my favourite headcanon that doesn't hold up under scrutiny is the idea that the Great Dawn Retcon only actually affected like thirty people in Sunnydale and no one else, enabling stuff like Buffy telling Angel over the phone that she has to go pick up Dawn from school and Angel's like huh I guess she has an instantly grown teenage kid too, small world

Working on some vampire obikin 💕
---
“For the loss of this,” Anakin finally said, and he pressed his hand against Obi-Wan’s chest, touch steady and firm above his heart. “You have no idea what it is like to wake and feel nothing beating inside, Obi-Wan.”
Obi-Wan had never thought about what it would be like to wake with no heartbeat; to function but without the steady flow of blood - of life - coursing through him. The stillness must be unbearable at times, the silence terrifying. No thrush of blood from between the ears to tell you that you’re scared or excited, no heat in your cheeks to show humility and shame, no beating between the breast to show the passage of time, the aging of cells, the growth and decay of a body.
“Let me share in your life,” Anakin whispered. He pressed in close, their noses brushing. Obi-Wan closed his eyes and pushed himself back against the wall, but Anakin followed him. “Let me sleep with your heart beneath my hand, your pulse against my lips, your cock between my thighs. Let me live through you. Let me be a part of your humanity.”
“Anakin…”
“Please.”

I know someone on here was talking about Slayer Buck but.
Slayer Maddie.
Buck feeling like he gotta protect Maddie and so follows her on patrol, almost gets bitten. Maddie running away from home and her Watcher Bobby when her secret was almost found out and the pressure gets too much. Buck learning how to stake vamps and kill demons from Bobby and runs after Maddie.
He knows she's not dead because there's no new slayer. He makes friends along the way: Eddie, a witch who's looking for his son's mother (another witch) - and protecting his magically gifted son from witch-hunters; Chimney, a werewolf (got bit by his best friend who comes from a werewolf family, but his best friend was killed by a werewolf trophy hunter and Chimney swears vengeance; Hen, a completely normal doctor and her wife Karen, who's a psychic and rocket scientist.
And then Buck encounters a nest run by Gerrard. He's nearly killed but is rescued by Tommy.
"Aren't you a vampire? You should be on their side."
"Well, I would, but they really hate me and would love to kill me."
This is around the time they locate Maddie, who's currently under the control of Doug (who has gained a lot of power through a demon), and it takes the combo of Buck, Eddie and Tommy to take down both Doug and his demon sponsor. It works. Buck finally sees his sis.
And approx three days from that, Buck and Tommy sleep together.
And Tommy loses his soul (not a curse, a poorly thought out plan from Gerrard)
Tommy without a soul massacres Gerrard and his cronies and takes over as the Big Bad. Maddie and Chimney and Bobby and Eddie know they have to kill Tommy. Buck outright refuses to cooperate with that. He delays Maddie and Tommy makes use of that, comes by to see Buck as if he's recovered his soul, and Buck very nearly falls for the act.
Until Eddie casts the spell that rejects vampires from a home and Tommy issues his threat: sacrifice Maddie or he murders a hospital of babies. (He's actually going to open the hell portal to swallow all of humanity)
Buck is devastated. With Chimney's and Karen's help, Hen manages to sneak the babies from the hospital home with Denny and Mara.
Maddie and Buck have a falling out again, Buck accusing Maddie of never liking Tommy and that's why she wants him dead. Buck impulsively runs away. Maddie goes after him, but she doesn't know where he's gone. Bobby keeps Eddie behind - he thinks he and Eddie can craft an ensouling spell.
Buck actually isn't angry at Maddie, he wants Maddie to be so angry she keeps out of the way. Maddie instead finds Chimney to sniff Buck out.
Buck locates Tommy and they fight, Tommy attacking all of Buck's insecurities, even making fun of their love, and finally Buck loses. Tommy bites him and drinks from him, but right then Buck cuts Tommy and drinks from him as well. Tommy just laughs and lets him.
Maddie and Chimney arrive but it's too late, Tommy has drunk deeply from Buck and given him enough of his own blood to make a vampire. And the reason why Tommy wants Maddie as a sacrifice? He wants Buckley blood. And Buck has basically given it to him. He opens the portal.
Maddie and Chimney are fighting Tommy when Eddie's spell crashes into both Tommy and Buck. The Hell portal is almost completely open. Maddie and Chimney take the opportunity of Tommy being disoriented to kick him into the hell portal. Before the portal can close, Buck finds the last ounce of strength he has to drag himself through, following Tommy into hell. With a full Buckley blood sacrifice, the portal closes.
Maddie is devastated; Chimney holds her.

