two,  ansel  met  and  fell  in  love  with  their  head  peacekeeper’s  wife,  fathering  a  child  named  klaus.  he  later  returned  to  his  own  district  and  married  himself.  the  pair  had  several  children.  the  bigger  his  family  got,  the  harder  snow’s  demands  became  to  meet.  in  the  end,  ansel  refused.  as  a  result,  head  peacekeeper  mikael    (  who  always  suspected  the  affair  )    was  sent  to  murder  ansel’s  family.  it  was  supposed  to  inspire  ansel  to  never  rebel  again.  instead,  it  only  encouraged  him  more  and  he  became  the  first  to  engage  when  war  started,  leading  the  people  of  district  7  in  their  rebellion,  as  well  as  providing  hand  -  crafted  weapons.  

supernatural  verse.      ansel  is  the  elusive  /  never  seen  alpha  werewolf,  aka  the  first  werewolf.  i  really  don’t  have  anything  else  here  yet,  but  that’s  the  long    &    short  of  it.

Why, I never thought you’d ask! (looks like you saw my post not-so-secretly hoping someone would tag me 😉 Tumblr was giving me issues putting pictures in an ask reply so I’m just doing it this way.

I hope sims based on existing fictional characters count, because I think it’s pretty obvious my favorite sim is Laegrinna!

Laegrinna is the Devil’s daughter and the protagonist of Deception IV: Blood Ties, a game in which the object is to lure enemies into deadly traps. Which, thankfully, she has yet to do in my Sims ga-

WHERE DID YOU GET THOSE TORTURE DEVICES I swear I turn my back for one second and-

*ahem* Anyway. She sets these traps using magic, so naturally, in my game she is an evil witch. She runs a magic shop called The Witching Hour with her sister Velguirie, in which various relics, reagents, and items of questionable origin are sold.

Laegrinna is way more outspoken in the Sims world than in Deception. I originally gave her the Knowledge aspiration, but once she opened her shop and started raving to everyone about the wonders of eye of newt and viper venom, I found she gets along rather well with people, even if for all the wrong reasons. These are her stats:

I want her to run more (evil) businesses, so I changed it to Popularity. Which had the added benefit of a third chemistry bolt with her fiance, Zeno.

Zeno Shin is a major enemy in Deception IV that you - as Laegrinna - kill in order to retrieve the 12 Holy Verses and resurrect your father, but I am a sucker for enemies-to-lovers AUs, so in my head and in my Sims game she spared his life and he fell under her wicked spell, entranced by her ethereal beauty. He must have managed to melt that icy heart of hers a bit because they are quite passionate....

Laegrinna knows damn well how beautiful she is because that girl is FOREVER (autonomously) checking herself out in the mirror. Also, as I’m sure you’ve noticed, she has heterochromia - one gold eye and one blue. Her favorite color is a deep sapphire shade of blue, so whenever I recolor something that suits her style I’m sure to make it in that color for her or else she might drop a giant ball of spikes on my head or something.

On the rare occasion I actually play the game I have aging off (Laegrinna is immortal anyway) and take things slow with my favorite characters - I don’t want it to end, I guess - so that’s why Laegrinna & Zeno aren’t married yet. I’m starting over Crescent Cove once I’ve overhauled all my CC, so I'll be playing the Deception characters from the beginning again.

I’m just going to be lazy and tag any simmer who sees this because I know a lot of people have done it already 😄

hii thank you !! 😭 let's see. Most of the ocs i play with in ifs come from different original verses/other media because i always get attached and never can scrap or leave them behind ever lmao

i think the best example of this is fred !! personality-wise i never change my ocs much if at all between aus, but..

originally, frederick came from a little story i was writing when i was 11 🧎 he was the main characters' best friend! a few years ago i resurrected that group of ocs and made their canon (a little bit) less cringy and more to my current tastes!! so, in his canon verse, fred is a werewolf in a modern setting. he has a group of friends where all but two of them are fellow monsters + he's starting a career(?) as a t/witch streamer, he plays games and is well known for serenading people over in-game voice chat. his dream is to be a famous musician, but he takes things one day at a time and enjoys his life as is :)

his second most important verse is pretty much the same as the original, except he's human and living with a housemate, emille (who belongs to a friend of mine). his internet popularity skyrockets when the two of them start fake dating after a few instances of his chat going crazy when em walked into fred's room practically nude during streams. it's a very self-indulgent oh my god they were roommates + fake dating + idiots to lovers + fwb but they catch feelings + seemingly unrequited requited pining kind of ship LMAO

there's also a dnd version of him! he's a half-elf and multiclasses as bard and lycan blood hunter 🥴 archery specialist! he was basically turned into a werewolf against his will by an ex boyfriend that turned out to be a weird cult leader. he was more than a bit traumatized at the start of the campaign but he hid it all behind his flirty smiles and catchy songs. he ended up well though!! got his revenge and a lot of help from his friends and ended up with two wizard boyfriends 🙏

then uh. there's a red vs blue au. because i used to love that show so much when i was a teen 😔 he was agent nebraska and i shipped him with north dakota. he was a very cocky infiltration specialist and he didn't have an a.i.!

then i played mystic messenger with him !!! he was on v's route 💙 he had traveled to korea for some sort of esports event and then got kidnapped by mint eye i guess. it happens

then i also put him in the arcana, muriel's route! except i was (am) so attached to my canon apprentice and her route that rather than have him be asra's apprentice as well, i decided he was an old time friend of them; a traveling monster hunter. it made me have to ignore a lot of the narration/dialogue that wasn't applicable to him but morga also gave him a magic bow so 👍

lastly!!! we have his ifs :) i knew i wanted him in evenfall after learning about harlow and his possible relationship with the mc. in his original verse, fred had more unsuccessful/toxic relationships than healthy ones, so the kind of dynamic their story can provide is delicious to me. i also ship him with lucky because, whether he does it consciously or not, fred is definitely an "i'll annoy you into falling in love with me" kind of guy. he'll just be Very fun to play here i think kfbgkd

blood moon is the last verse i put him in!! because werewolf, of course. he's not the alpha because he was never much of a leader, and i ship him with farroq because a) he's lovely b) the fast pace of their relationship is hilarious to me c) fred would def see a hot man at a bar, try to bed him, and somehow end up becoming a surrogate father in the process. he likes kids! and tall men! and dilfs :)

oh i guess he's also kind of in attollo? one of my mc's, chelon, is his cousin and he's the one she's searching for lmao

I FINALLY TYPED UP ALL THE BUFFY CROSSOVER VERSES (and have added them to my verse page/tab):

Note:  Within the Buffy verse, Lilith’s background/origin story is exactly the same as it is in CAOS (that is, anything that happened before the first episode of CAOS).

