The Democrats really shot themselves in the foot this election cycle by pushing out Biden, sabotaging Kamala, and refusing to condemn the antisemitism and racism from its own hard left faction.
You lose Black and Jewish voters, and you are toast!!!!
like when black ppl are like fuck the midterms they mean it with their chests! I feel the same way now!
We'll be fine. Black turnout drops in midterms anyway. Black women gotta decide for themselves what role will they play in the democratic party moving forward.
Whites will stick with their men & choose white supremacy/patriarchy . White doesn’t always equal pure
Like dear midterms, black ppl had a meeting and we decided it’s fuck you. Don’t blame yourself blame those hews and Latino men who betrayed us so it’s fuck you

Loooove how white women are blamed for both Biden and Trump having gotten into office from either side, respectively.
I've heard from left-wing youtubers that it was the rich privileged white women basically just following what their husbands/daddys said, prioritizing their wealth and race above all else, that went MAGA.
And now after Title IX I'm seeing right wing youtubers say it's the "white, overly pampered, suburban women" who keep voting for Democrats despite knowing what they do for women's rights.
Like those aren't necessarily wrong critiques! Those women exist! For a myriad of reasons. But why are they the only demographic singled out? (For context, I am indeed a white woman, but not American). How are ~we~ responsible for both outcomes? While seemingly being purposefully disadvantaged by either "side"?
#ramblings#yes i subject myself to brett cooper bc i wanna know the DW perspectives on things without listening to a man#and im again not denying that theres validity on both sides with those critiques bc ...there is#but the math isnt mathing#and they never seem to honestly engage with why their version of white women vote the way that they do#to leftists the RW women must be racist homophobes but we know with Title IX there was validity in their concerns for womens rights#to conservatives the LW women just wanna murder babies and pretend women dont exist but weve seen the rollback of Roe V Wade#and how thats impacted women across america particularly in the south#left wing right wing the whole bird hates women etc etc

really wish vampires weren’t so tied w antisemitic bs bc “blood sucking rich” is a very accurate way to describe capitalists and wealthy republicans
#im sorry but i need to reclaim this narrative#i dont think when ppl think of 'blood sucking rich' most average (not alt right or rw ppl) ppl dont think of jewish ppl#eye am sorry this is gonna be maybe controversial but. yeah#also i have spent too much time writing this fuckin comic and this vampire man is very much catholic and uses a lot of catholic#symbolism in his vampire bs#id tell you more but that would spoil the plot so#basically. he takes 'drinking the blood of christ' to a different level and stretches its meaning#so it fits his worldview and motives and beliefs etc.#likea lot of christian republicans do .-.#not with that specifically but the bible in general i mean lol#edit from future from about a year later: i think people do subconsciously sometimes think of 'blood sucking rich' as jewish ppl bc of#popular conspiracies but for people who arent more right leaning and looking for a reason to hate jewish ppl i think it goes unnoticed#i wanna challenge both their perspective of it being anything to do with jewish ppl and try to change the narrative around#bc quitre frankly it describes white christian conservative politicians and ceos n such far better than any jewish person i've ever seen

