Red Butler/Swap AU Character guide list
This list does not go in order and only has characters that have been swapped with already/confirmed to be swapped with another, more will be added/changed when I figure them out Elizabeth Midford <- -> o!Ciel Phantomhive Alois Trancy <- -> r!Ciel/Sirius Phantomhive Grell Sutcliff <- -> Sebastian Michaelis Ran-Mao <- -> Mey-Rin Joanna <- -> Baldroy Soma Asman Kadar <- -> Finnian Paula <- -> Tanaka Drossel Keinz <- -> Snake

Spears Wolfram Gelzer <- -> Ronald Knox Agni <- -> Othello Claude Faustus<- -> Undertaker Sascha, Ludger <- -> Timber, Canterbury (Third triplet does exists, they're just an extra) Ash Landers <- -> Rian Stoker Angela Blanc <- -> Nina Hopkins Layla <- -> Sieglinde Sullivan Charles Grey <- -> Joker Charles Phipps <- -> Dagger Jane <- -> Beast Joanne Harcourt <- -> Doll Johann Agares <- -> Jumbo Edward V <- -> Peter Richard <- -> Wendy Viscount Druitt <- -> Blavat Edward Midford <- -> Clayton Maurice Cole <- -> Cheslock Gregory Violet <- -> Edgar Redmond Lawrence Bluewer <- -> Herman Greenhill McMillan <- -> Derrick Arden Baldroy JR <- -> Luka Macken Theodore <- -> Mabel Artie <- -> Oliver
Note: when more characters are revealed in the series as it goes on, chances are some swaps might be changed because they fit newer characters more than previous ones.
#This list took forever but hey hope this helps keep track of swapped characters easier. tried to keep it as simple as possible#again not all characters are shown here so this post will most likely be edited the more this au goes on#or be updated with some swaps changing places because I end up realising they actually fit better than their previous ones#again ty imviotrash for suggesting I make a character guide list#black butler#kuroshitsuji#black butler 2#kuroshitsuji 2#black butler swap au#red butler au#not an art post#not tagging a single one of these characters nuh uh#swap au

SATURDAY MATINEE MUSIC VIDEO “Orange Coloured Sky” ...or the uncanny way this song connects Davy Jones (Monkees), Burt Ward (Batman), and Frank Zappa. “Orange Coloured Sky” is the pop-jazz standard that was a breakout hit for Nat “King” Cole, released August 1950. The song was revived in a particular way by Richard Thompson in his “1000 Years of Popular Music” project, which leads to the story of how Davy Jones embraced it and made it part of his live set. Here’s my take, complete with back story: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpFHl0PP6bw&t=31s

