Probably an unpopular opinion, but I'm so glad Berkut didn't get yet another alt. Rearmed Nuibaba is... certainly a choice, but the banner is pretty solid overall.

Okay but at first, I thought it'd be my boy (foolish thought, I know), which... I would have mixed feelings about, because on one hand: a Tobin alt (yay!), but on the other: a bunny alt (not yay). Anyway, Mae finally got something, about time. And she looks pretty great considering... well... Her hair is as fluffly as it should be, she avoids the bunny ears and gets instead a cute bunny hairpin (thank you Tantan!)... Honestly, she (and Lonq'u, probably) has the best art despite being a demote lol Also... Can someone explain to me why Kippu always seems to draw the bunny duo? If I'm not mistaken, they did Sonya, Chloé and now Plumeria? What's up with that?

Hapi reporting for duty! There is indeed no mention of status or commoner in the Japanese version. Sakura basically says she wants to help those who suffer regardless of whether they're soldiers or civilians. 民 (tami) means citizen/civilian/subject, not commoner, which would have been 平民 (heimin). So yeah, the distinction she makes in Japanese makes sense; soldiers vs civilians. In English though...? Either whoever was in charge of the localisation didn't proofread their work or, like you said, they wanted to make it about 3H.

@hapigairu I need your help. Just looked through Legendary Sakura's dialogue for anon and found this, which struck me as odd:

The whole status thing wasn't that important of a plot point in Fates so it's weird that it is brought up here. I looked over the Japanese text with Lens and it gave me this:

No mention of status. And a civilian is not the same as a commoner. Can you please take a look at the Japanese text? I fear the English localization team tries to force 3H's narrative into yet another game.

(Combining these, I'm sorry for my slow reply... :() My, three questions for a character I don't know all that much about haha, but this could be interesting! 12. What's a headcanon you have for this character? Hmmmm... Well it says in the Accordion that he was friends with Clive's generation, so I can't help picturing Jesse being... Jesse during any sort of reception or ball in front of a horrified Clive. Also, assuming Valentia establish diplomatic relationships with the kingdom Jesse and Saber found, if Clive is sent to negotiate on Valentia's behalf, I can imagine he'd have a hard time with it in the most hilarious way. 25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now? First impression: My guy, I don't know who told you to have this hairstyle, but... you shouldn't have listened to them :/ Also, is your kink getting easily stabbed in the torso? And wow, he sucks as a unit. :/ Intermediate impression: I don't like him because because I'm a petty clown who's salty about my boy Tobin losing to him of all people in the fuckability contest, what's more people who I thought were my friends voted for him. Truly an outrage. Now: I mean, I respect him for leaving his house for the sake of his brother. It's something I really do appreciate about Echoes too; siblings who care for each other however messy things can be. That and how nuanced the cast is (not counting Faye) despite how underwritten the game is overall, and Jesse is no exception. I still think he looks kind of silly, but he seems to be a lovable goofball overall. Also his ending is pretty cool, it's a nice touch that not every character decided to gather behind the new king and queen because they're the main characters, you know? And we were robbed of post-game supports/base conversations. I mean, imagine Python having a support chain with him? That would have been amazing lol 26. What's something the character has done you can't get over? Be it something funny, bad, good, serious, whatever? Honestly? I'd say how flirty he sounds in Japanese lmao It's like he's so used to flirting that he instinctly keep that tone whenever he speaks to... anyone lol

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

Um, everything? No, okay, hm... I would say how caring he is?

His reason for joining the war was to provide for his family who's been struggling to make ends meet. Like, fighting in the war was a big no until Lukas mentions that every soldier gets paid, meaning that he could help his parents, so he accepts to risk his life for their sake. I don't care what anyone says, I'll still find his reason to join the Deliverance to be the most selfless one out of all the villagers'. This isn't present in the English version, but at the end of his B support with Kliff, he's racking his brain to understand what's going on with Kliff and wonders (not as a joke, I should add) if he's in his rebellious phase. Whether or not his assessment is correct, he's trying very hard to understand his friend better and ahhhh...

This is only two examples, but he's just always thinking of his loved ones' well-being (or even those around him in general) and it shows in so many instances <3

Also! In the drama CD, which happens in Rigel, he's showing concern and empathy for the citizens and that moment when he saves a kid's life... If you haven't watched it, I highly recommend it! I'm a sucker for genuinely kind characters and this guy... Man. I love him so much.

15. What's your favorite ship for this character? (Doesn't matter if it's canon or not.)

Oh. Haha... I'm not really interested in shipping, but I'll do my best to answer! To be honest, I'm not the biggest fan of any of his popular ships? I loathe Faye x Tobin (he deserves much better imo). And I personally don't view him as gay nor do I find his relationship with Gray and Kliff to be compelling when it comes to romance. However, when it comes to platonic ships (is that how you call it?), I would say Tobin and Python! Tobin's canon class is heavily implied to be archer just like Python and... I'm a sucker for mentor/apprentice relationships, which would fit those two so well imo. An almost overly eager Tobin asking Python to please help him train because he's heard he was one of the best in the army with a Python who would rather take a nap (or something else) than train some loud and naive kid but ultimately comes to appreciate and actually get attached to Tobin (and let's be honest, who wouldn't?)? Sign me up! We also know from the drama CD that Python casually spilled at least some gossip to Tobin about Forsyth, and... I just imagine Tobin wanting to know more about these cool Deliverance veterans and Python just goes into gossip mode and Tobin just... eats it all up lol I wish those two had support conversations... Oh well... That"s what fanfiction is for, right?