Hot take? A show with queer people in it from the beginning was never queerbaiting and— very literally and technically— never could. In the first episode, a gay man comes out to his family. And he doesn’t stop being gay after that; it’s a major plot point and part of his character going forward. You’ve had a married lesbian couple from the jump who are proud and unapologetic about their love for each other. The story has also portrayed several queer couples and stories in episodic plots, including featuring queer weddings.
Buck didn’t suddenly “become” bi. Queerness is not when straight people “turn” queer. He has been attracted to men the entire time; he has always been bi. Understanding yourself and your sexuality as a queer person is often so difficult under heteronormativity. Sometimes, it takes time.
Hell— Buck checking a guy out some time in season 3 or getting flustered by the idea he might like a guy, etc, etc, are not even examples “queerbaiting,” nevermind how the show already features queer stories.
I genuinely think some of y’all are just mad that he’s not sucking face with the man you want him to, and are being weirdly homophobic about it. “Buck kissing this man is kinda off-putting, lmao.” “Buck and his bf’s relationship is awkward. IDK, but it weirds me out.” “There’s something so cringe about Buck’s relationship—” “Who dates someone they haven’t been friends with for years first? It’s kinda creepy…” “I think their relationship is a weird mess. It’s not as meaningful as a slow burn.”
Life isn’t fanfiction and fanfiction tropes don’t make good writing. Most relationships start out with a “hey, I’m interested in you, let’s get to know each other.” You’re just transparently uncomfortable with two men expressing that interest in each other outside the arbitrary rules you’ve established to make a mlm relationship “legitimate” or “meaningful.”
[Fanfiction] tropes— from “there’s only one bed” to “we’re forced together, but fall in love anyway”— are responses to the sex-negativity and purity culture norms forced upon gender and sexual minorities. They provide a workaround for these norms but never a direct challenge. It’s like the Family Guy episode “Prick Up Your Ears,” where conservative Christian abstinence-only sex education leads to kids having ear sex. Ear sex is the workaround to the abstinence and purity rules they’d been taught, not the challenge. We still have stringent rules around who can touch whom and under what circumstances. Tropes reflect this. So, a trope like “there’s only one bed” provides the characters with a justification for their intimacy without directly challenging why it is taboo.
You’ve convinced yourself that shipping— and thus the tropes it employs— is more subversive than actual representation, and the people caught in the crossfire are actual queer people.
Also— for the love of fuck— stop comparing every mlm relationship to RW&RB.
#911 ABC#911 Fox#do you know how long it took me to understand#that my crushes on men were crushes#and not just ‘Wow. He’s neat. I really wanna be friends.’#‘Wow. I like his vibe and style. RW Headcanon: Goodnight, Moon
AHHH YESSSS, now that that Lilypad essay is done I can FINALLY share these—!
Hey, @ghostlycoze! So you remember a few months ago how I made that drawing acting on the Moon beepsnort headcanon, and how in my last reblog I eluded to the possibility of drawing out some of your headcanons again? Well, it looks like that time has come, and this time I've got not just drawings, but lots of additions to another headcanon of yours!
This time, it's from your tags in these three posts, which I also saw a while ago! Yet for some reason I began thinking about it again recently, and as is my nature with ideas I like, I decided to develop it further, and even draw it this time!
Also, just to preface, you'll see I did a bunch of notes beside the actual drawings as well. I'll share the picture and roughly type out the notes (in case my handwriting is a bit hard to read) as well as whatever info I couldn't fit on the page. Some of the text also just says "robots" rather than "iterators" because some of these ideas are stuff I actually imagine applying to robot characters in general! Maybe I'll make a post on that someday...
With all that out of the way though, the actual headcanon is under the cut! Hope you like it!
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
What are iterators like when they’re sleepy? Do they even get “sleepy” the way we humans do? This headcanon answers that question with a focus on the iterators’ puppets. Much of this info is also framed in the context of a hypothetical “worm-off-the-string” scenario, since I believe that’s the main situation where sleep and getting tired would actually matter to the iterators.
Firstly, when iterator puppets are low on power, until they find a place to recharge they usually enter a power-saving state where, to conserve what’s left of it, their energy is temporarily redirected away from some of their less-important processes. The side-effect of this, however, is that iterator puppets show symptoms of drowsiness kinda like humans! Whereas humans may yawn, stretch, or rub their eyes when sleepy, iterators will often make sloppier/less precise movements, close their lenses a little, and may even have a harder time thinking, since they sometimes shut off some processors and other cognitive functions until they can recharge. The most common symptom, however, is slurred speech, coming from less power given to their speech-forming software.
Another very-common sign of iterator sleepiness is frequent beeping, often in place of words. This is because, like slurred speech, beeps take much less energy and processing to make than analyzing data, formulating a complex response, then vocalizing it clearly. Beeps are thus far more efficient for conveying simple emotions and reactions than words. Looks to the Moon in particular gets super beepy when she’s tired because she and other early models relied more on beeps for communication — they were made back when things like vivid emotion weren’t as taboo in Ancient society, and iterators were meant to be more friendly and openly interactive with their citizens — so she’s more used to beeping to easily express her emotions.
As a side-note and mini-headcanon (wow, real headcanon-layering action here), while even the newest iterator puppets can beep, the older iterator models, as a result of this design influence, also have a much greater “beep-vocabulary” with a wider range of sounds that shrunk with the generations. Their beeps are thus a lot more expressive as well, with some sounds even being similar in nature to animal noises or regular speech! I imagine the entire range of their beeps would closely resemble shorter versions of the “droidspeak” sounds of the astromechs in Star Wars.
But, back to sleepy iterators.
When it’s hibernation time, iterators enter a “sleep-mode”, where almost all of their systems are shut down and recharging becomes the primary objective. However, compared to how I imagine other robots, iterator puppets have a unique way of recharging. Rather than shutting off completely and absorbing power from an external source, iterator puppets have a few key systems within them that remain on even during sleep-mode. These systems, just like those in their superstructures, are capable of converting nutrients into power directly. They emit a soft, rather comforting whirr while the puppets sleep — the only sound iterators make while sleeping, and comparable in nature to stomach sounds during digestion. Otherwise, though, the only other systems remaining on during sleep-mode are a few basic senses, and a program that decides when to “wake up”. The presence of this program also means, uniquely to iterators again, they can wake up on their own, rather than having to be powered back on by someone else like other robots. Overall, these systems are yet another aspect of iterator designs that make them far more biological than many iterators (*cough* *cough* Pebbles *cough*) would like to admit. And in my imaginings of a “worm-off-the-string” AU, systems like these are one of the main sources of both physical and internal conflict for these characters.
Also, since most of their systems are off during sleep mode, iterators sleep, both figuratively and literally, like statues. Whatever position they fall asleep in is the position they remain in the entire time unless a.) someone moves them or b.) they wake up and move on their own. This also means (unfortunately, if you thought these ideas would be cute) that iterators do not snore, shift around, sleepwalk, sleep-talk, or dream while in sleep mode.
That’s about it for this headcanon as it applies to iterator puppets overall. Now, I’m gonna get into how I imagine Looks to the Moon specifically likes to sleep.
In addition to getting very beepy, Moon also gets very cuddly when sleepy, though some of this comes from her affectionate personality. However, it's also due to a lasting trauma from her collapse. Of course she's learned to tolerate the rain over time, yet after spending so many cycles being rapidly drowned over and over in her can — with endless disorientation and senses so out-of-control from being disconnected from most of her superstructure, no one around to comfort her save for the occasional wandering creature, and the knowledge that her own beloved brother was responsible for this — it’s still left a fair amount of bad memories with her, especially from those cycles most recently after her collapse/revival, and this general unease often resurfaces with the sound of the rain. Therefore, whenever the rain comes, this trauma serves as another, more internal reason Looks to the Moon always wants to fall asleep holding onto/being held by someone, or at the very least while sharing the shelter with someone she loves.
On a more positive note, since I’m now officially a Lilypad shipper, I imagine that No Significant Harassment is Moon’s default choice of cuddling partner! It can be a little hard to get in position — I imagine Moon always likes to be the little spoon despite her being slightly taller than him — but they manage! Moon pretty much always falls asleep first, because, as the oldest model of the group, and having sustained the most damage post-collapse on top of that, she simply doesn’t use power as efficiently as the others do and therefore gets tired much more easily. In some ways, the poor thing even feels a little guilty about it; she’s supposed to be the leader of this group, and yet here she is, tiring out after less travel and growing drowsy before the rain even starts! Luckily, Sig makes an effort to ensure her she’s more-than worth keeping around, because after every awful thing the world has thrown at her kindness, the least she deserves is some quality guilt-free nap time! And sometimes, if they want a little alone-time (or if Pebbles gets too fed-up with their lovey-dovey gestures), it’ll be just the two of them, and perhaps their slugcats, cuddling together in the shelter.
And speaking of slugcats, Moon’s second choice of cuddles is Rivulet! Being very soft, warm, and equally cuddly, she makes another good source of cuddles for Moon. And sometimes, if Hunter’s also around and willing, the two join forces with Sig and Hunter for a big, soft, cuddle-filled slumber party!
Still, though, Sig is definitely no. 1 provider of snuggles for Moon. But he loves her dearly, so for the most part he doesn’t mind! Since she falls asleep first, some of his favorite moments each cycle are from just watching her and holding her close as the rainfall echoes from outside; she always looks so beautiful when she’s relaxed, and having her in his arms makes him feel like he can protect her no matter what. So he never really minds when Moon, slurring her words, tiredly asks for him to hold her while she enters sleep mode.
That is, except when this happens and he’s stuck in that spot for the next several hours…
A few more ideas to this headcanon:
Moon’s third choice of cuddles is Five Pebbles. It’s a bit interesting, because in basically all other scenarios Pebbles insists on sleeping alone in a separate shelter, even though he’s actually rather touch-starved (though it'll be a while before he admits it). Moon is one of the only people he’s actually willing to sleep with, besides occasionally Artificer (in which the feeling is mutual and no one else must be in the room). If I someday decide to ship Pebbles with someone, I imagine he’d also be willing to sleep with them, again, only if no one else is around to see it.
To elaborate on the last point and shift to Five Pebbles’ perspective, the reason why Pebbles always wants to sleep alone is because, as I imagine the worm-off-the-string story so far, Pebbles’ biggest internal conflicts are learning to accept all those “worldly attachments” the Ancients so strongly rejected, and overcoming his god-complex and fear of relying on others. And one of the main ways this manifests is him being so deeply embarrassed to be dealing with these basic survival needs — like yet another one of the savage beasts roaming the world, after having been a vast mechanical god so far above those primitive creatures — that he refuses to let others, even his friends and family, observe him in such a “pitiful” state whenever possible, and resolves to try and overcome it alone.
To further continue this idea, this is why Moon sometimes insists on sleeping with him. Even though he’ll have to overcome these conflicts on his own, it doesn’t mean he has to be alone while he does it. She makes an effort during these and other moments in this scenario to assure him that it’s okay, no one’s gonna judge or punish him for living this way, and she’ll always be there if he ever decides to accept some help. Pebbles always falls asleep with his head buried in her chest and holding onto her very tightly.
The iterators often like to sleep with their slugcats, who in the AU also stick around a lot to help guide them as they figure out the ins-and-outs of organic survival.
Both Moon and Pebbles tend to sleep in a curled position. It's actually very similar to how slugcats generally sleep!
Pebbles is quite the workaholic in general, but it also means he has a hard time falling asleep — not because he doesn’t get sleepy, but rather that he often denies it or its significance in an attempt to get more done that cycle (and because, again, he’s “too advanced” for animalistic things like sleeping). The group often has to literally drag him to bed to get him to sleep, and Sig often teases him when his lenses start drooping and his syllables begin to stretch.
In extreme cases, where almost all of their power has been exhausted, iterators won't just slur their words anymore, but their speech will often lose coherency overall, like a spoken case of very drunk typing .
When sleepy, Moon not only slurs her words, but has a tendency to say rather strange and very silly things. It’s another side-effect of less power being used to actually think through her words. There have been many instances where the whole group erupted in laughter after Moon made a really out-of-left-field comment!
Oh, and here's one last quick doodle based off one of the ones above:
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
Aaaand that's all for another headcanon! Even though it took me a whole week to do the drawings, it was SO fun getting to develop this idea, especially since sleepy Moonie is such a cute concept! I am so glad that you shared that little idea, Ghost!!
And speaking of which, if you've made it all the way down here, Ghost, may I invite you to add any more ideas to all this, if you want? I'd especially love hearing ideas for the other iterators' sleeping habits (how fast they get tired, what position they like to sleep in, who they usually sleep with, how they wind down before bed, etc.)! I mainly focused on Moon and a bit of Pebbles at the end, since I'm still trying to get a read on Sig and Suns's personalities (especially Suns), so it'd be fun to even further expand on this idea in that regard! Of course, you don't have to, but it's a proposition!
But regardless, I hope you and anyone else who made it to the bottom enjoyed my contributions to the idea! And be sure to keep the adorable headcanon ideas coming!!
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
Bonus: Here are the full sketchbook pages, in case anyone was interested in seeing the completed layout! I think I'm gonna be making more of these kinds of drawing/explanation combo artworks!3

