Kk so, we know now that Chuuya can hear Dazai since he reacted to his taunting/getting provoked and that if he touches him the vampirism would get nullified.

And I might be wrong in this one, cause im no expert nor have experience w guns/getting shot or similar but I think Chuuya was using his ability on the gun/bullets, because I dont think normal bullets would leave a crater that big in a place like Mersmault. (I will never know how to write it-)

I think it goes by way too fast for his ability to activate.

Like, we've seen for example in s1 when Akutagawa uses Rashomon on Dazai during the Dungeon scene, Rashomon actually touches him but then gets nullified.

But it's because the ability was still touching him, the bullet, instead, went through him and hit the wall.

But then, what about the bullet that went through his forehead?

Again, no expert lol, but from what I know, a bullet through the forehead is instant death, but Dazai can still talk just a few panels after.

What I think is that he isn't dead yet, but could soon die if not treated soon, afterall, not only he has multiple gunshots, but also has multiple broken bones from his fall in the elevator.

I think Chuuya had some kind of self control and when he pointed at Dazai at point blank range, instead of shifting the gravity of the bullet for it to go faster/stronger (?) , since he was close to Dazai already, I think he made it go at a speed that wouldn't be deadly but still look like he didn't use his ability. (?)

Something similar to what happened in the first light novel.

I haven't actually finished reading Dazai's entrance exam (still at pg 87 ;_;) , but I decided to check a part of it I haven't read yet.

The part were Kunikida shoots Dazai.

I think the context was that Dazai made it look like he was the Azure King and it led to Kunikida shooting him at point blank range, but with the gun he created with his ability.

Kunikida had 2 guns. The one given by the agency and the one he made with his ability.

And he used the later.

After a few moments, when Kunikida learns Dazai was just faking being dead, he asks about the situation and a bit I'm interested on was this

I take the pistol I shot earlier and toss it at Dazai. He catches it, and almost instantly, it transforms back into a piece of notebook paper in his hand. (Pg. 129)

"Almost instantly".

The bullet did hit Dazai, but since this one goes at a normal speed/force, No Longer Human can act on it and nullify the bullet while at the same time having time to make it look real.

Something similar happens in chapter 109. Except Chuuya can alter the speed/force.

If Chuuya had shot the same way he did to Dazai's shoulder, the bullet would've perfored right through his skull and hit the wall like the others. But instead Dazai has the bullet on his forehead.

It wasn't fast enough like the others to not let time NLH to activate.

long rant on why bunny duo WILL happen

If you can’t tell I am going insane (spoiler warning/leak mention)

1: Merchandise/Logos

As I’m sure your aware, WanPre’s logo scheme corresponds to just about every single Cure:

Pink for Komugi/Wonderful, Purple for Iroha/Friendy, Green for Mayu/Lillan, and Blue for Yuki/Nyammy. This leaves us two colors left: orange and yellow, just enough to fulfill another duo.

The colors don’t just stop at the logo, either.

A special shout out to the daily satoru blog for finding this out (I never could have!), but Mayu’s ribbons also similarly match up with this.

Again, two colors are left, an Orange-Yellow color and White, just enough for our bunny duo!

These buttons are also similar: notice the outer colors and the inner colors. The outer colors on the owners correspond with their pets theme color (Mayu is Blue, Iroha is Pink, which fits with Yuki and Komugi) and the opposite for their pets.

By this, we can assume that Daifuku could be a White or Grey Cure, and Satoru could be a Yellow or Orange cure.

This ones already been mentioned, but again, the yellow/white colors!

..And even more buttons. Almost all merch featuring Satoru and Daifuku is either Yellow/Orange, or White/Grey. I’m not going to list everything ever here, but check out the Precure Wiki for more merchandise listings.

2: Daifuku is an anomaly (lol)

If you are unaware, Daifuku is a huge character for merchandising from WanPre. According to the wiki, out of all of the mascots, Daifuku has sold out much, much quicker and is well-received by fans.

Also, in WPC23.. do I have to explain this screen shot? Yuki just straight up calls him not ordinary.

But, she is right. Out of all the animals we’ve seen in the show, besides the Cures and the Kirarin Animals, none have the same proportions Daifuku does. And we know he isn’t a Kirarin animal (lacking the gem), so you can assume he’s a future Cure.

Also, as of WP24, Daifuku (and Satoru) has been to Niko Garden. Not sure if that strengths the point, but yeah.

Daifuku’s movie character: note how again, only the Cures in their animal form have the wristband (Komugi and Yuki.)

And, some card listings that were leaked a while ago:

This one is pretty self-explanatory: there’s 1 more slot for a Cure (or maybe a movie exclusive character) on these cards.

And as of recently, we have seen both of them together on one card in merchandise: it’s possible they both could be a Cure, just on one card.

And last but not least..

There’s 1 more spot for a Cure, or a duo! 3. Other things

Although I do agree the ending doesn’t leave much room for more cures, know that we still might get another ending. Mahou Tsukai and Kira had 3 endings, and Star Twinkle even had 4.

The point is, it’s not too late to call it quits! We have had cures introduced later too: Majesty’s first appearance was in 31. We still have hope. Probably. I’m also probably going insane.

We also can have another ‘Black Pepper’ which personally I think is going to happen— Daifuku will be a white colored Cure and Satoru will be a orange or yellow colored Black Pepper like hero.

Plus, we haven’t had a series without a mid season or additional warrior since Smile, which was 12 years ago. It’s pretty unlikely that’ll happen again.

And it’s not like there is anyone else who can be a mid season besides these two. Unless you count like.. MeyMey but that’s really unlikely lol.

(Against some popular theories: I think it wouldn’t make sense for Niko to be a cure, as not only as she (?) doesn’t fit the orange/white/yellow scheme (based off the Niko leaks), but they aren’t apart of a duo like Mayu and Yuki, Iroha and Wonderful, Satoru and Daifuku..

Plus, in WPC24, notice how Niko’s egg only glows after both Satoru and Daifuku are touching the egg. )

According to some posts I’ve seen on the wiki, ratings for the show actually drop if they don’t have a mid season or additional warrior— having one apparently does better for merchandise sales and reviews in general. Take this with a grain of salt, however. I have no idea if this is true, but I believe it. Plus, with Cure Wing being generally well-received, it’s not impossible that we can have more male cures in the future.

Dionysus' iceberg

This post is what remains of an initially very long rant idea. That means there will probably be a part 2 😏.

Here's the reason for my title :

In theory, you can stop there since my meme pretty much summarizes my complaints. But since I like ranting, I'll continue 😈

The tip of the iceberg

When you think "Dionysus", which words come in mind first ?

Probably "wine", "party", "alcohol" "fun god".

These words are what most people remember about Dionysus. And yes, I'm not going to deny, they fit.

Unfortunately, my problem comes with the fact that 9.5 times out of 10, Dionysus' personality will exclusively revolve around these aspects.

