what apps do you use?

i primarily use social maker; secondarily, social dummy. unfortunately, both apps are no longer on the app/play store. :( i've seen people use memi message as an alternative for texts + twinote for sns.

how do you do the instagram stories?

i go in depth on it here. the general gist is that i make a highlight on instagram -> rename the highlight to the 'username' i want -> add to the highlight & screenshot from there.

how do i read all of your work?

my masterlist is in my pinned tweet, but you can also check out the #── ᵎᵎ ✦ mine tag to scroll through my work without my answered asks, yapping, etc.

how do i know if/when requests are open?

i indicate on my pinned post whether requests are open or not. as i've mentioned in my guidelines, i don't consider requests sent while the requesting period is closed.

what types of requests are ok?

🟢 fluff, angst, crack. established relationships, platonic relationships/friendships, poly relationships. a range of au's including non-idol, idol!reader, etc. boyfriend!svt, brother!svt, husband!svt. reqs based on songs, media (i.e. movies, series), tropes, or prompts. 🟡 smut/suggestive (can be difficult to translate in this format). cheating/infidelity, emotional hurt/comfort, themes of grief, high school aus. reqs based on another author's body of work (unless they've explicitly stated they are okay with remixes/spin-offs). 🔴 abuse, age gaps, character death, emotional manipulation, gender swap, sa/sh/ed, terminal illnesses, yandere. reqs based on a different user's smau/text imagines.

why haven't you answered my ask for a certain request?

i'm still slowly but surely working through my inbox. sometimes, i'll time/schedule a release, which is why i may keep an ask as i consider how to execute it. i'm never intentionally unresponsive; there's just a lot of asks to work through and, again, i sometimes like to bide my time to ensure the quality of my work. there are also times where i simply do not have the inspiration for a certain request. i sometimes still keep an ask, just in case i might be inspired at a later date/time. otherwise, i make no promises on the fulfillment of any requests/prompts sent my way.

will [insert verse] have a part two?

sequels to any verse is always subject to inspiration. i don't mind getting asks/comments like this, if only because it gives me some idea of what people might want to see more of! but please understand that━ for the most part━ each piece of work should be able to stand on its own, unless otherwise stated.

gladly! it's sometimes easier for me to come up with brief headcanons or drabbles for my work, and i love, love, love talking about most verses. if you have any questions or clarifications, my inbox is always open. i'm usually more open to these than making a full second 'part'.

a/n : not much plot to it but ! it's the feels of not being able to forget someone and maybe, you're better off longing for them than try pressing down your feelings. anyone out there longing for their special someone, I just wanna say it's okay to feel that way :3 it may not be the healthiest choice, but allow yourself to long for that person until you feel it's time to actually let them go <3 enjoy !

things were just never the same anymore, it couldn't. I'd keep having dreams about you, about us. those sweet, spring memories we shared now embedded in my head like a broken record. those days when we spent our mornings showering each other with kisses, when we would take night walks in the park, when we talked about spending the rest of our lives together. those days, when we loved each other like there was no tomorrow. we did, but it just didn't last forever just like what we had wished under that shooting star.

I admit, that I still love you, the same or maybe even more than I did back then. I truly believed that we were meant to be, and no one can tell me otherwise as I've seen those eyes of yours bear the same endearment for me as I do for you. it sounds cheesy, but I am willing to be if it's you. however, as much as I want to let go of you, I don't think I'd ever come to terms with the fact that you did. we were so beautiful, don't you think so? it was as if the world revolved around us. I know we will never be able to go back to those days, to love each other again.

every night that came and went in the same repertoire. staring straight at the ceiling, reminiscing the times I still had you in my arms, crying myself to sleep, jolting awake from the same nightmare, hugging myself back to sleep. the pain was almost unbearable when it gets to the nightmare. it was my regrets for not doing my best for you, and the mistakes that I wished I hadn't made. I could never stand to see tears in your eyes, especially if it was because of me. on the day you left, you looked me in the eye, with tears threatening to roll down your crimson cheeks. that moment broke my heart to pieces, noticing the burning sensation of the wind against my skin.

it seems I have already lost you, with no chance to turn back time.