Funny thing related to “if you took DiAngelo seriously you’d become a racist”
I’m a guy in my late twenties, took the full brunt of early ‘10s e-Feminism. Its excesses were numerous, and a lot of the rhetoric made me feel really bad about myself. Mainly because I had a strong identification with the sort of “protector archetype” of masculinity, and the idea that women would be afraid of me was really sad and upsetting. However, when I was in middle school and high school, girls were broadly pretty nice to me, or made fun of me in ways that went over my head, where the guys who bullied me were very in-your-face about it. In college I had a lot of female friends. Despite the pain of the rhetoric, and the anxiety it fostered in me, I was broadly in favor of feminism, even in its era of excess, although I did think some aspects went too far or were misguided.
Further cementing that was the fact that a girl who was very close to me was raped by a mutual acquaintance of ours, and nobody in our social circle really did anything about it. In 2014, the supposed heyday of believe all women. I’d seen a lot of misogyny growing up in a red state, and now here was some pretty real misogyny in a blue state.
I had pretty weird politics, but still took progressives very seriously, they were right about misogyny, from what I saw. I got a little RW over the migrant crisis in the EU, mainly for “protect European women” type reasons, but stayed semi-left.
To make a long story short, I was pretty upset when the MeToo era pivoted to the BLM era and my lib friends suddenly started posting about how we shouldn’t believe women, because don’t you know that white women are always falsely accusing black men of crimes, etc. Then Tessa Majors got murdered, who looked oddly similar to one of my favorite cousins, and my lib acquaintances tried to smear her reputation in order to defend the murderers. So when the DiAngelo crowd came along, and started saying things like “black liberation depends on the dismantling of white expectations of safety” or acting like black rights and white rights were zero sum, or that we needed to make crime legal to stop oppressing black people, I was in a position where I took them very seriously and was ready to get mad about it.
Anyway, that’s how I became a viciously racist white male feminist for a number of years. I’ve mellowed out a lot about politics, but even the mellow version of my opinions doesn’t really fit into any existing political coalition.
I still maintain that I’ve seen plenty of evidence of structural and personal misogyny in my life, and rarely if ever seen anything that should reasonably be interpreted as structural racism. The median RW voter is simply far more sexist than racist.
I believe max1461 posted once about guys who were more racist than sexist, and how they had a deeply unusual vibe as compared to the pedestrian more sexist than racist types of conservative. I can absolutely confirm this. I was completely bananas, and still am, a little bit.
on anon for obvious reasons lmao
posted without comment or at least without commenting yet since it is 1:30