BtVS: Ms Wardwell (Season 3)

Lilith arrives in Sunnydale  due to the increase of powers in Willow. The Jewish witch is of a point of interest to both Lilith and the Dark Lord, with the latter wanting her to sign his Book of the Beast, rather than choosing to turn to Hecate for power. Lilith is sent to Sunnydale by the Dark Lord in order to get Willow to sign the Book. She poses as new history teacher ‘Mary Wardwell’ and soon reveals herself to be a witch, offering to help them when she ‘happens upon’ the Zombie Cat in the library, and quickly establishes herself in the group and begins to work on growing close to Willow. However, during her time at Sunnydale High, she quickly falls in love with a mortal, Adam, who, when she wants to run away with him, is killed by the Dark Lord. Angry and grieving, Lilith switches sides. If the Dark Lord wanted the Mayor to succeed in his Ascension to help bring about his prophetic apocalypse, then Lilith was going to make sure it never happens. She reveals who she really is to the Scoobies and tells them why she was sent there and that she wants to help. Destroying the Mayor would help keep Lucifer trapped, which means their interests are fully aligned. She leaves the town after Graduation. 

BtVS: Queen of Hell (Season 5)

Since she was last in Sunnydale, a lot of the course of Part 1 and 2 of CAOS has happened, culminating in the defeat of Lucifer and Lilith has become Queen of Hell. As Queen, Lilith has felt and recognised a risk to the balance in the realms (unbeknownst to her, what she felt was the act of the monks making the Key into Dawn Summers). Arriving back in Sunnydale, she instantly recognises Dawn for what she is-- being in another realm her memories were not effected-- but, hearing that a Hell Goddess is involved in the entire thing, and that this is all much bigger than she expected, Lilith volunteers her help, choosing to remain in Sunnydale to help them defeat Glory. As she is not human, she is able to remember ‘Ben is Glory’, and is very pro-kill-Ben, and her presence at the final battle, while it makes a significant difference, is not enough to stop the portal. As the Key pure energy, even Lilith doesn’t have the power to close it. When Buffy dies, she tries to resurrect her, but finds her soul is beyond Lilith’s reach; something which convinces Willlow etc that Buffy is some torturous dimension. Lilith takes the things that slipped out of the hell portal (such as the dragon) to Pandemonium with her, when she leaves after Buffy’s secret funeral. 

BtVS: Curse of Humanity (Season 6)

Inspired by my CAOS AU verse, Banished. Having carried Lucifer’s son in order to bide her time to save her own life, Lilith’s love for her son, and her refusal to see him taken and abused by the Dark Lord, sees her gain her son and her freedom, but lose much of her powers. Now, with few innate powers, feeling little more than a cottage witch, and cursed with humanity (doomed to age as she wasn’t before), Lilith returns to Sunnydale to find not only that Buffy is back, but Giles is gone and everything is falling apart. Granted a place for her and Adam to stay, despite her efforts, Lilith’s finds herself slipping into the ‘parental’ role within the group. However, when Tara is killed, Lilith, without her powers, can’t resurrect, and, by her own moral compass, thinks Willow is perfectly justified in her vengeance. Ending the world, however? Lilith is a little less fond of that one. (When Xander talks her down, Lilith uses a spell to drain Willow’s ‘stolen’ power and give it to herself, restoring Lilith’s power status. This is, however, an aspect that is up to the decision of other muses as I know it’s a big story-changer. Alternative option is Lilith uses the power of what Willow almost summons for the apocalypse like a power divergence)

BtVS: Finale Battle (Season 7)

With the ultimate apocalypse ahead, Lilith turns up in Sunnydale to help, simply because they’ve helped her in the past. She also isn’t exactly keen on a vampiric end of the world. And, as the First Witch, and having been around long enough to have actually witnessed the First Slayer being made, and has been around almost as long as the First Evil, she has first-hand information that no one else can possibly have. However, in her time away she has been living in the infernal dimensions where time moves differently, and when she arrives on Buffy’s doorstep it is a with a grown-up Adam in tow. Adam, despite being there to help, has supernatural charm and infernal good looks that distracts more than a few Potentials. He claims he can’t turn it off, but Lilith suspects that’s not true. Lilith primarily helps Willow with all things magic-based, and, when it’s time to make every Potential a Slayer, Lilith and Adam both hold Willow’s hand to give her the strength and help she needs, their powers joining.

WANT. || So this is my copying-Lia post about the things that I really want to do! If you have any interest in doing any of these sorts of things, let me know! 

VERSES. || 

BODY JUMPER AU. || I have two body jumper AUs which take place and diverge directly at Kol’s death in TOs2. The show doesn’t take into account that Kol had made friends with a lot of witches, and in fact, may have had one of the best relationships with the witches out of his family, even in modern times. These AUs take this into consideration and play out with there being a handful of New Orleans Ancestors who are willing to give him one last chance at life. They find the supernatural being in NOLA who died the closest to Kol’s death and placed his soul inside, giving him a second lease on life. In these arcs, Kol generally stays away from his family, not wanting to get sucked back into their dysfunction. This is the first time he’s alive that there isn’t someone putting a shackle around his ankle.  These arcs also don’t by default use the Kolvina arc; he doesn’t go looking for her right away ( unless plotted otherwise )

Crescent Wolf Arc: the creature who died soonest after Kol was a Crescent wolf named David

Quarter Witch Arc: once again, Kol’s in the body of a Quarter witch, though this time, he doesn’t know how tangled he wants to get into his family’s dysfunction.