when I'm sober, everything I did numbed me to the core. when I wake up to your side of the bed empty, seeing that the once lively space all dull with silence, the fridge slowly emptying, leaving nothing but water and some alcohol. it's like I stopped functioning properly when you're not with me. the flowers that you loved so much don't look as lively, the warm breeze that greeted us daily slowly getting chilly, the stars that we spent hours looking at don't sparkle as much. you brought so much color to my world, and it returned back to being monochromatic, like those times before I met you.

you brought so much joy to my life, and I have never felt so grateful for being alive. it was the first time I felt so euphoric, fortunate to see that very smile of yours when you look at me with such affection. that smile was for me, because of me, only me. you made me feel like the luckiest person on earth to love someone as wonderful as you are. I can only hope you felt the same way as I did.

all the things in my life took a turn, not a good one at that, after you left. you took a part of me with you when you told me that things weren't working out. what did that mean? was I not doing good enough? did your feelings for me change? there were so many questions I want to ask, but sometimes, they were better left unanswered. these daggers piercing through my heart are more than enough to leave me bleeding profusely till I can't feel love anymore.

as I spent each day, yearning for your warmth and affection, there's something that I've come to realize as I take a step back to look at things. there will be no one else who would be able to fill your spot, not even with time. it's been months, almost a year that I've been standing here, not knowing what is wrong with me. that's because, nothing is wrong. everything made so much sense.

I love you and nothing can ever change that fact. even if you don't love me anymore, that's okay. all I will do is just stand here right behind you, protecting you from the shadows. although there might not be someone who would be by your side all the time, I will be right here behind you. until the day I get the chance to stand next to you, be the one you can rely on, I will be here for you.

viii. are you starting a freshman babysitting service? (wc 1.5k)

you bite your lip as you survey the downstairs floor of the NCT frat house. from your position on the fifth step of the staircase (you may have bypassed the crudely drawn ‘OUT OF BOUNDS - GO FUCK SOMEWHERE ELSE’ sign, but you figure you can get away with it as NCT’s favourite menace), you can see most of the lower floor. the kitchen is in the far right corner, double doors wide open to display the multitude of students hanging around the island covered in an assortment of beverages and stereotypical red solo cups. in the middle sits a huge plastic bowl full of doyoung’s infamous blackout punch. it’s an alarming orange colour and tastes dangerously like fruit juice instead of any of the numerous types of alcohol that are mixed in. jaemin drank so much one party last year he had to buy yeri coffee for two weeks to make up for the dress incident, which he still doesn’t even remember happening. he passed out in jeno’s lap five minutes later, hence the name. currently, you can see wooyoung and changbin yelling excitedly at san, before said soccer player downs an entire cup of the stuff and then goes back in for another.

your nose wrinkles, and you turn your gaze to the back doors to the left of the kitchen. a few people are sitting on the various pieces of garden furniture strewn out on the deck, but you can’t see much further and the only person you recognise out there is amy. unfortunately, she isn’t what you’re after right now. you bypass the small queue of girls waiting to get into the downstairs bathroom and look over the biggest space of the house, the living room. all of the non-seating furniture has been taken away and stored safely in the basement like usual, leaving the two huge sofas and whatever the guys could find for people to sit on. it’s mostly beanbags and a couple camping chairs, though you’re pretty sure that’s yuta’s desk chair he’s currently lounging in, chatting animatedly to sicheng and yangyang. a potential candidate. the rest of the floor space is taken up by people dancing along to the music booming throughout the house (currently wow by btob), and you see a lot of familiar faces strewn throughout the throng of students. sadly, none that jump out at you, other than maybe yeonjun, but he seems a little preoccupied with soobin, wooyoung’s unofficial fifth roommate.

and directly below you, pushed up against the staircase, is the entire reason you’re scanning the house so meticulously: the beer pong table. your master plan to get jaehyun inebriated enough to agree to playing shinee on night night wednesday all relies on your ability to secure a partner skilled enough to give the reigning NCT beer pong champion a half-decent challenge. at the moment, ryujin and yeji are wiping the floor with felix and hyunjin, who is dramatically fake crying while downing yet another cup. eyes flitting back to the corner of the room where yuta is still engaged in conversation, you’re about to descend the stairs and proposition him when something catches your attention.

perched on the arm of the sofa on the right side of the living room is a boy with chocolate brown hair looking around nervously and wringing his hands in his lap. normally, you wouldn’t think twice about a stranger presumably looking for a friend at a frat party, but something about this boy’s demeanour is screaming that he’s super uncomfortable and in need of help. you make your way down through the room, waving at yuta, sicheng and yangyang as you go, coming to a stop in front of the boy, who, upon closer inspection, is definitely younger yet almost certainly at least six inches taller than you.

