After-Action Report:

SWMC Alpha/Bravo, CFRI 1C Alpha/2C Alpha:Damaged units (SWMC A-2, A--3, B-3, B-4) escorted home by Angel-5 and Angel-6. Angel Element conducted aerial docking with CFRI Leopard-1 “Liberty” to return to JumpShip for refuel and rearm. SWMC Combined Elements held on-location against WoB Patrol elements while awaiting reinforcement from CFRI 1C-A/2C-A. Combined arms force designated “WESTWING” proceeded to secondary target “HERA.” As predicted by intelligence, minimal ground support was present along supply routes.

Contact at target was heavy, as predicted. Accurate fire from Heavy LRM turrets accounted for heavy damage to non-’Mech units and the loss of CFRI 2C-A4. Careful maneuvering by CAMG Scorpion and attached infantry elements prevented outflank by WoB Heavy Infantry, request for commendation award. SWMC Lances suffered damage, but secured an advantage against the opposing Choir with a lucky Heavy Large Laser headshot against the commanding Grigori. Bravo 5, however, suffered a loss of right leg functionality late in the fight, and was forced to withdraw. Lack of available air assets to deliver directed anti-structure ordinance forced “WESTWING” elements to conduct an hour-long bombardment with ‘Mech and vehicular heavy weapons. Primary objective completed, all field elements returned to FOB at LZ JUNO.

Poutine ordonne le déploiement de ses armes nucléaires tactiques après les menaces d’intervention de Macron.

Les Russes réagissent suite aux menaces de Macron de déployer l’armée française en Ukraine.

RT :

La Russie va tester sa capacité à déployer des armes nucléaires tactiques, a annoncé lundi le ministère de la défense. L’exercice aura lieu « dans un avenir proche » et a été ordonné par le président Vladimir Poutine, selon le communiqué. Les forces de missiles du district militaire sud seront directement impliquées dans l’exercice. Il nécessitera également la participation d’avions militaires et de la marine russe, a précisé le ministère. L’objectif de l’exercice est de régler « les aspects pratiques de la préparation et du déploiement d’armes nucléaires non stratégiques« , a ajouté le ministère.

L’armée a invoqué les « déclarations provocatrices et les menaces proférées par certains responsables occidentaux à l’encontre de la Russie » pour justifier cet exercice. Les troupes confirmeront qu’elles peuvent « assurer l’intégrité territoriale et la souveraineté inconditionnelle » de la nation, a ajouté l’armée. Moscou dispose d’un large éventail d’armes à capacité nucléaire, allant des missiles balistiques intercontinentaux à longue portée aux armes nucléaires tactiques à plus petite portée. Dans le contexte du conflit ukrainien, de hauts responsables russes, dont M. Poutine, ont déclaré que la doctrine nucléaire du pays autorisait l’utilisation de ces armes lorsque l’existence de la nation était en jeu.

La Russie a 10 fois plus d’armes nucléaires tactiques que les USA.  La France n’en a aucune.

La Russie peut frapper les lignes de front avec de telles armes sans que l’OTAN ne puisse riposter symétriquement. En très peu de temps, les unités de l’OTAN déployées seraient détruites.

Medvedev a expliqué la situation sur Twitter.

Le chœur des bâtards irresponsables au sein des élites occidentales qui appellent à l’envoi de troupes dans ce pays inexistant s’élargit. Il comprend désormais des membres du Congrès américain, des membres des administrations française et britannique, ainsi que quelques fous des États baltes et de Pologne. Et, hélas, pas à l’intérieur des frontières de cette putain d’Ukraine.

Dans ce cas, aucun d’entre eux ne pourra se cacher ni au Capitole, ni à l’Élysée, ni à Downing Street, 10. Ce sera une catastrophe mondiale.

C’est une chose que Kennedy et Khrouchtchev ont réussi à comprendre il y a plus de 60 ans ; et une chose que les crétins infantiles actuels au pouvoir en Occident ne veulent pas comprendre.

