It is better to live for love, than to die for pride
There is a saying that goes “it’s better to rule in hell, than to serve in Heaven.” I don’t think people really understand what hell is like if that’s something someone would proudly say. Hubris is a crazy thing and I’ve taken a few lumps because of it over the years. There is no ruler in hell, it was created for Satan and his angels for eternal punishment, The lake of fire is not a place you’d…

All things are full of toil; none can express it. The eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.
Ecclesiastes 1:8
Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied.
Proverbs 27:20
For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.
1 John 2:16
Let him not trust in emptiness, deceiving himself, for emptiness will be his payment. It will be paid in full before his time, and his branch will not be green.
Job 15:31-32
Therefore, Ezra, empty things are for the empty and full things for the full.
2 Ezdras 7:25
Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.
1 Timothy 6:18-19
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8
Notes
Worldly things will only give temporary satisfaction, then boredom and unfulfilment inevitably creeps in, so one has to search for new exciting things and novelties. It is an endless cycle. The pursuit of personal pleasure/money/status, which is what the Bible refers to as 'selfish ambition', can only provide temporary excitement that will fade. Lasting meaning, therefore, can only be found in good deeds, selfless love, and humility before God.

Abortion is Murder & Unbiblical
The Bible does not use the word abortion. How could it? The term itself as a procedure wasn't invented yet! However, the Bible does cover:
Humanity's inherent value and rights as (uniquely among creation) made in the image of God
Murder
Child/infant murder as something abhorrent to God
Life's beginnings, indirectly (although that also has biological support)
Legal ramifications of killing a child in the womb
How God sees and interacts with children in the womb
How we as His followers are meant to treat children
What He expects us to do for the defenseless and vulnerable (i.e., the most defenseless and vulnerable human imaginable is the one in the womb)
And how the question of following Him and His Word is what makes or breaks the difference between a Christian and someone who claims the name but is tragically unsaved Below are some verses and some additional explication (partial credit: @glowsticks-and-jesus)
Proverbs 31:8
Luke 1:44
2nd Kings 17:17
Jeremiah 19:5
Genesis 9:6
Exodus 21:22-25
Matthew 7:20 - 23
John 15:14
1st John 1:5-10, 2:3-6
Exodus 20:13
Mark 10:13-15 Leviticus 20:3-5 (https://biblehub.com/hebrew/mizzaro_2233.htm)
Matthew 18:10, 14
Psalm 22:10
Jacob & Esau, John the Baptist, Samson, etc.
Judges 16:17 Glowsticks-and-Jesus Collection:
"Now the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 'Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, and before you were born, I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.'"Jeremiah 1:4-5
"The Lord called me from the womb, from the body of my mother he named my name."Isaiah 49:1
John the Baptist leaped in Elizabeth’s womb when Mary greeted her cousin (Luke 1:39-45), an example that babies in utero are responsive human beings already aware of the outside world.
The righteous Hebrew midwives at the time of Moses pleased God by saving babies deemed unworthy of life by the authorities of their day (Ex. 1:15-21).
As an additional note -- these references are included above, but worth a second mention -- it's plain that child sacrifice - child murder - is something that God abhors and explicitly does not command. I'd look here (https://biblehub.com/jeremiah/19-5.htm) and here (https://biblehub.com/2_kings/17-17.htm) and check out the cross-references as well. Likewise, there is direct support for laws against murder and the protection of the unborn (up to capital punishment) in the Bible (Genesis 9:6; Exodus 21:22-25 -- an additional reference here included about the common misunderstanding of the latter verses: https://www.str.org/w/what-exodus-21-22-says-about-abortion).
In summary -- it's possible (although, I believe, it does deprive its proponents of a foundational basis for the value of life) to be both secular and anti-abortion. But it is not possible for a Christian who truly understands their faith, their God, and His Word to be pro-abortion.

Proverbs 6:16-19 NKJV 16 These six things the Lord hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: 17 A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, 18 A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, 19 A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren.

