Im gonna tag uuuh @glitchy-npc @trebuchet151 @dogueteeth-fhr but y'all... can wait till wednesday if u want because it's almost wednesday again......
Fiddling with a piece that's about Arsinoe figuring out what ways they can let themself be helped, post-Retri, with broken legs in Ricardo's apartment. trying to get urself clean with broken ribs has to Suck. even more when they kind of would rather throw themself out another window than let someone actually help them with it.
“Just start yelling, and I’ll hear you,” he promises, and they’d find that more endearing if not for— Things they aren’t thinking about. Circle the edge of the thought, give it a wide berth. They’ve got other things to deal with. “I know,” they say, like ashes in their mouth. “I will. I’ll try to be a bit more dignified about it than that, though.” This time. “Dignity is overrated,” Ortega says, easing the door shut with a wink. And then a thump, him sliding down the door to sit on the ground against it.
And in the last month I've written uuuh almost 50k of original fiction. Urban fantasy,, something or another that firmly broadcasts that yes, i was a queer kid in a catholic school. spent the last couple days working on an Argument--
"Yes! No." Michael makes a frustrated noise, running his hands through his hair. "This didn't go how I wanted it to." "What did you think was going to happen if you came down here, Michael?" they laugh, incredulous. "I was just going to agree with whatever you said?" "No, you've never done that," he says, turning back to look at them. "Look. I wanted to-- apologize." "For which part of this?" they say gesturing around vaguely. "Because really it just feels like you came down here to argue."
#im not putting this in the main fandom tag#bookish.txt#i guess i should give my other thing a tag tho. it doesnt have a real name its just under the folder#problemsolving#right now#which is. not a name#i feel INFINITELY MORE CRINGE talking abt original work than i do talking abt fanworks.#attempting to stab the part of me that cringes in an alleyway but it keeps dodging :|#im also boggling abt how much ive written. whats up with that.

Developing Critical Thinking Skills to Navigate Today’s World
In today’s rapidly evolving world, the ability to think critically has never been more important. We live in an age where information is abundant, but not all of it is reliable. The ability to sift through the noise, discern truth from fiction, and make informed decisions is a skill that can empower individuals to navigate the complexities of modern life with confidence. This blog post will explore the vital role of critical thinking and provide practical strategies to cultivate this essential skill.
Understanding Critical Thinking
What is Critical Thinking?
Critical thinking is the ability to analyze information objectively, evaluate different perspectives, and make reasoned judgments. It involves questioning assumptions, examining evidence, and thinking logically and systematically. In a world where we’re constantly bombarded with information from various sources, critical thinking allows us to navigate through the clutter and arrive at conclusions that are based on facts, not just opinions.
Why Critical Thinking is More Important Than Ever
The digital age has brought with it an unprecedented flow of information. Social media, news outlets, blogs, and forums are just a few of the places where we encounter ideas, opinions, and claims. However, not all of this information is accurate or even truthful. Misinformation and disinformation have become pervasive, making it difficult to separate fact from fiction. Critical thinking is our defense against being misled. It enables us to question the validity of the information we encounter, identify biases, and make decisions that are informed and rational.
Developing Critical Thinking Skills
Cultivating Curiosity
One of the first steps in developing critical thinking is cultivating a mindset of curiosity. Curiosity drives us to ask questions, seek out diverse perspectives, and continuously learn. When we approach information with curiosity, we’re less likely to accept it at face value and more likely to dig deeper to understand the underlying truths. Encourage yourself to ask questions like, "Why is this the case?" or "What evidence supports this claim?" Curiosity is the fuel that powers critical thinking.
First Principles Thinking
A powerful tool for enhancing critical thinking is first principles thinking. This method of reasoning involves breaking down complex problems into their most basic, foundational truths, and then building up from there. Instead of relying on analogies or conventional wisdom, first principles thinking encourages us to question everything and reconstruct our understanding from the ground up.
Step 1: Identify and Define the Problem: Start by clearly defining the problem or question at hand.
Step 2: Break Down the Problem: Deconstruct the problem into its most basic components. What do you know to be true at the most fundamental level?
Step 3: Build Up from the Ground: Use these basic truths as the foundation to reconstruct your understanding or find a solution, free from preconceived notions or biases.
For example, in the world of technology, Elon Musk has famously used first principles thinking to innovate in fields like space exploration and electric vehicles. By questioning existing assumptions and focusing on fundamental truths, he has been able to develop groundbreaking solutions that defy conventional wisdom.
Practicing Analytical Thinking
Critical thinking also involves analytical thinking, which is the ability to break down complex information into manageable parts, identify patterns, and make logical connections. To practice analytical thinking, start by examining the main arguments in any given situation. Look at the evidence presented, consider alternative perspectives, and weigh the strengths and weaknesses of each point. Analytical thinking allows you to approach problems methodically and arrive at well-reasoned conclusions.
Strengthening Problem-Solving Abilities
Effective critical thinkers are also strong problem solvers. They approach problems methodically, consider multiple solutions, and reflect on past experiences to guide their decision-making. When faced with a problem, break it down into smaller parts, explore different avenues for solving it, and don’t be afraid to experiment with unconventional solutions. The ability to solve problems creatively and effectively is a key component of critical thinking.
Avoiding Cognitive Biases
Cognitive biases are mental shortcuts that can distort our thinking and lead to errors in judgment. Common biases include confirmation bias (favoring information that confirms our preexisting beliefs) and anchoring (relying too heavily on the first piece of information we encounter). To become a better critical thinker, it’s important to recognize these biases and actively work to overcome them. This involves challenging your assumptions, seeking out opposing viewpoints, and being open to changing your mind when presented with new evidence.
Applying Critical Thinking in Today’s World
Navigating the Financial Landscape
One of the most practical applications of critical thinking is in the realm of personal finance. The financial landscape is complex and ever-changing, with countless options for investing, saving, and spending. By applying critical thinking, you can make smarter financial decisions that align with your long-term goals. For example, when considering an investment in Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies, critical thinking will help you assess the risks and rewards, evaluate the credibility of the sources providing information, and avoid falling for hype or fear.
Evaluating News and Information
In a world where fake news and misinformation are rampant, critical thinking is essential for evaluating the reliability of the information we consume. To critically assess news sources, consider the credibility of the publication, the qualifications of the author, and the evidence supporting the claims made. Look out for sensationalism, clickbait headlines, and unverified information. By being discerning about the information we consume, we can protect ourselves from being misled and make better-informed decisions.
Making Informed Choices
Critical thinking isn’t just about evaluating information; it’s also about making informed choices in all areas of life. Whether you’re deciding on a career path, a major purchase, or a health-related issue, critical thinking will help you weigh the pros and cons, consider alternative options, and make decisions that are aligned with your values and goals. In an increasingly complex world, the ability to think critically and make informed choices is a powerful asset.
The Benefits of Becoming a Critical Thinker
Empowerment and Independence
One of the most significant benefits of developing critical thinking skills is the sense of empowerment and independence it brings. Critical thinkers are not easily swayed by external pressures or popular opinion. They are confident in their ability to analyze situations, make decisions, and take action based on their own reasoned judgments. This independence allows critical thinkers to live more authentic lives, guided by their own principles and values.
Improved Decision-Making
Critical thinkers tend to make better decisions because they approach problems systematically and consider all relevant factors. Whether in personal finance, career choices, or everyday decisions, critical thinking leads to outcomes that are more thoughtful, informed, and aligned with long-term goals. The ability to make sound decisions is a key factor in achieving success and fulfillment in life.
Adaptability in a Changing World
The world is changing rapidly, and those who can think critically are better equipped to adapt to new challenges and opportunities. Critical thinkers are open to new ideas, willing to question the status quo, and able to navigate uncertainty with confidence. In a world that is increasingly complex and unpredictable, the ability to think critically is a crucial skill for staying resilient and thriving in the face of change.
Conclusion
In conclusion, developing critical thinking skills is essential for navigating the complexities of today’s world. By cultivating curiosity, practicing first principles thinking, strengthening analytical and problem-solving abilities, and avoiding cognitive biases, you can become a more effective and empowered thinker. The benefits of critical thinking extend far beyond individual decisions; they empower you to live a more informed, independent, and fulfilling life. Start developing your critical thinking skills today and embrace the power of reasoned judgment to transform your life and the world around you.