REINCARNATION AU. || One of my faves! — I say that about everything. Anyway, this diverges in TOs3 when Davina sacrifices herself to take down the Ancestral hold on the living, after Freya had sabotaged her resurrection. In this, Kol refused to leave Davina’s side when she asked him to, and helps her take down the Ancestral hold while their souls are caught in the backlash. The amount of cosmic power created by an Original soul being damaged while the Original body was not was enough to get the attention of bigger entities, and they chose to give Kol and Davina a second chance. About nine months later, give or take, two Salem witches are born in Massachusetts. Kol is reincarnated as Adrien Harwood, a direct descendant of powerful Salem witches who had come from Celtic witches traced back to at least a thousand years.  Because his soul is, in fact, so old, the cosmic wall between this incarnation and his last has been beginning to crumble down, and Adrien is beginning to understand who he was in another life. 

He doesn’t know 100% about Kol, but he’s been having more and more vivid dreams about his past life due entirely to the fact that his soul was alive in one incarnation for a thousand years, and the walls between lives were not made to hold that much information back.

The Davina reincarnation doesn’t have the same issue, or has not had it yet. 

Only character who is locked down in this verse is @seesgood​‘s Caroline as Adrien’s aunt. 

HERITAGE AU. || Based on this prompt, Kol was never Esther and Mikael’s to have. He found out when Mikael had been hunting his family, but he had a block put up in his mind in order to continue the charade for his own safety. When he was killed in TVD and resurrected in his original body in TO, the block was broken. He kept this secret until a strong magic broke the blood bond that had been put on him at the time of his birth, allowing his true heritage to show through. Now... he has to deal with it.

This verse can take place before the blood bond breaks or before, depending on plot

In this verse, Kol was born to a young Celtic couple; his mother had asked Esther and Aya to midwife her birth as she had had a difficult pregnancy. She had died during the birth, and Aya had convinced Esther to use the baby to heal her crumbling marriage. Esther blood-bound Kol to Elijah — why they look the most physically similar in the family — and used magic to convince everyone that she had been pregnant that summer. She told Kol’s biological father that the baby had died with the mother during the birth. 

Mikael found out about this when he was Turned, the memory spell on him breaking ( though it did not break on the others since they had been so young when it was placed on them ) which was why, when Kol was traveling with himself, Mikael didn’t care. Kol wasn’t his to worry about, but he also wasn’t a symbol of Esther’s infidelity. He just wasn’t his. 

ASGARD AU. || When Kol was born, she dedicated him to the Norse god Loki, one of the gods of magic. And the god had accepted. When Kol was turned, desperate to find magic again, he went in search of his patron. After a forever of looking, Loki came to him and, recognizing his own blessing upon the vampire, realized that they were both in a bit of a predicament. Kol was neither fallen, nor mortal, nor had a place in the hall of warriors. So he instead brought Kol to Asgard as his ward. Kol has been in and out of Asgard since this time, studying every kind of magic, of man and beyond, in any realm that will allow him in. His ultimate goal? Return to humanity and to magic itself.

Kol often acts as a messenger for Loki or other gods, though there are no stories written about him. 

His family assumed he was dead until he showed back up in the 1700s with no explanation for where he had been.

This is a rather long post, so you can find the verses under the cut! They will be divided in three categories: Main, AU and Canon Divergent.

More verses will be added to this post and to the blog itself as they are created.

MAIN

AGE: 8-11 (Physical Appearance) TIMELINE: Canon Universe POSITION: Naraku's servant / Plotting to overthrow Naraku The canon verse everyone is familiar with, in here Hakudōshi was originally Naraku’s human heart, the Infant, before being split in half by a dying priest, from which the right half of it grew into Hakudōshi. He is a deceiving, manipulating little devil that doesn’t hesitate to kill his preys but also enjoys to play games and torture them, he often gets his hands dirty and doesn’t mind it and appears to be an incarnation who is almost as loyal to Naraku as Kanna is. He is also very clever and usually is several steps ahead from his enemies. He has, however, his own agenda and eventually plots with his other half to overthrow his creator and take his place. Interactions with this verse will vary between the Hakudōshi that is a loyal servant to Naraku and the Hakudōshi that is already plotting the betrayal with his other half, it will all depend on the plot of the thread. I am fine with the interactions between our Muses being hostile and harsh, Hakudōshi is a villain after all! Since the canon material with him isn’t much, a lot of things will be headcanon based, especially when it comes to his betrayal towards Naraku as personally I think the reasons for his betrayal were a bit bland and empty.

AU

AGE: 11-12 TIMELINE: Early 2000's POSITION: Heir of the Makai Company, one of the most wealthy families in Japan. An AU where the series characters are all humans and no demons exist. Hakudōshi Makai is the 11 year old son of Naraku Makai and Kikyō; the couple went through a complicated and harsh divorce but through the corrupt system, Naraku gained the full custody of his son and made it so his now ex-wife could never see their son ever again. Prior to these events, Hakudōshi was extremely close to his mother and thus her leaving left an empty feeling on the boy. This and Naraku's manipulation over him lead to Hakudōshi believing that every relationship is meant to be doomed sooner or later and that the concept of a happy family does not exist. The Hakudōshi of this verse does not possess the same manipulative and cruel nature of his canon counterpart, however, he can be cold and even distant sometimes. He eventually opens up to others but it takes time. During free time, between Junior High School lessons and education regarding the family's business, Hakudōshi practices kendo and also horse riding lessons, he has a horse of his own a white mustang named Entei, he has owned it ever since it was a foal, and it was a gift from his mother. It is a gift he treasures dearly.

