Unsolved Mytheries is a silly little thing we started together by doing this (I distinctly remember us deciding to do it as bare bones!!) and never once have I regretted it. That silly little idea a bunch of wings of fire enjoyers had, holy shit. I don't know where I would even be without them, genuinely.

I personally have upwards of 100 characters, and I know this is the same for some of the others- not all of us, but some- and really, I try to put my all into every character because I'm invested in the story of the world, how everything falls apart and gets put back together, how magic mixes with reality, how the life is so different yet so similar to the life we all know. Curses, electronics run by magic, hell, even gods amongst gods.

All for the hell of it. To have fun. To bond. To make real, true, and amazing friends.

The world of Unsolved Mytheries is a world unlike any other, yet so similar, so safe to reside with. Yet, the world itself is held together by hardly kept promises, by the broken friendship of OC's.

It led to the most amazing people I'll ever know, the people I love the most in this world that offers nothing but the unforgiving ruthlessness of life. To the people I would do anything for, short of nothing.

And it started with a writing about some freaks living in a cabin, deep in the woods, a candy corn trail, and a bunch of bored people in the right place at the right time.

Roleplaying in all forms is amazing, but there's always going to be something different about writing it, about having the control of the world at your fingertips, about how any of us could have ended it all with no less than 2 words, about knowing that we all stayed there, that simply meeting online once a day to just write together grew to playing games almost daily, to slowly drifting farther apart yet still being so close, that can never be replicated by something else. Or, at least nothing I've yet to see.

I love my friends with my whole heart. Unsolved Mytheries may have started as just writing, words on a screen, but god it grew to be one of the most important things in my life.

Thinking about the casual genderqueer-ness in Rogue. Like, it's implied that Rogue is a humanoid alien (he refers to Ruby and Emily as humans, and cosplay as an "ancient earth tradition"), and if not, he's at least a human time traveler, it's never explicitly stated (the Doctor only introduces him as an "outer-space bounty hunter"). But either way, when the Doctor asks about the person he lost, he talks about said person without mentioning any gender until the end, when he says "and at the end of that day...I lost them" and it's such a small line but like. To know there's genderqueer people in either the future or other species that have at least some concept of a gender binary (or maybe they don't, but still) means SO MUCH. Like. Either we're still there, or we're not alone in the vastness of space.

Additionally, the Chuldur make a lot of casual references to shapeshifting to another gender. When the Duchess reveals who she is to Lord Barton, he says "I wanted to be her next". The Duchess goes on and on about how much she'd love to be the doctor, and when she goes 'I want to be the doctor. Who wants to fight for the other one" (Rogue), the Chuldur LARPing as Miss Talbot goes "me, me, me". Later when the Duchess is plotting she says "I can be king". And later, Miss Talbot also says 'I want to be [the Doctor], I want it, I want it!" AND at the end, the Duchess "give[s Emily her] full permission [to] become the Doctor". Obviously they couldn't have the character actually switch gender cos of the actors, but just to casually mention that gender fluidity, and that much is just. So important. Just to so blatantly confirm that aliens can and DO have different perceptions of sex and gender and that it's fluid is just. It's so comforting to see that so casually.

Blitzø had basically just challenged Stolas to take his turn at insulting him, let's go, let's have everything out, let's make this breakup a fight to remember, remind me why I don't deserve you -- and Stolas. Doesn't.

Because that's not how fights like this have ever gone for him. Stolas's past relationship wasn't like Blitzø and Verosika trading insults in Spring Broken; it was standing still and quiet while Stella hurled abuse at him. He's stood up for himself against her, yes, but how can he stand up against Blitzø? When Blitzø's right, and when Stolas is seeing Blitzø through such rose-tinted glasses?

From Stolas's perspective, there really isn't anywhere the conversation can go after that. Anything else that is said will just make the situation worse. So he ends it. And, honestly, even if Blitzø was reaching out at the end there, he still hadn't had time to process, and I can't really see an emotional reconciliation happening that quickly. It probably would've just devolved into another argument. At this point, space and time are the best things for both of them.