Since the issue is about modern adaptations and perceptions, I'll use a modern term.

I'm sure most of you are familiar with flanderization, right ? If not, the link to TV Tropes' article on the subject is available.

Many adaptations fell into that trap for, I think, every single Olympian.

Hades, god of the dead, lord of the Underworld = Satan, evil death god, darkness and sorrow

Aphrodite, goddess of love and beauty = Superficial bimbo who only cares about her pretty face

Zeus, king of the gods, lord of the sky and thunder = 100% pure God OR more recently : evil king god who constantly abuses women.

The gods are stripped of their complexity to fit simpler and more "digestible" characterizations. It doesn't help that the cultural context surrounding them is also taken away...

But this is about grape boi, right? Well, Dionysus is no exception to that rule. In fact, he might be one of the worst cases.

So far, he was never really portrayed in an "insulting" light, like Apollo in Lore Olympus or Hades in the Percy Jackson movie. Fortunately.

But, from all the popular adaptations I've seen, none of them manage to portray Dionysus ! None ! Does that make them automatically bad ? No, of course. It's just something I noticed.

God of war ? Doesn't appear, only mentioned

Disney ? Don't even try 🤣. Just a drunk goofball. Yes, that includes the fantasia segment and Hercules.

Lore Olympus? Well, he's a baby for 99.99999% of the time, so it doesn't count. But he's still a quiet little Gucci bag for Persephone.

Hades I ? Just a nice guy. But hey ! He can give us useful boons ! And I like his sass.

Maybe he'll do more in Hades II. They're usually more accurate than most, right ? Though that's not a very high bar. And they know about Zagreus ! Surely that's a good sign, right ?

Nevermind...

Here's what all these adaptations tell us :

Dionysus is the god of wine, feasts and parties

He's an Olympian

He likes to get drunk and party 🥳

And that's it.

Again, I'm not blaming anyone, but if the myths stopped with those three points, wouldn't everyone wonder why he's even an Olympian ? I sure did when I was a kid.

We have the god of thunder, the goddess of wisdom and war strategy, god of music/arts/medicine/100 other things, the god of the oceans ! Many cool gods !

And some drunk dude. He's not given any particular power, except the power to stay super passive no matter the stakes ! If the story revolves about epic godly fights (which is often the case), he's absolutely useless.

Heck, Hades II even actively depicts him as a pacifist who can't handle war. While he's not physically a weakling, he sure psychologically is.

Why is this a problem ?

I am not going to beat around the bush: this gives us a very incomplete and incorrect perception of the god.

Even the things that aren't forgotten about him (like his link to wine) aren't explored.

The thing with Hades II (that's the last time I'll mention it) is that it tries to deepen the flanderized version of Dionysus. He's not stupid, but afraid. He drinks to forget his issues.

While this characterization can be very interesting taken separately, we must remember that this isn't an OC, but an interpretation of a cultural figure.

It must be accurate ! While I can accept some liberties, I think that those should mostly be an extension of the original material, not a total deviation.

Dionysus isn't a scared little boi or a stupid drunkard you can manipulate. In fact, that's quite the opposite. And he's not afraid to get his hands dirty.

(even if the "dirt" in question is the blood of his enemies).

I think I’m like 95% certain that like everything so far indicates to me that they’re not writing Marisol to stay

Like first of all I’m pretty sure tim flat out said he didn’t originally want her back and that he just didn’t want two offscreen break ups in s7 and Natalia’s actress couldn’t come back

Like he’s made his disdain abt the end of s6 VERY clear

He then turns around and puts no effort into making Marisol even appear like she MIGHT stay because he gives her no last name, no personality and what can only be referred to as a gag as her main storyline

And then he has bobby flat out call Eddie out and say that he hasn’t said anything/ spoke about her in a way that makes him think he wants her to move in and that he has no trouble committing to other things so what is REALLY the issue (her) I mean Eddie fumbled with understanding bobby again but it’s the thought that counts🤷🏽‍♀️

Plus I think they are WELL aware of the fans opinions of edy so from a purely business perspective- if an actress who is not a series regular or even a significant character and whatever form of contract you have with her is presumably coming to an end and she’s causing you trouble and getting you bad publicity you will cut her at the first opportunity (and you would be very dumb not to, ESPECIALLY FOR ONE YOU DIDN’T WANT IN THE FIRST PLACE)

Also on a more general note the stills are almost ALWAYS a red herring that make 20+ theories and 100+ rants and then turn out to be something completely and utterly different so until we actually see content in the episodes that indicate to us that Marisol even stands a chance to stay fr then I’m gonna continue to believe that one day soon I’ll be free from seeing edy’s stupid transphobic face on my screen with her annoying voice that puts Janice from friends to shame

I feel like I've said this before but I want to make a full post about it. You're not supposed to hate any fnaf characters except from William. (Very long rant under the cut).

William is quite literally the face of evil in this universe, you're not supposed to like him or feel bad for him because he continuously does terrible things and he feels no guilt from doing them. Practically every other character has suffered his abuse in one way or another, sure he's had moments where he's been depressed, he had to deal with the death of his children, but he doesn't deserve your pity or sympathy. You can like him because he's a well-written character or villain, but I genuinely don't understand people who actually like the guy. I fucking hate him and I would like to sentence him to a thousand hells.

Now allow me to go over the other fnaf characters I see getting hated on that absolutely don't deserve it whatsoever.

Michael. Believe it or not there are some people who don't like him. He is continuously abused, neglected and manipulated by William. He's a victim, just like every other character I will list here. Just because he did something stupid and awful doesn't make him any less of a victim. I honestly don't think the bite would have happened at all if William had just paid closer attention to his children, I'm not entirely taking the blame off of Michael but it's something to consider. He likely did it for attention and it's very obvious he had no idea what would actually happen. After that he mainly only does good things to make up for this. He goes to find Elizabeth despite knowing there's very little chance of her being there, he tries to burn William in the fazbear frights fire to stop him from harming anyone else and he works with Henry to free the remaining souls in the pizzeria sim fire. It might just be me bc I'm a massive Michael fan but the hate is undeserved.

Elizabeth. Holy shit this one actually pisses me off so much!! There's way more Elizabeth haters than there are Michael haters (this probably partly has to do with her being a girl) and I don't understand it all. I actually don't believe she is Williams favourite at all, she is the only one who is canonically shown being abused by him and people somehow take this as her being the favourite?? I also don't believe William made Baby for her, he just said he did so nobody would find out the real reason he made the funtimes. She's not a spoiled brat, Scrap Baby practically proves this. Why would she be so desperate to make her father proud of her if he didn't constantly neglect her and make her feel like she's not enough? Also, she's a child. I don't really have time to explain the Baby and Elizabeth are separate theory so I'm only gonna count her actions as Scrap Baby here. She obviously had intent to kill Michael in pizzeria sim, which isn't a good thing but keep in mind she's been trapped in this metal body for so long she's hardly herself anymore. My point is the hate is undeserved and I love this complex gal so much. Stfu if you hate Elizabeth Afton.