AGE: 19 (Biologically) | 12-13 (Physical Appearance) TIMELINE: x784 POSITION: Half-Demon | Former slave of the Tower of Heaven | Independent Mage An AU created for interactions within the Fairy Tail universe. Hakudōshi is a half-demon who during his early childhood was captured and taken by a Zeref following cult, for the same purpose as the other kidnapped children by them: build the Tower of Heaven to resurrect Zeref. During the rebellion led by Erza Scarlet, Hakudōshi escaped by using one of his abilities: Teleportation, once he was freed from the Magic Stealing Stones, instead of joining the rebels. After escaping, Hakudōshi set on to his main goal: find his twin brother, Akago, whom he had protected and prevented from also being captured by the cult. Due to his half-demon genes, Hakudōshi's body grows “slower” than the average human or demon, although his age keeps up with that of a human, his current appearance is of a child. This often leads to other people, wrongly, looking down on him when he takes up job offers. Although he possesses other abilities, his main magic is named Reversal Magic which is essentially a magic that allows Hakudōshi to absorb Caster type Magic into a barrier and then redirect it back to his opponent. It doesn’t work with Holder type Magic. With training, Hakudōshi develops other minor abilities which are connected to his demon side.

AGE: 19 TIMELINE: 2010 onward POSITION: Vampire turned by Naraku | College student An AU verse in which the main focus is supernatural stuff, this means, vampires, werewolves, ghosts, witches, etc. It is loosely based on The Vampire Diaries/The Originals series. Hakudōshi is an adult in this verse and his features remain the same as his canon counterpart: white hair, pale skin, violet eyes. Hakudōshi prior to his transformation was a normal boy, 19 years old, who had just entered college. Distant, not very social, generally quiet but quite intelligent those were the words that described him. His life turned completely upside down when one day he stayed till late at the school’s library, studying, and at some point heard noises, moans and what appeared to be screams coming from one of the classes. Upon investigating, he caught one of his teachers feeding on a student, literally feeding. The teacher, Naraku, realized the extra company at the room and decided to silence the boy. But Naraku realized who it was, one of his favorite students and instead of simply killing him, he decided to toy with him. Feeding him his blood and then snapping his neck, the vampire left Hakudōshi alone at the school along with his now dead victim, blood dripping to the floor. When he woke up from his temporary death, it was night and Hakudōshi felt an inexplicable thirst, not for water but for blood. He saw the dead student and without being able to control himself drank the remaining blood but it was not enough, it only made him more thirsty. This lead to him going to his house and murdering his family, only coming to his senses when it was already too late. Naraku watched him the whole time in delight and attempted to approach his most recent creation, to gain control over him, but Hakudōshi rejected his control and escaped, using and discovering his new inhuman abilities. With his emotions extremely amplified and still not understanding what had happened to him, he soon discovered he could no longer walk in the sun, it burned him and so he had to hide during the day and hunt at night, to quench his thirst. His path eventually crosses with that of Kohaku, a supernatural hunter trained from a young age to kill especially vampires like him. Despite having been taught to hate and kill these bloodthirsty monsters, Kohaku noticed the despair of the vampire and choose to help him control himself, teaching him a new diet not human based and eventually provided him a ring which allowed Hakudōshi to walk in the sun. Hakudōshi, after turning into a vampire, becomes extremely sardonic and doesn’t easily trust anyone. Being ironic is what he does best, he berates others, mocks them. This was his way to protect himself and the only one who succeeded so far in breaking that shell was Kohaku, although that only happened because he spared his life.

CANON DIVERGENT

AGE: 8-11 (Physical Appearance) TIMELINE: Post Ep.1 of Inuyasha: The Final Act / Chap.370 POSITION: Escaping from Naraku and The Infant This verse starts with a twist on the first episode of Inuyasha: The Final / on chapter 370, in this verse Hakudōshi doesn't die at the hand of Miroku's Wind Tunnel. Instead of losing his mind and trying to kill Kagura at any cost, Hakudōshi uses his miasma in order to escape from his enemies while his body keeps regenerating to its normal state; later he reunites with the Infant and Mōryōmaru in order to set up a new plan to get their hands on Kohaku's shard, the wicked Infant however has other plans for his "brother". With Naraku now being aware of their betrayal, the Infant states that he no longer needs Hakudōshi's help and that it is time for them to become one once again by having Mōryōmaru absorb him into his body, just like he had intended to do with Kagura. Hakudōshi refuses and they engage in a battle which ends with him barely escaping but successfully retrieves the jewel shard in Mōryōmaru's belly. The demon child is now completely alone, no allies and a lot of enemies with two of them constantly trying to capture him and kill him (Naraku and the Infant); this leads to Hakudōshi not trusting anyone he crosses paths with and being even slightly paranoid especially after he realizes the Infant is trying to enter inside his mind, to take over his body as well, and that he also has some sort of control over his regenerating abilities, slowing it down and making it far more painful. Hakudōshi eventually sets on a goal to find a way to create his own heart so that he can sever his connection to the Infant and eventually kill both his other half and Naraku.

EXCLUSIVE WITH: konosesshomaru AGE: 8-11 (Physical Appearance) TIMELINE: Between the events of the Devil’s Crag and Kagura’s death. POSITION: Traveling with Sesshōmaru's group A variant verse of "Abandoned". Naraku discovers earlier Hakudōshi’s and the Infant's plans to overthrow him; he absorbs the Infant back inside him and to make his former right hand man physically suffer, gives him a heart of his own so that real wounds -that actually take a long time to heal- can be inflicted on the child. Hakudōshi has no choice but to flee for his life as Naraku's demons chase him and he ends up being rescued by Sesshōmaru, who then makes the decision to take him under his wing at least until the boy's wounds are healed. Afterwards, he leaves it up to Hakudōshi to decide if he wants to stay with them or not. With Naraku now constantly chasing after him, Hakudōshi chooses to stay and travel together with Sesshōmaru and his group.

EXCLUSIVE WITH: thecursedpriestess AGE: 8-11 (Physical Appearance) TIMELINE: After Hakudōshi was pierced by Kikyō's arrow POSITION: Loyal to Kikyō | Travels with her After being pierced by Kikyō's arrow, shot by Kagome back in the Underworld, Hakudōshi is sired to the priestess due to her spiritual power having made some sort of connection with 'the Onigumo in him' instead of killing him -since his heart was somewhere else-. Afterwards Hakudōshi begins to feel strange whenever Kikyō is mentioned and no matter how hard he tries, he can't hurt her neither physically or emotionally. He eventually realizes what happened and though initially he hates the idea of being sired to the woman he was supposed to hate, the more times his path crosses with that of Kikyō's, the more loyal he seems to become to her. Hakudōshi, at some point, stops resisting and chooses to stay by the priestess's side. The bond becomes so strong to the point the child is willing to die for her; however what he doesn't understand is that the bond stopped being a 'sired bond' and has become one of a mother and her child.

