Blaine light corruption arc this, emblem heartless lore retcon that, what truly would surprise me is to see humanoid nobodies outside the org and their impact on keyblade society.
You definitely saw your keyblade guardian get done by a heartless but they came back wrong the next month. You grieved them, you learnt to wield their keyblade over your own and now they're back.
Also hilarious scenario of murdering sby in a heartless ambush for power only for them to come back as a nobody possibly stronger.
#kingdom hearts#khml#kh missing link#kh lore#kingdom hearts missing link#kh nobody#Also my brain keeps referring to Remus based on the tv show Nobody's boy remi#the japanese title of the series is just homeless child so the pun wouldn't work and the title of the source book is just No family#and of course now I got the french opening stuck in my head#NOBODY'S BOY REMUS

Question bc i dont have the game yet, is 'Tears' meant to be crying tears or like ripped tears? I remember that being a huge debate when the title was revealed.
tears as in crying tears, and i still think that debate was the stupidest shit zelda fans have ever done because it was so easily cleared up by looking at the japanese title of the game
#katakana does not leave a lot of room for interpretation about pronunciation.#also like. everyone was like ‘maybe it’s a double meaning’ why the hell would japanese devs make their title a pun in english.#like that’s an easy way to alienate a good half of your intended player base right off the bat#anyways. whatever#asks

did something cursed (japanese names except mandarin pronunciation)
#mob psycho 100#demon slayer#tengen’s name is actually very close in pronunciation in both languages#ritsu’s name means law#serizawa means parsley swamp or something of the like#tanjirou has ‘charcoal’ in his name as a descendant of generations of charcoal burners#nezuko’s name just means beans#kageyama brothers are the shadow mountain brothers#teruki’s name is damn fitting for him#rengoku has such a based name it’s pretty as fuck#agatsuma is ‘my wife’ which is one of the indirect reasons i’m a zenitsu hater#Shou means general#reigen’s name is equally as outlandish and an accidental mandarin pun#新隆 sounds like 兴隆 which means booming business and reigen’s business is anything but booming#reigen means spirit hallucinations#all these are definitions taken from mandarin and don’t necessarily apply to Japanese definitions of the characters in their names#rengoku’s surname still means purgatory though#tengen’s name isn’t bad

Munakata actually celebrating Reisaru Day because 04 and 24 and he has to point this out to his beloved Fushimi-kun.
Does this make Munakata a self shipper XD Imagine poor Fushimi gets a text from Munakata one day asking to meet in Munakata’s room and when he gets there Munajata has cooked a romantic dinner and has balloons and flowers all set up. Fushimi is immediately suspicious because he knows it isn’t their anniversary and he’s well aware that Munakata knows that too, like if it was anyone else Fushimi would assume they forgot but there’s no way Munakata would ever forget anything. Munakata is looking very pleased with himself too as he says today is a special day and he wanted to celebrate. Fushimi starts listing off all the things today isn’t: it’s not our one year anniversary or month or week, it isn’t an anniversary of when we kissed, it’s not the anniversary of when I joined S4 it isn’t anyone’s birthday. Munakata listens to him and then nods and explains that today, April 24 is their day.
Fushimi gives him a flat look as Munakata explains that Rei-shi = 0-4 and Fu-shi would be 2-4, therefore 04-24 is their day. Fushimi lets that sink in and then imagine him just not being able to stop himself from laughing all are you an idiot. Munakata smiles and says perhaps he is, Fushimi just shakes his head still laughing as he says that’s the most ridiculous thing he’s heard. Munakata says it’s nice to have special day when you don’t expect it though isn’t it, even outside of an anniversary this can be a day to celebrate their relationship. Fushimi maintains that it’s stupid but if Munakata insists so much they can celebrate, wondering if Munakata has a whole evening planned. Munakata smiles brilliantly as he says of course (and then the next year Munakata is quite pleased when Fushimi just casually drops a present off on his desk the next April 24th).
#Reisaru#Talking K#I miss Reisaru Day no one really celebrates it anymore :/#also it took me way too long to figure out why it was that day#rei-shi and fu-shi I get it now#ah Japanese puns based on character names