Meaning: You don’t jump straight into a situation without thinking about it first.
2) Knowledge is like a garden: If it is not cultivated, it cannot be harvested.

do you think if Jesus saw the jokes we make about him or the bible (like people impersonating Jesus and act silly. you know those vids), he would go "haha, that's very funny"? Do you think God has a sense of humour and would get a chuckle over them?
♡ WC. 613
Jesus Has a Sense of Humor, Bro—Here's Proof
You ever read the Bible and go, “Wait… that’s actually hilarious”? Because same. People act like Jesus is this super serious, always-frowning figure, but if you actually read what He said and did, you'd realize He’s got jokes. Not disrespectful ones—just the kind of humor that makes you go, oh snap, He really said that.
1. The Fig Tree Incident (Mark 11:12-14, 20-21)
Jesus walks up to a fig tree, expecting fruit. The tree has none. Instead of shrugging it off like a normal person, He straight-up curses the tree and it withers overnight. Like, imagine pulling up to a McDonald's, they say the ice cream machine is broken, and you just—boom, McDonald’s is no more.
Lesson learned? Don’t be fruitless around Jesus.
2. The Woman at the Well (John 4:16-18)
Jesus meets a Samaritan woman and, out of nowhere, says: “Go, call your husband.” She’s like, Uh… I don’t have one. And Jesus just casually responds, “You’re right, because you’ve had five husbands, and the guy you’re with now? Not even your husband.”
HELLO?? He just called her out with divine-level accuracy but in the most nonchalant way possible. No “judgment,” no yelling, just pure I-know-everything-about-you energy. That’s like someone saying, “I don’t even have a Netflix account,” and Jesus replying, “Yeah, because you’re using your ex’s login.”
3. The Speck vs. the Plank (Matthew 7:3-5)
Jesus: “Why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye but don’t notice the plank in your own eye?” Translation: “You’re out here calling people out for their problems when you got an entire wooden beam lodged in your face.”
That’s not just a metaphor—that’s satirical. Imagine someone with a giant log sticking out of their eye going, “Hey man, you got something in your eye.” Jesus INVENTED roast comedy.
4. Camel Through the Eye of a Needle (Matthew 19:24)
Jesus: “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” You ever see a camel? They’re huge. You ever see the eye of a needle? It’s tiny.
That’s an impossible, over-the-top visual. It’s like saying, “You have a better chance of squeezing an elephant into skinny jeans than getting in like this.” He meant it, but He also said it in a way that would make people remember—and probably laugh.
5. The Disciples' Constant Cluelessness (Too Many Verses to Count)
Jesus, explaining things clearly: “Beware the yeast of the Pharisees.” Disciples: “Oh no, we forgot to bring bread.” Jesus: “…Bro, I just fed 5,000 people with like five loaves, and you think I’m worried about bread??” (Matthew 16:6-11, paraphrased)
Disciples were basically the kids who don’t get the joke and Jesus had to be like, Guys. Come on. Think.
So, Would Jesus Laugh at Our Jokes?
Honestly? If it’s not mocking, if it’s just lighthearted fun, I think He’d absolutely laugh. God literally created humor—there are verses that encourage joy and laughter:
Proverbs 17:22 – A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. (See? God wants you to laugh.)
Ecclesiastes 3:4 – A time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance. (Laughter is literally ordained.)
Psalm 126:2 – Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy.
So next time you see a Jesus meme or a silly impersonation that’s made in good fun, just remember—the Bible itself proves that Jesus had a sense of humor.
And honestly? Some of y’all would get roasted harder by Him than by your best friend.

There is a test for ことわざ called the ことわざ能力検定 (ことわざのうりょくけんてい) and these are some of the phrases that appear in level 8 or 8級 (10 being the lowest level). For the time being, try one or two of these out the next time you speak with a native Japanese speaker!

1st John 1:9: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Psalms 32:5: I acknowledge my sin to you, and I did not cover my iniquity; I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the Lord, and you forgave the iniquity of my sin."

He again will have compassion on us. He will tread our iniquity under foot. You will cast our sins into the depths of the sea you will show faithfulness to Jacob and steadfast love to Abraham as you have sworn to our fathers from the days of old.
Hebrews 10:22: Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
1st John 1:10: If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar and his word is not un us.
1st John 5:10: Whoever believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself whoever does not believe God has made him a liar because he has not believed in the testimony that God has borne concerning his son.
John 5:38: And you do not have his word abiding in you for you do not believe the one whom he has sent.
1st John 2:14: I write to you, fathers because you know him is from the beginnings. I write to you, young men because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you and you have overcome the evil one.

Why Free Will Doesn't Mean What You Think It Does
Many people believe that free will gives us unlimited freedom, but Scripture suggests otherwise: we’re given the freedom to choose between two distinct paths, not infinite options.