“hi!” you greet him over the music, feeling the bass of b.a.p’s hurricane in your entire body. “are you okay? you look a little lost… or like you’ve lost someone.”

“hey, uh.” his voice is a lot deeper than you expected. “both, i guess?” he brings a hand up to rub at his neck nervously. “i came in with my friend, but he went to get drinks like twenty minutes ago. now i can’t see him anywhere, and there are so many people here, and i only know like maybe five of them?”

“well he can’t have gone too far, i can help you look if you want? i’m y/n.” you smile. “even if we can’t find your friend, maybe one of the other four will show up so you’re not on your own.”

“yes please.” the earnest look on his face is so endearing you have to stop yourself pinching his cheeks. “honestly, we were invited at the rush event last week, but i dunno if frat life is for me anymore.”

“it’s not all like this.” you laugh, weaving your way through the crowd. “yeah, parties are what people tend to think of when they think frats, but that’s only a small part of it and they’re not compulsory. there’s so many other fun and less choatic events that get put on, and they’re all really great guys here.”

you’ve managed to make your way to the back doors, and the tall freshman holds the door open for you as you step out into the cool night air. maybe johnny was right and your outfit was lacking a few layers for the frigid january weather, but you’d never give him the satisfaction of letting him know. it’s not as busy out here, and while there’s a buzz of conversation emitting from the backyard, it’s nowhere near as loud as inside.

“oh!” your new companion exclaims. “there’s mark.” you follow his line of sight to see said recruitment chair leaning up against the wall with a drink in his hand. he’s laughing along with something one of the people in the small group surrounding him has said, and you spot a few familiar faces among them.

“you know mark? oh, he must’ve been at the rush event.”

“yeah, it was him and the frat president who invited us, but i can’t remember his name.” the boy frowns, following as you lead the way over to them.

“taeyong.” you supply, watching as he nods in recognition. “i haven’t seen him around tonight actually, but like you said there are a lot of people here.”

“y/n!” jeno is the first to notice your presence. you easily accept the hug he offers and turn to greet the other boys.

“hey guys, so this is-“ you cut yourself off with a frown, realising you’d never actually asked the freshman what his name was. oops.

“jisung!”

“chenle!” jisung moves to stand next to who you presume is his missing friend with a huge grin.

“this is jisung.” you laugh. “i met him inside looking a little lost and offered to help him find his friend, but seems like you beat me to it.”

“hey, man!” mark grins at jisung. “we bumped into chenle in the kitchen and got to talking, sorry if we worried you.”

“hi.” a voice to your left diverts your attention from the conversation in front of you. you turn and come face to face with donghyuck and damn, the picture ten posted earlier in the evening really didn’t do him justice. up close, you can see every mole that dots his pretty face and you want to trace your fingertips between them to map them out like a constellation.

“hey.” you breathe, suddenly finding it more difficult to do so. being in this close proximity to him is not something you’ve experienced yet, and it’s seemingly bad for your health.

“are you starting a freshman babysitting service?” he teases, little smirk turning up the corner of his lips.

“yeah, of course.” you scoff, leaning back to give yourself some space to collect your thoughts. “he just looked really lost and i wanted to make sure he was okay. i was actually on my way to find a beer pong parter to hopefully dethrone jaehyun.”

“either you’re very confident in your own beer pong skills or you’re delusional.” donghyuck looks very unimpressed by your response. “he’s been undefeated for as long as we’ve been students here, probably longer.”

“since the end of year party the year before, actually.” you inform him, shrugging. “and maybe ‘dethrone’ is a little ambitious, i just need someone good enough to not get swept without making him down a few.”

“why?”

