And the sad thing is there was no reason for Bonnie not to be there!! There was no reason why she shouldn't have been sought after-- especially considering Mama Orginal's ( all the original ) connection to Bonnie's ancestors. It was yet another example of dummy plec and crew sacrificing good storytelling, for cheap placating to a particular group or in plec's cause - able to self-insert & live through a character that... let be real didn't do much of anything ( and I love care and matt but legit ... what did they contribute to this ? !) Bonnie and the whole Bennett line were used to fix mistakes the writers made. They made no real effort to make these characters three-dimensional. They were used as plot props to prop up characters that didn't do a damn thing and it's sad and infuriating and a prime example of LAZY FUCKING WRITING THAT MOST PEOPLE ATE UP CAUSE THEY DIDN'T KNOW ANY BETTER!! The only peace I get now so far removed from that dumpster fire of a show is that Bonnie stan and Bennett stans have made some bomb ass content that honestly is ten times better than what I forced myself to watch for all those years!

After the fiasco at the hospital you and stiles decided the best option would be heading to the school to update Scott, you were still pretty upset at everything that happened but you were more in control of your emotions now which you were happy about. "I'm gonna stay in the car, while you go tell Scott." You told stiles as he pulled into the school parking lot. Stiles looked at you with wide eyes, he really didn't want to leave you alone and you were thankful for that but you needed to regulate your thoughts. "I'll be fine, I promise" you said, trying to convince him. Stiles nodded "yeah okay, well just uh, just stay here till i get back and I'll take you home" he said, as he exited the car. Stiles closed the door and began sprinting towards the lacrosse field, making you let out a small laugh.

You sat alone with your thoughts and your mind raced. Why would Derek leave you like that? Better yet, why would he leave you from Peter after he killed his sister. You didn't understand, but if you knew one thing, it's that next time you see Peter you'd put up a bigger fight. After all that was the second time he'd knocked you unconscious.

Derek was starting to become a man you didn't know, you knew his thirst for revenge was strong but there seemed to be something more than that. A thirst for something else but you didn't know what. But you did know Derek wouldn't just forgive Peter after all he's done.

You didn't realize how long you had been caught up in your head until Stiles re-entered the jeep. "You okay?" He asked out of breath. You nodded absentmindedly, "they were here with Scott in the locker room, left right before i got there." He said cautiously. Again you nodded, not really sure what to think, maybe your brain was still foggy from being knocked against the wall. "Just take me home, please" you asked, feeling defeated. Stiles frowned, nodding before putting the car in drive and pulling off.

The next morning you woke up to the sound of the front door creaking open, your senses were usually on high alert but last night took a toll on your body and put you in a deep sleep after having to heal your body for such a long time. You being somewhat of a different kind of werewolf than Derek had your pros and cons. One con, you needed more time to heal.

You quietly as you could snuck out of the room and looked over the side railing, letting out a relieved breath when you made eye contact with Derek. But just as quickly as the relief came it left, rolling your eyes you moved to get dressed "y/n" Derek said quickly following after you. "Not right now Derek I'm not really in the mood" you said not even bothering to turn around to look at him. Derek grabbed your wrist pulling you to a stop and turning you toward him. "Babe please just-"

"No I won't hear you out. I went there last night, for you! I was knocked unconscious and woke up to my brother telling me that my so-called 'boyfriend' left with his psycho uncle leaving me weak, feeble and alone" you shouted at him. You were rightfully upset, and Derek knew that, the look on his face told you everything you needed to know. He looked down to where his hand held your wrist and sighed. Your anger didn't subside, but it did shift into sadness "what if i was attacked, what if something else happened last night and I couldn't protect myself let alone stiles. I was weak and i needed my boyfriend and you weren't there" You said, your chin twitching as you held back tears

Derek looked completely ashamed as he should, but it didn't make you feel any better. You opened your mouth to say something but closed it again, hesitant to let those words slip past your lips. You inhaled quickly before pulling your arm out of his hand "Derek i think we should take a break" you said quietly, unable to look at him. You couldn't see the hurt on his face because you knew you'd change your mind. "Y/n you don't have to do this we can work it out" he pleaded. You shook your head, "it isn't something we need to, it's something you need to. You've changed, you're not the man I fell in love with. You're hungry for something and I don't know what it is, you won't tell me and it's scaring me" you admitted, finally looking up at him. Derek was good at hiding his emotions, but even without your heightened senses you could tell he was hurt by what you said.

