So I finally watched Puss in Boots the Last Wish last week. YES IT WAS FABULOUS!! Yes there were parts that I teared up and others I was like ay this delicious angst. 

But, there’s still one thing I struggle to believe. Back when the movie had just come out, I got spoiled with clips on tiktok. In specificity the scene where the Bear crime family raids Mama Luna’s home. 

The moment I heard Papa Bear speak, I was like hey I know this voice. Although I thought it was Alfred Molina. I went rabid in thinking about it. Because like I’ve said I’ve been in agony that he’s been in 3 DreamWorks Animation Television shows but hadn’t yet been cast in a movie. I thought, FINALLY?? 

However when consulting his wikipedia and IMDB page I was astounded to find it was Ray Winston instead. But I swear that even as I watched the movie in its entirety every time I heard Papa Bear I was like this really isn’t him? Because I swear this is a voice Molina can do. I’ve heard it in other roles! 

The two coming to mind that literally match are the Multi-bear in Gravity Falls and Double Dan in Ralph Breaks the Internet. Go and watch to see for yourself please because I freaking swear

absolutely fucking reeling from puss in boots the last wish. my grown ass friends made me see it and it absolutely fucked. it was mad max fury road for kids. it was a horror movie about the fear of death. it was a western about an ageing outlaw trying to regain his youth with the help of his ex fiance and homeless harvey guillen. it was about found family. it was about needing people and asking for help. it had the best depiction of a panic attack i've ever seen in a mainstream film. the villain looked exactly like boris johnson. there was a wicker man reference. it had a kill count higher than most slasher films. it set up shrek 5. they even said fuck.

I whole-heartedly believe that it was Janine's idea and she lost her mind watching Egon and Peter grumble about it while Ray and Winston have the time of their lives.
