Honestly, the "gay voice" and the "tranny voice" are both so fucking beautiful and stunning. Frankly, those are the voices I would rather hear than somebody who is complaining about the way queer people exist and speak. Those voices are what I want to hear serenaded to me, to hear express joy and pain and love, and hear exist. Those are the voices that are most gorgeous.
#queer#lgbt#lgbtq#watching a video by somebody with a 'gay voice' and it's refreshing. like a pitcher of ice-cold lemonade on a 100°F/37°C afternoon#it's just weird because people who complain about 'stereotypical' queer voices act like it's a crime???#like its a genuine horrific experience that somebody has a voice that is deemed 'stereotypical'#i was a section leader with a guy with THE gayest voice and i adored that his gayness bled into the way he spoke#i just loved the idea of being So Understanding of yourself that you let it overcome you#and at the time i was starting to internalize so much transphobia and homophobia...#...and i prevented myself from existing so boldly. part of me envied him for his unapologetic gayness#i thought that kind of openess wasn't to be afforded to me because i hadn't earned it

sorry to ramble in your inbox (feel free to ignore this ofc) but you are the only person on my dash being realistic about misogyny rn
I'm so annoyed by the posts like "men are being ignored by women and that's why they aren't supporting us". Because the feminist movement for over a decade has had a focus on supporting men, especially with mental health. And there's a whole month (this month!) that is focused around men's health (mostly physical but with some mental as well). And women are all over the internet encouraging men to do things like go to therapy. The list goes on.
and the fact that they know (or acknowledge) none of that shows how much posturing it all is.
"complete strangers made generalizations I didn't like on the internet so it's their fault I'm a misogynist" I am going to scream.
god i can’t stand how much the feminist movement centers men. I feel like honestly part of the problem is ppl don’t see women as a marginalized group even when women are clearly facing really brutal oppression, bc subconsciously they think that’s how it’s supposed to be.
And like , when they acknowledge women as oppressed, its never acknowledged as being done by men— there’s always some invisible boogeyman doing it: “the government or “capitalism” or “society”. All these very vague gender neutral concepts.
The fact that it’s taboo to actually acknowledge women have an oppressor and that oppressor is MEN drives me insane. Among leftist groups it’s at its most hypocritical. They are so clearly able to understand oppression, and the dynamic between oppressed and oppressor…until it’s women. Then suddenly we’re equal apparently.
And that’s something men want, that’s why they push so hard for this narrative that “men’s issues are different but just as bad” (even tho that’s 100% fucking false lmao) because it means that they’re distanced from accountability, and women aren’t suffering anymore than them so really those bitches should just shut up about it.
It’s disgusting and intentional and I encourage any woman reading this to stop caring about “mens rights”. They already have rights.
It’s like, think about how offended ppl were when straight ppl requested their own month. Think about how blatantly racist it sounds when white ppl try to imply they’re oppressed for being white.
now unpack why you don’t feel that way with mennn
#ask tag#sexism#sorry this is only kind of related to the ask 😭#I hope more ppl are anti sexist on ur dash anon#Also ok i generally dislike using racism as an argument when it’s about smth that isnt about racism#bc I’m indigenous and it annoys me so much when ppl just use it as a “gotcha”#Like the amount of times white ppl use anti-native and anti-black racism as an easy gotcha move is crazy#BUT when it’s about sexism and hypocrisy in talking about women’s oppression#I’ll bring it up#Bc also the way sexism and racism function is way more similar than anyone talks about#Not identical but the whole hating you from birth outcasting you for your appearance making you seem uneducated and uncivilised#While simultaneously preventing you from getting an education so you stay uneducated and therefore easy to control and keep down#Fetishizing and killing you as a powerplay#Keeping you from voting keeping you from seeing any significant power#Unfair imprisonment (like how despite less women ending up in jail they tend to be there for more minor crimes with longer sentences)#Being systematically forced into poverty and having your body systemically controlled#(Note - specifically talking about cis women here. For trans women it’s a mix of some of this and a lot of really brutal homophobia)#Anyway#Oh also police brutality especially against female DV survivors#It just shocks me how ppl talk about sexism