the “revenge immigration” concept is the #1 thing pushing me away from the political left
I was always left-liberal growing up, had a great deal of emotional and rational investment in the idea of protecting the weak, protecting women, ensuring fairness, justice, and so on. Along with things like progressive/left economics, environmentalism, food safety, etc, that aren’t relevant to this topic.
I got really discombobulated when my liberal friends in college came out in favor of mass migration in Europe despite upticks in sex crimes, or when they started defending extremely lenient criminal justice policies in America, or when I saw their opinions about Rotherham and other such things. I still had my intense sense that fairness needed to be brought forth, but suddenly it seemed that many of the people being treated unfairly were from my ethnicities, and my “team” wasn’t shifting to take our side.
I actually got really pretty right wing on race relations, it felt increasingly like minority men and boys were seeing my group as their innate tribal enemy and sending attacks out against us, and the state didn’t care to do anything about it. The “anarcho-tyranny” arguments that the RW weirdos make feel much too close to the mark for my comfort. Idk how to feel anymore.
That’s the funny thing about the state monopoly on violence, it supposed to go both ways, the state gets the monopoly, but in exchange they agree to enact violence on your behalf when needed, so you don’t have to be at constant war with your neighbors. They are not holding up their end of the bargain. They manage to hold the monopoly if the attacked group stands up for itself though, because apparently that’s too much like a pogrom to be ok, but a rape conspiracy is all hunky-dory.
I’m politically homeless now. I still disagree with conservatives on most topics like the economy, workers rights, environment, abortion, taxes, but I’m somewhere to the right of Paul Kersey where crime policy is concerned, and I’m pretty much soured on multiculturalism and immigration. Protecting people from racially-motivated violence was supposed to be for everyone, but if it’s not going to work that way, I don’t want to live around other people who are apparently allowed free rein to hurt my female friends and family. I was against white racist gangs because I didn’t want to be in one, and I’d naively thought we all agreed that minority racist gangs were also bad for the same reasons.
to Feotakahari - RE: what could be done?
I want every grooming gang participant in jail for 25-life, and those sentences broadly reported to the public as a message that this is being taken seriously. Name and shame the perpetrators in the media, along with publicly naming and shaming any government official or police officer complicit in the coverup, along with possible jail time for the biggest “cover-uppers” on the grounds of obstruction of justice. Make people feel that the state will consistently protect the innocent and punish the guilty, and they’ll start to calm down. It’ll take years, that’s a huge blow to public trust in the powers that be.
This is, tbh, already a compromise, I’m very angry about this topic and would personally see it handled in a more medieval/tribal kind of way, but I acknowledge that that’s my emotions talking.
also, it’s only vaguely related, but Tessa Majors’ death was so emblematic of what I mean. If the races had been switched, it would’ve been a 6-month media circus and necessitated a “national conversation”, but when the robbed and murdered girl is white, somehow it’s not a hate crime? She looked a lot like one of my little cousins, so that one hit close to home.
You view your friends in a high-dimensionality way, as people to cherish and strengthen.
The political formation views your friends in a low-dimensionality way, as resources to exploit, and as the amount of human agency in the system declines and its sub-units become more unaligned from the national interest, less human attention, and therefore less intention, is directed towards the long-term preservation of those "resources."
You have the national interest layer, and then you have the bureau layer, and the career layer, and the not-even-career layer, and as the failure to align the overall structure through discipline and intention continues, personnel behavior within the structure falls towards the career layer and the overall structure's behavior becomes incoherent.
It took me a long time, reading from a number of sources, and developing some new analytical techniques, in order to develop my "missing agency" theory.
Interestingly, one potential implication is that as the behavior alignment level falls, the structure itself may become less able to mount a defense, due to a reduced amount of intention and investment behind it, and thus a reduced ability to perceive the environment and respond to change.
Thus, over time, an opposing organization higher in intention would need fewer and fewer personnel to successfully impose policy on the target.
The variable running in the other direction is that some guy who doesn't do his job but gets paid anyway can spend the money better helping to defend himself from getting punished for not doing his job.
Lots to think about.
ETA:
In markets, there's more of a limit on this mission decay, as there's much more direct feedback, and a structure that doesn't remain aligned will go bankrupt and has to outperform competitors.
However, the feedback on a corporation only causes relatively more local alignment. A lack of agency will cause a corporation to fail to adapt to much larger changes in the environment.
This suggests that there may be something analogous for politically-supported organizations, the political equivalent of going bankrupt.
That reminds me of the TIMAC post Graph of Redundant Inexpensive Departments.