“well… i have a plan that may or may not involve getting him drunk enough to agree to something and then recording it as evidence so he can’t say no afterwards.” you watch as what can only be described as an evil, gleeful smile spreads across donghyuck’s face.

“i’m in.”

YEAR END CEREMONIES ( PART 1 )

( important note: for 2024′s year end ceremonies, this is split into two parts so this part will be for the IDOLS. in terms of ic, some of the events happened since late october/early november to give the muses enough time to work and plan whatever projects/events are assigned to them. furthermore, since JAEJIN and SEYOON will not be revealed as the new TYPE ZERO members until january and will be busy preparing for the group’s comeback, they will not be eligible to partake in this event. )

with the year end season happening, all of the legacy artists ( idols/actors/models ) will be attending various events during the months of december and january.

SEASON’S GREETINGS

for the 2025 season’s greetings, here are the following themes for each of the groups ( do note that the lgc season’s greetings might not look EXACTLY like the references but rather inspired by it ):

CRYSTALLIS: el7z up’s 2024 season’s greetings + concept photos. prior to the pictorial, each of the CRYSTALLIS members will be asked to pick a chess piece that best represents them. they can pick the same pieces, but no more than TWO members can choose the same chess piece. the chosen chess piece will be displayed throughout each member’s solo photos with the piece matching their representative color. in addition to that, the CRYSTALLIS members will write encouraging and motivational messages to alizes in a form of a postcard, with the front of it being the name of the season’s greetings and a stamp of one of their solo photos.

FABULA: aespa 2025 season’s greetings + concept photos. prior to the pictorial, each of the FABULA members will fill out a “bad kids record” profile ( similar to a student profile & report card; which will be added as part of the detective document ). the profile will consist of basic questions ( eg. name, birthdate, year, hobbies, etc ) and a section where they can put why they would be a “bad student” ( eg. skipping school, failing classes, etc. ). the section is supposed to be lighthearted and funny, so feel free to give a silly reason! afterwards, they will be given a sticker sheet where they will draw images of each of the members ( or what they remember/associate them as ), the fabula logo, and fabelles.

NOVA: nmixx 2024 season’s greetings + concept photos. prior to the pictorial, each of the NOVA members will fill out a “villager” profile. the profile will consist of basic questions ( eg. name, birthdate, group, personality [in one word] ) along with some life/social simulation game type of questions ( eg. “motto”, “favorite item”, “3 items in your bucket list”, “profession” [ profession would be based on what kind of job the muse could see themselves taking in their fictional village ], etc. )

TYPE ZERO: highlight 2025 season’s greetings + concept photos #1 + concept photos #2. prior to the pictorial, each of the TYPE ZERO members will be asked to draw/design a skateboard that best represents them ( as an individual and as a group ). for this, the personalized design will be used as part of the skateboard keychain. they will also contribute to the sticker set, with each of them drawing each other, the type zero logo, and zeniths.

V&A: btob 2024 season’s greetings ( versus will be taking the black one/pepper version while agito will be taking the red one/chili version ) + concept video. due to the polar opposite concepts, each of the V&A members will be asked to pick a dish that best represents them ( eg. for versus, it would be a “gourmet/traditional” kind of dish while agito would choose something that fits more of the comfort/fast food kind of dish ). the dishes selected will be used as prop for the solo and group photos. in addition to that, each unit will brainstorm/pitch in design ideas for one of the inclusion items ( versus = wooden coaster, agito = chopsticks ) and the best and finalized design will be chosen by the lgc creative team.

the season’s greetings will be released on DECEMBER 27 while the behind the scene videos and photos will be released on FEBRUARY 2. if you want to, you can post any photos that may match the group’s respective themes for OPEN EVENT 006 ( fansites ) starting in FEBRUARY.

