How did you get so good at animating and drawing? Aside from practice, what techniques do you use? What software do you use?

I only know the basics/fundamentals of both drawing and animation.

For drawing, I've carried out lessons about the Elements and principles of design, the history of graphics design, traditional drawing techniques, color theory, anatomy, character design, blah blah blah. Lots of info I still do my best to practice/put in my art. If y'all notice me animating gifs then it's bc I have time to do so... ( I'm in term break until late July ) They're likely short, but it's through animation blocking, timing, and incorporating both in-betweens and tweening.

I've used Adobe Animate/After Effects for school projects, sometimes for doodles only, I currently use Clip Studio Paint bc it's where I'm more comfy with ^^ Maybe someday I'll be able to afford Toon Boom hehe.

Do you have any advice on how to deal with feeling like you ruined your life?

i mean it mostly depends on whats happened to you. i have been struggling with this feeling for the past few years and especially now, but something that has helped me is realizing that there's still Time. i cant go back and fix what i did in the past, and thinking about doing so will drive me mad, but i can work towards a better future for myself that i enjoy living day to day. i can at least try and do the hard things i couldnt do before. i can think about what i can do now in order to continue on and take the next steps. things might be bad now, but they can always improve. you have to have hope for your future in this way b/c if you don't you'll be miserable. think of if there is one small thing you can do right now to improve your circumstances. try to think of something easy. whether its picking something off the floor, filling up your waterbottle, getting a snack. truly it could be anything. sometimes i pretend one of my favorite characters is telling me stuff i need to hear skfhsjkdfhks (actually quite effective!)

of course these things are never really easy and ive only gotten to the place i am now through hard work! but don't let that dissuade you! everyone is capable of being happy and enjoying their life. nothing is ruined. there is always time to be better or live better or change.

i fear that attempts to destigamtize mental health treatment have failed to adequately account fot the degree of abuse that occurs within psychiatry, both the institutionally enforced, restraint, isolation, nonconsentual drugging, shocks, etc, and consequently enabled, our testimony will never be taken seriously so power weilders can do whatever they please, perhaps just simple rulebreaking or boundary crossing, but often truly horrible and illegal actions, as well. these two categories overlap often and affect many, especially those in the less rich, cushy hosptials for the sad vs places they send the real tough cases. sorry to say but your 6-day ~grippy sock vacation~ at the same place they put famous actors and fortune 500 CEOs is not the same as being dissapeared for months, years, with no access to the world and no defense against malice and i dont care if you think it's bad that i am anti-psychiatry because your experience was good, because we had some wildly different experiences.

They are well-versed (or should be) in medical practices, and ethics. That is to say that if/when you ever decide to poison any member of the team, they will come to the rescue. You care a lot for your friends, and you excel in seeing past their social masks. At the end of the day, everyone shows their true faces in the medical bay. You try to be there for people, making it your job to check in with people every so often, both for their physical well-being, and their mental. While you enjoy helping others heal, sometimes you need to take a bit of time to care for yourself. Motivation: Safety. You don't mean to be a mother hen or anything, but you do need to patch up the group after their skirmishes, so it would be nice if they could be a little more careful with themselves. Characteristics: Empathetic, Gentle, Organized Skills: Medical Knowledge, Herbal knowledge, Good at diagnosing and treating patients. Fears: Those you love being harmed, whilst you can do nothing but watch as their condition degrades. (Eg. being harmed by something that cannot be cured with medical knowledge.)

was reading through one of your old posts, as one does, and this part really jumped out at me:

because i usually agree with your scholarship™️ but i feel like you’re being very generous with marc here. i saw he said this in mm: all in too and like maybe i’m just against taking riders at face value but i highly doubt he defended from dani and sat behind jorge the whole race because trying a move would have been “risky” and he had no motivation to risk anything. and even if it were, since when has marc marquez ever shied away from a risky move? he wanted to cost vale his 10th, and he did, and i feel like blaming it on his supposed new-found risk avoidance instincts or whatever kinda cheapens the whole narrative? and is a little unfair towards what vale lost as well as marc’s own motivations for why he did what he did. like idk i could always be wrong but it just feels so deliberate to me (especially after sepang where you would feel he took his frustrations out anyway by sticking to vale the whole race + vale was harshly penalised going into valencia) that like even if it wasn’t a “risky” move he just wouldn’t have gone for it, because he wasn’t concerned with winning the race at all he just wanted to ruin vale’s day