new babygirl unlocked!! and he has HAIR!!!!!!
[ID: Photo of Los Angeles Kings prospect Aatu Jämsen in his Pelicans uniform. His hair is backlit to almost seem white, and streams out from under his helmet. /. End ID]
oh my GOD!!! new babygirl indeed... its giving barbie its giving goldilocks its giving hair on a my little pony toy... !
Quick notes on Aatu Jämsen. i am quite endeared. he is exactly my type of hockey guy <3
Plays RW! Drafted 2020, round 7, 190th overall. Before signing with the Kings, was playing for the Lahti Pelicans. Bit of a late bloomer, but he's tearing it up lately!! Probably why he got the nod from LA.
Per EP Rinkside, "Players with Jämsen's creativity are a rarity in Liiga. In a league where systems and team-wide strategy are at the forefront, Jämsen stands out with his puck skills and a flair for the dramatic. He's a legitimate dual-threat weapon in the offensive zone, and has also made some slight improvements to his physical game; a necessity if he wants to try to conquer North America next season."
So he's known for being very flashy. Quick, soft hands. Creative. Highlight reel stuff. GOATED on the shootout, apparently always trying crazy dangles in game... I'm SURE this type of prospect will be fine in the LA Kings system (<- lying but hopeful!! aslkdaskjl)
Here he is bullying the shit out of NHL24 champ/youtuber/ex-goalie Eki in the shootout. he yells "KUCHEROV" in triumph at one point after scoring on this guy who (checks notes) laced up skates to play goalie 2 times in the last 4 years - and i think that's so fucking lame and deeply charming.
and I am not surprised at all; he is VERY popular in the Finnish league.
Last month he got into a fight with Tampereen Tappara's Otto Rauhala. VERY unexpected, he's not a fighter at all. Rough google translate from this article, cleaned up a little by me:
Interviewer: What happened there? Jämsen: I don't know. Interviewer: So would you say Rauhala started it? Jämsen: You could say. I didn't appreciate his check in the first period of the game. Nothing more than that."
This is whole exchange is SO funny to me. what happened? he doesn't know. but if he had to say? then that guy fucking started it!!! but that's all <3 LMAO
HE MOONLIGHTS AS A RAP MUSICIAN. HELLO. His stage name is KIDJAM$EN kjlasdkljadlak HELP..,, here is one of his songs set to a short looping montage of Pelicans hockey players.. i think its a playoffs hype song??? I cannot understand a word of it. it DOES bang though!!! He plans to pursue music as a career if hockey doesn't work out. jumping from one risky career to another with no fear honestly go off!!! faith trust and pixie dust <3
everything about him i can dig up is like He's SOO flashy. eccentric. strange creachture. He bleaches his hair to get it that light. he did it to imitate Otto Salin, per this article. The picture is worth a thousand words tbh:
the fucking. LV sweater. the sunglasses. the coy look up at the camera. okay!!! cunt !!! <3
In the same article: he got very serious about nutrition and exercise last season after coming back from a break and getting BLASTED by his coaches for being out of shape. from the sounds of it, this dressing-down triggered his current meteoric rise? He was nawwwt taking his conditioning seriously before this. Since then, he's gained weight and become stronger, and has dedicated himself fully to going pro!
same article again: he's the scion of a hockey family - and god isnt that always the story?? His dad played for the Pelicans. his brothers Juuso and Vili also play hockey. The three have distinct play styles like a cute little set <3 Juuso the goal scorer, Aatu the playmaker, and Vili the GOON!!!
ough MIDDLE CHILD ALERT!!! it all makes SO much sense now....
Due to his flashiness on-ice AND off-ice, he naturally is a lightning rod for criticism. ice hockey is notoriously conservative as a culture and everything about him goes against this. Jams... Jammie... Jammer... idk what to call you BUT. your swag too different your slay too cunty, they're trying to kill you but you wont let them!!!!!
it seems instead of pivoting and making himself more palatable, he's only doubled down. i love and support him for this. if anyone has been on my blog they know i enjoy my guys with big personalities just as much as i love the quiet/underrated ones.
in conclusion, WELCOME TO LA. YOU ARE PERFECT FOR THIS TOWN, GORGEOUS <3
#thank u for prompting me to research him... any excuse to go digging into a new guy!!!#this is a pretty informal look. much of the info on him is buried in articles I am not skilled enough to fully translate lmao!!#he seems like a fun kid though <3 hope he does well here#primers#los angeles kings#la kings#lak lb#asks#user kmercer#aatu jämsen

"Oh, fuck off, you pasty old shrivelled old piss bastard fucking old cunt!"
Also, Anjana Vasan lady detective series when?

Ugly Betty (with mum) 4x16 All the World's a Stage
Justin finds himself in an unexpected triangle with his new pals, Austin and Lily. When Betty drops by class, she's smitten with a cool young playwright, Zachary, whom she will profile for Mode. But she challenges her own ethics when she starts dating him.
Justin not fully realizing and/or accepting his true feelings for Austin. Oof, been there. And Aaron Tveit should've sang to Betty at Mode, with Amanda as backup. Also, Good Willie should listen to Bahamas tits-out Willie and take some 'island time' off.
Unprisoned (with mum) 2x07 A PTCD Christmas Carole
While Edwin and the family deck the halls and jingle the bells, Paige must get to the bottom of why she doesn't like Christmas before she ends up ruining it for everyone -- and in the process has a major revelation and a healing.
I'm a bit of a 'nah bumbug' myself tbh. I appreciate the family time, but am not fussed for all the decorations and very over-played songs. Although Finn's gingerbread palace was "all hits, no skips".

