Inktober, day 2, discovery.
Iconic view of an iconic wreck. In reality the first bigger pieces they stumbled upon while searching for the wreck were boilers spread on the ocean's floor not the bow section itself.

RMS Titanic
The RMS Titanic was a White Star Line ocean liner, which sank after hitting an iceberg on its maiden voyage from Southampton to New York on 15 April 1912. Over 1,500 men, women, and children lost their lives. There were 705 survivors. In 1985, the Titanic wreck was found several miles deep on the Atlantic seafloor by Robert D. Ballard.

RMS Titanic Linoleum Tiles CC
I've always been obsessed with the RMS Titanic and its two sister ships, the Olympic and Britannic. Many people are unaware that the fantastic tiles found throughout the ships were in fact linoleum for reasons relating to practicality. Here are four lino swatches based on original designs found on both the Titanic and Olympic - there are many more swatches that I'd love to add in the future, so please do watch this space!
The swatches include:
First Class Private Baths
First Class Dining Saloon
First Class Smoking Room
Grand Staircase**
Download (SFS No Adfly)
** Grand Staircase tiles are due to be updated as the pattern repeats too often. They do still look great, though.

MALE SURVIVORS OF THE TITANIC DISASTER Women had a much higher chance of survival — regardless of what class they were in — then men did. Of the 466 women on board, 339 survived. Of the 843 men on board, only 161 survived — a measly 19% compared to the 73% of women who made it safely back to shore. The Carpathia arrived at the distress call's position at 4:00 a.m., approximately an hour and a half after the Titanic went down, claiming 1523 lives. For the next four and a half hours, the ship took on the 705 survivors of the disaster from Titanic's lifeboats.

It's been a while since I've done any Titanic-related artwork - but I've got a reason for doing so! xD This year, as always I'm participating in Titanic-Voyage, and I'll be portraying along with one fictional character, two historicals as I've mentioned in a previous post. One of them will be Harry Elkins Widener who was travelling with his parents and tragically, along with his father lost his life along with over 1,500 other souls. Accompanying the Widener's were other families of Philadelphia Society including the passengers depicted in this post; the Thayer and Carter families. There were more than 30 Philadelphians who boarded the ship for the Titanic's maiden crossing. Some of them however would not see land before the voyage's end. This post and the drawings are dedicated to those lost not just from Philadelphia, but also from the entire ship - both passengers and crew. From left-to-right: Mr. John Borland Thayer, II Mrs. John B. Thayer (Mrs. Marian Longstreth Thayer) Mr. John Borland Thayer, III (Jack Thayer) Mr. William Ernest Carter Mrs. William E. Carter (Mrs. Lucile Stewart Carter) Miss. Lucile P. Carter (Miss. Lucile Polk Carter) Mstr. William Thornton Carter, II Mr. George Dunton Widener, Sr. Mrs. George D. Widener (Mrs. Eleanor Elkins Widener) Mr. Harry Elkins Widener ____________________ PLEASE credit my work if you post it else where! These may not look like much, but they took time to sketch and get details right. Thanks so much! ^_^

The Sunken Fallacy (on Wattpad) https://www.wattpad.com/story/341044915-the-sunken-fallacy?utm_source=web&utm_medium=tumblr&utm_content=share_myworks&wp_uname=itisemsie&wp_originator=jD5FkT3aj%2B0bCodroCzr27ot1t8ZneuYmQ5XoQoWyjKvH8Oa1w0aOgP5SLb3OAoyFTOrffBSniqm2gR5QtWe4g38AOJPHUtRVROqB8qPUe8bJ%2BSQkiJl%2B%2B93aaq4Op%2FG It's 2008 and the only thing thing that brings Cynthia Thornton any interest in her life is her fascination with the ill-fated ship: The RMS Titanic, Too bad she has no one besides her family to ever express her interest. Yet one day, after another failed attempt at making friends, Cynthia finds herself 96 years into the past, boarding the ship in the body of her ancestor, a first-class passenger whose reasons for boarding are still a mystery to her. With no way of knowing how she can get back, Cynthia has only two goals in mind: Prevent the sinking, or save as many lives as possible.