Cassidy. This one makes a little bit more sense to me but I still ultimately hate this take. I've heard people say that they're just as bad as William which is pretty fucking hilarious actually. Tbh if I got murdered and stuck in a robot suit forever I'd be on that hate game as well. Once again, victim. They were literally murdered by that man. I honestly don't think that they thought Michael was William, afterall they hate him so much that they'd probably remember his face very clearly. I like the idea that Evan was just like "Oh shit that's my older brother, he killed me. Don't try to kill him though because it was an accident.' and they were like 'Ok.' and then tried to kill him anyway because they can't imagine not wanting to get revenge on your killer. William deserved everything that they made him go through in ultimate custom night, though I agree with "Leave the demon to his demons" and I'm glad they decided to let all the souls rest. Overall, undeserving of hate, that's a traumatised child. Same goes for all the other missing children.

Those were all I could think of for know but let me know any other characters you see get a lot of hate. I hope this brought some sense to any Michael, Elizabeth or Cassidy haters out there. Feel free to reblog with your own opinions, even if you disagree I'd like to hear your takes.

He never thought that this would happen, but so did you.

One moment, he was talking with you right before the race - you were smiling, grinning even, laughing at something silly he said. He found it awfully cute how you would always slide your tongue out to lick your lips when you were trying to put a stop your laughter - to which he always resisted to just... Poke it. He was never that impulsive, but you were adorable enough to bring that side out of him.

The next, he was driving by a crumpled up car, covered by smoke. Which turned out to be, unfortunately, yours. People swore that they had never seen someone get out of their car at the speed Jenson did. He still remembers getting to hold your almost motionless body in his arms, your light threatening to fade away. But you fought throught it, with him right by your side - at first he swore that the break he's taking is only 'till you get better. But even when you did, he stayed. And, at the end of the season, he announced his early retirement. All these years later, he's still right by your side.

"Mmm, yes. I suppose you're right." He answers you in a voice that feels like a deep rumble, with a small, warm smile on his lips. He was sat with a laptop on his lap, and you cuddled up right into his side, reading a book, ranting away about all the different theories that appeared in your brain. You havent been feeling well for the past couple of days, at all. And you both knew what this meant - a seizure. Its just that neither of you knew when - so he let you cuddle up to him and be clingy. Not that he doesnt do that on a daily basis already.

"He gifted her the bee tights, Jenson. The damn tights. Tell me he's not in love with her, I dare you." your determined voice shoots back at him, earning a hearty chuckle out of Jenson. He found your rants adorable - he could listen to them anytime, anywhere. Your passion levels for the smallest things could get to insane heights, and he admired that.

He carries on with his work, and you - with reading the book. You loved the book, really. So much that you found yourself reading it for the third time.

Slowly, but surely, you felt your ability to focus slip away, the words on the page merging and melting away. You grew more and more confused, your anxiety spiking up as well. Your muscles stiffened - you were starting to feel like you couldnt move.

Jenson doesnt notice immediately, but still pretty quickly - he realises that you have stopped talking, like youre not even there anymore. He furrows his eyebrows ever so slighty, and peels his eyes away from the screen to glance at you - his heart sinks as he sees that familiar look in your eyes. The seizure finally caught up to you.

The laptop quickly gets abandoned as he puts it away on the coffee table by the couch, his hand immediately going up to your forehead to check your temperature. Your skin felt cold to the touch, but he knew better than that. You were about to burn up.

With a quiet sigh, he takes the book out of your hands (he knew how upset you got if you ever lost a page). He's careful not to hurt you or trigger anything else as he shifts you onto his lap, now letting your body lay on top of his fully, pulling your head to his chest. He knew that all he could do was wait it out, and he did - but he couldnt help but think that he could do something else to make this all better. Something more. He looks at you with the admiration in his eyes he has always had, rubbing your back gently. This felt comfortable, this felt familiar. What once was scary and uncomfortable became a huge part of his routine.

Eventually, you start coming back from it. You're not even fully present right now, but he can see the signs - your neck twitching ever so slightly, and you starting to blink again. You take a sudden breath in as you become even more present - for the last few moments of the seizure you even stopped breathing. Which wasnt new, so it was nothing to think about too much.

Jenson could tell that something was off about this one though - you looked way too pale. Too weak. Your movements didnt resume to normal immediately after. And, before he knew it, a tear ran down his cheek. Then another. A few must have dropped on your face - because you slowly turned your head to look at him. You find yourself leaning against his shoulder, your face right by his neck. You never grew tired of seeing his face out of nowhere - it almost felt like teleportation.

Youre still looking up at him, your gaze slipping to his eyes. As much as you hated to see him cry... God, was he such a pretty crier. This time, only his eyes had that slight glimmer from the moisture. But the other times... The ones that left his eyes a little red, soaked, and puffy, his hair messy, and the constant sniffing... it sounded too strange to voice out loud, but it looked so gorgeous.

You stare at him for a few more seconds, all those thoughts running through your brain. If you ever had a brilliant idea, it wasnt near as good as the one you pulled right now - youre now gently kissing his tears away. You kiss his face on each and every spot that you see a tear on. The wetness of them coats your dry lips, and the saltiness of them burns ever so slightly. But you cant bring yourself to care - if that meant that youll get to see him smile.

And he does - he feels your soft, warm lips all over his face, and the feeling brings a warm, wide smile out of him. The feeling to him felt like no other - you were usually pretty aggressive with the way you kiss, so this was a stark contrast. In the most positive way possible. He felt a little bad though - you were the one that needed the comfort and his support, but here you were - attacking him with the soft kisses.

You notice a tear you managed to miss earlier roll onto his lips - and you stare at them for a few seconds too long. He lets out a soft chuckle, and plants a tender kiss onto your own. It felt right.

You'll be alright.

(please excuse my English I actually speak German) hello, huge Fiona fox fan here I have been reading lots of your rants about fiona, on how her character had lots more potential and that her relationship with scourge is heavily abusive (on which I really agree btw) and since their not many fiona fans here I just wanted to ask you since I literally have no one to talk to. In sonic the hedgehog issue 179 on page 14 sonic says a specific line dialogue that's been driving me crazy. He explains to tails that he hooked up with Fiona hoping that he would move on, but ALSO because he was still getting over Sally stating that "Fiona was there*. Which kind of feels like that even if Fiona had genuine feelings for sonic he would have been still thinking about her. Now I am really wondering could this be a reason Fiona cheated on him, since she felt again like getting burned? We never saw the process of Fiona meeting secretly with scourge, but I heavily theory that A. He could have lied to her at a lot of points and B. That just maybe he could have told her about sonic maybe not truly loving her. Either all of that is true or I'm just going crazy but what's your opinion?