You felt a pang in your heart because it wasn’t your intention to hurt him. You just knew the two of you needed some time apart, and you also knew Derek would respect it even if it hurt him to accept it. So after a long pause of just staring at each other, he nodded. You pulled away from him, making your way to the place where you kept your clothes. “I’m gonna move in with the stilinskis for the time being” you told him. You weren't sure why but it felt right. Derek nodded again, not sure what to do other than stand there as you packed your things.

“With stiles? Why stiles?” He asked exasperatedly

you sighed “because technically he and Noah one of the only living relatives i have left and Alan and i still aren’t on that great of terms”

It took a while for you to get settled into the room stiles and Noah offered you, it was nicely sized and completely blank for you to in the words of Noah ‘change and decorate to your liking’.

You didn’t have much to start with at the moment but you had a bed and a house that wasn't illegally running water and electricity. You sighed, as you exited your room on your way downstairs to thank stiles and Noah again for allowing you into their home, only to find stiles right in front of you about to go downstairs too, “hey you settling in okay?” He asked, continuing on his way. You nodded following after him “yep, it's nice to have everything around you not be covered in ash” you joked lightly. “Yeah, i never understood why you lived in that dump anyway” stiles shrugged walking down the stairs, you scoffed “hay just because were broken up doesn’t mean you can insult the house okay? It has sentimental value” you lightly defended. Stiles dramatically rolled his eyes in usual stiles manner. He rushed to the refrigerator grabbing the milk out of it letting out a laugh in what seemed to be victory.

You raised your eyebrow, before turning to Noah sitting at the table. “Whacha doin?” You asked him. He lifted looked over towards you and presumably stiles before sighing. “Work” he answered, returning his attention to the papers scattered in front of him. “Anything i can help with” stiles asked with a smile. You rolled your eyes, moving to sit it's like two laser beams at the table across from Noah. “Y’know if you poured me an ounce of whiskey that’d be awfully nice” Noah said, not taking his eyes off the papers. You raised your eyebrows “that bad huh?” You asked, and Noah grunted. Stiles stepped fully into the room with a glass and a bottle of whiskey. “Any leads” stiles reached for the paper but before he could grab any Noah flicked his hand with a pen. “You know i cant discuss that with you” Noah said.

Stiles rolled his eyes grabbing the bottle of whiskey pouring some into the glass after Noah told him not to put too much. He poured about an ounce before pausing, looking over to you and you knew exactly what he was thinking. You subtly shook your head no but he started pouring again filling the glass over half way. You glared at him and he shrugged “okay, there ya go dad” he said handing Noah the glass. “Thanks, bottoms up” he said, downing the whole glass without any reaction.

You looked at him in shock before quickly covering it up, “so what’s happening, we wont tell anyone” you said. You knew it was wrong but you couldn’t help yourself, even when stiles gave you a ‘so its okay when you do it?’ Look. You shrugged in return, pausing when Noah started talking and immediately mentioned derek. “You Derek hale would be a whole hale of a lot-“ he started but paused, “hale of a lot” he repeated. Yeah that whiskey hit him hard and fast. “Hell of a lot?” Stiles impatiently corrected. “Hell” Noah repeated giving stiles a thumbs up.

“He would be a hell of a lot easier to catch if we could get a good picture of him,” he said. You frowned in confusion “how do you not have a picture of him?” Stiles asked, reading your mind. Derek had been in the system more times than you’d like to admit, but to be fair 99% of the time he was innocent.

“It's the weirdest thing it's like every time it ray to get a mugshot it's like two laser beams were pointing at the camera” he said showing stiles the picture, immediately it clicked in your head, ‘he was using his eyes’ you told yourself. “Nice” stiles said inspecting the picture before laying it down.

Noah groaned, stretching “oh my god, that ounce hit me like a brick” he said rubbing his face. ”Maybe because it was a little more than an ounce” you muttered, knowing that stiles heard you but Noah was too drunk to be aware. Stiles sent you a glare hoping you’ll take the hint and shut up.