SPECIAL STAGE ( DECEMBER 27 )

sometime around early NOVEMBER, all of the legacy groups ( TYPE ZERO, V&A, CRYSTALLIS, FABULA, NOVA ) were asked to randomly pick a sheet of paper from a container and inside each paper was a song listed. the song given to them is what they will be performing for the special stage. later in the month, the asia artist awards committee posted on their social media accounts a poll with the simple question of “who would you like to see as a leader?” and listed all of the lgc idols participating except the ones who are officially leaders in their respective groups ( BAEKHYUN, JIHO, YEONWOO, ICHIKA, EUNHYE, SENA ).

then a couple of days later, all of the idols who picked the same song would meet for the first time ( and their initial reactions when finding out who their teammates are will be filmed ). the staff will tell them who the leader will be and to break the ice for some of the members, each group will play the yaja time game, where the youngest person in the group becomes the oldest and the oldest person in the group becomes the youngest. the yaja time game will happen during the first meeting, where the leader will decide the lyric distributions for the group ( note: ooc wise you will NOT be doing the lyrics distributions because this part is for ic reference and to add some fun to the project! ) and the team name. as you will see on the year end ceremonies sheet, the team names listed there are based on the group they will be doing a cover of ( eg. team nova, team fabula, team crystallis, etc ). those names are added there as placeholders to allow the teams to decide their name!

for the team name there are a few rules/requirements related to it:

the name must be related to something that most/all of the members in the group have in common AND/OR something to represent the upcoming year/2025 ( eg. chinese zodiac ). in character, the group will be asked to create their own signature greeting that they will be showing off when introducing their group on the day of the asia artist awards, but again you do not have to do this ooc and it’s added for fun.

when submitting, you must provide at least 3 team name options and the admod team will act as the staff judges who will finalize the team’s name. because of this, it’s recommended to send in the submits ASAP to allow ample time for the admod team to choose the names.

only the TEAM LEADER will submit the name suggestions to the LGCMANAGER blog. once we’ve received the name suggestions, we will send a message through the main confirming that we got it! the teams have until DECEMBER 14, 2024, 11:59PM EDT to submit their suggestions!

throughout the next couple of days, the teams will be a part of their team’s photoshoot, where the photos and clips will be used to promote the award show and to be used while performing on stage. do note that because of how big this special stage is, teams CANNOT tell other people about their rehearsals/performances AND other teams CANNOT sneak in or watch each other’s performances! everything will be kept a secret and as a surprise for the original artists!

then around DECEMBER 21-23, the teams will be spending their “last day” of rehearsals before the actual performance ( DECEMBER 27 ). after practice, the TEAM LEADER will gather all of the members and facilitate a conversation where everyone can talk about their experiences ( eg. struggles, achievements, favorite moments, etc. ). afterwards they will do one final bonding activity where each member will give a heartfelt speech to the person sitting next to them on the right ( so each person has an opportunity ) about instances when the other person stood out to them in some way ( eg. “noticed how so and so overcame the struggle of getting the dance part right”, “saw how caring the other person was”, “liked how they made them laugh”, etc ). once that is done, the team will do one last cheer before parting ways.

all of this will be filmed for LGC’s youtube channel, where they will release a series of ‘behind the scenes’ videos of this specific special stage! more information as to when they will be released will be mentioned on the Q1 missions.

you can click over HERE for a more exhaustive list of the awards and year end shows ( including the team arrangements for the special stage ). since some of the lgc debuted artists will be hosting a handful of these award shows, they will be given some time the day before to review through their scripts.

WRITING REQUIREMENTS

As Catiny’s main vocalist - who do you think has the spiciest vocals in kpop right meow?

Well, the spiciest vocals come from Changmin, who is a level 2 spicey boy at MOST. I mean, the 240105 Music Bank high note for "Down"? I don't know how half the boy groups didn't immediately vaporize as soon as he did That. I know it was probably just that he didn't hit the note at first, but he made it sound so good with that dissonance resolving into whistle register? (I would say something about Nissan Stadium Forever Love but until that's back up on YouTube I refuse to contemplate it so I don't burst into tears) But I'm a hater and don't like him so don't put him on the list.

EXID's Solji might not be active right meow, but she just did that musical so she counts!

Of course BTOB, Eunkwang and Minhyuk especially, I mean, "Boom" era was everything to me.

All of A.C.E, obviously, the world is a little brighter for their comeback. I can't wait for Donghun to absolutely devastate me again, but friendly reminder for your daily required viewing of their It's Live performance of "Goblin".

WayV's Xiaojun, I know Mujin Service is pitch corrected but the sheer emotion in "Ashes" is too much. He doesn't need to do as much as he does at all times, but thank god for it.