icl I have zero clue what post this is from. I also operate on a strict one month warranty on a rolling basis for my opinions where I stand by nothing I said over a month ago. so who knows whether I was saying something sensible or not

but well. that being said. to engage with the points in your ask - I do generally agree with the idea that marc by that point probably was pretty happy to lose valentino the title... but I do think *that specific situation* was more complicated than that. like, yes, marc does tend to put on moves wherever possible - but he's also in a situation where his every move is being scrutinised more than it ever had before and it would've had insane repercussions if he'd taken out jorge. and he WAS riding close to jorge throughout the race, which did put jorge under more pressure than he would otherwise have been... ideally if you're helping someone out, you'd really back off more than that. obviously marc did also have to fend off dani behind him so that did mean he couldn't massively drop the pace, so I guess that one's also up to interpretation. the other big factor... it's worth pointing out. I think we're still a fair way off from the time at which it will be acceptable to mock the valencia track again, so let me just politely comment that it is not the easiest track to overtake at. you can do it if you have a sizeable speed advantage like valentino did over the field (plus obviously he also has his race craft going for him), but there's really not much in the way of convenient overtaking spots if you're as close in pace as marc and Jorge were. so if you've got a genuine lack of opportunities due to the scarcity of feasible overtaking spots... and that chimes with saying that marc was NOT prepared to make any move that had a significant chance of crashing out himself or Jorge and benefiting valentino. there just weren't many high margin moves available!!

anyway that's the practical argument. marc DID learn some lessons from 2015, he was considerably less idiotic in 2016, and while that part of him never left his competitive dna entirely... he did at least somewhat see sense. marc does sometimes shy away from risky moves, he's won some titles through consistency as much as he has pure pace - 2016 involved a lot of settling for favourable positions rather than pushing for the victory to seal that title. tbh you've even seen it this year, like obviously he's still been trying to win in the last few rounds but it's also quite clear the 'ooh boy knocking out one of the title contenders (especially the italian who will be my teammate next year) would be a Bad Look' part of his brain HAS been more or less functional. a big reason why marc passed valentino a bunch of time at sepang and marc did not pass jorge at valencia was.... well, watch the first few laps of the sepang 2024 race and then compare and contrast with basically any premier class race we've had in valencia. sometimes things like this are just dictated by the literal sport! sometimes it's not all psychology and character deep dives and narrative arcs, sometimes it's just track characteristics or chance. a lot of valencia races have involved at least some rain - and if it had rained in valencia that year, there's a pretty solid chance we'd be having very different conversations about the 2015 season. sometimes that's just how these things go... kinda mundane things can arguably cheapen the narrative while still being true

all that being said, sure, I think marc was opposed to valentino winning the title by that point, if he wasn't already anyway! I mean marc saying he wasn't willing to risk anything in that race after what valentino had done (as he did in Marc Marquez: All In TM) is quite frankly already beyond what I personally would have admitted in his shoes. tacitly (barely) it is already an admission that what had happened between him and valentino affected how he approached that race. which, no shit, but obviously that is already different to what he said *at the time*. I think ideally he would have liked to sit behind jorge for most of the race and then passed him late on, winning the race himself but also not benefiting valentino (who would've needed dani to overtake too). in the end, marc ended up getting distracted by a fight with dani late in the race, which is another factor to consider... so yeah, in the abstract sense, of course marc didn't want to help out valentino by that point in the season. but in reality, the more... practical elements of the do does also play a major role. maybe if sepang hadn't happened, marc would have made some big lunging move at jorge. it's very possible!! but he also might have not. the race might have played out in the exact same way, minus valentino starting from the shadow realm. it's the boring answer, but sometimes things are boring
