I dunno why tf, but I like Conifers externally & aesthetically, even though I can barely distinguish spruce, fir and pine from each other. I really want know basic differences, history and how their ancestors looked like in Mesozoic era. Well, at least now I practice how to draw 'em!

So, I imagine spruces in a variety colors & shapes, like a red Christmas tree (which I seen a lot irl in stores as little decorations in my city), but as real species! These concepts will be flora in my dino lore.

My brother wanted plant recommendations for a customer who wants to hide a telephone pole with a tree (but not a ‘conifer or birch’). I suggested a couple of trees, he comes back for more suggestions and was like ‘I did also suggest a Scot’s pine’ so I’m like ‘oh well if they don’t mind a conifer then I’d suggest a metasequoia’ so he looks it up and is like ‘but that doesn’t look like a conifer’ yes it does?? And then he was like ‘when people say conifers they just mean like [chamaecyparis]’ ?? I try not be a plant snob but like I don’t understand what he means

They cut down their own tree, and cut it again when it wouldn’t fit through the door.  Two hours and a few hundred lights later, it stands more or less straight in the living room.

“Fraser fir,” Mulder says approvingly.  “The favored Christmas tree of the White House.  Sturdy branches.  Excellent needle retention.”

“Douglas fir.”  Scully is drowsy, her head on his shoulder.  “Fraser firs have shorter needles.”

He smiles down at the silver in her golden hair.  “Showoff.”

“Never met a Pinaceae I didn’t like.”  She yawns.  “Will called.  He said they’ll be home around four.”

“Supposed to snow.”

“It was supposed to snow today, too.  Could be nothing.”

“I’ll keep an eye on the forecast.”  He nudges her foot with his own.  “Scully.”

“Mm.”

“Did you talk to your brother?”

A slow exhale, her eyes still closed.  Scully has been slow-dancing around her youngest sibling for a year or so, mending fences that – from what Mulder has pieced together - she hadn’t really been the one to trample in the first place.  “He’s saying Monday now.  If he can get away.”

His long fingers pull at her waist, drawing her closer until she curls into him.  “You think he’s actually going to come?”

“He asked for our address this time.  I’d say the odds are better than fifty-fifty.”

“Charles Scully, in the flesh.”  He fingers the tail end of her braid.  “I never thought I’d see the day.”

“Well.”  The ghost of a smile.  “You haven’t seen it yet.”

explain how yo ucan choose to be corrupted, please i did not understand the first time pleas.e..i do not understand..can you change back one you choose to be corrupted? is there societal differences between coorupted and those woh arnt?. what is society/daily life like for everyone? oh golly.,

CRACKS KNUCKLES. LORE RAMBLE TIME for Loyalty Paradox AU BELOW THE CUT!!!

1. How does Corruption work?

To answer how one can choose to be corrupted, we must first explain how corruption works in Loyalty Paradox.Corruption occurs when the hue of a shape (or otherwise colorful thing) is changed via consuming the power of the Tree of Life. For the host, this usually presents itself as a brighter, harsher version of the original color— and the newfound ability to spread it to other things. Some shapes do not take this well and become mindless zombies. However, they can be controlled, and thus reversed, by the host. If a shape does not become mindless, they may experience a subtle power boost. In some cases, their personality changes, but most are fine. The corruption is easily reversed using a weak shard, or by consulting someone more connected to the Tree. (i.e. a Hero, in extreme cases.) Therefore, corruption is almost entirely optional.Other than mindless corrupts, there is one other downside to corruption, and that is unstable corrupts. Unstable corrupts are extremely violent, but unlike mindless, cannot be controlled by the host. Only reversed, and only using the help of a shard.

2. Differences between corrupts and pures

Societal differences between corrupts and pures do exist, yes. The Heroes have perpetuated the idea that corrupts are inherently evil; though some pures came to that conclusion on their own due to the panic caused by the country randomly turning pink, not to mention the country's religious symbol being stolen and/or destroyed.Pures are likely to be fearful or aggressive towards corrupts. Attempted murder has been documented on several occasions. Corrupts try their best to hide from pures unless in a corrupt safe space such as the Tower or Bari's Cafe. Really, the pures are all just following the Heroes' lead.

3. Shape society

The society of Pinaceae largely revolves around nature, namely the Tree of Life. The citizens worship it as the creator of the universe. It's quite peaceful at first glance. Most houses are built open to nature or with flora somehow included in the architecture. Towns are closely knit with bustling centres and happy faces. Commerce is usually done by trade or coins engraved with a triangle.Below the surface it's really not that great. Those in need are often ignored and cast aside, even shunned in some cases. A big issue in particular is Colorloss, a cancer-like disease without cure nor treatment. Shapes showing symptoms are usually left to rot.