some folks are discussing fandom infighting, but I haven’t still seen any examples of wolfwren stans sending hate. I scrolled through every comment on the Ahsoka casts’ posts (yes all of them) and the only hate I saw was homophobia aimed at wolfwren.
does anyone have examples & links to wolfwren fans being toxic? so we as a community can block them + make sure they understand they aren’t welcome in the fandom? I have dozens of tangible examples of the vile hate people have sent to wolfwren stans (x x x) and a long list of transphobes/homophobes if anyone wants a block list.
#wolfwren#to be completely honest#I’m tired of the “both sides” argument once again when I can’t find any actual hate towards cishet ships#and i mean actual HATE & not silly “RIP [shipname here]” or “those characters are fam not romantic.”#so if someone is doing it I want to know so we can prevent them from being in the community because they are not welcome.#also- don't forget being called homophobic is *not* the same as discriminated against for being gay.#yes it hurts to be queer and called homophobic BUT that doesn't mean you weren't being homophobic. anyone can perpetuate harm#just like any women can be misogynist & have internalized misogyny- any member of the LGBTQIA+ can perpetuate homophobia + transphobia.#nobody gets an “out” for being in the community. if you are queer and called homophobic it's perhaps time to reflect#on if you do happen to have any unchecked biases from the comphet society around you.#text

trying to hold it together but… just read about Nex Benedict (may their memory be a blessing) who was a Native non-binary teen murdered in their high school bathroom in Oklahoma.
thinking of Akira Ross, a Black queer woman murdered in Texas, less than an hour from me.
thinking of all the queer & trans young people in the south who die at the hands of bigots.
just feeling really fucking sad and sick to my stomach.
#i just#a child murdered by other children#because of the hateful ideology being spread rampant#because of the system of colonialism + capitalism that necessitates gender heirarchies to continue its function#because of white supremacy#i’m just crying because like what the fuck else can i do#i will burn insence and candles#i will say a prayer#and i will ask to be given the opportunity to prevent the loss of another precious queer life#i’m just fucking#so overwhelmed with grief#tw murder#tw transphobia#tw homophobia#cw death#nex benedict#akira ross#southern queer

#would help if bbc merlin were good.#well it is. except it isn't. you know how it is 🖤#anyway... i miss watching merlin commit crimes against humanity out of internalised homophobia#and then doing an 'I could not prevent it :(((' routine to rival the vampire armand#WHILE everything around him did indeed conspire to make that his fate!!!#bbc merlin

CW: homophobia, sexism, racism, ageism, incest, emotional abuse….
Men have such a victim complex about relationships because of the association of the “nerd” stereotype with maleness. It really has lowered the bar for men so much.
My guy friend was making a joke about how he’s not attractive and supposedly can’t get women. His sister had to remind him that he has slept with multiple women before and has had multiple girlfriends before and has had “friends with benefits” and his longest relationship was over 3years! He was able to get these women in spite of the fact that he clearly has a misogynistic sense of entitlement to women. 🙄
His sister who is more conventionally attractive than him but has still never dated had to remind him of that. 🙄
This man has also:
. Mocked women’s asses for not being big enough
. Made jokes about being entitled to blowjobs
. Mocked women for not giving good enough blowjobs
. Mocked women’s vaginas for not being good enough (especially older women)
. Publicly shamed, blamed, and guilt tripped a woman who rejected him for his suicide attempt (common manipulation tactic)
. Publicly shamed and guilt tripped his ex girlfriend in the middle of game night because she hadn’t sent him nudes yet! 🙄
. Uses misogynistic slurs as long as they include “white” in front of them
. Laughs at rape scenes in movies
. Makes incest and beastiality jokes about the south and mocks southern accents (he is from TN)
. Makes homophobic jokes about politicians he doesn’t like being closeted gay (he is straight)
. Makes racist jokes about black penises (he’s white)
. Has a misogynistic homophobic lesbian fetish
Yet he still has more sexual and romantic experience than me. So he’s basically a typical straight male. 🙄
His name is William Thomas Lasley and he lives in Hermitage TN