AGE: 8-11 (Physical Appearance) TIMELINE: After Kagome's permanent return to the Feudal Era POSITION: Brought back to life by a demon named Kirimi Not long after Kagome’s permanent return to the Feudal Era, a demon going by the name Kirimi (切り身, ‘Cutting Flesh’) begins an attempt to revive once powerful demons. They pretend to follow the steps of the deceased Urasue and even surpass them by improving the technique. Kirimi starts by reviving minor demons, at first to merely appreciate their work from afar and even see the need of improvements. Then they move on the next step: start reviving the deceased incarnations of Naraku. Unlike Urasue’s creations, Kirimi doesn’t use ashes and clay instead they use: an object that once belonged to the demon intended to be revived and that retains said demon’s “essence”, Kirimi’s own blood to create the connection between them and the revived demon and the heart of a sacrificed human. To revive Hakudōshi, Kirimi used the blanket that once belonged to the Infant’s right half, the one who later regrew into the child incarnation, and the heart of a human child. Thus instead of being a body made of clay like Urasue’s creations, Kirimi’s revived demons have a body made of flesh but only possess one organ inside them: the heart of the sacrificed human. Hakudōshi is then revived but he doesn’t appear to possess any memories of his life before his first death. He only reacts to his name and the reason seems to be that because Kirimi used the Infant’s blanket, an object worn by Hakudōshi only prior to be being cut in half and shortly after his body regrowing, therefore the “essence” within the blanket doesn’t “possess” Hakudōshi’s memories in the child-like body. Kirimi allows him to go so that he can retrieve his memories, once that is done they would be able to control Hakudōshi as their personal weapon along with the remaining incarnations they intended to revive. Hakudōshi then wanders through the lands, vaguely remembering the face of a woman carrying an Infant (Kagura) and the killing of monks. Believing that is how he will recover his memories, the newly reborn incarnation begins killing monks in the same way him and Kagura did in the past.

AGE: 20+ | 8-11 (Permanent Physical Appearance) TIMELINE: Hanyou no Yashahime & onwards POSITION: Lives isolated in a mountain | Independent Demon Slayer After Kirimi’s death, Hakudōshi eventually recovers all of his memories, not just of the person he used to be but all the people he has hurt. Regret is a strong word for him, does he regret anything? He doesn’t, he did what he was born to do. Regret won’t bring back those who died at his hands or those who were hurt. He is capable, however, of apologizing despite knowing the most obvious answer is that he isn’t forgiven. That is fine by him. To his surprise, Kohaku asks him to come train for a while at the new Demon Slayer village. The boy hasn’t forgiven him but his kind nature doesn’t let the former incarnation simply go. He goes and after becoming a skilled Demon Slayer, Hakudōshi retires to a mountain and only leaves it when there is a dire need. He gains the title of The Demon That Slays Demons. This is where he will stay and watch as the new generations are born, grow and eventually surpass the old. The entire experience changes his personality to somewhat more calm, less brutal and cruel, the sadistic incarnation of Naraku is no more, but he is still Hakudōshi, the White Child.

AGE: 8-11 (Physical Appearance) TIMELINE: After the Infant was split in half POSITION: Adopted by the Hua family | Doesn't know his connection to Naraku

After the Infant was split in two, the right half of it was supposed to remain dead while the left half regenerated back into its original form. In short, the right half was supposed to be nothing but dead meat. Given this, Naraku ordered Kanna to look after the left half and get rid of the right one. The incarnation did as she was told and abandoned the half on a river, allowing the strong stream to take it away. Something unexpected happened and the right half regenerated just like its left but it was completely alone. Although still a demon, the baby appeared to have lost its memories and even its previous speaking ability, therefore the only way to grab the attention of anyone passing by was of a normal baby: cry. And so he did and soon enough he was found by Hua Mulan. She knew he was a demon the moment she set her eyes on him and even so still took him. She took had demonic blood in her. Having lost its speaking abilities, at least for now, Hakudōshi spoke to Mulan through his mind ability but could only tell her his name as he didn’t remember anything else. Mulan decided there and then to officially adopt and raise the little baby as if he were her own son. Because of his demon origins, Hakudōshi grows and develops much faster than the average child; each month he grows more and more although at some point it should stabilize. He is happy, he loves his mother and has a big respect for the Hua family, never does he want to tarnish their name. But danger lurks around every corner and unknown to him, his life is still connected to that of Naraku’s and thus it is threatened to be taken should his infant counterpart meet his demise...

after being experimented on for most of her childhood life she lost the her natural affinity for witchcraft

She now has to take her power from other witches or mystical objects as a result of the experiments

Shrouded in grief, Edelgard practices necromancy to resurrect her dead siblings

With no magic of her own anymore she takes from her trusted confidant, Hubert

Manipulated and lied to by her uncle, Edelgard is gathering an uprising against the coven of Seiros

The alliance is split in different covens, Riegan being the ruling coven

When he arrived he was met with distrust

Claude was seen almost as an imposter until his grandfather tested his magic and saw the cosmic witchcraft, the craft only Riegan's possess, living within him

His grandfather is the only one who knows about his almyran origin

The rest of the alliance left in the dark

Claude is very careful when he practices almyran witchcraft, voodoo as it's almyrans are the ones alone who can perform it

He well versed in voodoo creating his own spells and honed his craft

He is extremely talented in both arts but he is more inclined to voodoo when it comes to his schemes

Claude used these means to defend himself from racist attacks, and assasination attempts

He plans to combine both crafts to end the discrimination that plagues both his birthrights

Gerreg Mach School of Witchcraft devotes itself to teach promising witches traditional magic. The ruling covens become house leaders: black eagle, blue lions, golden deer. These are led by Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude. While initiating them they were getting attacked by a group of nomad witches.