You had a feeling this conversation was going to take an unexpected turn so you excused yourself by giving them one last thank you and went back to your room.

You plopped down on your bed staring at the ceiling deep in thought. You couldn’t believe you’d broken up with Derek, well it wasn’t a break up more so a break… from each other? Time for Derek to figure himself and his priorities out.

You were consumed with confusion when you all of a sudden heard the front door slam followed by someone (most likely stiles) hastily pulled out of the driveway making you frown in confusion. ‘Where the hell was he going in such a rush and why didn’t he say anything to me’.

You waited up for about an hour for Stiles to return home, sending him messages and calling his phone, you even sent a message to Scott and still nobody answered, which was unusual for both of them.

You paced your room, anxiety through the roof. You’re supposed to be a protector. You’re supposed to protect your people. Your thoughts were interrupted when you got a call. You rushed to your phone hoping it was stiles or Scott, you were caught off guard when you saw deatons name flash across your screen.You answered with confusion “y/n i know this call is unexpected. But you might wanna get to the clinic, Scott was shot.” he said. Your eyebrows furrowed “If he was shot then he should heal”. Deaton sighed before replying “I'm afraid it wasn't a regular bullet”

The realization suddenly hit you. “Wolfsbane”

I really wish TVD wasn’t made by a racist coz IMAGINE what a storyline we could’ve gotten out of Bonnie’s witchcraft. Like the Bennett witches did get a good storyline but like they could’ve delved into her ancestry more, like African or creole traditions and stuff and where the Bennett magic hails from and stuff like that.

Imagine if Bonnie was the one who got pregnant by Klaus due to the one night stand and left Mystic falls and ended up in New Orleans. ( I know it would have been very ooc of her but let’s imagine there was a build up with Klaus in S4, they could’ve went from enemies to lovers) With the whole Witches storylines in The Originals, it would’ve made a better storyline and more sense than Hayley getting pregnant out of nowhere.

She could’ve showed up in TO, imagine her and Marcel as a BFF duo OMGGGGGG.

And Hope would’ve been a Bennett witch tribid as well, that would’ve been so interesting.

The Bennett lore is quite unmatched being the foundation of everything. That’s the pro in this and every woman in their line is a witch how badass are those women! The con is how the writers reduced them to servitude other than that I agree. The writers loved the heroic, selfless, courageous, intelligent, and powerful character that Bonnie embodies but they don’t like the black aspect of Bonnie. Which is why the other shows and witches are different variants of Bonnie. Seeing African or creole culture included in the originals would’ve been nice! I know some fans praise TO for how they handled black characters but they were a very small step above the Bennett witches. Kat Graham does have Liberian roots they could’ve done something with that as well.

Not to bash Hayley or Phoebe Tonkin at all but it is a sign of favoritism and white privilege that she showed up after Kat/Bonnie (same for the Originals themselves) and got a spin off and full push that Bonnie or the Bennett’s were never going to get.

I don’t think it would’ve been OOC if Bonnie got with Klaus or any other vampire/villain. Bonnie was friends with all vampires. She wasn’t getting emotional support and always getting the short-stick. That alone would push anyone to snap and find bliss in the darkness. Bonnie’s expression arc was all about her showing that darker side. Bonnie, Abby, Sheila each have tons of unpacked family drama that anyone else would have explored. If Hope was biracial not only would she have a connection to a witch-bloodline there would have to been a plotline to see how Bonnie unpacks her mommy and daddy issues. Least we have fanfics for our girl!

for context: i’ve had this love-hate relationship with tvd since i was 12. now that i’m grown and not blinded by insignificant storylines and attractive 30-year-olds playing teenager roles, i’m rewatching and struggling. and i’m taking y’all with me.

elena gilbert, 1/10

- banal

- whiny

- bad acting, got like two facial expressions

- annoying

- tries to be cool and tough, but to me she’s just cringe 99% of the time

- i don’t give her 0 just because she’s rarely funny and active (= not being a damsel in distress or a living ingredient for some witchcraft shit)

B A C K G R O U N D

born and raised, for the most part, in los angeles, shamaya's rise to fame was destined from birth. with her mother being a pop/r&b sensation and her father being a well known producer, her life was pretty much set financially from the moment she entered the world. and while it was great that she would never have to worry about struggling like a majority of the world's population, the cons that were attached to her lifestyle tended to outweigh the pros.

