I'm a little disappointed we didn't get to see more of Randolph, Ladislava, and Metodey. I think it was a missed opportunity to show us why people outside of the Black Eagles would follow Edelgard and the Empire. Also, look at their designs. They're pretty. I want to see the pretty designs more.

Hubert Rarepair Week Day 5: Beginnings+Endings, Randolph von Bergliez/Hubert

Summary:

Randolph had interrupted her then and there. Had snapped at her to do something to earn her keep at Garreg Mach instead of gossiping about her superiors. Flustered, apologizing, she had run off to the kitchens. That had been all. Yet the conversation still made Randolph's blood boil to think about. Hubert von Vestra did not deserve that kind of talk. Never mind that she had praised Randolph in the same breath. If it weren't for Hubert's guidance shortly after the capturing of Garreg Mach five years ago, Randolph doubted he would have headed the monastery this long. Hubert kept this place running as much as Randolph did, Hubert regularly put his life on the line for the emperor, Hubert did the work of 50 men in half the time. Who was this woman to put looks above deeds? Personally the sight of Hubert did wonders for Randolph but that was far from the point.

Azure Moon AU where Caspar recognizes Fleche and... intervenes after the whole Rodrigue debacle

Caspar now has to answer for an extremely traumatized teenage prisoner of war as tensions and resentment escalate around camp. The Faerghus Four are really conflicted about the whole thing but mostly stay out of it. Mostly. Others are not so charitable

But Caspar sees the good in everyone and is determined to not give up on Fleche... He knows he could never replace Randolph. He knows Fleche hates him and thinks he's a traitor. His own side of the family was never close to Randolph's due to the inheritance feud, but none of that matters now. He is tired of fighting family and friends and if there's anything he can do for her then you bet he is going to try to save this one person

A reason to make my OC rise from a certain despot forum's death is always a good reason. I posted the design of this OC somewhere else, but the FE3H Drawing Challenge pose a good challenge to remake her outfit and backstory. Time to introduce you to my OC: Adelheid with an added context !

Knowing that the challenge began on the FEW:3H outfit but not the FE3H Outfit I know it's better to add context on her pre timeskip and her FE3H post time skip design (there were no pre timeskip design at first):

Adelheid Von Loewen is a crestless daughter of a minor landowner in the Ochs Barony. The baron Ochs (Monica's father) gave her father a portion of his land as he is his trusted bannermen. The Lord Loewen is an ambitious man and was dying to have an heir with a crest as to strengthen his family's name. Hence when Adelheid was born, it wast to a complete disappointment. Unlike other crestless children of a noble house however, she is like her father in the ambitious part. She befriended Monica von Ochs to gain favors from her future liege lady. Their friendship grew further and both enrolled at the academy at the same time, but everything changed when she was kidnapped.

Pre Timeskip (FE3H+FEW3H) Age: 20-21

Adelheid then was exiled from her territory until she could find Monica as her body was never found. If she lived, her task is complete and she is regaled as a worthy noble. If not, she is the primary suspect of her disappearance. However, she was given amnesty and shelter by Rhea who saw her potential (a.k.a if Jeralt or Catherine failed then she will get her new blood donor).

As the Monica of FE3H has long past and was "found" in a weird state; Adelheid decided to stay out of her hometown and observe Monica for a while, despite her father's insistent persuasion for her to continue her time as planned (to study under the Bergliez household). When Monica was found to be Kronya, she was exiled and then continue her life as a recruitable unit in Silver Snow, Blue Lions, and Golden Deer routes, as well as both the enemy and green unit (battle of Fhirdiad) in the Crimson Flower route.

