What a WASTE. The main love interest and there's... nothing there. NOTHING.

I think I may have described her as a plank of wood with tits. Man, I just wish she had more personality.

Being pretty isn't a personality trait. SERIOUSLY.

What do we know about her? She's intelligent because she's shown to be a plot device for Yeonwoo, privileged due to her parents. What else is there?

I'm sure she's a nice girl, and my dislike of her really isn't directed to the character. Just. Frickin' PTJ and his wonderful skills at writing women.

And oooooh nooo PTJ and his team can't ever forget the boobs btw. WHAT is with the women's bodies especially in season 2?!

Oh. And wtf. Did she really get beaten up as a plot device to bring Munseong back? My my, that's a new low isn't it?

Rumi

Quite like Rumi. She's shown to have a decent character development. Initially quite vapid and shallow but turns out she is kind and supportive and a really wonderful friend.

Also loved the arc where she quit the company and got scared. A very realistic response imo to everything and made her seem more of a rounded, three dimensional character.

Actually loooove her and Wangguk together, but I do NOT enjoy the pace of their relationship or how they got together. C'mon, you don't have to rush it.

And Wangguk blowing up whoever's place cos of Rumi's deepfakes?? BRO. WHAT ABOUT YOUR SISTER?? But that's a rant for another day.

Gaeul

Girl can fight!! Don't have much to add to her, although her character started off strong and now....

Honestly wtf was that Fake Couple arc with Hobin? WHY the unnecessary drama. Why are we reducing Gaeul to the third wheel between Bomi and Hobin??

Why are we also rolling Gaeul and Snapper out whenever the plot needs to move forward?!

Guys we were THIS CLOSE to having this character butchered and turned into another Hobin simp.

In Summary

Marginally better written than the girls in Lookism. At least Gaeul and Gyeoul can fight. Fucking LOVE Gyeoul.

Their body shape overall gives me the ick when combined with the way PTJ + co writes women.

Lastly, no words needed for the panel below. PTJ really wanting that harem for himself huh.

(The fifth heroine was meant to be the nurse.)

(And heroine is really a stretch. They are all damsels to be saved by Hobin except Gyeoul.)

If I don't paint for over a month I intuitively believe that I can't paint – that learning how to paint was a weird hallucination, that if I try I'll find myself as clumsy as I was when I was 18, taking my first watercolor class.

I have a big, neither bad nor good, almost complete painting of an iceberg hanging in my room right now and I don't believe I made it. It looks obviously beyond me to have made, or to complete.

(And so of course I don't go into the garage to resume work – who, me? Why would I do that?)

Not true of pencil drawing, incidentally – that always seems intuitively accessible.

Okay I'm kinda talking out my ass/projecting my own autism onto Saiki here but:

Though Saiki is an unreliable narrator and truly loves his friends, I think some of his resentment over hanging out with them is real, and I can understand it.

I am a person who can readily admit I love my friends, and I do like to socialise, but I need plenty of warning beforehand and time to recuperate afterwards, because socialising takes effort. When I'm invited to do something or hang out with friends, I almost always feel a shadow of resentment about it - even if it's a thing I want to do and with people I like. It still feels like I'm losing out on a day of doing jack-shit. Cancelling on doing jack-shit is still cancelling on plans, even if those plans were just "wake up, write fanfiction, draw pictures, etc." and it throws me off. I feel like I can't enjoy spending time with my friends unless I give myself time to get excited about it, and if it happens too suddenly I find myself shutting down or floating away a bit.

Now, if we look at Saiki, who's friendship with all these people was pretty much built on these kinds of interactions, and add those to his deep-rooted belief that he doesn't deserve friends, that resentment and anxiety must be even more strong. I think the fact that Saiki obviously grows to care for his friends really shows his deep desire for connection, even more so if we go with the interpretation that some of his negative feelings about them are real.

My point with this ramble isn't to say "Saiki really does find the others annoying and therefore doesn't like them" but rather the opposite. On some level, Saiki is "tolerating" being out of his comfort zone, but the fact that he's willing to do this for his friends shows that he really does care about them.

Started watching Dungeon Meshi and as a bitch who usually feels too overwhelmed to cook it's really inspiring. Decided to make ramen tonight after watching them make various soups and getting hungry, but when I went to get started I found out the pot was dirty. Usually I would've given up right there but I was like "if those guys can hunt monsters for their food then I'm sure I can manage hand-washing a pot." And then I did it

Jesse huffed, rubbing their forehead briefly before pressing the heels of their palms against their burning eyes. "I'm fine, Lukas," they muttered, slumping against a nearby tree.

"No, you're not. You're clearly sick," Lukas shot back, brows furrowed as he stepped forward, grass crunching loudly under his shoes. He set a hand on Jesse's shoulder, expression drifting to one of concern when they flinched.

"Being sick isn't that big of a deal." Jesse brought their hands away from their eyes, blinking a few times as the sun blinded their gaze before squinting at the blond. "It's... look, if you're worried about it, I could take a few days to myself."

Lukas nodded, withdrawing his hand from their shoulder. "Yeah, take a break. You'll let me know if it gets any worse, right?"

"Of course." They knew it was a lie, he knew it was a lie.

"Promise?"

"I promise."

Ramblings on Lookism (Rare)pairs

Listen, I will ship almost ANYTHING if you can convince me.

