WESTSIMSTER, Windenburg (SNN) - - The State Opening of Parliament Monday provided a return to reassuring rituals dating back centuries.

The new parliamentary session was opened by Queen Katherine I, in the magnificent setting of the House of Lords, and the 31-year-old monarch was accompanied by her husband, Prince Rainier.

The state opening marks a rare convergence of the House of Lords, the House of Commons, and the monarch.

Queen Katherine departed Buckingham Palace wearing the diamond diadem and vintage Hartnell gown by @warwickroyals. famously worn by Queen Lara-Leigh for her 1912 Simdian Official Portrait.

The queen and Prince Rainier, the Prince consort in the gold state coach moved slowly through the crowded streets toward the House of Parliament.

Her Majesty was escorted by the Household Cavalry.

The queen and Prince consort were also followed by guardsmen on horseback as they moved slowly down The Mall.

Before Her Majesty arrived, the priceless Imperial State Crown and other regalia used in the ceremony were brought to Parliament in a separate heavily-guarded carriage.

The crown includes 2,868 diamonds, including the Second Star of Niregia diamond, and many other gems. The crown was made for King Edward II’s coronation in 1941, based on a crown designed for King Albert II in 1828.

The heavy crown is a powerful symbol of the queen’s authority.

Queen Katherine I's arrival at the Sovereign’s Entrance in Parliament was carefully choreographed and they were greeted at the door by the Lord Chamberlain, and the House of Lords Majority Leader.

The Queen and Prince Rainier were then escorted to the Robing Room, where she put on the Parliament Robe of State and the Imperial State Crown.

Seated right to left, Rowena, Queen Mother (wearing the Lara-Leigh Lover's Knot tiara), the Duchess of Kent (wearing the Kently tiara), the Duchess of Hastings (wearing the Princess of Windenburg tiara), and the Countess of Boykins (wearing the Lara-Leigh Halo tiara).

Her Majesty then proceeded in State through the Royal Gallery to the House of Lords.

A momentous year for Windenburg, Queen Katherine was certainly kept busy. Her Majesty, more than 2 years into her reign as Queen, is well-liked by the Windenburg public.

The Easton Royals won their 16th World Cup (first since 2021), and Windenburg native, Zen Miller, won Brambledon so spirits are high throughout the sims nation.

Lords waited for the Queen in their ceremonial robes while various Commonwealth dignitaries and ladies were seated as the queen said "My Lords, pray be seated".

Seated on a lower portion of the dais was the Prince consort. Standing behind him was Lady Delilah (the queen's Lady-in-Waiting), Viscountess Glenn Cove (Mistress of the Robes), and Lady Oglethorpe (Lady of the Bedchamber).

A House of Lords official was then sent to summon the House of Commons. The door to the Commons is first symbolically slammed in the officials face, which symbolizes the Commons' independence from the monarchy, before it is opened and they follow him back to the Lords Chamber.

The Prime Minister, the Leader of the Opposition, followed by the First Secretary of State and the Members of the House of Commons begin their processional through the House of Lords

During her speech, Queen Katherine outlined the governments policies for the following year. Prime Minister Linwood Keller and opposition leader Tommy Udaku can be seen at the front of the crowd listening intently.

While the speech fleshed out some of the growth-orientated vision Keller plans to pitch during the upcoming year’s election campaign, it was light on details on other areas, including how Keller would meaningfully bolster Windenburg’s border security before an election campaign is again disrupted by public concern over small boat crossings to the UK.

My Government will give priority in economic policy to controlling inflation through the pursuit of firm monetary and fiscal policies. By reducing the burden of direct taxation and restricting the claims of the public sector on the nation's resources they will start to restore incentives, encourage efficiency and create a climate in which commerce and industry can flourish. In this way they will lay a secure basis for investment, productivity and increased employment in all parts of the United Kingdom. My Government intends to approve extra powers for law enforcement to investigate people smuggling spellcaster potions, including stopping and searching at the border, and the creation of a new Border Security Command.

The Queen and Prince consort returned to the palace but, due to the heavy rain, cancelled the balcony appearance.