Remember how I said I finally read RW&RB a while back? Well, I finally watched the movie. And..... I really super duper wish they would have just left the book alone (more so because the content/characters they cut out were SO central to the story-line that they might as well have just made a different movie entirely). Ugh, bleh. I need to read the book again-
My guy I literally was *just* reading through a thorough analysis of why the movie felt so off! June and Rafael were so integral to the plot/themes of the story, Bea and Nora were made into completely different characters, the aspect of Ellen and Oscar's divorce being missing hit me on a personal level (even if I understood why they did it), and like...the entire last half hour of the movie, basically everything after the lake scene, felt so OFF that I couldn't stand it. Basically every questionable pacing/writing/ordering of scenes decision was made from the fact that they took out all of the queer history in the museum scene, the fact that Alex makes his speech coming out about the relationship BEFORE he talks to Henry, the fact that a queer Latino man outs them due to jealousy rather than, you know, THE RICH WHITE CONSERVATIVE HELLBENT ON DESTROYING EVERYTHING QUEER and then him literally being EXPOSED by a queer Latino man (the optics on that last one are a bit...yikes, ngl). I appreciated what they did with the movie, a family-washed queer romcom is still better than nothing, but some decisions are BAFFLING.
(Though I have absolutely no notes about how they executed the lake scene. The acting during the moment that Henry is listening to Alex's feelings confession and you can just SEE the moment he shuts down because he knows he can't give Alex what he wants? And then the shot of him in the lake? 10/10. No notes. The ONLY scene that is better in the movie than in the book.)
But yeah, I'm almost glad that my favorite book is a self-published indie sapphic alternate history novel because that means no chance of movie adaptation. As much as I would KILL to see President Janine Moore, Cynthia Freeman, First Gentleman Preston Lithwick-Moore, Guadalupe di Angelo/Luis Diaz, and First Daughter Annette Moore on my screen, I would be TERRIFIED to see how they'd make it palatable to straight audiences.

😬
the "leader" is more like "leaders". normally one might think of stalin or something, but hes just a blueprint, the actual leaders are the ones at the top of the social pyramid within these spaces, such as popular tankie blogs
this ones obvious. i dont feel like i need to say anything. we've all seen how ppl act on here when you question any of their beliefs or the effectiveness of them, etc. and if you challenge them at all or say you dont agree, suddenly you're a horrible person or even a bigot of some form
i underlined "denunciation sessions" bc theres a big emphasis on here to denounce the old "unwoke" parts of your life. not so that ppl should change for the better, but because there's a pressure to change immediately and throw all your old beliefs out the window without even really unpacking them. its their way or the highway and you have to choose right now and its not a multiple choice test. i also underlined "debilitating work" bc theres an emphasis on reblogging things to "spread awareness" or whatever as soon as it pops up on your dash, and if you dont, you're a horrible person, etc.
while i dont really think many of the options given necessarily apply, they sort of do. you dont need "permission" to date, but you'll be berated for dating the "wrong type of person". you'll be told to change or quit jobs if the job does something tumblr communities dont agree with, even if you need the job, and usually they'll call it "boycotting" to make it seem more legit. they'll discourage you from moving to any state or country that they deem isnt progressive enough.
this one goes without saying. instead of it being some random air of superiority, it's "we're the most moral, correct and progressive people" superiority
this one also goes w/o saying, people on here think incredibly black and white all the time, its definitely encouraged.
this one ALSO goes without saying
this one is obvious as evidenced the past two months. everyone saying "believe victims" and that "rape is always bad" in the past but then coming in to defend hamas' actions at every turn and deny the rape or even say that "if it did happen it was justified". which is a fucking wild way to think about the world and you should be locked up.
also obvious. tankies love to guilt trip. nevermind if it backfires on them and makes ppl resent them and move to the right after. i mean, after all, all they cared about was the power they had in telling ppl what to do, not actually giving a fuck about anything or having any convictions.
yes bc if you interact with anyone ppl on tumblr generally dont like, you'll also be shunned. if you have family members who aren't "progressive" enough and you still accept them into your life and hang out with them, even if you dont necessarily want to or dont necessarily like them fully, the fact you still interact with them at all is bad, apparently.
obviously, bc who would want to stick around a place like this once they realize whats really going on. its why they demonize ppl like me or anyone who questions them too much and pushes us to side, to use us as examples for the new, younger people coming in that they get to manipulate and tell them to avoid you and avoid being like you, since you ever dared to question them. they'll call you whatever they need to, make bullshit up about you, JUST to lure ppl in and tell them how much better they are than you, or that if you listen to them they can avoid being like you.
i mean. yeah? maybe it doesnt seem that way but. ppl asking for money all the time through paypal or whatever? or the overall goal of "taking the billionaires wealth and redistributing it", while its a statement i generally agree with, i dont trust that the people saying it will be that responsible, and would probably just hoard money for themselves, and deprive it from people they "dont like" on purpose, almost as revenge for a real or perceived slight, or just bc they dont like someones "bad vibes".
yeah you're apparently supposed to take having tumblr mutuals very seriously, treat them like best buds even though you've probably never messaged eachother or messaged eachother twice about inane things you saw on tumblr. its not a total stranger bc its someone on tumblr so its fine actually! see, they say they're queer and a leftist in their bio, totally safe! thats all it takes! also activism is reblogging or something ig
if you go to other sites, you're looked down upon. if you make friends outside of tumblr communities, you're looked down upon.
people feel like w/o the communities they've built on tumblr, they have no safety net elsewhere, probably bc they've cut contact with WAY too many people, probably plenty of people who didnt even deserve to be, and probably bc they disagreed on like 1 or 2 things. regardless, they cling to the tumblr "safety" net for dear life. "if no one else got me, i know tumblr got me, heres my paypal" essentially. you cant trust the world outside of tumblr to take care of you never of course, its all bad and horrible and can never be fixed or useful in any capacity, etc. burn it all down and start it again with tumblr users in charge and then it'll be perfect, or so they think.
#cults#ex cult#tankies#yall make progressives look so so bad.#yall actively hurt leftism at every angle.#the way ppl on this website act is no joke part of the reason why conservatives think leftists are in a cult.#its bc the more extreme of leftists kinda fuckin are#sure conservatives make shit up about us too like the whole 'child grooming' shit but they're still not exactly wrong for seeing#some of yall as culty. idk what to tell you. they just take advantage of the perception of the culty part of the left to push a narrative#about leftists in general and sprinkle in conspiracy theories for THEIR own rw cult to keep them in check and to maybe lure in#people who are paranoid- bc ppl have every reason to be paranoid of the culty parts of the left- but conservatives take that and then also#add in a couple lies for their own agenda and benefit. a mom could be concerned about drag queens talking to kids and maybe stumbled#upon kink discourse- maybe even possibly on here- and found minors interacting with the discourse and then goes to the right and they#say that 'yes the left wants to groom your kid into becoming gay and doing 'HEINOUS' 'brutal' kinks! and drag queens are part of it!'#or whatever tf along those lines. and then maybe shes still on the fence about it but some extremist on the left being ironic#embraces all these accusations and shitty perceptions and says they're true to- in their minds- push the right ppl away#even though theyre also pushing ppl on the fence to the right. maybe they do it out of irony or bc theyre just tired of the bs but either#way feeding into it actually doesnt help- not to surprise you! gotta be more careful around paranoid ppl.#your apathy about how you come off isnt always a good thing.#a better example might be when conservatives go 'oh the left is so horrible and violent' and ppl in the middle are like 'really?' and look#over to us for a moment and see the assholes in the back going on about gulags n shit along those lines- only confirming the bias#made against them.

