T. rex Madness Round 2: Prehistoric Park (Terrence) vs. Prehistoric Park (Matilda)
Tumblr media
Prehistoric Park (Terrence) – One of two orphaned T. rexes rescued by Nigel in the first episode, Terrence and his sister Matilda grow up fast. Due to their fighting, they are given separate enclosures, but this isn’t enough to stop Matilda, the larger of the two, from breaking in and seriously wounding her brother. But, thanks to the heroic efforts of Vet Suzanne, Terrence is able to make a full recovery.
Tumblr media
Prehistoric Park (Matilda) – In true Tyrannosaurus form, Matilda makes herself a menace in the otherwise peaceful, if chaotic, sanctuary for prehistoric life. Not content to only attack her brother, Terrence, Matilda breaks out yet again in the final episode, threatening Head Keeper Bob and many of the other animals. Her rampage is thwarted by Martha the mammoth, who defends a baby elephant, and Nigel, who manages to lead her back to containment.

So all the Walking with shows take place in a universe where time-travel has been invented and is now being used to study and document prehistoric life.
In the specials we have Nigel Marven on location to track down the creature of the episode.
Prehistoric Park was heavily advertised (at least in Australia) as being made by the creators of Walking with Dinosaurs and seems to continue Marven’s character except now is much more explicit on how the time-travel works.
Then Primeval has the time-anomalies animated the same as the Prehistoric Park portals.
So in my head it’s all the same universe. But how far does that go?
Can you incorporate The Future is Wild into this? Then what about the cartoon? How about March of the Dinosaurs or Prehistoric Planet?

I'm so emotional about dinosaurs
I am constantly learning and researching them and I still cannot possibly imagine how truly extraordinary they are, with every new thing we discover.
I remember growing up wolves were always my favourite animal, and this hasn't really changed, the first time I saw a wolf in a conservation park, I stood there for hours watching so overwhelmed with something I still don't know how to describe.
I couldn't possibly comprehend what it'd be really like to see a dinosaur, I would love to have the money to actually go and see a dig site and a variety of fossils and get as close as we can to them but I know if I have the smarts and resources to be a crazed billionaire I'd absolutely become John Hammond or a lunatic with a time machine. I don't think there's any dream in the world I hold onto more than to see a dinosaur, as silly and impossible as it is.
But just dinosaurs man, we exist in the same frame of reality as something colossal and extraordinary and there's nothing more amazing.

literally every problem the ppl running Jurassic park had would have been avoided if Nigel Marven from prehistoric park had been in charge. a stellar example of what a park housing long-extinct animals SHOULD be like

It was an interesting docu-series where people catch prehistoric creatures before their demise( cathing a dino before a meteor hits)
It was a good show and I dunno if I was the only one who saw it

Broke: Cloning dinosaurs to put them into an amusement park that keeps getting people killed
Woke: Using a time machine to bring prehistoric animals into the present and put them in an animal sanctuary to give them a second chance at life

TRM Round 1: Prehistoric Park (Terrence) vs Barney (Barney)
Tumblr media
Prehistoric Park (Terrence) – One of two orphaned T. rexes rescued by Nigel in the first episode, Terrence and his sister Matilda grow up fast. Due to their fighting, they are given separate enclosures, but this isn’t enough to stop Matilda, the larger of the two, from breaking in and seriously wounding her brother. But, thanks to the heroic efforts of Vet Suzanne, Terrence is able to make a full recovery.

Barney (Barney) – Love him or hate him, many of us have early memories of watching this perpetually upbeat purple dinosaur play and learn with a cast of kids and other dinosaur friends. Barney’s show was easy to outgrow, but he’s almost cedrtainly the most recognizable dinosaur from the 90s outside of Jurassic Park.