Free will, from a biblical standpoint, means choosing between God’s way and the enemy’s way—life or death (Deuteronomy 30:19), blessings or curses (Deuteronomy 11:26), commitment or lukewarm faith (Revelation 3:16). In God’s eyes, there’s no grey area, only two clear directions.
God calls us to live on purpose. Purpose isn’t just about existing; it’s about living with intention and direction according to God’s will.
“We are born looking like our parents, but we die looking like our decisions.”- Pastor Joshua McCauley
Each decision shapes our lives, and with the freedom God gives us, we decide if we follow His path or attempt to make our own way.
Purpose is the reason we exist , we all strive to figure out what our purpose is on this earth and how to fulfill it. all of this must mean something right? I was brought here for something right?
"So, what is my purpose?"
Well, it's not something we create on our own. A purposeful life is a gift from Jesus, one we can’t achieve just through behavior or goals. It’s a life given, not earned. Through Jesus, we receive grace, freeing us from sin’s power and aligning us with God’s purpose.
Proverbs 29:18 tells us, “Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; But happy is he who keeps the law” (NKJV).
In Hebrew, ḥāzôn or “revelation” here means prophetic vision or God’s guidance. Without it, life becomes chaotic, like a river spilling beyond its banks. True happiness (ashrei in Hebrew) is rooted in following God’s direction, bringing peace and purpose that go beyond surface-level happiness. Keeping (shamar in Hebrew) His law is about actively choosing and protecting our relationship with God’s Word. This dedication to God’s guidance brings a stability and joy that temporary pleasures can’t match.
“So Why Doesn’t God Stop Me from Messing Up?”
A common question: “If free will isn’t total freedom, why doesn’t God stop me from making bad choices?” God, like a loving parent, warns us but lets us experience the outcomes of our decisions. Think of it like a parent warning a child not to touch a hot stove; if the child ignores the warning, they’ll get burned. It’s a lesson in trust and obedience.
Psalm 81:11-12 explains it: “But My people would not listen to Me… so I gave them over to their stubborn hearts to follow their own devices.” God respects our choices because forced obedience isn’t real love. He wants us to choose His path willingly, knowing that His guidance is meant to protect, not control.
In the end, God offers two paths: His way, leading to purpose and peace, or the enemy’s path, leading to chaos. True freedom isn’t the power to do whatever we want, but the wisdom to choose the way that brings lasting joy and fulfillment.

The Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus
19 Jesus said, “There was a rich man who always dressed in the finest clothes. He was so rich that he was able to enjoy all the best things every day. 20 There was also a very poor man named Lazarus. Lazarus’ body was covered with sores. He was often put by the rich man’s gate. 21 Lazarus wanted only to eat the scraps of food left on the floor under the rich man’s table. And the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 “Later, Lazarus died. The angels took him and placed him in the arms of Abraham. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 He was sent to the place of death and was in great pain. He saw Abraham far away with Lazarus in his arms. — Luke 16:19-23 | Easy-to-Read Version (ERV) Easy-to-Read Version Bible Copyright © 2006 by Bible League International Cross References: Proverbs 31:22; Ezekiel 16:49; Matthew 11:23; Matthew 15:27; Matthew 26:71; Luke 16:24; John 1:18; John 13:23