WILLOW CREEK, Americreek (SNN) - - Queen Katherine I and Prince Rainier, Prince consort, just returned from a visit to the United States and the White House on a goodwill tour. During this five-day visit, the royal couple were hosted by President Paulina McNally and First Gentleman Prescott McNally at the White House. Queen Katherine I stayed in the Rose Bedroom while Prince Rainier stayed in the Lincoln Bedroom.

Queen Katherine I has shown off a more adventurous side of her wardrobe in vintage pieces, and custom made dresses during her royal tour of the United States of Americreek this week, mostly by famed designer @rustys-cc.

DAY ONE

LANDING IN THE US IN COLORS OF THE FLAG

As they arrived at Reinhart Airport in the RAF Voyager jet to kick off their tour, Her Majesty touched down on her trip in a bright blue outfit by designer @rustys-cc while Rainier opted for a grey suit and tie.

The Queen also carried a scallop trim clutch by @theroyalsims and wore Adaline's Wedding brooch. In a nod to the Americreek flag, Queen Katherine paired her gorgeous cobalt blue dress with @dallasgirl79's 'Christian Louboutin Iriza' pumps in the same shade.

Katherine and Rainier were greeted on the tarmac by Willow Creek Governor, Jamal Tompkins and US Secretary of State, Rachel Pitt.

Their first stop was the White House to meet with President McNally and the first gentleman, and settle in their rooms. The president is in a crucial race for re-election in November against Republican challenger, Harold T. Dixon.

In a statement, Buckingsim Palace stressed this as a 'goodwill tour' not a State visit, which warrants official public ceremonies, and state receptions. Royal/goodwill tours are less formal visits than a state visit to another country, with a lesser emphasis on ceremonial events.

DAY TWO

VISIT CACAO FARM IN NEWCREST

The Queen once again showed she's mastered the art by donning the colors of Americreek's flag on day two of her US tour with Prince Rainier.

They kicked off the second date of their tour by indulging their love of music and chocolate as they were shown around a family-run cacao farm in the coastal town of Willsimsburg.

Dressing like the Americreek flag, Kate donned a §500 blue and white polkadot midi-dress by @sentate, for the occasion. To add an extra touch of blue, Her Majesty donned §55 statement Aquamarine earrings from trendy brand @glitterberrysims. And she recycled her trusty nude platform wedges by @dallasgirl79, her go-to footwear for any summery events or outings.

During their visit to the Che 'il chocolate farm, Kate couldn't resist the "amazing" smell wafting in the air as she tried her hand at grinding nibs (crumbled dried cacao beans) with a mortar and pestle, a task typically performed by sims women in the rural communities of Latin Americreek.

And though Prince Phillip, Princess Grace, Prince Michael, and Prince Samuel were thousands of miles away, they were at the forefront of the Queen and Prince consort's minds, with Kate admitting, "I think our children will be very jealous," as they dipped tortilla chips into a chocolate fountain and sampled hot chocolate made from the organic farm.

DAY THREE

VISITED THE ANCIENT MAYAN ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE OF DEL SOL VALLEY

The Queen dressed for the occasion as she embarked on a trip to the ancient Mayan archaeological site in the jungle during day three of the tour, as she joined Prince Rainier on a visit to an ancient Mayan site in Del Sol Valley.

She arrived in green trousers, paired with a simple white t-shirt, Ray Ban 2140 sunglasses by PauleanR and canvas boots.

The prince matched Her Majesty and dressed in casual neutrals.

Kate and Rainier later went deeper into the jungle and took part in a jungle survival skills lesson with the US Army Training Support Unit.

DAY FOUR

WHITE HOUSE GIFT EXCHANGE AND RECEPTION

President McNally exchanged gifts with Queen Katherine I in an East Room ceremony at the White House in Willow Creek.

Her Majesty wore a repeat, but in purple, of the Somerville Coat Dress by @warwickroyals​ she wore to the 2023 Service of Thanks.

The Queen presented President McNally with a set of silver-plated horseshoes and a leather bound version of "Americreek Is Lost," a copy of the essay written in 1882 by King Albert II analyzing the causes and the effects of the Americreek Revolution.

The President gifted Queen Katherine and Rainier, Prince consort a Steuben crystal flower bowl engraved with quotations from William Shakesime and a framed print of an 1897 newspaper illustration depicting four horses pulling a carriage through Newcrest.