You're right about that, while Sonic says his primary motivation for getting together with Fiona was his terrible plan to help Tails, it's also pretty apparent that Fiona is a rebound girl for him. The timing of when the relationship started is much too obvious for that: He and Fiona start their relationship in Issue 155, the same one where Sally's forced marriage to Patch is announced. I have no doubt that this information stirred up all of Sonic's hurt feelings from Issue 134 and drove him toward the course of action he took.

Now, that doesn't justify what he did, what he did is still an awful thing to do to someone, but it does explain it a little better.

I don't think Fiona knew what was going on in Sonic's head during their relationship. If she did, she almost certainly would've brought that up as a point against him, instead of only referring to her traumatic backstory.

(Sidenote: I think her betrayal makes a lot more sense if you reorder some of the stories in the 170s so that Eggman's attack on Knothole comes first, and reopens all of her old wounds. Then it makes total sense for her to snap and accuse Sonic of being too weak- instead of a dumb "I think being good is weak and being evil is strong!" logic that so many shallow villains have, she actually has a point, and an obvious example, that after everything Eggman did to them, a repeat of what Robotnik did to her, the FF still let him go when they easily could've captured or killed him)

That said, I think it's likely that Fiona realised she was a rebound and this pushed her closer to accepting Scourge's advances.

I think Scourge lying to her should be taken as given. Probably about Sonic, definitely about himself. However, I don't think he knew for sure how Sonic felt, simply because Scourge doesn't understand Sonic at all, ironically enough. We can see as much from his attempt at a "One bad day" speech, he fully believes that Sonic is only a bad day away from turning out like Scourge himself did, but Sonic has arguably had a rougher life than Scourge ever did. We've seen him have plenty of bad days and never once has he turned into Scourge.

Scourge thinks everyone is worse than they actually are, in essence. I have no doubt that he presents his flawed perception of everyone to Fiona, why else would she, a character who owes her whole life to the support she's received from other people (first Nic, then the FF) suddenly turn around and declare that "You can't count on anybody?"

It's an idea that fits so little with what we know of her character and history that it more than likely came from someone else, like the known liar and manipulator she's suddenly 'romantically' entangled with.

That said, him not knowing about how Sonic felt doesn't mean he can't tell Fiona that Sonic doesn't love her. He is, after all, a liar, and likely playing to Fiona's fears and anxieties. If he realises that Fiona believes Sonic is using her as a rebound, he would absolutely have agreed with the notion despite not knowing whether it was true or not.

This is part of what frustrates me with Fiona's character: There's the pieces here to make something absolutely fantastic with her, and Archie just... didn't do that. Her existence pre-155 is largely an afterthought, from 155-171 she's "Sonic's shady girlfriend" and then post-172 she's "Scourge's girlfriend", and that's all she's allowed to be. Even her one outing as an independent villain (with her own team, because of course the character who believes you can't trust anyone has immediately gone and gotten herself another team) turns out to be setup for her getting Scourge back.

Whether you prefer her as a hero, villain, or somewhere in the middle, Fiona has enormous potential as a character, and Archie never used it.

HOW EPITHETS WORK:

BASICALLY ive come to the conclusion that depending on how general or specific a word is when it comes to an Epithet, the more 'powers' you have (which ive deducted is part of the creativity portion of the epithet reveal card)

For example, if you had an Epithet thats very specific to one thing, like Blizzard, Barrier, etc, you can only do that one thing and thats your whole deal. But if the word is way more general, like Winter, Protection, etc, the more the person can do.

I also dont think hyphenated words count for Epithets, since its technically a 2 in 1? Which I would say isnt fair, but then again Zora is super fucking op for no reason. But I do doubt that someone could get Immortality as their epithet.

I think in the lore you're born with your Epithet, but the way the "word tied to your soul" thing works is kind of like a Witch's bile sac in TOW (with the sac being the word you get your magic from)

FOR THE EPITHET REVEAL CARDS:

I've done a fair share of thinking and eventually came to a few conclusions that all depend on both DND stats and common sense

Proficiency: Strength, Molly made a comment abt Mera and Indus having REALLY high Proficiency, Id i were to look at this from a dnd perspective, Proficiency is a bonus to one skill, which doesn't exactly make sense in the context

Stamina: How long you can last in battle, this just feels obvious tbh

Creativity: I'm torn on this one, cuz I'm thinking its either how many moves a person with an epithet can have OR how interesting/how much thought is put into their movesets. But im leaning more towards the second option since my first theory i technically disproved myself

ERASER CUFFS:

Ok im gonna be honest, the whole way Eraser cuffs work is stupid. Just.... forgetting the Epithet? That raises more questions then answers for me, the ending of episode 7 shouldnt have been possible considering what couldve happened in episode 5 (when Mera and Indus got arrested)

And how does Percy remember her Epithet stamina??? Look, I understand RAMSEY remembering HER Epithet, but I think I have a better idea;

Basically, the cuffs click onto your wrists (feels like a spike color) and it locks off your Epithet until the cuffs come off. After that its a few minute delay to get your Epithet flow back, since its connected to your heart and normally body parts take a while to get blood circulation if cut off, Epithet circulation is gonna be like that too.

"BUT NOAH!!! IF THATS YOUR LOGICAL REASONING WHAT ABT THE ARSENE AMULET?"

For me; it'd work in a similar way, its just that when the cuffs are removed your Epithet comes back. In the case of the Arsene amulet, I say an Epithet user gets their cool powers sucked out from the chest area (Mera did that with Slyvie in ep 4) and then the sac, and the word in it just- schwoop! Gone!

Of course, because of plot, you can get it back. But I have a feeling it has a limit on how many Epithets it can hold before it expells yours. And also before your body just- straight up deflates/gives out from all the Epithets. Pretty sure you can only handle ONE considering it's a ONE WORD ABILITY!!!!!!!

He's also muslim, though (because believe it or not queer Muslims exist) so he probably doesn't celebrate Halloween or do anything for it besides hand out candy to the kids because long story short, he can't stand the neighbors being better than him at the candy giving.

If Asra would happen to celebrate any holiday during October though, it would be Mawlid if the date happened to fall in October.

But if he had a partner, he would probably help them with their costume or get decorations for them since he wants them to be happy in celebrating Halloween.

Will probably watch bad Halloween movies just to laugh at them because it's so obviously fake.

She makes sure to throw other parties for other holidays too, though.

Admittedly, she's not able to resist getting Halloween candy despite not celebrating the holiday, and ends up with a chamber full of lots of candy.

She also likes watching Halloween movies-- but only bad ones, because ones that are actually scary make her insomniac.

Halloween is his SHIT.

He might be Jewish, but it turned into a whole thing with Asra when he started making Halloween dinners for his friends, and now his goal the entire month of October is to throw as many good dinner parties as he can just to be the best.

(kosher dinner parties, of course.)