Claude used the full moon to cloak himself and find help

Dimitri saw him disappear and followed his steps

Edelgard, once caught up, siphoned the cloaking spell off Claude.

Claude: is this how you treat someone who found help, princess?

Edelgard: your intentions were as clear as day.

Dimitri: and here I thought you were playing decoy for the sake of us.

A talented witch who excels in traditional magic, Jeralt and his child, Byleth, helped the young witches against the nomads. Mystified by Byleth's technique and ability they all asked for his/her allegiance to their coven.

Edelgard: I'm glad you've chosen the coven of Adrestia to ally yourself with.

Claude: A win for the Riegan coven, so I guess I'm obligated to feel happy.

Dimitri: you're allegiance to the coven of Faerghus is not misled, I promise you choose wisely.

They returned to Gerreg Mach and Rhea, regent of all covens in Fodlan, asked Byleth to become a professor at the academy. Relics are a form channeling immense power and embed it into their magic, however, one cannot channel the power if they do not wield the crest. The ones who try to channel its power without a crest they turn into a terrible beast, void of humanity, or at least that is popular belief. And so, began the cataclysmic events that led to a five year war. Country against country, coven against coven.

Codex ‘Verse Masterpost (completed/updated, plus additional non-arc fics 2016-2018)

The ‘Verse series is a completed second set of stories based around the theme of rebuilding a family. Still lightly AU, canon-flavor. Like its forerunner, it also  predicts or predates a lot of current MCU and will absolutely contain spoilers. There are characters from the comics that are introduced MCU-style and do not require comic knowledge to understand. The ‘Verse fics are written to not contradict the Postscript of the original Codex and continue the story after When the Man Comes Around, because these bastards wouldn’t stop talking to me.

The Lion in Spring

Synopsis:

Recent events have left each Agent of SHIELD in emotional disarray, and Daisy Johnson most of all.  So when Coulson asks Loki to reach out and help her, he accepts... but in his own way.  A storyteller first and foremost, Loki reveals a story of old Asgard - the embattled start of love between Odin and Frigga.

Notes: Will spoil the end of Season 3 AoS. Is 90% a flashback tale.

Season of the Witch

Synopsis:

When horror engulfs a small Pennsylvanian town at the edge of abandoned Centralia, the Agents of SHIELD are called to investigate.  But when their strangest ally and agent, Loki, fast realizes he knows more about what's going on than he ever wanted to admit, the investigation takes a dark turn into understanding not only the history of the cursed region, but the birth of Chaos itself.

Notes: This is the Oct 2016 Codex Halloween fic, but also ended up paralleling AoS’s season 4 events in very strong and strange ways. Bookends with the original Codex fic, A Clear and Present Loki. Aggie Harkness becomes a recurring character and member of WAND, a magical division of SHIELD currently run by Loki.

Generation of Animals

Synopsis:

A phone call from an unexpected source puts Phil Coulson (along with his unlikeliest friend) on the hunt for a resurrected ghost straight out of the worst nightmares of world history - and on the way, Coulson must remember how to uphold the beliefs of his greatest hero, the currently exiled Captain America.

By punching Nazis.

Lots of Nazis.

Really hard.

Notes: I didn’t handle the 2016 US election very well, and honestly, come 2020, CAN YOU BLAME ME. This was one method of coping. Fortunately, it’s also a pretty rollickin’ story where Loki beats on an awful lot of awful people. The theme of making peace with himself and his place in Asgard and Jotunheim continues on from this story.

Riders on the Storm

Synopsis:

Loki and Doctor Strange are forced to work together to hunt what they discover is a cannibal - and maybe a killer. To pass the time, they share a couple of similarly horrible stories from their pasts, from a bleak ER encounter to Loki's first real battle with the demons and the flames of Muspelheim.

Notes: 2017′s Halloween fic is a longer work that contains substories, similar to We Lived in Castles. Strange and Loki’s aggressive frienemy-ship continues to build. 

The Liminoid Space has a Self-Checkout Lane

Synopsis:

Loki's having a day. The sort of day that makes him long for an era where sacrifices to the Gods were still a thing. Instead, he's in a big box store buying cheap shirts and animal crackers and crappy coffee, and he's none too happy about it.

Notes: Like some vignettes in the original arc, this one doesn’t connect to anything. It does have a nice but short flashback to Loki being a dumb kid too smart for his own good.

An Ocean Deep and Cold

Synopsis:

Having uncovered the trail of even more buried family secrets, Thor turns to his brother to help him puzzle out what he believes may be a secret of his own lineage - but Loki's weariness with Odin's faults means he is at first unwilling to help.

When he does give in, the brothers together must face what the Realms have to offer them for all-new struggles, from Earth's intrigue to Alfheim's bureaucracy... and they must also share the weight of their own fraught relationship.

Notes: The finale of the shorter ‘Verse arc, Loki finds himself finally making a kind of real and lasting peace not only with his brother, and with Odin’s bizarre way of parenting, but also with his heritage. Farbauti has a strong role here that will come back up in the next arc, and this fic lays out where Hela is in the Codex continuity.

Synopsis:

Young Thor has a problem, a suddenly sickly and withdrawn Loki who won't confide what's troubling him. With nothing else to do but turn to their mother for help, it's up to Frigga to find a way to help Loki walk out of the dark - not only for the sake of his childhood, but his future.

Notes: This short predates Generation of Animals and was part of the same coping mechanism - looking for hope in darker times.

Run, Black Rabbit

Synopsis:

A quiet tribute from a trickster to a storyteller.

Notes: A very short fic written on the day I learned author Richard Adams died. Watership Down has an important but understated role in some of the Codex stories, as Loki gradually recognizes both the fragility and strength of littler creatures - and also his own parallels with El-ahrairah, the Prince with a Thousand Enemies.

Black Spot on the Sun

Synopsis:

When Thor and Loki are sent ahead of a war party to warn a village of a coming attack, the young princes discover they're too late and need a new plan. Loki's wits and Thor's steel have to find a way to defend the people long enough for them to survive - but is Loki's solution Asgard's way?