The Exhibitors Herald, June 1926
The first of the deluxe presentations was at the Forrest theatre, Philadelphia, Thursday evening. The audience was composed largely of members of the Advertising Clubs of the World, which was holding an international convention in the Quaker City, and the members of the Poor Richard Club. There were also present a large turnout of society, official and judicial life of Philadelphia. The other audience, which included Mrs. Coolidge, members of the diplomatic corps and Washington newspapermen, as guests of the National Press club, viewed the picture at a special screening Friday night at Poli’s theatre in Washington. General W. W. Atterbury; Senator-elect [and notorious political boss] Wm. S. Vare; Senator [and law professor] George W. Pepper; Lieut. Commander Geo. B. Wilson, U. S. Navy [not to be confused with the character from the Great Gatsby] ; Mrs. Barclay Warburton [civil rights supporter and journalist] ; Major Norman MacLeod; E. T. Stottsbury; Paul Thompson; Alexander Van Rensselaer; Mrs. Charlemagne Tower; Dr. H. J. Tily [department story owner, mason] ; Mr. and Mrs. Theodore W. Reath; Frank Smith; Mr. and Mrs. Jos. N. Judge Buffington, of Pittsburgh; Thos Finletter [could be one of a a number of lawyers with this name]; Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Einstein; Maurice Paillard, French consul; Robt. Hall, president of City Council; Dr. Charles Hart; Rev. Wm. H. Dice [President of Reading Railroad]. Dr. Leon Elmaleh [founder of the Levantine Jews Society of Philadelphia]; H. Gilbert Cassidy [a judge]; Utley E. Crane [author of Business Law for Business Men]; Cyrus H. K. Curtis [magazine publisher]; Chas. S. Caldwell; G. W. Cole; Hampton L. Carson [lawyer, professor, state Attorney general]; A. Lincoln Acker [Philidelphia port collector]; Max Aron [lawyer]; Eugene C. Bonniwell [a judge]; Chas. L. Brown; Edward Groome; Chas. L. O’Hara [future Archbishop of Philadelphia], and Bishop Thos. J. Garland, D. D. [Episcopalian bishop]
There were a bunch of Universal employees in attendance too but that's less interesting to me. Let's see who went to the Washington show
Both showings were under the auspices of Ambassador Henri Beragner of France and Marcel Knecht, French publisher and trade representative. Dr. Ferdnand Heurteur, leader of the orchestra of the Paris Opera House, came to the United States to conduct the orchestras at these two showings. Among the distinguished guests at the Washington showing were: Don Juan Riano, Spanish ambassador; Senor and Senora de Mathieu, Chilan ambassador; Raoul Tilmont, secretary, Belgium embassy; G. H. Thompson, second secretary, British embassy; A. J. Pack, British embassy; Eduardo Racedo and Madame Racedo, first secretary, Argentine embassy; Conrado Traverso, Argentine embassy; Dr. and Senora Velarde, Peruvian ambassador; Dr. and Madame Santiago F. tag game du rpg
— Oui. On finit par me connaître, I guess.

CHARACTER ASK GAME!!!
Emma: 2, 4, 14, 24
Loki: 5, 15, 16, 25
Tony: 7, 11, 19, 22
Goodness! So many asks! YAY!
Emma Frost:
2. Favorite canon thing about this character?
She's highly intelligent and incredibly snarky. She knows who she is, she knows what she wants, and at least by now (I hope), she's not going to let another person treat her like a consolation prize/second choice.
4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?
Well, she's been in a movie by a fantastic actress to play her, but the writers were shit and decided that they were just going to treat her like eye candy fluff instead of the beautiful badass that she is. I'd like to see her in a movie again, but I'm not sure how much I trust the MCU (Disney) with her portrayal - and she wouldn't get to interact with some of my favorite characters for her to interact with because the MCU killed those characters off or sent them back in time to 'dance' with the handsy, red-flag giving person who brought Hydra into S.H.I.E.L.D. Emma would probably be better utilized in a book where the powers of her snark and sass and mind aren't hinging on some screenplay writer's/director's shitty sexist agenda.
14. Assign a fashion aesthetic to this character.
Expensive Parisian Runway in the Streets, Comfy Borrowing Her Boyfriend's T-shirts in the Sheets.
24. What other character from another fandom of yours that reminds you of them?
Lagertha from Vikings. Maybe a little bit Bedelia du Maurier from Hannibal but without Bedelia's petty jealousy in Season 3. Maybe a blending of Montespan, Palatine, and Henriette from Versailles.
Loki:
5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?
Nature Boy by Nat King Cole
15. What's your favorite ship for this character? (Doesn't matter if it's canon or not.)
Tony Stark. Runners up: Bucky Barnes, Steve Rogers, Emma Frost, Justin Hammer. Following those four: Bruce Banner, Clint Barton, Natasha Romanoff, Fandral.
16. What's your least favorite ship for this character?
Thor and the Grandmaster.
25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now?
Okay my first-first impression of Loki as a Marvel character was that he looked fucking stupid and how could they disrespect my beloved deity that way. (My ex showed me the 80s comics he had, and I had this view of Loki from the first shot - nevermind that I don't mind the look now with Richard E. Grant because it served a fun purpose, a Glorious Purpose, as it were. But I mean, my ex also showed me Logan in those same/year comics, and I thought he looked stupid af, too.) Now I think they do better to portray a good look for Loki as well as his not-evil morally gray sass, but also I love him in the series as well because it shows a versatility to the character as is meant to be in a trickster and not just some one-mood (brooding/dark) that so much of his fans in fandom seem to cling to.
Tony Stark:
7. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you like?
When fandom pays attention to his PTSD and lets other characters actually notice his PTSD and try to help him rather than mock or try to humiliate/denigrate him for it. When fandom highlights Tony's big loving heart and his love languages with other characters.
11. Would you date this character?
Without hesitation.
19. How about a relationship they have in canon that you don't like?
Pepper Potts. I love them as friends, I do not love them as a romantic relationship because she's too dismissive of his PTSD and all the good he's trying to do. I'm also not partial to his relationships with Janet Van Dyne and Patsy (Trish) Walker (comics).
22. If you're a fic reader, what's something you like in fics when it comes to this character? Something you don't like?
Like: Kind of a repeat of the #7 question above, but also I love when writers perfectly capture Tony's sass and sarcasm. I love the extent that writers (including myself) will go to in order to come up with Tony's nicknames for other characters.
Don't Like: When writers imagine Tony as utterly selfish and spoiled and deliberately cruel. When they make his failures that he learns from and gets back up and does better the next time as some sort of unforgivable crime.
Thanks for all the asks! Don't be afraid, y'all! Give me more asks and other characters and fandoms if you like! These are a blast!
Character Ask Game.