He's definitely festive and celebrates Halloween even though it isn't Jewish, and will most likely decorate his house overnight after drinking too much coffee.

Loves the Halloween sugar cookies at a bakery, and they're kosher, so he can actually eat them.

He's known for having the best candy on the block. He literally sorts them by bowl and greets the kids by going "Hey kiddos! What y'all need? Kosher? Halal? Non-Gmo? Non dairy? I got it all!"

Halloween turns into a competition for him and on midnight of November first he sleeps for thirteen hours straight and wakes up thinking it's already time for Hannukah.

They will literally douse the dungeons in spiderwebs and cackle at night just for fun, and because they know it wakes everyone up.

If some poor children have the mistake of wandering into the dungeons as they trick or treat, Valdemar will most definitely be seen pacing on the ceiling in thought. Their neck bends 360 and they scare away any trick or treaters before they have the chance to offer them their 'healthy candy'.

Their healthy candy is simply toothpaste. In a jar. They love to see the looks of horror when they bring it out.

They'll probably leave the spiderwebs year round, to be honest. They like the look of them.

Big Bend Chapter Twenty - Doubts

I lay on my bed, staring at the ceiling. I wasn’t totally sure why, really. I considered getting up, then decided against that upon remembering how tired I was.

My sister had said I’d get used to the relatively shorter days and nights on Earth, but that apparently had yet to happen. Nothing like going from 16 hours of sleep to 7 (on a good night) to make you question your decisions.

Not like I didn’t do a lot of that already, I thought. Recently I’d been doing more of it, though. Namely, questioning my decision in job. And decision to come live on Earth overall. I’d liked working as a park ranger back on Aphiria, I really had. It was fun getting to talk to visitors about nature. Getting to see new places whenever I worked a season at a different park.

I’d been excited to come to Earth for both of those reasons (and countless others, to be honest). Earth had long been fascinating to me. Even more so after I’d met Ruby, Kyle, and Larissa. Plus, it’d seemed like a chance to actually help do something important - strengthening relations with another planet we had previously barely communicated with. On paper, it seemed like a great decision.

And I wouldn’t say I didn’t like Earth, or my job, or my coworkers, but things were definitely turning out way more complicated than I’d expected.

Maybe my dad was onto something calling me naive, I thought, frowning.

There was the biggest - no pun intended - issue of how I was comparatively giant to everything and everyone around me here. I had spent time with humans before, but that had been on Aphiria, where they had been the ones that didn’t “fit in”. I hadn’t expected Earth to feel quite so isolating. Or continuously anxiety inducing - I felt like I was constantly on alert to make sure I didn’t end up damaging a building, or a car. Or, god forbid, hurting someone. It really didn’t help matters that a good portion of humans seemed at least partially convinced that aphirials were man-eating giants.

Then there was how I really worked less as an interpretive ranger and more as an entertainer, at this point. Half the visitors didn’t even seem interested in the park - just in taking a picture with me. Which I could understand, given that there weren’t really any other aphirials in even semi-public facing jobs on Earth, and this was probably a lot of human’s chance to meet one of us. It was still a little disappointing, given how many cool features the park had to offer.

And then there was how Dave possibly, probably hated me. That had been plaguing my mind recently almost as much as the first issue, despite being far less important logically. Like, sometimes people didn’t like you, right? I’d known plenty of people who hadn’t in the past. My own father, for one. So I wasn’t entirely sure why I was so caught on Dave disliking me.

All of my doubts with my current situation had only increased ten fold after the man had stopped by with his rant about me and Aphiria a week prior. I had, in true anxious mess fashion, later gone to the internet. I guess I was curious about what he’d been ranting about. I figured maybe I could understand him better. All I really succeeded in doing was crying into my pillow, after reading numerous “theories” about how not only were aphirials killing humans, but also me specifically.

Another fun perk of being pretty much the only aphirial on Earth.

I had, of course, tried to repeatedly tell myself I was being dramatic, and it didn’t really matter what random people on the internet came up with. And then I’d read another post about how I was apparently responsible for multiple missing hikers (that hadn’t even come to Big Bend), and the government was covering it up, and then went back to crying.

The worst part was that I felt like I couldn’t even really be upset that humans felt that way or thought that way, because it wasn’t like their fears were totally unfounded. Not that I would ever try to hurt anyone, of course. But I was taller than some of their buildings. I did have fangs, and claws (before I’d filed them down). I had, at one point in time, even been praised for my hunting skills of small animals on Aphiria. All that to say, I guessed I would have also been wary if the tables were turned.

The one brief highlight recently was when I’d been sitting outside the other night, and met Zoey. I was still a bit confused about that entire encounter, but in a refreshingly good way, at least. She knew what aphirials were, it seemed like, but hadn’t seemed at all concerned to see me. And she’d been surprised to learn I worked at the park, which meant from her perspective, she’d just…stumbled upon a giant in the middle of the night and decided to strike up on a conversation.

I heard my phone buzz, pulling from my admittedly melodramatic thoughts. I rolled over, looking at it. There was a notification from Angie. After she’d asked me if I had snapchat, she’d also asked to add me. I’ll admit I probably felt way more excited than necessary at that - like I said, Earth had felt isolating. Being on a literally different planet from all of your friends was more than a little lonely. I opened the snapchat message.

“Do u want to go stargazing again tonight?”

I also felt way more excited than necessary reading the invite. Excited enough to actually sit up from where I’d been laying for the past hour or so. Maybe I’d actually manage to make friends here yet.

Or maybe you’re being naive and stupid, again. I could practically hear my dad’s voice in my head. I shook my head, trying to push that thought away.

nina. i can see why people hate her- she is certainly not a great person by any means lmao. but i think it's refreshing to see a character who actually behaves realistically for the situation she's in. especially because as i remember (i...haven't brushed up on Conviction in a really, really long time lmfao) she is a teenager or at most a very, very young adult. i mean of course she doesn't act like guts or even pre-eclipse casca would. she knows she's weak, she is literally dying of syphilis or whatever the fuck it was she had, and i...i think weak people kind of HAVE to be selfish. we can't afford to be sticking our necks out for others, we'll get completely fucked lmao

The thing is, right, violence against trans people is often dismissed in two very distinct ways based on gender.

Violence against trans women is dismissed by justifying it. In the mainstream, we all know what that looks like - they're pretty blatant about it. If someone assaults a trans woman, they immediately assume it was self-defense - she must have tried to sexually assault them, obviously. If she's denied medical care, it's probably because she got belligerent, not that she was trans, though really what's the difference, ALL trans women are secretly big bullies of men deep down, and she deserved it for being such a self-destructive freak anyway, what a waste of medical resources, right?