Someone needs to write "5 times patpran thought korn & wai were together + 1 time they realized they were wrong" and it's just korn and wai doing increasingly sussy things but it turns out they really are just homies who kiss the homies goodnight. They go get tested for stds together. They pretend to be dating to get discounts at restaurants. Etc. In the end it's revealed that they actually had sex one time but neither of them rly liked it and that's how they know they're not gay
#PLS IM DYING AT KY OWN IDEA#patpran are like oh no...their internalized homophobia is preventing them from realizing theyre in love w each other..#so they try to meddle#only to be gagged in the end when kornwai are like huh? youve been trying to get us together? we already tried it tho#it was mid

Two things that are simultaneously true:
1. Gender and sexuality are complex and can be fluid. An identity isn't always fixed and can change with time for many reasons
2. It is not acceptable to force others to change their gender or sexuality and the mantra that they (queer people) can change if they only "try hard" is both cruel and homophobia and/or transphobia
#queer#lgbt#lgbtq#homophobia#homophobia tw#transphobia#transphobia tw#when i first came out as trans i was told this story about how my dad's therapist had a lesbian client with homophobic parents...#...how her parents were *so close* to coming to terms with her lesbianism and she got a boyfriend and look! she changed so why couldn't you!#the thing that was so fucked up about that story was that it was presented as 'oh you don't know who you are! you'll change!'#and i was never listened to until i went 'so far' in my transness that changing was impractical...#...it never enforced that my sense of self is dynamic but that who i was is something to be 'fixed'#i think a lot of queer people are hostile to the idea of gender/sexuality fluidity because it's framed in such a way...#...that tells them that their queerness will eventually be 'cured'...#...so any notion of 'identity can be fluid' reads like 'your queerness is a flaw and a horrible thing'...#...but that's not the solution to people whose identity has fluctuated and changed...#...it isn't their fault that queerphobes latched onto them as 'case studies' to prove that queerness is curable...#...a queerphobe would latch onto ANYTHING in order to prevent you from living...#...'oh lesbians married men in order to protect themselves? why can't you do that?! why must you insist on marrying a woman?!'...#...that's an example of how they'd just latch onto something else if 'identity is dynamic' didn't exist#the context of 'identity is dynamic' is often one of the most important factors in if it is meant as queer-afirming or not ime

PRIDE MONTH QUOTE 1 OF 3 Thursday, June 1, 2023
We're sick of hearing people say, 'That band is so gay,' or 'Those guys are fags.' Gay is not a synonym for shitty. If you wanna say something's shitty, say it's shitty. Stop being such homophobic assholes. - Pete Wentz