like her mother who was forced into the industry at a young age, so was she. as much as she loves her mother, there's still a lingering air of resentment that maya has towards her because she feels as though she stole her childhood away from her. one would think that because her mother went through something similar that she wouldn't want her daughter to go through that, but they'd be wrong. from the time that shamaya could walk and talk, she's been working.

she had her first acting gig at the wide eyed age of four years old, and by the time she was ten years old, she had a hefty catalogue of work underneath her belt. movies, tv show appearances, and the main role of a kid's television show. and at the time, she absolutely loved it. she enjoyed working. it made her feel like a grownup, something that a lot of kids wished that they could experience. what she didn't notice while growing up was that she was missing out on a lot of fundamental childhood growth. going to school instead of being homeschooled by private tutors, making friends on the playground, etc. she never got to experience any of that.

looking back on it, the most fun memories from her childhood were the times she spent a few weeks of the summer seasons in jamaica with her mother's family or in vietnam with her father's family. when she could just be a normal child, playing and enjoying herself amongst relatives; especially her cousins around her age.

she was thirteen years old when she entered the music world. a girl group was her introduction to the music industry, a trio with two other girls who were both talented in their own respect. they were met with quite a lot of success, selling records and selling out tours by the time she was fifteen. at that point in her life, she had fallen in love with music, and didn't see the issue with her giving up her youth in return for all of her success. she was on the rise, and no one could stop her from reaching the top.

due to contractual conflicts and butting heads within the group itself, the trio disbanded by the time shamaya turned eighteen years old. and once their breakup was solidified, she immediately signed with a new label as a solo artist. in her excitement and naiveté, she recklessly signed a deal that ended up shooting her in the foot. a contract that locked her into a legal promise to provide the label with eight studio albums; something that seemed fair and doable to maya in her youthful ignorance. what she didn't realize was that it would soon become apparent that she shot herself in the foot with her decision.

booked and busy didn't even begin to describe maya's life from that point on. if she wasn't recording an album, she was promoting an album, or doing some form of work to keep her name at the forefront of the general public's mind. from 2011 to 2020, she released an album almost every year, resulting in having seven albums in less than a decade, a feat that very few artists can say that they've reached.

apart from being overworked, maya's former ways of being overly kind and accessible opened her up to being screwed over and taken advantage of many times, both professionally and personally. this treatment eventually led to the hardening of her heart, turning her from a wide eyed, bushy tailed, eager to please pop star, to a scorned, miserable songstress in the spotlight. she began hating the music industry for destroying her love of music. she never wanted to touch a mic again, whether or not she was contractually obligated to.

after releasing her seventh studio album in 2020, she began focusing on other prospects. her makeup line was the first of her business ventures, and quickly became a success due to its diverse and inclusive shades of foundations and concealers, gaining traction amongst the beauty industry and the public. not only was it high quality, but it was easily accessible to people from all walks of life. her next business venture involved a line of high in lingerie, another successful accomplishment underneath her belt. despite all the success she achieved as a businesswoman, the lingering knowledge in the back of her mind that she still owes her label another album terrifies her. she doesn’t want to go back to music, and she doubts she ever will. she’s been trying to hold off on that final album for three years now, and her label, and fans, are growing more and more impatient and irritated with her delays.

For Bonnie’s perfect ending. I’d include romance (could be any man or woman I multi-ship for a reason!) or a future head-nod to romance with someone. Tvd was about ROMANCE/family & supernatural things. Next, I’d include a call back to Bonnie’s family or future family. As nice as the final scene was with her coven that’s the only time we ever see her stand with them. It’s bullshit. Bonnie should’ve been a coven leader or even considered a Queen-Witch. It would be nice to see Bonnie rebuild that Bennett coven from either witches she meets on her travels (tapping into a found-family trope here) or she meets more Bennett witches. They can’t all be dead! Bonnie eventually being a mom would be cool (not that kids define anyone. But after caring for MFG all 8 seasons…Let Bonnie be a mom. We know Caroline and Elena are parents) Lastly, for Bonnie’s ending I’d place her in a good career. We know Bonnie went to college but we don’t know what her major is. One of my many headcanons is that Bonnie’s into business or hospitality management. Maybe Bonnie becomes a teacher/mentor one day! Own a store. Be a photographer! I think Bonnie would want to be just as connected to people as possible. I don’t think she’d stay in Mystic Falls forever and I don’t see her working at the Salvatore Boarding School longterm if she was to stay there. Maybe a couple months to a year before she leaves. Bonnie’s a little more nomadic than she’s given credit for.