Game References Part 2

I would like to add some more references from other games. These all have certain elements/features or mechanics that I love and would like to reference when coming up with my own idea

Endless Space 2 (faction lore, 4x elements, music)

Endless space 2 is one of my favourite 4x turn based strategy game's. One of the main reasons for this is the interesting factions and their unique gameplay mechanics. For example, one of the factions is called "Horatio" which is all about a an exceedingly rich eccentric trillionaire who proclaimed himself emperor and started cloning himself, until he built an army of clones which he aims to conquer the galaxy with "beatifying" it by creating more Horatio. The faction has a unique mechanic of splicing other alien species DNA into their own for bonuses.

Another interesting faction are the Cravers, which eat through the planets they occupy and enslave their species giving large production bonuses but eventually the planet is devoured granting very few bonuses.

Lastly, another faction I like is the Umbral Choir which is a stealth based faction, which has it's own unique gameplay mechanics as well, focused on stealth and plays totally differently from the other factions. One of these mechanics is that instead of settling on planets, they settle on hidden sanctuaries around the planet. Another faction may conquer said planet without seeing that there exists a sanctuary on it and using their resources.

These diverse ideas are great for my RTS game, which should also have factions with interesting lore that play differently from each other and have their own unique mechanics.

There are a few other elements of Endless Space 2 that may prove useful as well. Such as the resource system (having control of certain resources enables you to build things you otherwise would not be able to). Another cool element of this game is the soundtrack, each faction has their own unique theme and this gives the game a very nice touch of polish. It also makes each faction more immersive and unique adding to the user-experience.

Dawn of war 40k (campaign), map capture points, factions

The Warhammer universe has always been one of my favourites. Everything from the lore/factions to the concept art is fantastic. Within this universe there is an RTS series called Warhammer 40k Dawn of War, which had a few expansion packs come out (Dark crusade being my favourite one).

One of the amazing features of this expansion was the campaign. Instead of having some sort of mission list, the player picks a faction and then enters a large turn based map with territories to attack. Depending on which territories the player holds, he/she will attain certain bonuses to his army. The goal is to capture the whole map and defeat the other factions. Attacking a factions home-territory is a unique and difficult battle, similar to a boss battle in other games.

Furthermore, the following video by Stardock Games talks about this style of campaign in RTS games and explains why they're so compelling:

As well as this, I think the way the skirmish games work also provides good reference for my own. Each map is divided into zones and to take over a zone you have to capture a capture point (flag) in the middle. You can then build an outpost there with turrets to further fortify and defend that zone. This mechanic could be one that I may also incorporate into my own game.

The last element of this game that provides important reference are the factions. The Warhammer universe has very interesting and unique factions that many video games and movies take reference from. For example, there is a faction called the Necrons which are ancient machines that can come back to life when killed and their building designs are inspired by ancient Egyptian megalithic structures.

Majesty 2 (Mechanics)

Majesty 2 is another game I would like to use for reference for one very special reason. In this game you don't actually control your units, rather you act as a governor and are only in control of building buildings. "Heroes" then go to these buildings to buy potions (which you get money from) and so on. To then utilise these heroes in order to do something, you set a quest up for them to "slay this monster" or "scout this area of the map". Some heroes who are looking for adventure or riches will accept this quest and then progress through it.