Gun x Goo? Because I want to mention them again. YES. Hello? This just makes sense. I hate you, I love you, I'll kill you. If you're going to die then it will be by MY HANDS. Does it get any more romantic than this?

Gun x Daniel? The AO3 warning tags has got me swerving this pairing to be honest. However, I love the idea of these two as a cracky couple. Lots of opportunities for comedy and for Gun to pop up behind a trashcan and be like, "Hi, I was thinking about you."

Gun x Samuel? Lol. Sammy would NOT be able to keep up or hold Gun's attention. Maybe something casual until Sammy spirals and Gun nopes tf out.

Goo x Samuel? I actually think this has more legs than the Samuel x Gun pairing. Goo will be impressed with Samuel's moneymaking initiatives, and they will have a lot of unstable fun together. Secret friends with their secret kisses and activities?? Until Goo realises that Sammy is unhinged in a mentally traumatised way and not in a chaotin gremlin way like he is, then will also nope out.

Samuel x Jake? There's just so much sexual tension there. Please just kiss already (see pic above). Nothing like this pairing to bring out the worst in each other, and that's really saying something for Jakey. Could be end game if Samuel goes to therapy. Actually, Sammy in therapy would just be unstoppable. Period.

Sinu x Jake? Yep. These two green flags would be bringing out the best in each other. Insufferable martyrs though for Big Deal. God, can you just imagine how happy the Big Deal gang would be seeing these two get together?

Vasco x Jake? Huh. Never thought about it but 2 himbos? The funniest shenanigans. I do think the dynamic can get a little boring after a while without one half to anchor the other. Their flirting scenarios, however... Imagine Vasco getting all red faced and flustered with Jake's winks and one liners!

Vasco x Jace? The cutest, most supportive couple. You just know that Jace is going to be affectionately looking on at Vasco doing all his Himbo shit.

Eli x Crystal? Ehh. I need convincing. With Eli's latest character development and what I remember of Crystal, they would clash and not in a fun sexy way. Both seem too headstrong and bullheaded to get on well.

Crystal x Zoe? Like Vasco and Jace, these two would be really adorable together. Would both help each other out with their Lookist tendencies. Zoe's kindess would also help to soften Crystal up.

Zack x Johan? YES. Johan the tsundere with Zack the simp. Have you not seen what Zack has put himself through in the latest arc? Everything he's doing to bring his boy home? If we take Mira out the equation, this might as well be canon.

Vin x Zack? I could not see this at all until the latest arc and actually, these two have the funniest interactions. Vin brings out Zack's bastard side from the first few arcs. I bet they would have the most pissed off sex. Can't imagine it lasting for anything more than a casual fling though.

Vin x Mary? No. Absolutely not. Love their platonic friendship and how they are bffs more than anything. I'll be honest, if it was another writer I probably would not mind. But PTJ has trouble writing a female character with depth so. Nope. Can't be doing that to our queen.

Sally x Warren? Is this even a rarepair. Either way, meh. It's fine. If Sally was shown to have a personality, sure. These 2 can share the 1 braincell.

Daniel x Jay? They are a very cute pair, and I do like how Jay's feelings are canon. This feels very k-drama with the Chaebol falling for you.

Daniel Harem? No. I generally dislike most harem tropes, sorry.

And just throwing in Hobin Harem? Definitely not. As above. Especially because this makes me roll my eyes that it's PTJ living out his fantasies.

Lastly, clarifying that I'm not fetishising male x male pairings. When hardly any of the female characters are developed, it's hard for me to care about most het couples or fem x fem pairings.

60s Mahou AU

-Selina’s soul was very unstable during this lifetime to the point she lived three separate lives before settling in.

-this is the first life where it all takes place in Gotham City.

-Honestly the most chill and whackier rotation because both sides of the conflict were trying to figure out how to go about fighting in Gotham.

-No Kaijus just a lot of one time mahou warriors (think Shugo Chara)

-Ed’s soul at one point splits making a whole separate riddler and Oswald has to help merge Ed’s soul back together (will write eventually when I’m less lazy)

-A lot of the souls in this era were not really stable tbh but they stabilize in later lifetimes (except Clock King more on that later)

-Ed and Oswald were very flirty during this time. Like to a point where Ed would find any small excuse to create chaos and Oswald would be very insistent that he’ll handle it (everyone knows but it seems very rude to tell them they’re not hiding anything well)

-this life onwards is what Jervis can remember but it’s in bits and pieces still

Lately I have been finding great comfort in the concept of romanticising the mundane. Not being extravagantly aesthetic...but finding the aesthetics, or should I say beauty, in what is seemingly ordinary and mundane. I have seen many videos of people going on shopping spree for cute things, decking their place up in colour co-ordinated decor and being trendy. And I have wished to achieve that and hence felt like what surrounds me is sub par. Then it hit me that no, there is beauty in what already surrounds me. I just have to find it. Like yes, cute ceramic bowls look very pretty...but that does not mean that our regular steel utensils cannot be perceived as pretty.

Also beauty is not just something that meets the eyes. It is sometimes that familiar touch or scent that takes us back to sunlit winter afternoons of childhood. Sometimes it is in the laughter or eye contact shared over spilled frozen peas. And often in the kiss that follows a successful cooking venture.

So here is a no frill video of probably one of my love languages...cooking together. Chandramukhi and I cooked bangers n mash and cheese corn ramen in our very desi steel utensils. Just a slice of the very mundane life and an obnoxious cartoon that i have strangely become fond of.
