No exoteric teaching is capable of providing true knowledge, which man must find only within himself, for in fact no knowledge can be acquired except through a personal comprehension. Without this comprehension, no teaching can lead to an effective result, and the teaching that awakens no personal resonance in the one who receives it cannot give any kind of knowledge. This is why Plato says that 'everything that a man learns is already within him'. All the experiences, all the external things that surround him, are only an occasion to help him become aware of what is within himself. This awakening he calls anamnesis, which signifies 'recollection'.
Know Thyself

What the modern world has striven after with all its strength, even when it has claimed in its own way to pursue science, is really nothing other than the development of industry and machinery; and in thus seeking to dominate matter and bend it to their service, men have only succeeded, as we said at the beginning of this book, in becoming its slaves. Not only have they limited their intellectual ambition—if such a term can still be used in the present state of things—to inventing and constructing machines, but they have ended by becoming in fact machines themselves.

Charles Coulombe bashing the two favorite philosophers of the alt-right.

I feel like it's misleading to call them heretics because they've both abandoned the faith. So wouldn't it be more accurate to call them apostates?

Guénon said that the more we delve into the matter, the more divisive and opposing elements take root, thus conflict emerges; however, the more we elevate ourselves on pure spirituality, the more we reach unity, something uniquely achievable via the consciousness of universal principles and its immutable and eternal metaphysical laws.