8-0 wipe strat for any current ver RW matchup in literally three words: "male crime stats".
also "in the long term it leads to stasis", yes, the conservative cause of preventing stasis, obviously
BAP and the others are not conservatives, but reactionaries (def = self-id, not "irrational").
I may cover the other problems with their proposal later, including that we may be looking down the barrel of a massive positive capital shock which would be a bad time to lower the empathy of the electorate, but I have so much writing to do.

hi i'm grimmie but you can also call me linnl if you want
i need tone indicators so please remember, as i have gotten into conflicts directly due to not realising the tone of something, it's okay if you forget i'll probably just ask you what the tone if it was, don't feel bad
i'm probably mostly gonna be posting AVA/M and RW stuff, but i might also post HK or CJ content on occasion (if i post at all, that is)
i'll probably have an irregular posting schedule, since, y'know y'know school, job, all that (i may also post at odd hours, who knows)
i'm also pretty slow when it comes to art of humanoids, especially if it's before i've figured out their designs, so i'll probably be posting more shorthand designs, actual stick figures, and animals, sorry ^^'
you can message me if you like, i'm too scared to do it myself but will probably respond if you go first
also fyi i tend to speak in a very... strange way so if i seem cryptic or don't make any sense whatsoever just ask me what i mean and i'll clarify
more things under the cut

Everyone else, including otherkins and therians, are okay to interact, I promise :) /gen
Little things about me
I absolutely LOVE when people explore what happens directly after story events, such as moments after MT attacked those fair workers, or after HMS reaches wholeness! I don't see people explore things like those a lot, and it always makes me so excited when I do!
I love love LOVE it when people go into depth about the anatomies of seemingly-human or human-esque beings! Like giving HMS non-human traits or giving stick figures anatomical differences from humans, like digitigrade legs or sharp teeth!
I also really like isekais!! Especially HK isekais :3 (if you were around in the HK AO3 community a year or two ago, you would know why)
My fav characters for AVA/M are: c!Alan, MT, Victim, and TCO
My fav characters for RW are: The Gourmand, LTTM, and 5P
My fav character for CCCC is: every character except Heart
Tags will be made and shown here as needed :3
I hope you enjoy being on my page! And if not, that's okay too!

(disclaimer i havent seen or read rwrb) heartstopper is a bit cringe but tbh i love it bc of that… i’ll never love wtvr nick n charlies ship name is the way i love byler but the show itself makes me so happy in a way st (usually) doesnt. maybe thats bc i havent been exposed to enough queer tv so i just love it wherever i see it but as a queer teen in a mega conservative us state it feels so hopeful/joyful esp compared to all the trauma will goes thru in st bc of his queerness (or wtvr various homophobic things happened in young royals i didnt watch the whole thing)
not that i dont love st (my blog is byler themed lol) but thats my unasked-for defense of cringe gay tv/movies. overall i just want MORE queer tv shows whether theyre cringe n saccharine or ultra serious n depressing :) would love to hear ur thoughts if u want to share or u can let this marinate in ur inbox or delete it w/o reading. peace and love !
and im so glad it brings other people joy!! when i say my own opinions that is not me saying the show/movie is objectively bad. i totally see the appeal of a happy gay show like heartstopper, i personally just prefer things that arent lighthearted and romcommy feeling. like my favorite genres are scifi, horror/thriller, and murder. i like deep and dark shit thats not always boiled down just to a ship.
and also i wanna make it clear that when i say “serious tone” that does NOT equate to depressing!!!!!!!! i am NOT saying i dont like happy endings. it just means i want it treated in more of a real way and not romcommy. i dont like the cutsey stuff like the doodles in heartstopper and how they filmed the phone calls in the first bit of rwrb (i know you havent seen it but just trust me). for me personally things like that just completely take me out of the movie like i just want to watch it authentically like it would have happened irl and thats how more dramatic and serious toned shows/movies are always shot.
i also tend to like my gay fiction to be within a much huger story. a good example of this is the show, the wilds. that show is about a severly fucked up social experiment involving 8 girls and a staged plane crash that leaves them stranded on an isolated island and two of the girls end up together. i LOVED how they wrote that. amazing show highly recommend. this is also one of the reasons i love byler. its a part of a much bigger story and its treated seriously while still being cute and beautiful. plus im 10000% sure itll have a happy ending so again, serious in tone does noooot mean depressing.
thanks for being respectful in this ask and not just trying to change my mind or act like im not allowing anybody else to enjoy what i dont enjoy. and i will say since you do love heartstopper, youd probably love rw&rb and i highly recommend it! and if you want a list of more queer fiction recs i can def give you that (but obviously mine will be less lighthearted than heartstopper).
#i already have one of sapphic fiction somewhat recently you could scroll through my anon tag and find it#eden answers