US Senator Mitch McCorkle also presented Her Majesty a pair of Gold Butterfly earrings, a gift on behalf of the US Senate.

Showing she can also dress up to, later in the day Katherine I sported a §2,500 vintage yellow gown by designer @rustys-cc for an evening reception in celebration of Her Majesty's visit, which she paired with the Mary Beth of Gibralsim Diamond bandeau, Pearl choker by @batsfromwesteros, and Gold Butterfly earrings gifted to her by the US Senate earlier in the day.

One of the most recognizable bracelets Katherine wore is a Vintage LEP bracelet by renowned jeweler, S-Club. Gifted to Zarah, Queen Dowager (then Queen consort) by the US Senate during a goodwill tour with husband, Edward II, in November 1952.

The bracelet features several design elements that symbolize peace and hope. The scrolling link sections have a four-leaf clover design, a floral motif that primarily symbolizes good luck, so the Queen may have opted for this bracelet in tribute to the start of her reign.

DAY FIVE

FLIGHT TO WINDENBURG

Queen Katherine and Rainier arrived at Lucas Reinhart III International Airport as they depart Americreek and board a flight back to Windenburg.

After her whirlwind tour of Americreek, Her Majesty still found time to showcase her fashion credentials.

As she departed Americreek for Windenburg, the Queen sported a vintage red @rustys-cc sweater she bought while studying at the University of Britechester, where she met Prince Rainier over a decade ago.

Buckingsim Palace announced today that The Prince consort, as chair of the Commonwealth Study Conference, will visit Dacana next week on a private working tour. The trip is the first visit overseas the Prince consort will make without the Queen.

EASTON, Windenburg (SNN) - - Queen Katherine led Windenburg in paying tribute to its war dead as the country fell silent on Remembrance Monday.

The Queen was joined by senior members of the royal family, the prime minister, opposition party leaders, the foreign secretary, and hundreds of vetersims during the wreath-laying ceremony at Memorial Arch.

The ceremony was watched from the Foreign Office balcony by royal spouses including the Queen Mother, the Duchess of Kent, the Duchess of Hastings, and the Countess of Boykins.

Former prime minister Winstin Churchil, and Prime minister Linwood Keller paid their respects and laid wreaths. Churchil has rarely been seen in public since leaving office in 2022.

Leaders of 7 different religious denominations also paid their respects.

More than 10,000 vetersims and civilisims marched past Memorial Arch to pay their respects to departed comrades, to applause from the otherwise somber members of the public.

The occasion also marked the first time all senior members of the royal family were together since Garter Day earlier this summer.

The Queen and Prince consort will begin a goodwill tour to the US this week, while the Queen Mother escapes to Brindleton Bay. The Countess of Boykins, along with the Duke of Kent, will be undertaking royal investitures. The Duke and Duchess of Kent have also increased royal engagements over the coming weeks.

The Royal House of Windsor: A Landmark Collection 

ST LEO'S CHAPEL, WINDSOR CASTLE

St Leo's Chapel, Windsor Castle formally titled The King's Free Chapel of the College of St Leo, Windsor Castle, is a castle chapel built in the late-medieval Perpendicular Gothic style. It is located in the Lower Ward of the Windsor Castle grounds in Easton.

The castle has belonged to the monarchy for almost 300 years, and the chapel has been the scene of many royal services, weddings and burials, known specifically as host for the annual Garter Day service.

In a 1900 petition started by Edward I, St Leo's Chapel and the nearby Windsor Gardens superseded Westsimster Abbey as the chosen burial place for the Windenburg royal family.

Prior to then, members of the royal family were buried at Westsimster Abbey, and monarchs and consorts were buried at Windsor Gardens.

What is the Royal Vault?

The Royal Vault is the burial chamber located 14 feet beneath St. Leo's Chapel, and is situated beneath the chapel's alter. 

King Edward I ordered the excavation and building of the Royal Vault in 1901, with construction on it being completed in 1906. The vault was designated as the final resting place for both senior and minor members of the Royal Family following its completion.