Hi! Loving all your wonderful CCs :)
Just wanted to ask if you are experiencing issue with your Perrine windows? One of the windows doesn't appear correctly in my game, is it just me? ;(
Hi and thank you! 🥰 Also so sorry for the late reply!
Could you provide some more details how does the window not work? I tried checking the files on both of them and I couldn't see anything wrong. Also if it's the Barn Sash Window or the Safety Window! Thank you and hopefully we can figure this problem out! 🌻

My amazing professor named our scientific retreat for this April as:
MMS Magnificent - Mini - Symposium 🔥
I have to choose my most mature project and explain in a single storyline with max 5 figures (if i dont have any to make fake plots) the main scope and discuss if the basic logic works. I also have to present an issue where I am stuck.
After that we will have barbecue 🤩
I have been isolated from the specific project because i dont work often on it lately and i can't see it as one because i work on different parts compartmentalized and some parts where made from another colleague before me. I dont feel i own this project and i want to come closer to this. In the next days i want to spend at least 2-3 hours daily of focused timw thinking on this while creating the presentation.

100 days of code_ Python: Day 1 and Day 2
(09/01/2023) and (10/01/2023)
Obs: the int in weight I concert, but I want to sharing my erros, so it's ok.
THE SOLUTION
Yesterday I slept studying, so I put aside posting (the tumblr algorithm doesn't like this, but sometimes it will happen UHEUE)
When I bought the course, I thought. I'm going to spell it out there, Do several days of the course in one day
Reality: I like it, but at the same time I'm so bad at it UHEHUEHUEU
A part of me didn't want to share this here, show my mistakes (my vulnerability).
But neither I nor you reading this were born knowing things, I'm learning, so obviously I need to fail to improve and I hate the culture of productivity/toxic perfection.
Previously I just did the conversion from portugol to python.
It wasn't really a theory + documentation, but observation.
As I understood by observing that the Leia command in Portugol was Input to store data in variables in Python.
So it's been a good learning experience.
I would like to highlight things that I understood that I have to improve, be more attentive:
+There were times when I got lost with it doing a lot of variables and mainly using functions (in my logic exercises I didn't use much or none of the two, so I learned to deal / understand how to use it)
+ If you've read past posts, you know that I have anxiety and today I understood that it was bothering me and I wasn't even noticing. My mind was so eager to do the exercise and try it right away that I didn't pay attention to what the exercise was asking of me.
And for me when it comes to programming/problem solving you must first use rationality and not emotion.
So I started to write what was asked, I reflected and then I started to code. It will be something that I will have to develop more, even more so in a work environment. But being aware and trying to improve helps.
+I have to improve (AND A LOT) my logic of creating variables, I felt so ashamed of myself. UHEUHEUHEUEE
+ That when you are a beginner, any opportunity to practice logic should be taken advantage of.
As I explained, I did more of a conversion of my Portugol exercises than really their logic (after all, I had already done that) So now, I will always dedicate myself to thinking about each step to be taken in the construction of the algorithm.
Well, that's it for now.
I wish you are managing to deal with your studies and that you are well, drink water.