who are your favourite black characters - animated and not animated
Oh fun question. We capitalize Black in this house, and this is absolutely going to show my age but you asked, and I wouldn't say favourite for most, because I don't know that I have a strong attachment to every show but did like them, and you'll probably notice, most of the time they just have to be Black and on a show for me to like them so here we go:
As usual, in no particular order -
Numbuh 5 - Kids Next Door
I thought she was funny, and she was Black and that's really all it took for me, lol. I based one of my characters off her actually.
Miles Morales
I feel like this goes without saying.
Goliath - Gargoyles
LOL this is so funny to me because the VA is BLACK. And Goliath always read to me as Black, and Elisa Maza...anyway lol. It always struck me as deranged that whenever the gargoyles in general, but ESPECIALLY Goliath AND Demona turned human, all of them were always white. Just didn't make any sense even as a kid, and I blame racism. This is probably the only time I'll go up for non-human characters coded as Black and no I won't be arguing about this.
Out of the Box
This dude held me down after school every day and the song still SLAPS.
Mr. Trick - BTVS
He is SO unsung but I loved almost every scene he was in.
Lieutenant Van Buren - Law & Order
The only cop I like. she sued the cops for racism.
Detective Green
Before he was on that stupid DC show, he was a cop on a better show lmao. See above.
Storm - X-Men & Xmen Evolution
She's Storm.
Virgil Hawkins - Static Shock
One day we'll talk about what the fuck is up with all the Black people having electric powers, but today we'll put some respect on Virgil's name.
John Stewart/Green Lantern - Justice League/Unlimited
The only green lantern I recognize.
Vixen - JLU
John fumbled her BIG TIME.
Abbie - Sleepy Hollow
This show fumbled her BIG TIME. Lord release us from the shackles of Black people being cops in shows.
Papa Pope
He rocked my ENTIRE world off axis when he showed up and read Olivia for filth and then fucked up her white side piece.
Annalise Keating
She was SO messy, but she should've killed them kids too.
Michaela Pratt
I had issues with her SL but she was a real one.
Greenleaf patriarch & matriarch - Greenleaf
tbh with you it doesn't really matter what these two people are in, I'm going to watch the fuck out of it.
Lafayette - True Blood
I feel like this goes without saying. RIP.
Romeo Carter - Student Bodies
for OBVIOUS reasons.
Jett Jackson - Jett Jackson
Again, obvious reasons. RIP.
Ashley Banks - Fresh Prince
I liked her because she was around my age when I was watching the show.
This whole family - Family Matters
I don't have a favourite. This whole family was Black in a time where there were few Black people on tv much less whole families.
Hobie Brown - Across the Spiderverse
Obvious reasons.
Chloe - Sabrina the Animated Series
I feel like I've dug significantly into the archives of my brain. I'm sure there are characters I've missed, but this is what I could remember. Fun! - oh wait no!
Prudence
She stole the damn show. I watched for her and Ambrose *only*
Tak & Quellchrist Falconer - Altered Carbon
This sleeve of Tak specifically.
Michael Burnham - Star Trek Discover
She acts her ass off in any role so honestly it doesn't matter.
T'Challa - Black Panther
No I will not expand. Sigh. RIP.
All of them - Black Panther
Ok I think I'm done. I've reached into the archives of my childhood, and I'm sure there are more I've forgotten, but yeah, here's top of my head. :)