THOUGHTS:
======================
When someone says something that isn't true, it can be easy to dismiss it as harmless. However, we often don't realize the full extent of the damage our words can cause. A false statement can completely change someone's life and have a ripple effect on multiple aspects. We may not think about the consequences of our lies, but the Bible warns us about the dangers of deception.
Take the story of Abraham and Sarah, for example. To protect himself, Abraham lied to Abimelek about Sarah being his wife. This caused a series of problems and put not only himself but also others in danger. So, next time we are tempted to stretch the truth, let's remember the lesson from the Bible and consider the potential harm it may cause.
Genesis 20:4 Now Abimelek had not gone near her, so he said, “Lord, will you destroy an innocent nation? 5 Did he not say to me, ‘She is my sister,’ and didn’t she also say, ‘He is my brother’? I have done this with a clear conscience and clean hands.
* Proverbs 12:22 Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who act faithfully are his delight.
* Proverbs 19:9 A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who breathes out lies will perish.
* Psalm 101:7 No one who practices deceit shall dwell in my house; no one who utters lies shall continue before my eyes.
Lying is of the enemy- these powerful verse from the Bible reminds us of the consequences of dishonesty in our lives. We are taught that honesty is the best policy from a young age. Yet, as we grow older, we tend to disregard this simple principle and resort to lying to get out of difficult situations or to protect ourselves from the consequences of our actions.
However, as this verse from Proverbs 6:16-19 states, lying is an abomination of the Lord. It is a sinful act that goes against the teachings of God. And just like any other sin, it will not go unpunished. When we lie, not only are we breaking one of God's commandments, but we also invite trouble and discord into our lives.
But what does it mean to be punished for what we say or do? In the context of lying, it could mean facing the repercussions of our dishonesty. It could be losing the trust of our loved ones, damaging relationships, or even facing legal consequences. Our lies can have a domino effect, causing harm to ourselves and those around us.
This verse also highlights that when we practice deceit, we cannot be in the eyes of the Lord. As Christians, we strive to live a life that is pleasing to God. But when we choose to walk down the path of deceit, we distance ourselves from His presence. Instead of dwelling in His love and grace, we find ourselves in a broken state, separated from Him.
God is a God of truth and righteousness. The Bible says in Psalm 145:18, "The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth." When our lives are filled with lies and deceit, we cannot expect to have a close relationship with Him. It is only when we live in His truth and walk in His ways that we can experience His presence and blessings in our lives.
So, how do we avoid falling into the trap of lying? Firstly, we must remember that honesty is not just about speaking the truth but also living it. Our actions should align with our words. Secondly, we must have a humble heart and seek forgiveness when we do falter and lie. We must also strive to make amends and restore trust with those we have deceived.
Lying may seem like an easy way out, but as Christians, we must remember that it goes against the will of God. It is a sin that will not go unnoticed and will have its consequences. Instead, let us choose to walk in the path of truth and righteousness so we may dwell in the presence of our loving and forgiving God.
This week, we discussed What you invest your time into; that’s something we discussed this week: we invest in our health, career, and financial situations. We invest so much, but do we invest in time with God? Do we prioritize him and ensure he is at the center of our lives? Sometimes, we forget that God can be what we need and more, our life in Christ should be something we do every day; invest our time into God so we can produce good fruit that’s why some of us aren’t changing, and we aren’t growing because we aren’t investing in God we aren’t dwelling in God every day we should be willing to give more of our sleeves to God so that he can change us and mold us more and more each day
1 Peter 2:11 Dear friends, I warn you as “temporary residents and foreigners” to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your souls.
It's important to remember that the things we invest in here on earth are temporary. They won't last forever; eventually, they will rot and become food for moths. Matthew 6 tells us not to store treasures here on earth because, ultimately, they won't benefit us in the long run. Have you ever stopped to think that where you are right now is not where you will spend eternity? The things here won't help us get into heaven or achieve anything in the realm of God. They are simply for the here and now. But if we only focus on the present and don't invest in our future with God, where do we think we will end up? It's essential to spend time in His presence and dwell with Him to grow and prepare for where we are meant to be. We won't know if we don't open ourselves up and allow Him into our world. Let's reflect on where our true investments should lie, which should be in God.
Matthew 6:20-21 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Another thing we talked about is dwelling in his presence; so many of us run after we get through prayer; we run so fast out of the closet and out of where we are to rush into our lives, but we have to understand that God is part of our lives and every day when we dwell, we are asking the Holy Spirit to accept us where we are. Some of us are so ashamed of what we are doing that we don’t want to dwell in his presence because we know that in his presence, he will tell us that what we are doing wrong is a sin. Some people don’t like correction, and some can't stand it, but we must allow his spirit to reign in us and show us our faults.
Ephesians 4:23 Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes.
That’s when we allow his spirit to renew us not just sometimes but daily, and when we allow it to, we start to see a change, we start to see where what we used to think was wrong; that’s what it means to be renewed our thoughts and attitude this can only eb has done in the presence of God seeking him daily.
*** Today, in our discussion, we delved into lying and its impact on our faith as Christians. It is often believed that lying is a small sin and won't be held against us, but the truth is that the Lord despises lying. The enemy constantly bombards us with lies, trying to deceive us into thinking we are not free, that Jesus doesn't love us, and that He is not alive. However, with discernment from the Lord, we can distinguish between what is true and what is not. We must rely on the Word of God to verify the enemy's lies and remember that he will use every tactic to hold us back from experiencing the love of God. It is up to us to understand and believe that the Lord has something more important for us, and we must not let the enemy's lies keep us from experiencing it.
We must abide by the lord sometimes things in life can cause us to be asleep, but God wants us to be awake in life and sober-minded as well, we can’t allow situations to put us to sleep, and leaving us in the dark, he is the light that we need in our life, and when we follow Christ we aren’t in the darkness anymore.

Whether you know this or not, God wants to bless us. He really does. Each & every one of us. His desire is not for us to have little or to be poor. He wants us to live in abundance of more than enough so that we can be generous & help others, in the name of Jesus.
Some verses about blessing: Deuteronomy 8:18 Deuteronomy 30:15-16 Psalm 34:8 Proverbs 10:22 Proverbs 16:20 Malachi 3:10 Ephesians 3:20 Philippians 4:19