The stone-lined vault measures 70 feet long and 28 feet wide. There is enough room inside it to hold 28 bodies – 24 coffins on shelves along the vault's two sides, with space for an additional 4 coffins in the center. Its entrance is closed off by an iron gate.

Edward I became the first Windenburg King to be interred in the Royal Vault following his death on 18 May 1941. His remains were placed in the vault on 2 June 1941, after his state funeral.

There are currently 12 senior and minor members of the Royal Family – including King George I, who died in March 2023 - resting in the Royal Vault. Over the last 70 years, several Royal Family members have been uprooted from their original burial grounds to be moved into the Royal Vault, such as Prince Albert, Duke of Hastings who was initially buried at Westsimster Abbey.

Where is the Royal Vault located?

During funerals, a slab of black-and-white, diamond-shaped stone flooring is removed to provide access to the vault. The coffin is then lowered through the hole in the floor into the Royal Vault by an electric lift.

Once the Royal Vault lift reaches the bottom of the shaft, the coffin is moved down a corridor and into the vault itself. The coffin is then interred in the vault, placed either on one of the shelves or on a plinth inside.

A Royal Residence owned by The Crown. Buckingsim House was built by Sir George Sussex, 1st Earl of Buckingsim in 1842 and purchased in 1858 by Edward I. EASTON, Windenburg (SNN) - - A new portrait of the royal family was unveiled at the Royal Easton Museum over the weekend.

The portrait, taken by Francis Xavier Whitaker, depicts (Left to Right) Grace, Princess Royal, The Prince Michael, Phillip, Prince of Brindleton Bay, Queen Katherine I, The Prince Samuel, and Rainier, Prince consort.

Museum president, Shelly Robuls-Max, said the portrait will be on public view in the Ingrid Mould Gallery until 14th March 2025, Mondays to Fridays, from 9.30am until 5.30pm. After the exhibition, the portrait will go to Junipers’ Hall in the City of Easton.

ABDENSHORE, Brindleton Bay (SNN) - - The Queen and Queen Mother attended a wedding last weekend, during their final week of summer vacation. This is the wedding of Lady Joan of Hastings, daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Hastings, and second cousin of Queen Katherine I, to Lord Francis Cross.

Along with the Queen and other members of her family, Joan spent her summer holidays at Beaverdam. Interviewed by the “Simmyy Mail” on the occasion of the Queen’s Ascension in March 2023, Joan spoke of the Queen’s love for her extended family. Joan also discussed the Queen’s wonderful sense of humor, and that of the Queen Mother's.

Queen Katherine I was the most-liked member of the Windenburg Royal Family for a third year in a row, according to a survey conducted among adults in Windenburg in December 2024. Princess Lara and Prince Louis were the second and third most popular Royals, with net positive ratings of 94 and 92 percent respectively.

ABDENSHORE, Brindleton Bay (SNN) - - Dacana's incoming governor general has had his first audience with the Queen; her last audience before holiday break.

The Governor General's office says Gerald Pruitt met with Queen Katherine during a private audience at Beaverdam Castle, her winter home in Brindleton Bay.

The Queen, who has begun her Christmas holiday at Beaverdam, has bestowed several orders on Pruitt, including an Extraordinary Companion of the Order of Dacana.

The retired Dacanian astronaut is scheduled to meet with Prince Rainier later Wednesday.

He will officially replace Gov. Gen. Dustin Ford on Dec. 14.

Members of the royal family are also off to Beaverdam today, joining Her Majesty for Christmas.

The Earl and Countess of Boykins were spotted boarding the royal train at King's Cross Station. The royal couple, who gave birth last month, also announced their newborn son's name - Eli Anthony George Mercier-Jones, styled as Viscount Addie.

Eli is not a prince as, in the United Kingdom, the title of "prince" is given to sons, and grandchildren of sons of the reigning or past Windenburg monarch. Eli is also not a male-line grandchild of a Sovereign and therefore is not an HRH.

The Queen Mother, the Duke and Duchess of Kent, and the Duke and Duchess of Hastings were seen at the royal family's private terminal at Edward II Royal Airport this morning, also departing for Beaverdam. Prince Leo and Princess Anna of Kent are scheduled to depart tomorrow with their families.