Final Fantasy 7 and its Symbolism | Alchemy, Kabballah etc.
Today i'm gonna talk about Final Fantasy VII and its symbolism. I've written about this subject before, but since i only wrote about it in portuguese, i'll try to translate it to english. Hope this turns out to be readable enough.
Final Fantasy 7 is notorious for making allusions to the kabballah and to gnosticism, but no one seems to have noticed the alchemical symbolism present in FFVII.
With this text I hope that i'll be able to add more to the discussion about this game! And it goes without saying that there will be spoilers ahead. You've been warned.
JENOVA, THE CALAMITY FROM THE SKIES
Jenova, whose name sounds a lot like Jeovah, was a calamity, which, just like Lucifer, fell from the skies. Most people wrongly believe her to be the Demiurge. After Her Fall, she exterminated most of the Cetras, who lived at the Knowspole (North Pole).
Two millennia later, Shinra captured Jenova and they used her cells to, let's say, create almost perfect soldiers. Due to these experiments, it becomes obvious that Jenova is either an Angel or some kind of deity, as those who "get injected" with her cells become extremely strong and some, in a certain way, become angels.
Jenova, Angeal, Sephiroth and Genesis
Later, In a Mission that took place in Nibelheim, Sephiroth, after being told the ""truth"" about his past, went nuts and decided to ally himself with Jenova to destroy the Planet
In the Late-Game, Sephiroth goes to Knowspole (North Pole), which is where the Promised Land is supposed to be. He went to the Promised Land, "an Earthly Paradise", for there he'd not only be able to attain/restore a Primordial State, but he'd also be able to become God there. Sephiroth also searched it because the Promised Land symbolizes « The Center of the World », and the « Abode of Immortality » is supposedly located there.
the being who has reached the centre of our world (or of any other state of existence) has thereby already won immortality - René Guénon in Fundamental Symbols, The Universal Language Of Sacred Science
I've sad this because, according to the Traditionalist school, the Promised Land and the Polar symbols - like Mount Mêru - are associated with the « Center of the World ». And it is only through the North Crater that Sephiroth and Cloud are able to reach the « Center of the Earth », which is where, in the Hindu Tradition, is located Agartha, which, according do Guénon, is yet another Center of the World Symbol.
Therefore, the North Crater and the Promised Land undoubtlessly Symbolize the Center of the World. So, In short, Sephiroth is searching for the Center of the World.
It's as the FFVII Wiki puts it:
"Sephiroth's Promised Land is the North Crater because he could become a god there"
However, that place wasn't the real Promised Land. It was but a representation of it, as the game implies that the Promised Land wasn't a physical place per se.
"It appears the Cetra's promised land isn't a physical location, but what the Cetra called the act of returning to the planet at the life's end. Joining the lifestream and becoming one with the planet was viewed as a state of supreme happiness." - FFVII wiki
This reminds me of what Christ said: “My kingdom is not of this world"
Therefore, at least in my opinion, that place was but a symbol of the promised land, and not the promised land itself. Sephiroth searched for the Promised Land, but his search was vain
“ So if Jenova is Jeovah, then Sephiroth, who's her son, is Jesus Christ right XD?” No, I view Sephiroth as more of a representation of the Antichrist, while Aerith represents Christ since she sacrificed herself to defeat Sephiroth.
ALCHEMY
(White Materia with a green color in FFVII 1997 / White Materia with a white color in FFVII Remake)
Bugenhagen states that when someone prays for Holy, if their prayer is answered the White Materia will glow green" - Final Fantasy Wiki
Now, let’s talk about the alchemy present in the game!
After we witness Aerith's death, we can see that she was holding the White Materia. The White Materia is first portrayed as a green sphere, while on the remake it's represented as a White Sphere.
But why did they choose specifically those two colors ? it's because in alchemy the Albedo stage, generally, is either represented by the color white or by the color green.
The fact that they changed the White Materia color to white (albedo) is good, for people are able to tell what's going on more easily. However, this small change distorted the original meaning a little, since these two colors, mainly in this context, are lunar symbols, for the color green symbolizes the goddess Venus (who is associated with the Moon) and the Vegetable Kingdom. Therefore, in this case, Green (Viriditas) symbolizes the forces of Narture reacting, through Holy, against Sephiroth and Jenova.
"In the telluric entity man contains in himself the mineral kingdom; in the lunar, "our Water" entity he contains the vegetable kingdom (whence the reason for the permutation of the white color for the green of vegetability)" - Julius Evola, Hermetic Tradition
Here, Evola is talking about the human body but it also applies to an object from nature, in this case the White Materia, since, just as Mircea Eliade said, the alchemist projects himself, his body and his soul (microcosm) not only onto objects from nature, but also onto the universe (macrocosm). That's where this macrocosm x macrocosm notion comes from:
The homology between the macrocosm [The World] and the microcosm (the human body) explains really well this projection of the body and soul onto the metals and the identification of external operation with an interior act of asceticism or contrition - Mircea Eliade, cosmologia et alchemia babilonesi
(This green sphere, which which now has a red shell around itself, is the same White Materia we saw above. And, just for comparative purposes, the Philophers stone there on the right)
In the center of the Earth, just before the final battle, we can spot Holy (White Materia) right behind Sephiroth. At this point Holy has left the Albedo Stage and is now entering the Rubedo stage, the final stage of the alchemical process. That is to say, Holy is turning into the Philosopher's Stone.
ALCHEMY AND SATANISM?
There are 3 main stages in the alchemical process, which are Nigredo, Albedo and Rubedo. They are only supposed to happen in this order, otherwise it would be an inversion of the alchemical process. Therefore, it would impossible for someone to attain the Rebis or the Philosopher's Stone through Nigredo for they'd only get dissolution.
But when we encounter Sephiroth in the North Crater, we witness a rather peculiar event....
When we encounter Sephiroth in the North Crater, he appears to be residing within a green cocoon of crystallized mako. This cocoon propably symbolizes the alchemical egg. In short, at this point Sephiroth has Already attained Albedo or Viriditas. When Cloud gives him the Black Materia, it makes Sephiroth able to summon the Meteor and even causes the completion of Sephiroth's alchemical process. As the story goes on, we don't see Sephiroth performing any further alchemical processes.
In short, Sephiroth was in Albedo and completed his alchemical process in Nigredo .
Now, Speaking as someone who doesn't know much about alchemy, I've never seen an alchemical process end in Nigredo. Furthermore, Nigredo is dissolution and, unlike Rubedo, it's associated with the beginning of the Great Work. Since, only in this case, the Nigredo occurred at the end of the alchemical process, and not at the beginning as is traditionally portrayed, I'm led to believe that this is a inversion of symbolism.
"and such inversion constitutes, generally speaking, one of the plainest characteristics of satanism "- René Guénon, Symboles de la Science Sacrée
The Black Materia seems to be a Chthonic artefact. In opposition to the Black Materia, we've got Holy (White Materia). Because Holy is "the ultimate white Magic". Since Holy's polar opposite is the Black Materia, i don't think that it's a stretch to say that the Black materia is therefore the Ultimate form of ""Black Magic"".
('m using the term "Black Magic" very loosely here)
Just for comparative purposes, Holy is an example of the alchemical process done right. And what Sephiroth did, on the other hand, is a Satanic Inversion of the Alchemical process. I believe that Sephiroth kinda practiced some kind of Satanic Magic/Achemy.
So Sephiroth managed to become the Demiurge through a satanic inversion of the alchemical process. Not gonna lie, that sounds fitting for a guy like Sephiroth. Since, as i've already said, he represents the Antichrist
He is the Antichrist, for when he turns into Safer-Sephiroth besides getting these two rings, which symbolize the Center of the Word, he even gets a "Sun" over his head which, in the Sefirotic Tree, symbolizes the Tiferet. And the number associated with Tiferet is 666. Sephiroth is but an illegitimate Tiferet, while Aerith is the true Tiferet. For she represents Christ. (She represents the Messiah)
Other than that, there's also Symbolism Behind the FFVII Lifestream. The Lifestream is basically the Anima Mundi.
There's this quote from Orlando Fedeli, a remarkable brazilian scholar on gnosticism, which clarifies how gnosticism works. i'll try to translate the quote, hope i don't F this up:
"Don't think, however, that the divine spark resides only within each human being. To gnosis, it [ the spark] is present within all things in the universe" - Orlando Fedeli
Yes - The FFVII Lifestream is basically the divine spark, the Anima Mundi, which's present within all things in the universe.
Why is the Lifestream green and sometimes blue ? There's some venusian symbolism going on there, because both "Green and Blue colors are both associated with Venus" (in Alchimie comme art hieratique, H. Corbin).
On this Anima Mundi aspect, the game seems to be influenced by Jung's oeuvre on alchemy.
That's all for today. even though this text is probably written in broken english, i've spent a lot of time writing this. So if you liked my analysis then please follow me on tumblr. I prosmise i'll try to get better at writing, lol