You know, I am really very... BEYOND disappointed in New Zealand for how my friend Aubrey Ngata has turned out.
I will NEVER forgive her no-good, abusive parents and siblings for mistreating and taking advantage of her.
If they hadn't, she might have gotten the attention and love she needed to become the best version of herself!
But no, people say "Oh, she's such an easy target for how much she hurts other people!" - let me ask you this.
If YOU yourself were beset by her own circumstances in life, wouldn't YOU want to lash out at the world?!
Wouldn't YOU deserve a form of justice or recompense for the wrongs people do out of ignorance or spite?!
I say to you, my fellow internet denizens, "Let those who are GENUINELY sinless cast first stone of judgment!".
But those who say they want Aubrey to suffer, die or just be miserable forever - they are now on my shitlist.
This is now directed at all those who abused Aubrey Ngata of Wellington, New Zealand in real life now.
DID ANYONE IN THIS WORLD STOP TO THINK THAT SHE HAS FEELINGS, HOPES AND DREAMS TOO?!
DO ANY OF YOU THINK AT ALL?!
I honestly now can barely care what anyone says about me personally anymore.
Go ahead and talk shit about me to my face or behind my back.
At least SOMEBODY in this world should have the patience and love to care about her besides herself!
SOMEBODY should give her the care, attention and love she needs - EVEN IF she doesn't want or deserve it!
Gods, you make it sound like she's rotten to the core like Mathilda May's "Space Girl" from 1985's Lifeforce!
But the more I think about it... and I would like to think of myself as one of the most genuine guys I know...
She needs not mockery, pity or hatred if we're to survive in this fucked up world of ours.
She needs a Coach Rita Desjardin/Collins and Sue Snell for her Carrie White!
A Dr. Frederick Treeves for her Joseph/John Merrick the Elephant Man!
A SOMEBODY who WON'T STOP TRYING to help Aubrey to love, happiness and success in life!
Being that would like to consider myself the most genuine guy in the States I would know today, my heart breaks for Aubrey and all young people having to suffer due to society fearing and hating what they cannot grasp or control.

My issue with the “Who else would be in charge? Steve?”/“You know, Steve’s grown a lot” exchange is that there are two main possibilities for how we’re supposed to read it, neither of which really make sense:
Steve is no longer a cruel bully like he was in S1, but Jonathan believes he still is. Steve is obviously no longer a cruel bully—he apologized for his actions at the end of S1 and is kind to children/lesbians—but the idea that Jonathan still thinks he’s like that is frankly absurd, and I don’t know why Nancy would think he meant that. They’re not close, but he presumably heard the beginning of Steve’s apology to him. He’s been present on many of the occasions that Steve has helped fight various UD threats. He was charitable, apparently to the point of dishonesty, in recounting Steve’s actions at the Halloween party to Nancy. He never expresses worry about Steve hanging out with Nancy/his family/the kids. He never says that Steve is mean or violent. If he truly thinks Steve is a bad guy, he’s been extremely circumspect and blasé about it.
Steve is smarter/less of a goober than he was in the past, but Jonathan still thinks he’s stupid/a big goober. I think it’s pretty clear that Jonathan thinks Steve is kind of a dope. He suggests that it’d be absurd for Steve to be in charge (something you would say of a dim-witted person, not a mean one) and I think also scoffs at him saying something silly once in S2. However, Steve, while not unintelligent, is kind of a ditz, and if anything has become more of one since S1. I don’t know why Nancy would think he’d become smarter than when they’d dated.
There are also two outside possibilities that make a little more sense:
Jonathan specifically means that Steve is ill-suited to a leadership role re: UD stuff because historically he’s not been proactive about it, and Nancy means that Steve was more proactive this time around. This would be a very specific thing for Jonathan to mean, and a slightly exaggerated positive evaluation of Steve’s response on Nancy’s part (he’s not as receptive to Nancy’s concerns or requests as he could be).
Nancy’s response isn’t really about Steve at all. She’s just needling Jonathan because she knows something’s up and is pissed off that he won’t tell her. This isn’t very nice, but it’s understandable that she’d be frustrated.
#i will not be gaslighted into thinking jonathan thinks steve’s still a bully#or that steve’s not a goober#there’s also the whole side argument of ‘Jonathan thinks Steve is still homophobic’#which (a) it’s 1986 and he has a gay little brother#if he’s smart he thinks everyone is homophobic until proven otherwise#even if Steve hadn’t been homophobic at him in S1 he’d be smart to worry#and (b) does anyone truly think Jonathan meant Steve’s homophobia prevented him from being a good leader?#yeah Nancy I appreciate that he has skills but I’m concerned about the impact on our DEI initiative#idk is the logic here that Jonathan would never snark at Steve if he knew what a good guy he was?#because characters who are much better friends with Steve also snark at him