Does Forestella count as kpop? Because they've got the spice and the spicey vocals. All of them, but Woorim's wife was right to lock him down after that performance of "Bad Romance".

I might be ride or die for Seonghwa Main Vocal When, but back in like February 2021 I said San from Ateez strained a lot and he said "why would you say such a thing? btw hi lesbians" and just immediately went fuckin insane. I'm bummed it happened after they stopped actively promoting it but I will never shut up about how when he gets a mic for "Turbulence" he saves the whole song with that modulation to keep it from being a diminished fifth. I know he's a great dancer but he's vocal line for a reason. Watch "Breathe" btw.

SPEAKING OF "BREATHE"!!!! [edit: I got too excited to jump into IU that I forgot to finish this, sorry, I know it's a Lee Hi song] Lee Hi is that good good alto and the fact she had that voice at debut? We Love Altos.

IU!!!!! GIRL!!!!!!! No list of spiciest vocals would be complete without IU. "Love Poem" should be a UNESCO World Heritage piece of culture. I love her and I can't believe you're keeping her hostage and away from us, Addy.

Fun fact: DK is actually short for "DyKe rights" (editor's note: this is not true) and my sister will let me blast "Hot" in her car specifically so we can vocalize along with his chest voice there. He's got such a good ear.

The Boyz genuinely has some power vocals. Why do you think his name is SANGyeon? That video of him singing in a parking lot plays behind my eyes while I try to fall asleep.

Shownu simply does not get the credit he deserves as a vocalist. His voice is more subtle, so maybe not particularly spicey, but he's my husband and I will not let him go unappreciated on this list. What's the opposite of spicey? That's how I feel about I.M, except he's actually got interesting vocals, he's technically weaker but I think that makes him more interesting vocally. Plus he's the King of Vocal Fry (complimentary).

Another vocal fry master -- Taehyun from TXT. I feel so much about that kid. Most of it good.

For the hags, all of 2pm! (I'm not taking antipsychotics right now so I'm allowed to be delusional and they're active in my heart.) "Make It" was THE song of 2021, no notes at all. And "ADTOY" had no right to be that good. Also we love grown men being grown up spicey.

Woodz, don't talk to me about enlistment if I don't acknowledge it then it isn't happening. The live versions of "Chaser" and "Trigger" and "Accident" and and and and? I think his harmonizing gets overshadowed sometimes by his vocal power, especially since he has to harmonize with his backing track rather than another singer, but bro... bro... Also he was the closest to a Changmin "Mirotic" note, I will ignore any arguments to the contrary.

Red Velvet's Seulgi has really good vocals when she's given the chance to flex them, I really wish we could hear more from her. Underappreciated, tbh.

Highlight's Dongwoon, do we need to talk about that performance of "Fiction" again? Because I will talk about that performance of "Fiction" again. And I choose to believe his scene in "Good Luck" is part of the most watched section because of that little C# Major moment. Yeah his only other band mate Yeoseob is good but I gotta give the crown to Dongwoon. Also his outfits from last May's concerts were so spicey.

I'm so excited for Chungha's comeback. I know she's not really appreciated for her vocals since she's definitely a pop vocalist, but "Play"! I'm not even mad when she uses playback on music shows, she's in chest voice enough.

I can't believe I'm about to put a manlet on this list but Hui's got the spice. He's got the vocals. He deserves. That's all.

And how about Doyeon from Weki Meki. Siyeon from Dreamcatcher (omg that "Overdose" cover). Ailee, obviously. BB Girls Yujeong. Sistar just as a whole but especially Hyolyn, "Layin Low" changed me as a person and I swear it wasn't just the Nicole Kirkland choreo.

This post is, again, for my fellow One Piece and kpop enthusiasts.

So… one of my favorite groups is BTOB because I have excellent taste and I know talent when I see it. And one of my biases (and I say one of them because BTOB is the only group I have three biases in) is Minhyuk.

Well, if you were there the months after the announcement of the main casting of the live action, you'll remember that it was quite an event when Mackenyu posted some picture with another cast member or about opla in general because he almost never did. And because of that, despite being my Zoro, it took me a long time to get attached to him as the actor who was going to play him.

