Don't you think that Punjabi people are kind of self obsessed like everything all the time is about Punjab and we will talk to people we know are not Punjabi in a language we think they understand Punjabis just keep talking in Punjabi whether the other person understands or not idk just my personal experience
Honestly, I feel its the case with a lot of people, not just punjabis. True, when it comes to the annoying kind who think you are supposed to understand what they are talking about like its the cardinal rule of universe, people who tend to live closer to Punjabis tend to think its them. As I have mentioned before, there’s lots of punjabis around here, and I’ve met my fair share of annoying kind. But at the same time I’ve met enough of those (including my Sikh bro) who are annoyed by such lot themselves. And like I said before, the condescending bunch exists in a lot of groups and not just Punjabis. Marathis, Tamilians, Delhiites, North easterners, even Himachalis who have to be the most humble of all Indians I’ve seen.
Its not about state or caste by the end of the day, It’s about drive it’s about power being an annoying fuck, and that happens to be the one thing all of us Indians share throughout :P

okay now please doodle Charles and Edwin’s wedding. Also love your art it’s so cute and loveable in a way
Tumblr media
Sherwani for Charles and morning dress for Edwin, yay
ko-fi
And you get a little headcanon/concept
At some point during their friendship, way before Port Townsend, Charles mentioned the tradition of wearing gold at weddings. He did so in a sad sort of way, as he had seen the pictures from his parents wedding, and knew her mum had not been allowed to wear a lehenga nor many gold accessories.
Maybe, as these things are meant to bring happiness to the couple, he mentions that as a child he believed his parents marriage would have been happier if she wore those things.
Edwin starts to collect gold items. He doesn't analyze the reason, but if a case offers gold as payment? Edwin is taking it. Charles thinks nothing of it, it's just one of Edwin's quirks.
After his revelations in Port Townsend, Edwin will eventually realize a few things regarding his gold rush.
And they will have a lot of gold jewlery for their wedding day!

Note
it is truly criminal that more spider-man actors and voice actors don't put on the heaviest new york accent of all time
Okay but I do really appreciate when actors/ VAs purposefully thicken the accent when Peter is wearing the mask
Peter Parker, Regular Human Boy, is careful to be more soft-spoken and normal-sounding. But Spider-Man? He leans so heavily into the New York accent that Reddit has started to speculate that he's actually foreign and trying to disguise that

[Video ID: A goal scored by Arshdeep Bains of the Vancouver Canucks against the Pittsburgh Penguins. It is his first career NHL goal.
Possession of the puck starts in VAN's zone. Bains, VAN13, touches the puck lightly, passing it to VAN91, Daniel Sprong. They embark on a breakaway towards the PIT zone. PIT65, Erik Karlsson, attempts a stick check to take away the puck from VAN91 but is unsuccessful. PIT24, Matt Grzelcyk, tries to cover the VAN91-VAN13 passing lane. VAN91 gains entry to the PIT zone. PIT24 attempts to sweep the puck away from VAN91, but VAN91 evades the maneuver as he shoots on PIT39, Alex Nedeljkovic, the goalie. PIT39 stops the puck with his pad, but the rebound goes towards VAN13, who scores. The camera zooms in on a defeated PIT39, then transitions to the celebration of the goal, where VAN24, Pius Suter, hugs VAN13 with his right arm, then pulls VAN91 into the hug with his left arm. Don't You (Forget About Me), the VAN goal song, plays in the background over the following events. VAN73, Vinny Desharnais, skates up to the hug behind VAN91 and joins, patting VAN13's head. VAN26, Erik Brannstrom, skates in at the back of the camera angle and joins as well. The five separate to skate through the fist-bump line; the camera focuses on VAN13, who smiles as he exits the line before going to rub the helmet of VAN91.
The goal sequence repeats. In this view, centering VAN13, we see PIT13, Kevin Hayes, behind VAN13 as the breakaway begins. PIT13 is slightly faster than VAN13, but does not win the speed race; as VAN91 shoots, PIT13 slows to cede his man to PIT24, not seeing that PIT24 is already focused on VAN91. VAN13 picks up the rebound from VAN91 and, barrelling into the crease, tucks the puck into the net behind PIT39. VAN13 points to VAN91 after the goal is scored in recognition of his effort, then celebrates the goal individually, taking out his mouthguard.
The goal sequence repeats once again from the behind-net viewpoint of VAN, transitioning into the behind-net viewpoint of PIT. Here, we see VAN26 and PIT8, Michael Bunting, engaged in a board battle for the puck. The puck squirts out to VAN13 through the skates of VAN24 and the rush is on the way. The camera focuses now on VAN91's efforts during the breakaway, showing the failed stick lift from PIT65, the shot on goal, and VAN13's rebound chance which he buries.
Notably, the commentators for this broadcast (Mantar Bhandal and Harp Pandher) are speaking in Punjabi. Arshdeep Bains is also Punjabi. The gravity of a Punjabi player scoring his first career NHL goal on the Hockey Night in Canada: Punjabi broadcast is not lost on the commentators, who are delighted about this fact. Their enthusiasm is contagious even for listeners who do not speak Punjabi. End ID.]
If anyone who speaks Punjabi can provide us a translation of what's being said, that would be awesome!!!