3 more 2hus: Yurai Sayuri, Takumizu Tsuyoshi , and Seisara Yuki (who i just. drew in a completely different artstyle for god knows why-)
and yes, there is actually a yokai that's a watermelon samurai. it's so funny that that exists, i had to make a touhou oc based off of it cjhvbc-
#yurai (oc)#takumizu (oc)#seisara (oc)#name notes: 'yurai' is a pun on 'yurei' the japanese word for ghost#this is bc the yokai she's based on looks like but isnt a ghost#also: seisara's last name (yuki) is NOT yuki as in winter. it's yu (meaning excellence/superiority/gentleness) combined with ki (meaning#hope). this really would only be apparent if i spelt out the kanji but like. i think too much about this stuff so i wanted to mention it#anyways xjvbhxjcv-#ok uhhh expect a few more maybe :]#shook doodles

I find it hilarious that we have a character that has a spanish name that means “female dragon”, has dragon’s head and claws tattoos on their body and their sigil is literally a dragon-shaped D.
And yet some fans actually went “Hah! Araki made a pun! DRAGona! Lolz!”.
...Did I say “hilarious”? I meant extremely annoying.
Anyway, Dragona is worthy being a Joestar and Araki better do justice to them in the future.
#I mean Araki IS keen on puns but usually they are 1) japanese based puns#and 2) a bit more deep than calling literally someone drag queen or the like#jojolands#jojolands spoilers#jjba

fun trivia time about neru and haku’s origins:
neru came from a time when a strange incident occurred and miku’s presence was essentially nearly scraped off the internet following a tv feature deriding miku’s existence. this caused people to get super upset (think the 2007 equivalent of something trending on twitter), assuming that the japanese music industry was intentionally trying to suppress miku (they were not). people who said that wasn’t true were associated with the phrase 飽きた、寝る。(akita, neru/‘i’m done, i’m going to bed’), which was memed a lot. the phrase eventually became a character (亜北ネル as opposed to the original reading) used to represent those people who said the rumour wasn’t true (at their expense)
haku’s origin is significantly less touchy. she was made to represent the mikus who worked with producers who couldn’t take criticism, always complained that their work never took off or didn’t know how to use vocaloid and were surprised that it did not sound Great. the name yowane haku (弱音ハク) is based off the phrase 弱音を吐く (yowane o haku/‘to complain’). on that note, honne dell is a ‘version’, so to speak, of haku that is a derivative of len instead of miku. his name (本音デル) is based off a pun much like haku’s name (本音が出る [honne ga deru/‘one’s true feelings came out’]
#hatsune miku#vocaloid#piapro studio#doodle#akita neru#yowane haku#the lore of vocaloid fandom-related things from late 2000s to early 2010s…can be quite cursed honestly#especially teto’s friend group. iykyk