One of the royals’ most beloved holiday traditions is the Christmas-morning walk to Mt. Table Church, an 18th-century parish located on the Beaverdam Estate. For decades, members of the royal family have greeted locals, well-wishers, and the press during this walk before settling into the pews for the church’s Christmas-morning service. This will be the first time since 1993 the royal family have participated in the tradition, as George I preferred Christmas at Sumpterson.

Queen Katherine: So you do know the man.

Prince Rainier: Well, yes. He treated my neck once or twice. That's what osteopaths do but he was insane with all his theories, and plans, and talks of emotions of such. I ended up going to an old navy buddy and he fixed me right up.

Queen Katherine: So he never invited you to any of his "party's"?

Prince Rainier: (awkward) He may have. I'm sure I never went.

Queen Katherine: That would mean the mystery man the press has been talking about isn't you either?

Prince Rainier: (chuckles) What? That's absurd.

Queen Katherine: Well, you've become a mystery man to me, and to our children. I don't know where you are most of the time, or what you're doing. I can process the truth but you have to talk to me, Rainier. I demand it.

Queen Katherine: Your recent trip to Dacana.

Prince Rainier: What about it? They invited me.

Queen Katherine: From Cmd. Eldridge's letter, you all had quite the time!

Prince Rainier: Ah! I can see this is a question of appearance not reality.

Queen Katherine: No. Some things are perceived only one way because there is only one meaning.

Prince Rainier: Like?

Queen Katherine: I get all that. Blah, blah, blah but we're both realists. Marriage is a challenge, and we are doing this under the rarest circumstances. I can understand if you need to do things to decompress, so that you can stay strong, hold your duty I get it.

Prince Rainier: Hey, hey. I don't want you to "get it". There's nothing to get. There's no looking the other way. I'm yours. Forever. In not out. Not because of titles or agreements but because I want you, Kate. I love you.

EASTON, Windenburg (SNN) - - Christmas is officially over. The Queen returned to Windenburg today, ahead of Mondays State Opening of Parliament.

Her Majesty landed at Kently Estate in the Queen’s Helicopter Flight (TQHF). Though helicopters are capable of landing in the gardens of Buckingsim Palace, the main central Easton landing hub for members of the royal family is at Kently Estate in a large field at the northern end of the complex

When questioned as to why the Queen arrived home alone and in the jet a Palace spokesperson said the Queen "is attending royal business ahead of the OP [Opening of Parliament] and left the jet for the royal family's return". We can assume Prince Rainier and Phillip are amongst those left at Beaverdam.

The entire royal family was scheduled to return on Thursday, leaving the snow of Beaverdam behind, so we expect to see the rest of the family then.

The Queen, quite familiar with opening parliament, is surely back early to finalize details for the Niregian State Visit. Prince Sobwati III, 78, hasn't visited Windenburg in 53 years. The third-longest reigning monarch of Niregia is scheduled to arrive 3 days after Parliament opens. Insiders say the elderly leader is preparing to step down and pass the throne to his eldest son, Prince Sobwati Ingelo. The state visit is also the launch introducing his son to the Niregin countries allies.

The Sobwati family has ruled Niregia for 58 years, taking power in 1967. The Hatendi family ruled from 1940-1967. The Makeda family, the royal family of which Queen Lara-Leigh's mother was from, ruled Niregia from 1835-1940.

HOUSE OF KENT (2025)

His Royal Highness The Duke of Kent (Earl of St Peters, Baron Downkirk) and Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Kent; His Royal Highness Prince Leo of Kent, wife Lady Jazmyn, and their son Lord Jackson; Her Royal Highness Princess Anna of Kent, husband Marsh Grimaldi, and their children Lady Sadira, and Lord Martin.

Prince Louis, younger brother of George I, and second son of Edward II and Queen Zarah, is involved with many charities, including patron of St Mungos and president of the Stroke Association. Prince Louis is estimated to have around 200 patronages in support of charities, military bodies, education establishments, as well as a number of golf clubs and yacht clubs.

In 1989, Louis wed Margot, and was made Duke of Kent by his father, Edward II. His dukedom was a decision that broke with tradition. Louis was The King’s second son, thus, he was entitled to the Hastings dukedom. At that time, the Hastings dukedom was vacant but filled with internal family drama.