Notes: Another short fic and something of a trial run for the next one. Written in bursts over the course of a long and difficult month, I was proud to be able to finish it on the day the first Thor: Ragnarok trailer dropped.

Notes: I prefer to play her over the age of 18 and though I do ship her with Kol I do prefer it to be discussed before hand. If you are a Kol and do not wish to ship with Davina, I completely understand! Changes can be made to any part of this bio so that it might fit with an rp.

CHILDHOOD

Davina was raised by a single mother in a fairly strict household. She was expected to perform well in school, in her training to be a witch and any extracurricular activities. She became a very competent witch from a young age. She learned how to play the piano, viola, and learned how to paint.

THE HARVEST

Davina from a young age was taught that being chosen as a harvest witch would be the biggest privilege any witch could be offered. When she was offered it she didn't think of denying her coven.

That, of course, was what she had been told she hadn't knwon what would be required from her as a harvest witch and when she learned she began to believe that she might return. When each of the harvest witches before her had died she did not choose to do the same and Marcel saved her, it meant that instead, she kept all of the power from the others inside of her.

This, of course, led the coven to be concerned as the magic needed to be returned to the earth and to the ancestors so that the other girls would return as well. Instead, she chose to hide away from them all and Klaus decided to try and use the power that she had. She also ended up learning a lot from Elijah about his mother and her grimoire.

Eventually, the power that builds up inside of her becomes too much and with reluctance from Marcel she decides to sacrifice herself instead of taking everyone else down with her; finally completing the ritual.

POST-RESSURECTION

Davina remains dead for a little while until Celeste dies and she is finally resurrected along with the other harvest girls. Davina feels uncomfortable after her journey into death. She said that unlike the three other girls who were sacrificed during the Harvest, the ancestors hated her because she escaped the Harvest and because of her alliance with Marcel and the vampires. They said that they would torment her if she continued to use her magic against the witches. She is completely lost and doesn't know who she can trust. When Cami tries to talk to her, Davina tells her that nothing that she learned in books will help her.

Davina feels uncomfortable after her journey into death. BETRAYING AND HELPING THE MIKAELSONS

Because of the connection between Klaus and his sire line Davina tries to remove this so that someone would be able to kill Klaus but leave her friends alive. She ends up resurrecting Mikael to try and kill Klaus, because of what he did to her friends. She continues to try and stop Klaus and becomes close to Kol during the process even though at one point she believes he has betrayed her.

She eventually sides once again with the Mikaelson's as she sees that Esther is the real threat. And when Kol later dies she tries to resurrect him, which she is eventually able to do.

BECOMING REGENT

Due to the problems that the witches faced from the vampires, she is chosen to become regent of the covens. In Out of the Easy, Marcel tries to convince Davina to leave New Orleans and run away from The Strix, but she declines. After this, Marcel makes an alliance with Vincent to help him, because he's worried about Davina. Vincent agrees, and in order to save Davina, he exposing her in front of the Ninth Ward Coven about the massacre of Kara Nguyen and 11 9th ward coven witches. They make a decision to shun Davina from the Witch Community of New Orleans and make her unable to practice Ancestral Magic or make any contact with the Ancestors, meaning she is no longer Regent of the nine covens of New Orleans. Davina has to deal with the effects of being shunned by her coven. She is trying to purchase Angelica Flower at a local market for unknown intentions, but the shopkeeper refuses to look at her; ignoring her former coven leader.

DEATH AND THE ANCESTOR REALM

Davina visits and starts to talk to a neutralized Kol, however, the whole of New Orleans begins to shake as the Ancestors try to remove Kol's dagger. After the Ancestors free Kol from his neutralized state, he loses control of himself and kills Davina.

Davina finds herself in the Ancestral Plane after her consecration. There she is found and trapped by Kara who wants to shred her soul to pieces. Freya, channeling Elijah and the hand of glory, manages to pull Davina's soul into a protective circle. After realizing that she could use Davina to steal power from the Ancestors and protect her family, Freya sends her back to the Ancestors, condemning her to a fate worse than death. Even the current witch Regent cannot bring her back, implying that Kara succeeded in her efforts.

Marcel, Josh, Kol and Vincent are present at Davina's small wake, saying their goodbyes. Marcel promises to get revenge for her death while later on, Kol is surprised to find out that Davina's spirit, though shredded, still exists, believing that fragments of her soul were bounded to those she loved. When he and Vincent travel to the Ancestral plane, with Josh acting as a life-link, in order to cut off the Ancestors from the physical plane, Vincent manages to conjure fragments of Davina's soul, by channeling Davina's favorite record, via a spell. She promises she will activate Eva's dark object and says her goodbyes to Vincent and Kol, sending them both back to the living plane. Davina then activates the dark object and Lafayette cemetery begins shaking as the spell is cast, a sign that the connection is being untethered, marking the end of the Ancestors' presence among the living witches.

SECOND RESSURECTION

Later that night, Kol visited Davina's grave, though he was approached by the Hollow. They spoke briefly of Davina and she cut the palm of her hand and he heard Davina scream. Soon thereafter, he found her, resurrected and trapped within a boundary spell, with the same cut on her hand. The Hollow confirmed that Davina was now linked to her, and that he couldn't kill her without killing Davina.

In A Spirit Here That Won't Be Broken, Davina is unlinked from The Hollow by Hope although Davina did come close to dying again while being linked. She leaves the city with Kol to truly see the world for the first time and partially for her own safety.

“Yes,” Finstock insists in a steely voice. “The NSSL have been on at us for a year about some decent exposure, and I think you’re just the team to do it.”

“I haven’t done weather since college,” Derek protests.

Boyd snorts again, presumably because he’s thinking back to the time when Derek and the weather last collided and he…. well, did the guy into the weather for a brief, wonderful, terribly foolish time. But, Boyd needs to shut up before Derek punches him on the nose.