13 spoiler-free reasons why you should read Mairimashita! Iruma-kun
...if you haven't done so already 👀 (With "spoiler-free" I mean I'm not describing plot points or characters, but under the cut I'll discuss the overarching themes, so be warned if that's too much for you. The first 7 reasons may be enough lol)
It's both funny AND wholesome. I literally can't read it without laughing out loud, and there are a bunch of chapters that make me cry every time I read them.
It's clever! The Japanese version contains several puns based on the kanji "魔" (read "ma", = devil, demon), starting from the title, but it's a recurring pun. The English translation adapts them pretty well. Plus, there are some of the best plot twists in recorded history (IMO). And the names and characteristics of most characters are based on real-life demonology.
It's queer AF. Like, really gay. There are explicitly homoromantic relationships and several nonbinary and gender non-conforming characters. One of these is the best unashamedly nonbinary character ever written. Plus, the manga premise can be seen as an allegory of hiding in the closet. The only thing that made me uncomfortable because of cisnormativity (boys in drag as a joke) is completely fixed in later chapters, and very well so.
It's feminist, without being preachy or paternalistic. Simply put, the women/girls are three-dimensional, complex characters, as the norm should be. And there are lots of them, without it being a harem (...the harem trope is actually used as a joke).
It's spooky and adorable, imagine Halloween vibes all year round. Both main and background characters are super diverse, and if you like monsters there is stuff for you.
Most characters are neurodivergent-coded. It's basically the autistic/ADHD manga.
The art is phenomenal. It's especially good to see the improvement of the art style over the years (the first chapter was published in 2017 and the manga is ongoing). Some panels are really breathtaking.
8. The story is about personal growth - like most shounen manga, fair enough. But the protagonist, Iruma, is so far from toxic masculinity I dare say he's the antidote to it.
9. It's also about found family, the discovery of unconditional love, and trust, and healing from familial trauma.
10. It's about finding a group of friends you belong to, and transforming your weirdness into a strength, identifying and cultivating what you're good at instead of fitting into a mold.
11. It's about the beauty of learning in your own way, and the importance of education and the shaping of future generations.
12. And the reason why I opened this blog: it's about fascism and fighting against it. I mean real fascism, as in "a powerful individual/group wants society to be hierarchical and oppress certain minorities, elevating a specific subset of the population based on intrinsic characteristics which are being misleadingly treated as merits". Ethno-nationalistic stuff. More specifically, it's about being a somewhat politically illiterate person, who learns about systems of oppression beyond personal injustices. It's about questioning what is the best way to arrange society.
13. Most importantly, this manga gives you hope about the future, something I find harder and harder to have. Hopelessness is dangerous - as people without hope stop fighting. This manga makes me actively feel better. Since it's ongoing I can't ensure it will always remain that way, but I've come to trust the author enough that I expect it to.
#osamu nish my beloved#this manga was seriously life-changing for me#i can't overstate this#partially writing this post as a reference for myself#because i recommend m!ik to most people i know#so i have all the reasons in one place lmao#feel free to use this the same way#mairimashita! iruma kun#m!ik#welcome to demon school iruma kun#wtdsik#iruma kun#mairuma

On Angeal’s Wings
I just want to put forward some information I’ve come across in the Crisis Core Complete Guide because the developers have provided us with some details that go a long way towards helping us understanding his character.
Angeal receiving white wings was intended to be an indicator of his moral alignment. In Crisis Core, he is positioned as antithetical to Sephiroth because he resisted the malignant influence of Jenova and did not wish to be a force of destruction or suffering as Sephiroth did. The implication here is that Angeal and Sephiroth both had a choice.
“Nomura wanted the three SOLDIER 1sts to have different varieties of wings. He says that Angeal's wings are white to symbolize that he didn't go in a negative direction, and that Sephiroth could have been like Angeal.” (Crisis Core Ultimania, 2007)
This is further supported by the Crisis Core Complete Guide, which has this to say about wing colour:
“The wing which Genesis has on his left shoulder in this game, and which Sephiroth has on his right shoulder in FFVII and AC…According to the development staff, the wings were made black based on the notion of good and evil.”
Angeal and Sephiroth receiving their wing on the same side shows that they are directly opposite. Genesis was fundamentally different from them both, and thus received his wing on a different shoulder, but his purpose before his final battle with Zack was world destruction, and so his wing colour was black. The white wing was unique to Angeal, and the series continues to use white feather symbolism to represent him. More on that under the cut.
“Angeal teaches the principles of humanity with his words, actions, and his whole self. His honest way of life is something indispensable Zack cannot forget.” (Crisis Core Ultimania, 2007)
“Even though he succeeded Angeal’s will, Zack finds himself not only unable to help anyone but also confined in Nibelheim, and is racked by a sense of despair and powerlessness. Angeal gets him back on track, and Zack decides to rise up from it again. This decision is represented by the mental image at the start of chapter 9.
The white feature, as well as being a symbol for Angeal, is also a symbol for ‘wings’. The “wings” which cross the ‘blue sky’ is Angeal, and it also includes the hint that in order to reach those heights, dreams, he needs to overcome many difficulties.”
Given the prior information, this scene in Rebirth is of particular interest.
“Asked if there's any meaning behind the single white feather that flutters by Cloud and Zack in the opening of FFVII Rebirth, Nomura jokes that it might be hinting at something, punning on the Japanese word "anji" (暗示) and the first half of either Angeal or "angel." (FF7 Rebirth Ultimania, 2024)
This makes sense, especially considering the ending scene of Crisis Core:
I get the impression that no matter what world/timeline/Lifestream fragment Zack is in, Angeal is there to watch over him, as his will had always been to help him (as well as Genesis).
“He has said, "If you are to live as a hero, as a SOLDIER, and as a decent person, you must never forget your honor." Those words made a deep impression on his younger colleagues, especially Zack, and lived on in them.” (Crisis Core Ultimania, 2007)
Angeal is portrayed as a lasting positive influence in the world of FF7. His legacy is carried on first through Zack, and then Cloud. They are all dedicated to Angeal’s cause:
There were definitely issues with how he was presented in Crisis Core, but I think they’re trying to rectify past mistakes regarding Angeal in The First Soldier. Maybe give them a chance to do so? PSP was a highly restrictive format to try and tell a fully fleshed out story, after all.