FE:3H Timeskip

And a joke weapon (remember joke weapons from earlier FE games? Yes. this is basically just a stick. Just a long, sturdy, stick.), She also lose her Von Loewen family title as she failed her mission. Despite this, she is one of the youngest knights is named "The Gutsy Griffin" by her troops. She is basically a buff Ingrid with more movements and Attack to compensate on her lack of crests Age: 25-26

However, in her FEW:3H timeskip, Monica is found. This made her life drastically changed from her FE:3H counterpart. She went back to her hometown, trained under the Bergliez's household and became a loyal lieutenant of the empire. Rumors also circulated that she is to be wed with Randolph Von Bergliez brokered by her father, the baron Ochs and Count Bergliez, although the pair just brush the rumors as it is a time of war (It is in fact. Real). Sadly, as she did not have the interest in joining Shez as they have no chemistry, she is just a green unit and a battalion leader in this game (Ochs Infantry). She also lose her flying aptitude as she has less time to connect with a pegasus at Garreg Mach.

Randolph is the son of the previous Count Bergliez's second wife, and one who caused much familial strife. I wonder what the noble descendants think of a man like that being welcomed as a leader. Believe me, I understand Her Majesty's desire to elevate those who have not yet had their moment in the sun. But taken to excess, I fear it will invite backlash. Though perhaps this conversation is lost on you, seeing as you are a beneficiary yourself.

Randy - the "step-brother" of the current minister of war, a member of House Bergliez - is compared to Barney, a nobody ? 

What the eff is the Npc imperial general saying here ? Only blood relatives matter ? 

So an Ashe who defects to Adrestia will never be seen as Lonato's son, but will only remain a commoner ?

But it makes for an interesting AU, imagining Randy outshines Caspar and Leopold “What is strategy I use brute force instead” von Bergliez, would Randy be appointed Minister of War, overriding his “step-brother” and nephew? What kind of nonsense would it create in House Bergliez? Would Randy accept it? 

Given how he “awarded” a sacred weapon to Caspar because Caspar is a member of House Bergliez (nepotism bad, except when it’s for your own kid I guess?) I don’t think Leopold “I am a living retcon” von Bergliez would kindly offer the same gift to his “step-bro”.

Edelgard x Hubert Wedding Ideas

They could hold it in either a church in Adrestia, or just straight-up hold it in the ruins of Garreg Mach (it's a Rhea-free zone by this time, anyway)

Dorothea, Bernadetta, and Petra are bridesmaids. Constance can be allowed to join if House Nuvelle is reinstated. If spared, Flayn can be the flower girl. Fleche von Bergliez can join as either a flower girl or bridesmaid.

As for a maid of honor...this one is tricky, but either Dorothea (if M!Byleth is canon), or just F!Byleth. Alternative idea: Monica von Ochs can be a candidate (assuming it's not Kronya in disguise). Or maybe that Ladislava could work too.

Alternatively, Byleth (male or female) is the Archbishop officiating the wedding. (Count Varley, although a Bishop, is hereby BANNED from Edelgard and Hubert's wedding, or, at the very least, is not allowed within 10,000 feet of proximity to Bernadetta)

If spared, Seteth can be ordered by Imperial decree to officiate the wedding.

Since Ionius IX would have passed by the time Edelgard ascended the Adrestian throne, someone else has to walk her down the aisle. Likely contenders are: Hanneman, Byleth (either/or is fine).

Ferdinand, Caspar, and Linhardt are Hubert's groomsmen. Randolph von Bergliez can also be included.

The closest idea I have for a ring-bearer is Cyril...I guess Edelgard could show him mercy.

Now for Edelgard's wedding dress...you know, as a show of conquest, she'd wear a dress reminiscent of Rhea's white under-dress, but decorated with Adrestian regalia and symbols. However, she might retain the Crest of Seiros, since she's the sole owner of the crest now. Her bouquet will be made of crimson flowers.

Sometimes I think about Fleche in CF, calmly mourning her brother and taking over his tasks, resigned to learning how to move on without him

How a part of her seems to know this is the gentler outcome, that there is no timeline in which Randolph survives the war, but at least he died a quick and heroic death in this one