Violence against trans men is dismissed by minimizing it. In the mainstream, this looks like writing off corrective rape and other assaults with the same old victim-blaming excuses we've always heard, or talking about our difficulty accessing transition AND gynecological care as a frivolity - "ugh, quit your whining, some people have REAL problems" - or stalwartly refusing to count us even as a footnote in discussions about the latter. It's "noooo, we're not trying to HURT you by cutting off your access to transition care, we're trying to make sure you REALLY need it, because you're CLEARLY too trend-obsessed and incompetent to be SURE about what you want for your own body." At "most affirming", it's "okay, well, if the stupid little baby girl wants to play at being a real human man, we'll play along - this means we get to hit you now, right? Men can take a hit! If you're really a man, stop whining about it, it wasn't that bad!"

And the thing is...on an intracommunity basis, we often get the same treatment, just usually dressed up in a pretty rainbow tablecloth and shoved 5 inches to the left.

We don't immediately ASSUME that a trans woman reporting an assault deserved it in a queer space - we know transphobia exists! We know people just randomly assault trans people for no other reason than being trans! Or, at least, we do in theory - but of course that doesn't always stop people here from IMMEDIATELY accepting "oh, well, I guess she was an exception" if the assailant comes and says "nuh-uh, I was just defending myself, she sexually harassed me!" Never mind that we know damned well that many people's threshold for what they think constitutes "sexual harassment" coming from a trans woman is "she flirted with me in a space where flirting is socially expected" or "she made a joke about her dick in an adult space where we have no problem with cis people making dick jokes" or "she spoke to me twice in the NSFW channel in this Discord server" or "she posted lewd selfies on her own personal blog while we were mutuals" or "she talked to me about an anime with more fanservice than I'm comfortable with (and THAT means she's a PEDO on top of what she did to me!)" or even just "she existed near me while trans" - that doesn't come into play, because We Should Believe Victims, right? Also, geez, I know you're being medically abused, but calm down, no one WILL treat you if you keep bellowing about it like that! Yeah, it sucks that they misgendered you and called you slurs when they fought back, but you don't SOUND like you were the victim in this altercation the way you keep ranting and raving and throwing your weight around!

And with trans men, barely ANYTHING has to change. It takes a bit of a pop-feminist bent, with "but perfectly passing and gender-conforming trans men get paid more than cis women, so clearly you are The Privileged One in this conversation" being a running assumption throughout, but despite the slightly different justification, it's...almost if not exactly the same shit on the surface. Corrective rape? Well, was it REALLY? Or did you just have sex with this person and then find out they have a slightly different opinion on some petty intracommunity issue? Because that's all the likes of you theyfab blue-hair-and-pronouns types care about anyway, is stupid arguments over terminology and ship wars, obviously. Being denied transition care? Ugh, you're sitting here whining because you can't get taxpayer-funded plastic surgery, grow up, some of us have real problems, other queer people are getting murdered in the streets and you're crying about your appearance, how selfish can you be!? Of course, most of the people who make this claim are the same ones who take the previously mentioned approach toward trans women, but let's not worry about that, right? The point is you need to shut up so we can focus on REAL issues - like this non-passing she/her multigender woman ~*~*making us all look bad*~*~ by posting lewds while non-passing being a HORRIBLE SEX PEST.

And the thing I need more people to realize is: this is bioessentialist.

Look at what's happening here. The approach taken against trans women is exactly the same one taken against most marginalized men - being stereotyped as violent, sex-crazed, not innately weak enough to ever be a VICTIM, only a LOSER. The approach taken against trans men is all the same shit we constantly hear used against women - being stereotyped as infantile, incompetent, weak, frivolous, vain, hysterical.

Once the drums drop out and the chorus starts, they’re in open air and soaring on an updraft. Once the drums return they’re back on the ground, nighttime this time, running to take off again with the starlight around them, but this time they’re more sure and take off easier. They can do loops in the air and truly soar. During the guitar solo part, they’re skimming the tops of trees and slowly going back towards the ground to do a half running half flying landing and they end up tumbling over and looking up at the moon, smile on their face. 1. Mixed feelings

Okay so first of all what the fuck. Why did they cast Cillian Murphy here. LISTEN, he did great, and that's exactly my issue. If this Scarecrow wasn't filled to the brim with potential I'd just say "it was a mistake to cast Murphy as him" and move on. HOWEVER! He slayed that role. I dare to say he saved that Scarecrow. So why... why is he that conventionally pretty? That's not Jonathan Crane at all! He's... he's an old, (beauty norms wise) ugly man! Why is he young and beautiful???

He's evil, he's perfectly sadomasochistic, perfectly curious and. and evil. okay. I like it when he's evil and a little bit out of it (<3). He's perfect on that aspect! He's great! His... his design is what bothers me so much! His ways are uncanny so even if I have my complaints it fills its role so... just... why!!! Why!!!!! Every time someone says "I don't like him, he doesn't feel like Scarecrow to me" I get it!!! I get it!!!!! I get it so much because there's something so off about him and that's so sad!! Because when you look closely... he's interesting.

He's literally so interesting. I loved reading his wiki. He's evil and manipulative and a gross little sadistic bastard. He is obsessed with fear in a way I love, just perfect for Scarecrow. He's meticulous and aesthetic-obsessed. He, in many ways, reminds me of BTAA Scarecrow, who is, in my opinion, the best one to ever exist!!!

2. What they could have done better

They had the chance to make (one of) the most queer coded Scarecrow and have a magnificent take on his appearance and his backstory.

I think this would have upset Nolan's target audience (annoying dudebros), and wouldn't have pleased many Scarecrow fans that aren't tumblr-levels of online insanity. However, it would have fixed the gap in his backstory ("why was he bullied for his appearance?"). Men are bullied for being feminine-looking, and considering his conservative southern backstory, it would be the perfect match. Skinny, pretty-faced, different from everything Nolan's movie praises: that masculinity full of roughness and violence. Something like this would create a perfect contrast between him and Nolan's Batman and could create many interesting concepts.

By creating this base, this idea of an insecurity regarding his own prettiness, one may open many interesting doors of character exploration. Does he decide to use that in his favour? How does this impact his obsession with fear? The physical aspect of this will be explored in the FLEV topic so I don't get too annoying here specifically.

Anyways! By doing this, it would surely differ from different Scarecrows, but it would still be extremely interesting! How is his love for fear connect, or how can we as an audience connect that to his queerness? The Scarecrow nickname can also be explored here very, very interestingly.

By adding this miserable detail of his bullying being because he looked FEMININE and because of any sort of queerness opens doors to many, many things.

Also just fucking use him more than a punching bag. By just reading his wiki you can find so much about him and one would just... not know? Because he is just thrown there? He's a waste of potential! He should have been a main villain in at least one movie and no the first one doesn't count because the main villain (WHO IS ALSO WASTED GREATLY!!) is Ra's.

And excuse me but this is seen as the "best adaptation" and yada yada so if they had so much power not just fucking delve better into their own characters.