@maddiesbookshelves' 2023 Reading Challenge Wrap-Up
Last year I managed to read 23/24 books in @maddiesbookshelves' reading challenged (and this year I managed to put off this wrap-up for a month). I know Maddie's goal wasn't to finish all 24 in a year but I'm a show-off so I tried and had lots of fun!
Hits
Small Game Hunting at the Local Coward Gun Club, Megan Gail Coles - as mentioned in my 23 in 2023 Wrap-Up, the best literary fiction I read last year
Nettle & Bone, T. Kingfisher - exceedingly cozy
Conversations with Friends, Sally Rooney - so glad I did this challenge because I don't think I would've read this one last year otherwise. Stellar literary fiction about hot mess Frances who is nonetheless proven lovable by the end :)
The Hidden Witch, Molly Knox Ostertag - the second book in such a cute and affirming middle grade graphic novel series
The Secret History, Donna Tartt - another book from my 23 in 2023, absolutely as worth it as the hype makes it seem (I still think of Richard having his hypothermic boy winter routinely)
Giovanni's Room, James Baldwin - belongs on every list of queer classics, a cutting examination of what gender means to both gay and straight people
Good books
Blood Like Fate, Liselle Sambury - a good sequel, especially with regards to character work
Ocean's Echo, Everina Maxwell - I read Winter's Orbit last week to confirm my suspicions that Ocean's Echo it not Maxwell's best work - funny and engaging nonetheless
Breakfast at Tiffany's, Truman Capote - when he feels like it Capote really can write
The Shadow of the Wind, Carlos Ruiz Zafon - exceedingly gothic
The City of Brass, S. A. Chakraborty - I remember nothing about the plot but I did have fun reading this series
The Empire of Gold, S. A. Chakraborty
Books I have quite frankly forgotten everything about
Scepter of the Ancients, Derek Landy
Squire, Nadia Shammas & Sarah Alfageeh
Far Sector, N. K. Jemisin
Verdammt lebendig: Medusa, Lucia Herbst
L'Arpenteuse de rêves, Estelle Faye
Books I am conflicted about
Dune, Frank Herbert - a decent examination of the hero's journey coated in three layers of orientalism, misogyny, and homophobia. I will not be continuing with the books, although I think I'll watch the movies
Learwife, J. R. Thorp - literary shakespeare fanfic about the world's curmudgeonliest woman
Bitter disappointments
The Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald - profoundly uncomfortable
After the Victorians, A. N. Wilson - profoundly biased
The Way of Kings, Brandon Sanderson - for a 1200 page book you'd think I'd be invested in the story
Book I didn't get to
The Origins of Political Order, Francis Fukuyama - still want to read this one someday