Tsukasa and Rui are known collectively amongst their classmates as "Oddball 1-2 Finish" (in the JP, KR, and TW servers. The English localisation calls them "Weirdo Wombo Combo"). Due to this, they are frequently asociated with the numbers 1, 2 and any combination or variation of the two (12, 21, etc), both individually and as a duo.
In terms of cover songs, there's Telecaster B-Boy, where they sing the counting part at the beginning. Tsukasa says the number 1, and Rui says the number 2. Tsukasa is Oddball 1, and Rui is Oddball 2.
There's also a lyric in Oki ni Mesu mama sung by Tsukasa, that goes "Waiting for the "1, 2..." signal, holding hands with you is an act of courage for me". Whilst the lyric itself is entirely coincidental, having Tsukasa sing it was very likely intentional. The cover supposedly represents the growth in trust between Tsukasa and Rui, so with that context in mind, one could view the lyric as a reference to Tsukasa reaching out his hand to Rui at the end of the main story, a significant step in the development of their mutual trust.
There's also a few instances of staff releasing content for them on the 21st of a month. Examples include the Fixer 2DMV, which released on September 21st 2023, and their 2022 Summer Memorial illustration releasing on the 21st of August that year. This was also the 12th illustration in that series.
Coincidentally (or maybe not), A Story Where You Are the Star released on the 22nd of November 2023, or 11/22, and featured them both as 4* cards on the accompanying gacha. The event was announced the day prior, on the 21st again.
Rui's 3rd Anniversary Countdown illustration depicted their pillow fight from A Once-In-A-Lifetime Pandemonium!?, an event focused on their relationship, and was released 12 days before the anniversary.
The OST that plays during their Romeo and Juliet rehearsal in KAMIKOU FESTIVAL!, Ma・Ai no Theme ~True Love Song~, was later reused in A Song of Vows for You, Dressed in Pure White and released on the 2nd OST Album alongside the other music from that event. However, instead of being listed with the other tracks from that event on the album, it's listed as track 12.
Them being in class 3-C is a pun based on their status as Oddball 1-2. C is pronounced as "shi" in Japanese, which is the same as how the Japanese word for four is pronounced. Tsukasa and Rui being in class 3-C makes 1 2 3 4. Additionally, 1+2=3, and if you apply A=1, B-2, so on, then this also applies to A (Tsukasa's original class) + B (Rui's original class) =C.
There's also various smaller references, such as the full combo for KING on expert being 1002, Tsukasa growing 1cm and Rui growing 2cm at the 3rd anniversary, as well as Tsukasa telling Rui in the main story that he'll put 12000% into any role Rui gives him. The 12000% quote was also referenced in the 2DMV for their Dappou Rock cover.
#i'm playing colopale at their own game if they're gonna keep up the 1-2 references then i'll 1-up them#(i'm running this joke into the ground on my first go so i never have to make it again)#project sekai#tsukasa tenma#rui kamishiro