@little-miss-buffy liked for a starter! | SC still open
One would think he'd ever get sick of abandoned buildings. Always the same smells. Always the same sights. Creepy and dangerous, really. And certainly with a history of...questionable things happening. But still. There's still that certain something about it. The allure of not knowing what's around the next corner. What he'll see. What he'll find. Another shithole or....paradise.
Well, this time, it's blonde. A person. Coming around the same corner he'd been trying to round just now. Pretty much a whirl wind of motion and something there. Making him curse and put his defenses straight up. Because even though it isn't unexpected per se, it's still startling as shit.
"Jesus, fuck! You scared the hell out of me!" he gasped, reaching for his chest on instinct, then taking a few steps back. Not just to get some safe distance between him and the stranger, but also to get a better view of them. Her. Looking completely out of place and yet...not.
"Am I interrupting something here?" he asks, more of a reflex and immediately on the defense just so she can't get the first question in.

Cont from here w/ @little-miss-buffy
—— “Well, yeah!” He exclaims, his face against the wall, “love is to sex and pain is to death, what do you expect? I don’t make the rules.” He exhales, using his speed ability to remove himself from the grip. Now, across the room from Buffy. He looks at her, eyes furrowed and annoyance drawn on his face.
Only because Buffy is a good friend to his friends he wouldn’t touch her. Also because he actually liked her company — sometimes. But when the two caught themselves in physical altercations, The two didn’t recognize or knew each other in those moments. Making it fair game. However, no killing.
He massages his neck with his right hand, “you ever thought of anger management? Cause you need it,blondie.” He says.

The heat sucked at his skin as they stepped out the sliding doors. It had been years since the last time he'd been to California, probably not since he and Rip had gone on an extremely extended holiday after he'd been kicked from Ravenscar. Though Rip would likely disagree, he was glad they'd be taking a cab to the hotel they would be staying at in L.A. The plan was to rent a car in the morning, be in Sunnydale by the evening, and hopefully run into the Slayer.
"Bugger me, I'm glad I let you convince me to pack me coat instead of wearin' it on the flight," John groused, dragging his rolling suitcase behind him as he headed toward the smoking section. Usually he didn't care but American airports made him nervous, swarming as they were with security and gross consumerism. "Y'reckon we should drop in on Zee while we're at it? I don't think her residency in Vegas starts for another month or two."
@gilesian (just a wee starter to warm some Ripperverse back up)

@thelostslayer liked this for a starter
Running, running, running. It feels like that’s all he does, somedays. Running from thugs on the streets, from cops and social workers, from the death of his mother. Jason runs and runs and runs and it doesn’t matter how much his chest burns, how difficult it is to breathe, he just keeps right on running, because if he stops, he might stop breathing altogether.
Currently, he’s running from the man whose wallet he’s stolen. Not the biggest or scariest guy, not some mobster or goon or trafficker, but he’s pissed off and bigger than Jason, stronger than Jason, faster than Jason. Jason’s using every trick he has to get away from him, wallet tucked safely away so he can keep his hands free. If he can just get to the alley two blocks away, there’s a hole in the wall of one building he’ll be able to squeeze through. Jason can barely fit at eleven-years-old—there’s no way this guy will.
He risks a glance over his shoulder to see how far back the man is at exactly the wrong moment. Barrels straight into some girl and lands hard on his ass on the concrete with an ‘oof!’ His chest is heaving, burning, he can’t catch his breath, but he can’t stop, so he scrambles to get up—
Only to get scruffed by the asshole chasing him and hefted up, yelping, feet dangling off the ground. Panic floods through him, because he can’t get away despite how much he’s struggling and no one’s gonna care if one more street kid goes missing. Hell, the girl he ran into will probably be glad, because Jason’s pretty sure he made her spill whatever drink was in her hand, and people in Gotham can be petty like that. “Put me down!”

