I absolutely LOVE the mid-air transfer scene from this movie from like a technical/cinematography point of view. It’s an exactly two-minute long action sequence done in a single camera shot. The camera follows the characters, swings around the characters while they’re in freefall, it slides with the snack cart down the center aisle and onto the wing of the plane. It really makes the scene feel dynamic and moving, it’s a super fun scene to watch.
And I think is really something that shows what can be done with computer animation - this is something that would be nearly impossible to film in live-action. You wouldn’t be able to use stunt doubles, since the characters remain easily seen and carry short conversation throughout. You would have to fake the falling, and freefall can be faked using strings and fans and camera tricks, but to have them freefall, land, run around on the plane, and start freefalling again would require smoothly and invisibly switching the actors in and out of wiring harnesses. It would also require none of the actors flubbing their lines or the whole take would be ruined and they’d have to start over again. And the most important part of all of this is the camera! Even if you could do all those things, moving around a film camera to record it with no cuts and no shakiness would be the hardest part of the whole ordeal.
It’s absolutely phenomenal, I wish more animated movies tried things like this.

What if Far Far Away Castle was featured at Universal Studios Florida and Universal Studios Orlando?
20 years ago on this day, "Shrek 2" was released two days early from its initially scheduled release date, May 21, 2004. This film took the world of "Shrek", as well as DreamWorks Animation to new heights. Considering how "Shrek 2" was even better than the first movie, and also its huge box office success at the time, it gave me an idea I thought of a few years ago.
We all know how "Shrek" was supposed to be a satire of fairy tales, nursery rhymes, and even Disney classics, so I thought that since the Magic Kingdom was the main highlight for the Disney Parks (Mainly Sleeping Beauty's castle in California and Cinderella's castle in Florida), and the fact that Disney and Universal are natural rival studios, what if Universal Studios Theme Parks in the United States built a replica of King Harold and Queen Lillian's castle to compete with Disney's Magic Kingdom?
Though Far Far Away does exist at Universal Studios Singapore, here's my own interpretation for how I think Far Far Away Castle would look like in the US.
SETUP
The exterior would pretty much be the same, if not, downsized. For the interior, I imagined the castle would not only be a place you could tour around, but it could also work as a hotel. The rooms we've seen in the "Shrek" sequels like the dining room, the courtyard (complete with a wooden polished dance floor and a stage for live performances and other outdoor events), and even the library (even though you can't rent the books, as I think the shelves would be fake) would be present. The place can be loaded with bedrooms, themed off of famous DreamWorks Animation properties. Some bedrooms can also have a balcony where you can get a good view of Universal Studios from.
As far as other rooms, I was thinking there could be a swimming pool and hot tub area, a spa, an arcade, and even private movie theater screening rooms where you can watch your favorite Universal movies with your choice to see them in 2D or RealD 3D formats (depending on your liking, or what titles are available for both formats). There can also be a restricted area for adults only which offers a bar and possibly a casino, with "Shrek" themed slot machines and card tables.
This is all I've got, but since Nintendo beat us to it with Super Nintendo World (in a good way, of course), I still think this would've been a great sight to see for Universal.

: (Pack your 3D glasses everyone of all of the internet, if you want to be able to be going to Element City, you can be able to experience Disney and Pixar’s #Elemental in RealD 3D starting on Friday, June/16th/2023! (Ember Lumen does not look so bad for her wearing 👓, but if you want to be able to know how Wade Ripple will be able to look like while wearing 👓, 👆 is an example of him wearing them!) )
: Movie Plot Synopsis - Set in a world inhabited by anthropomorphic elements of nature, Ember Lumen is a tough, quick-witted and fiery flame young woman who's always stayed close to home in Firetown who loves working at her family's convenience store in Fire Town, but she has trouble controlling her explosive temper, if she touches water, she would be extinguished, so she holds an umbrella to guard herself, but she must also adventure outside of the fire enclave of Elemental City to save her family’s store from an uncertain future that she finally ventures out of her comfort zone to explore the spectacular world of Element City, a city where fire, water, land, and air residents live together which they all live in peaceful (if sometimes incendiary) harmony! In her journey, whose friendship Ember meets is with a fun, sappy, water-clogged man, go-with-the-flow guy, and an emotional water element named Wade Ripple, who is just living as an inspector living in the city all by making his own choices, and gets summoned after with a chance encounter by a plumbing accident at a convenience store owned by Ember's bigoted father, Bernie, who plans to retire to allow his daughter to run the convenience store for him, and also for Cinder, Ember's matchmaking mother who both of Cinder, and Bernie are very prejudiced against non-fire elements! While they cannot touch each other, Ember, and Wade meet several other elements who help expand their own horizons, and about to discover something elemental : How much they actually have in common! :

: This one of the video of the art book on the movie above here, thanks to Justin from his channel on YouTube for showing a making behind the scenes of this preview, etc., but other than the pages of what we have seen so far for all of the ones that he just shared with us, can anyone else whoever will be able to get the art book for owning it to themselves please be able to get every single individually of all of the ones that Justin did not show in the video?
: Also based on what I just found out from the Amazon website, here is what the book synopsis is all about of A City For Everyone, and for Unlikely Friends which this middle grade novel explores the unlikely, and unique friendship between the main characters of the film! :

Yeah, I noticed the box office blood bath. I wanted to see Barbie at AMC and it’s not even playing near me to probably save screens for the other films. I have to go to another theater near me to watch Barbie
Really? 🤔
I'm shocked about that.... Especially being AMC and all. 🤔
Speaking of AMC....
Y'all, I've just signed up for AMC A-List, and it's the BEST thing ever lol 😆
You can watch up to 3 movies a week, all for one FLAT FEE per month. 😁👍🏾
Being the movie fanatic that I am, and knowing all of the plethora of films that I want to see this year, I am ecstatic lol 😆 I'm gonna save SO much money rofl 🤣
Plus, if I want to see a movie again, I can just go again for FREE.... in ANY format! 🥹
It's a movie lovers dream! ❤️
Just saying!
Tumblr media
(I swear they're not paying me to plug this lol 😂 My membership has already been paid for, and I've only seen 2 movies this month so far lol 😅)

I think about that time I went to see the RealD 3D re-release "The Lion King" in theaters back in 2011, after having watched it for decades on VHS tape.
It's my favorite movie of all time, and I'd seen it so much that not only did the tape deteriorate a bit over time, but I also knew the entire dialogue beat-for-beat, word-for-word, flawlessly. You could not beat me at LK trivia because I knew all the dialogue, all the deleted scenes, all the alternate songs not released in the film proper, all the released production art, the storyboards... I was basically the LK Oracle of my friend group.
Or so I thought
As or turns out, I was both very amazed and somewhat shaken to hear Simba in the background at the beginning when he wakes up his parents to start the morning, and you can hear him babble "Dad! Dad! Dad!" during the "Before sunrise, he's your son..." exchange.
I had never heard that before, because I had a VHS tape and an old TV set that was well used in the speaker department, and so I usually used captions by default.
Never once had the captions indicated this was part of the movie. I asked to borrow the use of a more modern TV in the house to hook up my tape player, and found out that this exact line or dialogue definitely existed all this time.
It made me question every single movie I thought I knew by heart.
It's not an important piece of dialogue, but it's really brings up the idea of "What else have I been missing due to poor sound mixing or bad sound transfer??"
I love watching shit with subtitles on and discovering that mumbled background conversations were not only supposed to be fully intelligible but are in fact plot-relevant. Like please, for the love of god, can streaming services start mixing their audio right?