It’s something small but mentioned in season 2 when Lucy is around. Bonnie mentions balance and not knowing where she fits. If you want fanfic with the level of specificity that you have described, you should probably try writing it yourself.

TVD ran from 2009-2017 and if nobody in the bonnie bennett fandom has met your fanfic criteria at this point in time — THE YEAR OF OUR LORD 2023, SIX YEARS AFTER THE SHOW ENDED — they most likely won't start now, especially if you go around accusing them of being fake fans 🙄

Stop trying to shame people for liking what they like just because it's different from what you prefer. At the end of the day, Bonnie fans are all on the same side of wanting our girl to step into her own, find happiness and love with a partner who is deserving of her.

The issue isn't nor has ever been about fanfics not meeting my expectations or who is shipped with who or etc. The issue has always been the hypocrisy that certain "Bonnie Fans" exhibit but rarely to never gets called out on. I have seen fans complain about Bonnie being used as a witch on call for the Mystic Falls gang and how it was wrong and Bonnie shouldn't be a witch on call but then in the same breathe talk about how she should have gone to New Orleans and been an on call witch for the Mikaelsons and how it was racist she wasn't. They also make comments about her being a slave because she uses her power to save her friends but when you point out Davina and Freya, two white witches, play the same role those characters are never associated with the term slave but black witches are by the fandom. Mind you the people calling the black witches magical negros and slaves are pro POC or at least that is what they claim. Mind you those people don't use terms like magical hunky or slave for the white witches, just the black ones despite both playing the same role. These fans talk about the mistreatment of black characters by the writers, which to an extent yes Black characters were mistreated, but then go on to further degrade those black characters by using slurs under the guise of being supportive of them.

As far as the fake Bonnie fans comment they are absolutely fake Bonnie fans. Why? Because they claim they hate her writing, hating her the first 5 seasons because she was judgmental, say she was wrong for seeking revenge on Kai, say her clothes were ugly and so was her hair but then say they liked the character. If you don't like the writing of a character then you don't like the character. How often do you see those fans talk about things they liked about Bonnie writing? No just the superficial "I love her character" "She is beautiful" "She had great chemistry with Damon or other white toxic male". Rarely to never have I seen this from those fans.

Now I don't mind fans saying certain storylines could have been slightly improved. However when you want to rewrite the entire character you could never have been a fan of the character to begin with. If you want to get rid of a fundamental trait of Bonnie Bennett then she was never your favorite character.

Also not all Bonnie fans are on the same side. You can't claim she deserved better but then put her with Kai or Klaus and not address or downplay the trauma she experienced because of them. You also can't say the relationship makes sense but ignore the horrible crap they did to her and all the other reasons it doesn't.

Once again I want to point out I don't care who anyone ships but if you make statements like "Bonnie deserved better and the writers were racist for not putting her and Kai/Klaus/Damon/Etc. together" I am going to address why it wasn't racist to not have Bonnie date those men and how dating those men is not giving Bonnie deserved better. For those people who ship Bonkai, Bamon, Klonnie, etc. but don't make such claims and acknowledge the horrible things those men did to Bonnie, I have no ill will towards those people.

As far as not writing my own fanfiction. I have made it clear I am not a fanfic writer or even heavy reader. Nor have I claimed I am a better fanfic writer than others. My post have been addressing the hypocrisy of certain Bonnie fans and fanfic writers. Just as those fans call out the flaws of Julie plec work I have the right to call out the flaws in their work especially when they claim they are better writers.

I have way more I want to say and will in the upcoming weeks but my issue with certain Bonnie fans goes deeper than rather Bonnie is shipped with a toxic white male. It is how those fans treated Bonnie for most the series and how under the guise of defending her the degrade and belittle the character. It is backhanded compliments of "I like the character but her storylines sucked and her outfits were ugly". It is also how she gets thrown under the bus by those fans when it comes time to hold thier fav white character accountable. Its the "Oh I hated Bonnie for not undoing the gilbert device and almost causing Stefan and Damon to die. She was annoying until Season 6" or the "Bonnie was wrong for trying to hurt Kai and she is to blame for everything he did". These are the comments those fans make when you dig deeper and have deeper conversations with them.