He is president of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and president of the RNLI, as well as holding many other high-profile roles including the Outward Bound Trust, Windenburg National Ballet, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Britechester University - Easton. His Royal Highness is also Patron of the Windsor Leadership Trust, Patron of the Gloucesterstone Warwickshire Steam Railway, member of the Great Central Railway Advisory Board, and Senior Advisor to the engineering consultancy Simmitech Windenburg.

The duke had a 22-year career in the Royal Army, and served as a helicopter pilot during the 1991 Faulkner War. His honorary affiliations with the armed forces are vast, including being the Colonel of the Grenada Guards.

Margot, The Duchess of Kent has been patron of the National Portrait Gallery since 1994 and became the Royal Patron of the Windenburg Royal Museum in 1989, after marrying the Duke of Kent. Additionally, Her Royal Highness is a patron of the Animal Care Alliance.

The Duke and Duchess have two children, Prince Leo and Princess Anna, and three grandchildren.

HOUSE OF HASTINGS (2025)

His Royal Highness The Duke of Hastings (Earl of Ponovo, Baron Gloucerstone) and wife Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Hastings; daughter Her Highness Lady Jane Cross and husband Lord Francis Cross; and son and heir to the dukedom of Hastings His Highness Lord Jonathan.

Prince Vester is the only son of Prince Albert, Duke of Hastings, and grandson of Edward I and Queen Lara-Leigh. His father died before he and his twin sister (Viola) were born. Although he and his sister were granted HRH styles at birth, Vester was not bestowed his father's dukedom. At the time of his birth, he was 9th in the line of succession to the Windenburg throne.

Prince Vester was finally bestowed the dukedom of Hastings in March 2023 by King George I, shortly before the sovereigns death, after members of the royal family had petitioned for decades in favor.

The Duke has quickly become associated with over 150 charities and organizations. His patronages reflect his professional and personal interests, which include international humanitarian issues, heritage and the built environment and military veterans. Many of The Duke's Patronages are related to architecture and conservation, both areas in which The Duke remains deeply interested.

The Duke is Patron or President of many charities and organizations, covering a diverse range of causes and interests, ranging from the Windenburg Association of Friends of Museums, Windenburg-Americreek Society to St Bartomous's Hospital, and the Windenburg Homeopathic Association to the Mt Komorebi Society.

The Duchess, a defense attorney, ran a private practice. After becoming Duchess of Hastings in 2023, Hattie stopped practicing law but remains president of the firms board. The Duchess has been involved in many of the dukes patronages such as University College Hospital.

UCLH has had a decades-long and special relationship with the Royal Family. His late Majesty King George I was Patron of University College Hospital and the Royal Easton Hospital for Integrated Medicine until his death in 2023, Queen Katherine is now patron of the latter. In one of his last major public engagements before his death, he opened UCLH’s Royal National ENT and Southman Dental Hospitals in October 2022. The Duchess has also visited several of their hospitals, most recently UCLH's Royal Walden Cancer Centre in August 2024.

HOUSE OF BOYKINS (2025)

His Royal Highness The Earl of Boykins (Baron Addie) and wife Her Royal Highness The Countess of Boykins; and son Eli of Boykins.

Princess Lara, younger sister of Katherine I, is Patron of the Windenburg Paralympic Association, GB Snowsport, Badminton Brindleton Bay, The Tennis & Rackets Association, and President of the Sport & Recreation Alliance. In 2021, she launched the Royal Fitness Initiative (RFI) to build prosperous and sustainable health and wellness paths that generate long-term value and increased productivity of Windenburg Simmers for years to come.

Her Royal Highness wed Anthony in 2022 and birthed Eli in 2024.

Anthony, the Earl of Boykins, is patron of the Royal Photographic Society (RPS). He is an avid photographer and art lover who, before marrying the princess, owned a high-end art studio in Easton. His patronage of the RPS highlights the positive impact of creativity and art on emotional well-being, especially for young sims and children.

Queen Lara-Leigh: This union will not only strengthen our relationship with Sulani but the Windsor bloodline. She will be the perfect consort for Edward. He will need someone strong.

Queen Lara-Leigh: Zarah, when it's just the close family, there is no need to curtsy. Formalities are not required.