This is instantly recognizable as a work nightmare to anyone who's ever worked in software, particularly web interface design, particularly anything governmental. Giveaways include:
Lots of "academic and online discourse", with the subtext that folks are offering strong opinions uncontaminated by actual experience with vaccine clinical trials AI development space-time anomalies triggered by overuse of temporal highways
Bureaucratic football between governments and transnational organizations
Mobile app UI that uses font size, background coloring, and button size to scream at the user "NO REALLY IT WAS A TRICK OF THE LIGHT"
i had a dream that time travel was invented and too many people choose to travel back in time to save the titanic from sinking (the question of whether unsinking of the titanic deserved so much attention in the face of human history was the subject of both heavy academic and online discourse), which caused a rift in the space-time-continuum that led to the titanic showing up indiscriminately all over the world’s oceans and sea in various states of sinking.
this caused a lot of issues both in terms of fixing said space-time-continuum and in terms of nautical navigation, and after a long and heavy battle in the international maritime organization it was decided that the bureaucratic burden of dealing with this was to be upon Ireland, much to their dismay. the Irish Government then released an app for all sailors and seafarers so they could report titanic sightings during their journeys, even though they heavily dissuaded you from reporting them given the paperwork it caused.
anyway i woke up with a clear image of the app in my head and needed to recreate it for all of you:

I don't like the block (Australian renovation show where they just create drama for the sake of it. Give me bake off or masterchef any day!) but see ads for it all the time. One of the judges goes "it's titanic". You're comparing a crap show to a disaster? Where people died and lost their families? GTFO with that shit. 16 or whatever seasons is way too much

The line "Jack saved me in every way that a person can be saved" is spoken by Rose in the 1997 film Titanic. It is spoken to Jack's ghost as she returns to the ocean liner for the first time in over 80 years.

Capricorn moon
Tumblr media
This song strongly resonates with the capricorn moon regardless of the house placement.
But might amplify the resonance with a native having the moon in Capricorn in the 1st house abit more and hit the spot more objectively, making this song the perfect resonator for what actually goes on in their miserable, sad depressed, troubled, numb, and most DAMAGED side of their emotional internal turmoil.
Tumblr media
It's about being so fucking lost. Like, you're drowning in the middle of the ocean, and no matter how hard you try, you just can't reach the surface. It's about feeling like you've got zero control over your own damn life, like you're just a passenger on a ship headed straight for a goddamn iceberg.
It's about all that shit you've been through, all those scars you carry, how they just keep fucking you up, even years later. It's about feeling alone in a crowded room, like you're screaming at the top of your lungs and no one even notices. It's about that deep, dark hole in your chest that tells you you're worthless, that you'll never be good enough.
The song's raw emotionality and vulnerability could be particularly impactful for someone who's usually reserved or stoic. It gives voice to feelings that are often difficult to express. It screams out all those feelings you usually bury deep down.
Sometimes you wonder if you're even meant to be happy. Feels like a deadly silent punishment, a punch to the gut. Maybe you're just supposed to carry this weight forever. Sad but true.

Lyric Analysis: COMING SOON!
Tumblr media
This song isn't just about sadness and despair; it's also about resilience and self-discovery. The narrator acknowledges their mistakes and vulnerabilities, but also expresses a desire to break free from the cycle of self-doubt and isolation. This could offer a sense of hope and empowerment to someone who's struggling with similar issues despite the tragedy that consumed this person whole and left them SEVERLY DAMAGED.
And this song isn't just a collection of words and melodies; it's a raw and honest reflection of the struggles and insecurities that someone with a Capricorn Moon in the 1st House experiences, painting a picture of a life that feels heavy, lonely, and filled with self-doubt.