damon knew buffy wasn't always a fan of the way he handled situations he found himself in — or created, but that's neither here nor there ... right? so, he wasn't entirely surprised by her reaction. the werewolves have been infesting mystic falls lately and, ever since he had murdered mason, they've all been looking to strike their revenge on damon. he needed to protect himself, and he needed to protect buffy. who knew when they would go after her just to get back at him? he sighed softly at her words, ❛ buffy, do you really expect me to just stand here in mutt guts? ❜ he responded, flicking his hand to shake off some of the blood that tainted his skin. he certainly was hoping she would show up after he had cleaned up this mess in the living room of his home and himself as well but, things didn't always work in damon's favor, especially when it concerned buffy. she always showed up at the wrong times. he took a small sip of his drink as he smirked behind his glass because of her blushing cheeks. good to know he was able to get a rise out of her, even if it was just a small one.
he pours buffy a drink behind walking over to her, stepping over the body in the process, and hands her the glass, ❛ come on, why not? don't we have a duty to save the planet by saving water? ❜ he asked nonchalantly, still wearing that devilish grin that hung off of his lips. he shrugged slightly, ❛ i could help you to get those hard to reach places ... ❜ he trailed off, his eyes looking at her up and down as he visioned the both of them in the shower, enjoying each other in ways they haven't. damon wasn't sure how he felt about buffy yet or didn't really knew what kind of relationship they've formed, but he knew one thing for certain — he was undeniably attracted to her. it wasn't just her flawless looks that he sought after but her strength, her courage, her ability to see things others could not. he admired her, and he wanted to show her just how grateful he was that she remains as the only person that hasn't given up on him. he knew that wouldn't be an easy feat, more so because he had no idea how she even felt about him. were they just friends and could they ever be more? he takes another sip, ❛ promise the shower is big enough for the two of us ... ❜

Slayer Verse : Leah
Mostly based on the 1992 movie Buffy the Vampire Slayer with some reference to the show.
Leah was a completely ordinary teen sailing through high school, looking forward to starting her college journey. But her life would soon be flipped upside down.
It began with bad dreams, nightmares that almost felt like memories. These started to keep her up at night, yet she found she wasn't as tired as she should be. In fact, her agility at school was even better in gym class and baton.
Leah graduated, excited to to start the next phase of her life. But on her second day of college, there was a gruesome attack on campus, a fellow nursing student drained of blood with a terrible wound to their throat. This was the same day she met a watcher, there to tell her that she was the new slayer and had work far beyond her studies to attend to.
Hunting and slaying vampires. By day, Leah trains as a nurse. By night, she trains to fight evil.
From the wiki: A slayer is a young woman bestowed (unwillingly) with mystical powers that originate from the heart, soul, and spirit of a pure-demon which gives her superhuman senses, strength, agility, resilience, and speed in the fight against forces of darkness. She occasionally receives prophetic dreams in the few hours that she sleeps.

@little-miss-buffy || Wanted Liam Summers!
"Dude, River. Calm down it will be okay. Sure, she might not know who I am but I can make it work somewhere. Might be a small shock. But we agreed. I've got this no worries." Liam hung up the phone, getting out of his car. He headed over to Buffy's door, raising his hand. He knocked on it and waited for her to answer. "Here we go." He mumbled to himself. Honestly he was hoping that she would actually believe him if he decided to tell her who he actually was. Giles had tracked down River and himself, surprised to find two male slayers. So they made that decision that Liam would go and see Buffy, while River went to track down Angel.

Have I mentioned that the first two books in my Hunters of Ironport series are out there in the world?
Because ya know if you’re a tired millennial looking for some Buffy but gayer style nostalgia and some vampire hunting, this one might be for you!
Staked through the heart and you’re to blame.
Still overworked—a little less underappreciated—Eric Marcelino stumbles through an Ironport he doesn’t recognize. The city has gone eerily quiet. There hasn’t been a vampire attack in weeks and Eric is starting to wonder what the vampires are planning.
Tony McMahon’s boyfriend is perfect. Kind. Caring. Hot. Except his sister hates him, and well . . . he might be a vampire. But that’s okay, because Tony has a plan. Sort of.
Change is good, or that’s what Hunter Delacroix has always heard anyway. So then why does moving into the dorms on Moondale University campus feel like a surrender? And why does every glance from Eric feel like a betrayal?
Ironport is quiet, but maybe it’s just the calm before the storm. With broken hearts, grief, and a little existential dread hanging over all of their heads Eric’s team might find themselves six feet under instead of the vampires. This is gonna suck.