Magia Exedra Livestream Summary!
I started watching it halfway, and my Japanese isn't perfect, so feel free to correct me if you see any missing or wrong info.
From what I understand, Magia Exedra will be similar to HSR. Open-world game with turn-based combat and 3D designs! It will be available on Steam, PC, Playstore, etc and there will be a global server too!!!
These are the 3D models of Madoka and Iroha. They look amazing!
We will be able to use up to 5 characters per team, and instead of Memorias, we will get Portraits to use on our characters.
There are gates and stars too. We will probably pass from the gates to fight witches, and collect the stars to get our beloved megucas!
Last but not least, a bit info about the story:
The shadow is called Namae (Name). She lost all of her memories and sense of self, she has no idea why she turned out like this.
The matcha kyubey is called AQ. During the livestream, they kept saying it is different than the Kyubey we know. I think I understand why:
AQ is pronounced Eikyuu. It is possibly a pun for EQ (Emotional Intelligence). If that's the case, then this one is capable of feeling emotions.
I am so excited for this new game, and I suggest everyone to collect side story megucas (Tart, Oriko, Kazumi, etc) because we saw them on PV and we might be able to transfer their data from Magia Record if they allow us to use our characters!

Hey Rassicas, what do you think America is like in the world of splatoon? Like how do you think the land mass is split by countries and what parts of the land is/isn’t underwater?
Well there's the best answer we have to what is and isn't underwater. I don't have much in the way of headcanons for how society would look like there or what the political borders are since we know Nothing, and anything anyone could say would be baseless. There has been very few implied mentions of north america though...
In the art of splatoon 2, in the concept art for bisk, there are mentions of california...well actually this is a bit of a mistranslation
The location mentioned is "Kanifornia". kani=crab. Crabifornia? lol There's also a pun in here lost about him going to the club because he's a crab. japanese transliteration of the english words "crab" and "club" are both クラブkurabu. This is just concept art, but i headcanon Kanifornia is a real place that's in about the same spot as real world california, and a lot of the people there are crabs lol
on page 215 of Haikara Walker, there is also this...
"These cartridges are ones that have been released in a region different from Inkadia. Although the shape of the cartridges are different, it seems that the contents itself are not. The difference in culture can really be felt in the place where the label features the pixel art"
these boxes are a clear reference to the style of boxes of the US releases of NES and SNES....it could also be PAL in there too. some europe releases use something closer to US box art, but from the snes cartridge shape, definitely based on US at least. Anyway I want to believe that the region shown is truly in the splatoon world's north america and not just another part of japan like the splatlands are. And just like in real life US and JP, there's some different cultural sensibilities between inkadia and the region of splatoon world's north america.
#asks#splatoon#splatoon world#splatoon lore#splatoon headcanon#i didnt use a screenshot of the haikara walker english translation because i just noticed the first line in there is mistranslated...#will need to get that fixed

Did you know? May 9 is considered “Makeup Day” in Japan. This is because Japan has various pseudo-holidays based on date puns. In this case. “May 9” is said like “Mei-ku”, where “ku” is 9. “Mei-ku” also sounds like how you’d say “makeup” with Japanese phonetics. Hence, May 9 is “Makeup Day”!
In honor of that, I feel compelled to inform you that Vil ranked #1 in a poll asking “which characters do you think look good in makeup?” The responses were collected from numan (a digital magazine primarily reporting otaku girl media) readers.
He’s out here destroying gender norms as per usual 💅