Sure I'm no movie expert to say HOW they could fit all of that. But they COULD HAVE. They COULD HAVE delved into Jonathan. The potential was RIGHT THERE! Something DIFFERENT with him, and yet, they decided to go for mr pretty face that appears to be punched on the gut and disappear.

That's why people dislike the character! He could have been, he was not. Therefore, he's a pretty face. And Jonathan is not a pretty face. So it isn't Jonathan. And I get it. Because I'm also angry at what they did with him. They wasted his potential. Being different isn't a bad thing, but at least explore it!!!!!

In case you don't know what I'm talking about... this is about Attitudinal Psyche (which I keep mispelling... SORRY). It's a personality typing system, to put it very shortly. It most analyses an individual's actions regarding three aspects: Logical (L), Physical (F), Emotional (E) and Volitional (V). These can be positioned in three different huhh "places" (I suck at explaining sorry), them being: confident (1), flexible (2), insecure (3) and unbothered (4).

It's... not as simple as that, though. The names may be misleading and the way each interact with each other may be quite different from type to type. If you for some fucking reason want to know more I linked the site there.

"You believe in this stuff?"

Short answer: no.

Long answer: I believe it can't be used as a way to determine someone's personality, but a very interesting guide to it. I like the fact that it is more complex than MBTI and that therefore it is more hidden from astrology obsessed fucks that are annoying about it (like "oohh im an INFP i cant help it<3" or whatever. no one does this with AP because no one knows about it lol). It is, however, INCREDIBLY, and I mean, ABSURDELY useful when writing characters. It is very interesting when observing characters' actions and putting them in light in an almost mathematical way... Let's say it saved my ass from mischaracterization quite the amount of times.

I hope this doesn't get too big because I want to. Elaborate. So, first, let's see FLVE's (WRONG) introduction:

"FLVE is the Attitudinal Psyche type that seems the most interested in the value, worth, structure and potential power of the world that surrounds them. The FLVE appears to be protecting their right to exist wherever they desire by completely resisting any outside forces that try to manipulate or encroach on their space or personal decisions in any way. They may come off quiet, stoic, grounded, aggressive, indiscriminately blunt, immovable, shy, awkward, and even unapproachable – but will open up easily when given the chance to discuss topics related to logistics or intricate details. The FLVE seems to want control over their identity through fully theorizing and testing hypotheses of what holds the most worth or value in their lives."

I put in bold some things. It's just wrong.

I'm going to be honest, I don't even know how people came to this conclusion.

Because even if we superficially analyse the positions, it doesn't feel right. Why is he a 3V here? Superficially speaking, an insecure volition leads to people not knowing what they are, what they want to do, and desperaately want to fix it. Crane isn't... like that? He's not insecure on where his life is heading, he, in fact, doesn't seem to care much as long as it takes him to achieving his fear goals (4V).

Another one that is just weird is the 4E. Take this bit from the 4E in FLVE page as an example:

"FLVEs have a deceptive 4E, as they can appear more invested in their emotions than they are. The combination of aggressive 1F and 3V can give them an angry, reactive emotional tone but the internal experience of the FLVE is a detached devaluing of what their emotions actually mean. FLVEs rarely introspect deeply about how they feel or relate to others, and prefer to listen to feedback regarding the impressions they give off."

Just. AKSJKSKASJAK IT'S NOT HIM AT ALL!!!

He looks extremely deceptive when it comes to emotions, yes, but not because he seems... invested in them or seems to angry and reactive. It's specifically because he sees no use in expressing emotions in environments he feels as unsafe, and he sees barely any use in emotions at all so there's also that (all being very 4E). AND FEEDBACK?? THE WIKI SAYS HE WAS LITERAALLY THE MOST ANNOYING MOTHER FUCKER TO LIVE ON THAT UNIVERSITY AND HE DIDN'T GIVE A SINGLE FUCK ABOUT IT!

Okay now. Time to start explaining that, since he isn't a FLVE, then what is he?

My friend will punch me for not starting with explaining why he's on Pente Sexta but I can't find the theory bit he's referring to so uh maybe later! Just trust me when I mention the Pente Sexta quirk.

WHY IS HE A FLEV?

"FLEV is the Attitudinal Psyche type that seems the most interested in using details and logical musings to gradually transform their environment to be whatever fulfills their sensual and physical needs. The FLEV appears to be protecting their need for comfort, both psychologically and physically, through gathering data and scrutinizing its value to them personally. They may come off as hedonistic, comfort seeking, lax, immovable, heady, satirical, tasteful, picky, detail-oriented, philosophical, spiritual, mystical, or ironic if they are a particularly opinionated individual. The FLEV seems to want control over their identity through gathering and sharing information that they believe will deepen a sense of worth and value towards their lives."

NOW we're off to a better start.

At first glance, it may seem... off, inaccurate, maybe. So let's take a closer look at FLEV:

1F: "why would he have a 1F, why would he be confident on his physics" you may be wondering, my fellow Scarecrow enjoyer. Yes, it doesn't make sense AT FIRST. However! Take a look at the 1F description in FLEV:

"FLEVs have a picky and sometimes vocal relationship to the physics aspect. This type does not shy away from expressing what they like and dislike in their surroundings. They have a strong fascination with aesthetics and mood ¹, similar to their sister type FELV. However, FLEVs are much more lax and hidden about the emotions that drive them. This type wants to be the authority of all incoming senses and will refuse to allow others to tamper with their comforts if they have already claimed them ². FLEVs do not like to waste time in direct confrontation with others, so they tend to pre-meditate and plan around potential conflict that may overwhelm them with negative emotion or dramatics ³. This type gives off an air of hedonism that communicates to others that the FLEV will get what they desire in the physical world no matter how others protest. For this reason, FLEVs can appear highly chaotic and physically vivacious if their vulnerabilities are triggered into action. This type may have a fascination with physical activities that provide abundance like: gardening, farming, metalworking, thrift-shopping, and collecting. This only aids into the typical view of the FLEV as someone highly focused on the value they can attain from the material world."

Okay so, let's break down three main things here (but everything in bold is nice to my point):

"strong fascination with aesthetics and mood" - oh c'mon the guy wears a Scarecrow mask. Motherfucker rode on a horse during that mess in the Narrows. He's obsessed with the creepy little aesthetic.

"wants to be the authority of all incoming senses and will refuse to allow others to tamper with their comforts if they have already claimed them" - quite self-explanatory. Look at that guy. Sure, he may not be THE authority in Ra's plan, for example, but he does see himself in some position of power, and is quite protective of the physical comfort (his materials for the fear toxin) the alliance provided him, which is... quite shown when he drugs Falcone. He pretty much didn't want him to fucking bother them.

"do not like to waste time in direct confrontation with others, so they tend to pre-meditate and plan around potential conflict that may overwhelm them with negative emotion or dramatics" - quite self-explanatory too. He just doesn't seem to bother much, let's say.

There is, however, a quirk that I will mention in... a second. It doesn't change the basis but it does change a little thing.