I find this mechanic very unique, and perhaps one of my factions could play this way. It would certainly make my game stand out more from the crowd.

going through it right now. moonmoon image me to myself. ive been feeling very boy lately but in an animal way. like how boy cats are stupid. also in a just some guy way. its better to pretend im a boy so i dont feel female hysteria. i just have to make it through this week then i can do outpatient. bro put me back in the hospital im done with this shit. sorry for venting all the time february is just an evil month. i walked around today looking miserable and i certainly felt it. i ate my terrible chicken and watched rt play project diva with a huge frown. sorry miku. oh a bocaloid song just came on shuffle hi rin. its lost ones weeping so not exactly improving my mood. ooh when im upset i find more things to be upset about. fitting in with the boy talk i dislike people seeing me as a girl sooo much. im not out to anybody at school well i tried they just very quickly forgot the speed was impressive. i also look very cis. sad but i like my hair length although it looks really weird today its too poofy near the top. it should be poodle but its looking bichon frise. on good days its king charles cocker spaniel. nothing happened too much today to make me upset, i just woke up upset. class was fine, but after i got out i got really sad. i sat in the library quiet area and played love live for a bit hopefully my tapping couldnt be heard. then i went and got really shitty food bc there was nothing good at the dining hall. i shouldve just had donuts or smth. then i went back to my dorm and had the window open which was nice since my original outfit today was way too warm. i have a five page essay due tomorrow and have not started it. i am gonna skip choir because i dont want to bring my bad vibes and im lazy. aw man howd i get blood on my pants. i should work on my essay but i feel so bad. might feel better if i have something mindless to work on. ew i have to stare at musks face *barf*

I started making this post to say I wished I could find more info about this engagement, but then I did find it!

Presbyterian Moderator, Right Reverend Dr John Kirkpatrick, his colleagues in the Church Leaders Group (Ireland), along with other church representatives and guests, offered words of encouragement and prayer for His Majesty King Charles III this morning, when the King visited St Patrick’s Church of Ireland Cathedral on the Hill of Armagh.

On the site of St Patrick’s 5th century ‘Great Stone Church’, the King had the opportunity to talk to the Church Leaders and hear something of the work of the Church. The service in Armagh was part of a two day visit to Northern Ireland by the King and Queen, with Her Majesty meeting children in Armagh’s Robinson Library as part of her campaign to encourage reading.

At the same time, in the neighbouring cathedral, there was a period of reflection and intercession during which the Church Leaders – Most Rev John McDowell, Church of Ireland Archbishop of Armagh, the Most Rev Eamon Martin, Roman Catholic Archbishop of Armagh, the Presidents of the Methodist Church in Ireland, Rev Ken Nixon and Irish Council of Churches, Rt Rev Andrew Forster, along with the Moderator - prayed for God’s blessing and guidance for the King.

The Church Leaders’ Group (Ireland), represents all-Ireland denominations with churches across the whole of the island of Ireland. It came into existence in the late 1960s when the Church Leaders recognised the value in working together in light of the urgency of political developments of the time. Since then they have met frequently, often speaking out collectively on certain public issues.

The Dean of Armagh, the Very Rev Shane Forster, welcomed him on his arrival as the Cathedral Choir, sang the words of ‘St Patrick’s Breastplate’. The choir, which was founded by Royal Charter in 1634 by King Charles I, also sang the gentle and calming words of the ‘Irish Blessing’ during the time of prayer, to a setting by Bob Chilcott.

The Hill of Armagh has been a place of Christian worship since the 5th century AD.  It has connections to both St Patrick and to another King as it is the burial place of Brian Boroimhe (Boru), High King of Ireland, who died at the Battle of Clontarf in 1014.

As Prince of Wales, His Majesty was previously the guest of the Cathedral on a visit to Armagh in June 2000 and was hosted by St Patrick’s Roman Catholic Cathedral when he returned to the city in May 2019. The Cathedral was honoured to welcome Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh, when it held the Royal Maundy Service in March 2008.

Archbishop McDowell remarked, ‘The King is no stranger to Northern Ireland, nor indeed to the whole island of Ireland, for which I know he has a particular affection and friendship. I know too that he comes today with words of encouragement to the Church Leaders as we continue to work towards a reconciled future. Our prayers of blessing for The King and Queen today will continue as together they enter ever more fully into their vocation in the years ahead.’

Speaking once again as an insane person, I really appreciate Charles’ emphasis on ecumenical/interfaith dialogue