You've been glossing over the fact that labour lost a lot of their vote share to Reform and lost seats to independent Islamists.
hi!!! forgive me - im not sure if im just being dense or otherwise ignorant to what your point is, or im just once again being crap in reading tone, but in any event i am hardly an all-encompassing expert on this. i just find politics interesting.
but okay yeah, let's talk vote share. parties benefit under the fptp system, rather than under a pr system. that's why it's there. labour has an approx 34% vote share, winning 412 seats, but if we had a pr system this number would be lower. reform has an approx 14% share, winning them 4 seats (all gains from conservative). independent has a 2% share, winning them 6 seats (5 of which are gains from labour). tories, for comparison of all - approx 22% share, 121 seats. labour increased by 211 seats, tories decreased by 250. however, all those seats number would be different, i imagine, under a pr system.
but looking at percentage changes, you're absolutely right in the regard that reform does have one of the most eye-opening changes. labour vote share only went up by 1.6%. by all accounts, given their landslide, that number should be huge. but if we look at the tories down by 19.9%, and reform up by 12.3%, i actually think the answer lies here. imo, yes labour won, but we shouldn't make the mistake in thinking that labour won because of overwhelming love for labour. labour won because the tories lost. imo, people are more dissatisfied by the tories, than they are enraptured by labour. unfortunately, that has led to the people splitting what would otherwise be a loyal tory vote.
no doubt some of the labour vote share was lost to reform, i think that's sensible to assume, but given that the increase in reform's vote share went up drastically (for a relatively new party entering the race), and tories relatively plummeted - plus all seats gained by reform are from the tories, and polls showed that a large number of former tory voters since the election was called in May were planning to change their vote to reform - i personally would say that their increase in popularity is down to tories losing their stronghold on their stauncher (and more terrible) rw votership.
reform was dangerously close to winning more seats - only around 5000 votes were needed to win them a total of 12 seats, iirc. and they were second place in over 100 constituencies? i think? either way, yes, there were a lot of seats won by conservatives where reform came second... but there was also a fair number of now labour seats where reform came second - indicating once again that it's not so much a win for labour, but a loss for the tories (to essentially place third, after being the biggest party for years):
as for the independents. yes, 5 seats won from labour as i said, on a 2% share, 1.4% increase. labour wants to call for a ceasefire, and advocates for a two-state solution. 4 of the seats that labour has lost have been to pro-palestine candidates. we can put two and two together here. labour are advocating for a solution to the conflict and genocide that is at the very, very least, imo, deliberately (and dangerously) non-committal and moderate, and arguably performative. the war is a very controversial and important issue that people will very understandably take a stance on and base their vote in that. ie - where the war is a paramount topic to people, they will look to vote in candidates that oppose what labour would look to negotiate. so again yeah - labour have likely lost vote share and seats to independents presumably based on their palestine policy, but it is still 6 seats total, and 2% share only.
furthermore, there is the question of what else these independent candidates would vote on in the house; presumably, outside of the conflict, they would vote in line with government (being formerly labour seats), not the opposition - but i will add here that im not so clued up on their individual policies (mea culpa), so i may be wrong... but if im not, would these seats essentially be closely aligned with labour anyway? ie. might as well be a labour seat? possibly, idk.
so yeah in conclusion to what i think your ask if getting at, because ive waffled long enough: no, i personally don't think that labour has lost a significant share of their vote to reform, but instead the tories have, and that has led to a split vote that has allowed labour to come out on top - again, not an indication that labour won or is miraculously better, but moreso that the tories lost and is shit... and labour won almost as if by default.
as for independent seats, yes i imagine that the seats that labour lost have been over labour's stance on palestine, but equally if that is the only point of conflict for voters that would otherwise vote labour (idk if the seats were previously labour safe seats, or if they were swing - i ought to look this up, forgive me), it could be argued that the independent seats might as well still be labour anyway on matters of other policy outside of the conflict.
another point that i think is worth mentioning, but largely unrelated to the above. there have been constituencies where tories have won by a whisker, compared to the secondary party. ive found this to be the case in my county, especially - like, 100-200 votes' difference. my constituency changed to lib dem, but this was a tactical vote win, and i doubt it was out of love for the lib dems. instead, we just wanted the tories gone (and for context this has been a tory safe seat since like. the stone age). but some neighbours kept their tory safe seats because people didn't vote tactically. these are the votes and share change figures from one constituency nearby:
tories: 14728, -21.1%
labour: 14607, +18%
lib dem: 11387, +19.2%
reform: 7085, +13.5%.
this constituency specifically had no set tactical vote because of previous independent votes, but majority of polls indicated labour. the votes certainly reflected that, in that tories dropped drastically and yet still won the seat against labour by only 121 seats. multiply this across the country - and i think it strongly argues my point that this is a tory loss, not strictly a labour victory. but where this regrettably remained tory safe is, imo, largely due to people not voting tactically. i think the labour and lib dem percentages reflect that.
the fptp system is pants, and pr would be arguably better for representation in theory, but if we talk about how voter concentration is arguably more important a concept than voter share (especially given that constituency boundaries changed, hereby reflecting this issue around concentration), pr is not great for local representation within the house itself. that being said, even if a system like stv could potentially rectify the issue of proportionality, i doubt the system will change any time soon anyway.
#there's stats and figures in this but i am by no means an expert. this is just my opinion ok#uk elections#edit: another constituency declared for reform after this was posted (there had to be a recount) which was again a tory seat and so#stats will now be slightly outdated