Derek is standing at Jason’s reception desk, looking the same as he does in Stiles’ dreams except that he’s breathtakingly real, from the two-day stubble to the jewel-bright eyes to the little cow-licks in his hair he always tries to gel into submission. Stiles sees the exact moment he realizes that he can’t get a scent, because his eyebrows flick up in surprise and hurt. In the supernatural community, scent blocking is rude to the point of hostility. It means you’re hiding something.

Stiles has no idea what his own face is doing, but after the slip, Derek schools his into something so tightly composed it seems like an admission in itself. It hardly feels like years can have passed since they saw each other last, except that propped on Derek’s hip, chubby hand curled at her mouth…

Emily. She’s grown into that distinctive Hale coloring; pale skin and dark hair. She has Derek’s hazel green eyes, too. Two tidy pigtails curl above each of her ears, held with red bubble ties.

“Oh,” Stiles says faintly. He’d braced himself for Derek, but only him. “Her hair’s longer.”

Codex ‘Verse & Loki fic: Masterpost vol. 2

OUTDATED, PLEASE SEE MORE RECENT VERSE POST

This masterpost covers the three ‘Verse fics collected as a series thus far, plus four additional fanfictions that relate to the Codex version of Loki but aren’t in the ‘verse for whatever weird-ass reason I have in my head.

The ‘Verse series and its satellites are also genfic, lightly AU, heavily canon-flavor. Like its forerunner, it also  predicts or predates a lot of current MCU and will absolutely contain spoilers. There are characters from the comics that are introduced MCU-style and do not require comic knowledge to understand. The ‘Verse fics are written with the intent to not contradict the Postscript of the Codex, while trying to be not reliant on having read that arc.

While there is no firm arc, there is a general synopsis for this set:

With the fall of Thanos, the universe remains to be explored.  While Loki and the Agents of SHIELD are focused on a new and unknown future with troubles of its own, sometimes the past will also return to haunt them.

The ‘Verse:

The Lion in Spring

Synopsis:

Recent events have left each Agent of SHIELD in emotional disarray, and Daisy Johnson most of all.  So when Coulson asks Loki to reach out and help her, he accepts... but in his own way.  A storyteller first and foremost, Loki reveals a story of old Asgard - the embattled start of love between Odin and Frigga.

Notes: Will spoil the end of Season 3 AoS. Is 90% a flashback tale, and also bookends much later with The Shadows of Asgard.

Season of the Witch

Synopsis:

When horror engulfs a small Pennsylvanian town at the edge of abandoned Centralia, the Agents of SHIELD are called to investigate.  But when their strangest ally and agent, Loki, fast realizes he knows more about what's going on than he ever wanted to admit, the investigation takes a dark turn into understanding not only the history of the cursed region, but the birth of Chaos itself.

Notes: The fic that induced brain trauma in me. This is the Oct 2016 Codex Halloween fic, but also ended up paralleling AoS’s season 4 events in very strong and strange ways. Bookends with the original Codex fic, A Clear and Present Loki.

Generation of Animals

Synopsis:

A phone call from an unexpected source puts Phil Coulson (along with his unlikeliest friend) on the hunt for a resurrected ghost straight out of the worst nightmares of world history - and on the way, Coulson must remember how to uphold the beliefs of his greatest hero, the currently exiled Captain America.

By punching Nazis.

Lots of Nazis.

Really hard.

Notes: I didn’t handle the 2016 US election very well at first. This was one method of coping. Fortunately, it’s also a pretty rollickin’ story where Loki beats on an awful lot of awful people.

All Our Dawns

Synopsis:

Young Thor has a problem, a suddenly sickly and withdrawn Loki who won't confide what's troubling him. With nothing else to do but turn to their mother for help, it's up to Frigga to find a way to help Loki walk out of the dark - not only for the sake of his childhood, but his future.

Notes: This short fic predates Generation of Animals and was part of the same coping mechanism - looking for hope in darker times.

Run, Black Rabbit

Synopsis:

A quiet tribute from a trickster to a storyteller.

Notes: A very short fic written on the day I learned author Richard Adams died. Watership Down has an important but understated role in some of the Codex stories, as Loki gradually recognizes both the fragility and strength of littler creatures - and also his own parallels with El-ahrairah, the Prince with a Thousand Enemies.

Black Spot on the Sun

Synopsis:

When Thor and Loki are sent ahead of a war party to warn a village of a coming attack, the young princes discover they're too late and need a new plan. Loki's wits and Thor's steel have to find a way to defend the people long enough for them to survive - but is Loki's solution Asgard's way?

Notes: Another short fic and something of a trial run for the next one. Written in bursts over the course of a long and difficult month, I was proud to be able to finish it on the day the first Thor: Ragnarok trailer dropped.

The Shadows of Asgard

Synopsis:

Trapped by memories of his past and haunting his own present, Loki, the shadow king of Asgard, finds himself hunted by something far more deadly than any ghost. Without allies or any friendly word to help him, he must figure out why he’s not the hunter’s sole target - and what any chance of surviving his stolen throne might have to do with his buried youth.

Notes: Longfic. Now probably the most important non-’Verse fic that really should just be filed in the damn ‘Verse. Bookends with The Lion in Spring.

Verses for Kaleb Westphall

Default: It was no secret that Kol had taken Kaleb’s body as his own for his own selfish reasons. What Kol and the others had no idea is that Kaleb was still inside his body powerless (literally) to deter the Original from his chosen path that ultimately got them both killed. During the months of being locked away, the witch found his way into Kol’s head though the vampire had no idea Kaleb could do such a thing, having just a mere glimpse at the vast knowledge definitely struck curiosity within Kaleb. He wondered what it would have been like to live all those years, to have that power but ultimately to have lived under Esther Mikaelson. She was the creator of dark magic for all he cared. He tried to remember what he could but some of it was lost in translation between his death and his resurrection. Kaleb is angry that his body was so easily taken over by a parasite, a vampire, an ORIGINAL. As much as he would like to even the score and kill Kol he also valued his life and was fully aware that should Kol die at his hands his life would only last mere hours if even a day should the other sibling's catchword. So he channels his anger into magic, into being the bad guy. Anything to ease the discomfort he feels. Tag: V; BREATH OF LIFE