Aiwass in Theory and Practice
Thelema is a living religion based on the pursuit of one’s will with measured steps of devotion. In terms of religion, it is a new religion that embodies the philosophies of religions past by raising them up, tearing them down and creating a new foundation out of the bones of religions past. Its more primary concepts were presented in The Book of the Law. The Book of the Law, channeled and…

“Will the modern world follow this fatal course right to the end, or will a new readjustment intervene once more, as it did in the case of the Greco-Latin decadence, before it reaches the bottom of the abyss into which it is being drawn? It would seem that a halt midway is no longer possible since, according to all the indications furnished by the traditional doctrines, we have in fact entered upon the last phase of the Kali-Yuga, the darkest period of this “dark age”, the state of dissolution from which it is impossible to emerge otherwise than by a cataclysm, since it is not a mere readjustment that is necessary at such a stage, but a complete renovation.
Disorder and confusion prevail in every domain and have been carried to a point far surpassing all that has been known previously, so that, issuing from the West, they now threaten to invade the whole world; we know full well that their triumph can never be other than apparent and transitory, but such are the proportions which it has reached, that it would appear to be the sign of the gravest of all the crises through which mankind has passed in the course of its present cycle. Have we not arrived at that terrible age, announced in the Sacred Books of India, “when the castes shall be mingled, when even the family shall no longer exist”?
It is only necessary to look around in order to be convinced that this state is truly that of the world of today, and to see on all sides that profound degeneracy which the Gospel terms “the abomination of desolation”. The gravity of the situation cannot be minimized; it should be envisaged such as it is, without optimism but also without pessimism, for as we have already said, the end of the old world will be also the beginning of a new one.
(...)
the point at which the “descent” is completely accomplished, where “the wheel stops turning”—at least for the instant marking the passage from one cycle to another—it is necessary to conclude that, until this point is actually attained, it is impossible that these things should be understood by men in general, but only by the small number of those who are destined to prepare, in one way or in another, the germs of the future cycle.”

RENE GUENON – SIMBOLIKA KRSTA [GRADAC – ALEF 38]