It is even deeper than the show or Bonnie Bennett but the treatment of POC by fans across multiple fandoms especially fantasy ones. It is how those fans degrade the character for most of the series but then want to jump on the bandwagon of mistreatment of POC characters towards the end and they do it with back handed compliments. Those fans claim the character was boring, their storylines sucked and how they were dressed ugly but supposedly are pro POC characters. Also usually when they jump on the bandwagon it isn't because they cared about the mistreatment of the character of color but more so because they know calling a writer racist holds more weight then whining about your favorite white ship not getting enough screentime or their happy ending. So they use the racism agenda to tarnish a writers career while simultaneously being racist themselves not actually caring about racism.

childhood & adolescence: alana grew up with a single mother in the bronx. her father, whom her mother didn't really speak about often, was never in the picture for her. from a young age, it was quite difficult for her to deal with the fact that she grew up without a dad. she absolutely adored her mother, but being teased by other children for not having both parents in her life caused her a lot of inner turmoil. it didn't help that she was a rather awkward looking child - as most people go through their ugly duckling stages. despite being a shy, introverted girl, alana had a very short tempered fuse - a trait that she inherited from her mother. her peers assumed that her quiet demeanor would make her an easy target for bullying, but she quickly proved them wrong after getting into a scuffle here and there; scuffles where she primarily came out on top. her mother, tired of being called to her school for her fighting bullies, decided that she needed to redirect her short fuse into another avenue; which was when she introduced a ten year old alana to boxing. her mother was an amateur female boxer in her youth, but retired and laid her boxing dreams to rest when she got pregnant with alana. it became quite obvious that the boxing gene was passed onto her, because she took to it like a fish takes to water and fell in love with the sport. throughout middle and high school, alana kept up with her boxing. it became a dream of hers to enter the professional world of boxing. in her mind, she had the perfect path set up for herself. she would graduate, focusing on training full time and eventually open up her own gym dedicated to boxing. as much as she loved the sport, being in the public eye as a famous boxer wasn't something that she was interested in. she just wanted to box without being known by the world.

early & mid twenties: boxing had become a huge part of her life by that point. training for hours everyday, competing in amateur fights here and there. she was saving up money to buy a local gym in her neighborhood when a sudden tragedy struck. her mother passed away not too soon before alana's twenty sixth birthday. it was due to health complications that she didn't share with alana - which broke alana's heart. she was devastated that her mother didn't share her health issues with her, and was angry towards her mother for quite a while after her death for that reason, but months in therapy has helped her start to move past that and let the anger go. all the money she had been saving up to buy the gym had to go towards her mother's funeral arrangements and all other loose ends that needed to be tied up; setting alana back at square one all over again.

current day: alana always thought that she was just a normal girl from the bronx. it came as a hell of a shock to her when she was contacted by her father's side of the family to let her know that not only was her father, and by association herself, royalty, but he was the king of the small european country he resided in - making her a princess. she couldn't believe that her life had turned into some fucked up version of the princess diaries. at first she didn't believe them - but after doing some research of her own and going through old papers that her mother kept stashed and hidden away from her, she learned that it was true.

then her life was flipped upside down once more. suddenly she had security following her around at all times, complete strangers vying for her attention. the royal family and consults are trying to control every aspect of her life - she can't box anymore, she can't do this, she can't do that. it's stifling and overwhelming for her. she never wanted this; she was content with her life, for the most part. now it was a complete circus. the one thing that she's held onto is her childhood home. she refuses to move out, although she knows eventually she might have to give in to her new family's wishes and move into a safer, more secure home. but until then, she's fine with having security roaming around her childhood home, as long as she gets to keep one piece of her old life for now.

i love love love people who write rants about how much they care about elena and stefan was the bad one….and they ship delena. ..ugh, both of them did things that were too much to handle for a minor, but damon, he was a really special case. if anything, damon and elena should have served as an example for how you deal and get over of a toxic relationship…but it's fantasy.