2L: I believe this is, although the easiest one to understand, the hardest one to explain.

"FLEVs have a highly active relationship with the logic aspect. This type wastes no time digging into the details, particularly physical, of everything they observe. They tend to carefully consider information regardless of source, and interrelate it to all other sources and past experiences they have had with that particular idea. There is a hyperactivity present in willingness to entertain new possibilities and ideas surrounding logic that only few types can match. Along with the focus on logic, FLEVs can become collectors of philosophical ideas. Like all pentes, there is a strong focus on the past and how it compares to current ideas in humanity. [...] If their interests do not stretch that far back in history, they will instead tend towards endless breadth of outside opinions rather than depth. Regardless of their focus, this type does not stop collecting data and feeding it into the sensual vision of their life. FLEVs desire to share opinions and encourage others to join along, even if they strongly disagree with their ideas."

I believe it is quite self-explanatory, but I must say that FLEV's are easy to be passionate about philosophical ideas... does that ring a bell?

"Crane prepared himself to make a grand theory to prove that fear was the basis of all of humanity's errors and "cure" it by ushering mankind with the fear-induction within his hallucinogen into a true Garden of Eden where all of its worst fears came true and were conquered, with him as its benevolent ruler."

(I find the last bit quite silly. Not a big fan of it, but whatever, let's not get off topic)

To explain why his Logics is there I also want to point out about this on the Pente Sexta page (where FLEV is):

Process Emotion & Logic: Pentes prefer to process, discuss and partake in a journey through emotion and logic. You will often hear them conversing in depth about education, artistry, vocalization, communication and ideology.

I believe he's quite the calculative, meticulously sadistic villain... which makes him having a 2L and a 3E specifically (since the "process" is when things are on either 2 or 3 positions) make quite sense. "But why not 2E and 3L? Why is his emotion on 'insecure'? He seems so collected... and he's a psychiatrist!" that's what I'm going to delve into... NOW!

3E:

The simplest way that I could explain why he's 3E is that he does not see emotions as a good thing necessarily, and sees them more as tools to achieve goals (AKA emotional manipulation, but this is not the overall case for any 3E, I'm talking about Jonathan-fucking-Crane). But that's too vague. Let me once again copy paste the site's description:

"FLEVs tend to have a firmly concealed 3E attitude. This type often refuses to express their emotions and believes that this part of themselves must be saved for entirely safe situations where they cannot be criticized or thrown into emotional turmoil. They may attempt to feel safe by pointing out how hysterical others are and satirizing versions of what they believe are frenzied emotions. [...] FLEVs dislike any situation where emotions may cloud their own judgment or throw them into disappointment or negativity that they did not choose to partake in themselves. They often want a negative experience to have a purpose, and if nothing interesting or of value can be obtained from it, then it is better off left ignored. They can become dejected and sad looking, while refusing to verbalize the emotions held within unless it is aggression or anger."

Jonathan has this calculative, cold and annoying way because of this sort of thing: he sees these emotions as an obstacle. Also... "satirizing versions of what they believe are frenzied emotions"? Fucking hell! He's a smug looking ironic bastard that literally just threw a "not my diagnosis!" on Batman! Isn't that enough proof of how 3E he is???

Unbothered volition huh?

"But doesn't he have a goal? That world without fear?"

Well! First of all: take note on how physical this goal is, and how fear to Crane is seen as something on a more physical world than anything else (I believe his toxin shows that pretty well - someone who sees fear as an emotion wouldn't use a toxin that is made having in mind and as a sole objective the physical compensation and reactions. Being it a weird ass fetish or a cuiriosity on seeing how humans physically react to fear and how that physically affects the physical brain and physical world and how the emotions affect it and how he can use the emotions to cause physical reactions to YOU GET IT). And now read this:

FLEVs, like all pente types, can have a mixed state of first and fourth attitudes. They may have short bursts of inspiration to reach a desired future goal but will ultimately use this inspiration to serve a physical need that they value. FLEVs may be highly opinionated about what they like and dislike on an aesthetic level, but easily take orders from others if the goal is seen as useful. This can give off a confusing impression to those who have witnessed the pickiness of this type. Ultimately, the FLEV is open minded to possible future ventures, especially if there are details to obsess over. They may not want to waste time discussing goals as the process is less interesting than reaching a result, but they rarely shoot down opinions in this realm. FLEVs can be very hard workers since they are a 1F type, pushing their body to extremes to reach a coveted physical or environmental state, but there is rarely any extensive thought put into considering other options unless they come across a solution by chance.

THIS IS THE STRONGEST ARGUMENT FOR WHY HE'S A FLEV!

For example, another type that I'd understand typing him is VLEF. And I genuenely get why. Genuenely, I do.

But I think this Scarecrow (and overall my favorite ones like BTAA) is more of a FLEV.

Reason being that (IN THIS CASE) the volition is not what causes the physical interest but vice versa. REMINDER THAT PHYSICAL WORLD IS MORE THAN SEX AND BEAUTY IT'S ALSO STUFF LIKE POWER AND FOOD AND YOU GET THE IDEA I DON'T WANT TO SOUND LIKE I'M GOING LIKE "yeah he's all about sex" OKAY????? I just think there's something deeply wrong with him.

I think a VLEF Scarecrow could be arkhamverse or Fear State ones. But I have not delved into that yet.

So yeah, I understand why one would believe he's a VLEF, but I believe other Scarecrows fit this archetype better than Nolanverse (and BTAA, my beloved<3), who is more of a FLEV.

Very aesthetic driven, one could say. I believe Scarecrows tend to vary between either VLEF or FLEV. At least my favorite ones.

I think this Jonathan was trying to do something, but had no time for it. He was used as a pretty face and now he's seen as a bad Scarecrow by many. But I don't believe so. I think he can be scary, and that he can be obsessed, and love the halloween aesthetic.

He's underrated, because even when he is the most mainstream one... barely anyone actually... talks about him. No character exploration, no manipulation, no scary disgusting guy... just... pretty face. Disappointing is not enough to describe how he is treated. I think he deserves better, in canon and fanon.

I started writing this when I was full of energy and not knowing where to throw it so this is probably a mess >_< sorry!

I'm not even a big fan of his. One of his biggest slanderers. But I do think he was done unfairly and that he deserves a second chance in my heart.

According to whom??? It pulses and gets bigger, yes, but no one ever remarks on this??? You could just as easily make the argument that it's bigger because he's so much more powerful than everyone else. Also, Secret Stones get big on their own!

All of the stones are this size prior to being activated.

Then it's this big before it shrinks down to jewelry size.

Is this scene creepy? Sure! But it has nothing to do with "laws of nature," the Secret Stone just DOES that in reflection of its user's will.

Did a count, this literally has to ignore 16/32 shrines to make this work, and it's lopsided. Pretty sure this is just a theory, my guy.