During that period of time, Minhyuk made his first solo comeback with Boom. And it was so devoid of Mackenyu content as Zoro during that time that, if Minhyuk could speak fluent English, I would have campaigned for him (Minhyuk is also an actor and he has played a swordsman before, so it was not a reach from my part).

(I'm so sorry Mackenyu, I was desperate and you were giving me nothing back then but I'm very happy with you now)

I want to illustrate my point of why Boom changed my life and why I saw Zoro in him. Besides, Minhyuk loves going to the gym, trains hard and takes really good care of his body.

And why am I telling you all this now? Because this video is going viral and I've had a relapse. I want to repeat and make it very clear that I am very happy with Mackenyu but sometimes a girl just needs her kpop boy to hit his tits for no reason to start spiraling.

Today's the birthday of Yook Sungjae!

Sungjae may appear as dumb as he is on the shows, with or without BTOB but he is really witty. His variety show skills are impressive.

Let's not talk about his skills. His skills are given. Let's talk about the love he gives to his members. I may be a new Melody but I've seen all of their reality shows. And I saw how tsundere Sungjae is. He is a bully kid. (Poor Changsub for being always the target). But the thing is his older brothers adore him. They would not adore him that much if they hate him for being a bully. I could say sometimes it's annoying but that's him. That is Sungjae. You just have to accept him as he is and you wouldn't find him annoying at all. There are times I want to hit him for being mean to Changsub (I'm an Omega, FYI) but I know he is just playing around. I actually find it cute whenever he is sulky because no one wants to play with him. 

Sungjae cherishes his members. Him being busy and all but still helps his members is one thing. Sending love to this guy because he deserves all the love in the world.

Anyway, I chose this song today because I really think this genre fits Sungjae. I can understand why he chose this song for Piece of BTOB project. He enjoys this kind of songs like how Changsub enjoys rock ballads.

Happy Birthday, Sungjae-ya! 

PS. I saw his birthday ad last night when I checked Beatcom 92. I was confused at first because I'm seeing Sungjae and not a shampoo product.

BTOB - ‘Piece of BTOB’ Album Review

I have been holding off on listening to the boys’ solo endeavors, so that I can listen to them all at once and get the full BTOB experience. I bet it’s going to be amazing blend of genres, so I can’t wait to get started! **warning: super long and in-depth**

At the End (Changsub)

What a lovely, amazing ballad track. I really like the “rock” feel that cropped up at 1:11. The added instrumentals were definitely unexpected, but it was super natural in that it broke up the sound nicely. And of course, Changsub sounds stunning. I do wish that when he composed the song, he made his vocals louder and the instrumentals more subdued. I feel like the electric guitar and drums swallowed his amazing voice (especially throughout the last half of the song) and it’s such a shame. Those high notes deserve to shine!

Fancy Shoes (Ilhoon)

I really like Ilhoon’s rapping style. When I just listen leisurely, it’s sounds rather calm and relaxing, but if I pay attention, he’s actually rapping so quickly. That’s pretty cool. Gotta say, I’m not the biggest fan of the chorus... It’s not bad, it just sounds like something I’ve heard before. However, as you can probably guess, I love his rap verses--especially that first verse. His diction and composed tone drew me right in.

THAT GIRL (PENIEL)

It’s my boy! The synth-y instrumentals sound so good, and that bass line though! It’s the perfect accompaniment to PENIEL’s amazing, distinct tone. I love the “That girl oo la la la” part, even if it is pretty repetitive. It’s just so catchy. I only wish the song was longer! It’s not even three minutes long... I feel like he could have done a bit more with the verses, especially in the build up to the choruses. I don’t know... can you blame a girl for wanting to listen to PENIEL’s voice a little longer?

SWIMMING (Hyunsik)

Goddamn. Hyunsik’s vocals get me every time. It’s so soothing, but raw and emotional... And those high notes at the climax with the electric guitar... Wow. However, I do feel like the ending was a little lack-luster in my opinion... I feel like something was missing? It’s like there’s no closure to this beautiful song. Nevertheless, I don’t think it really takes too much away from the overall track. It’s just so beautiful. I know I used the word “beautiful” like 10 times already, but there really is no other word to describe “SWIMMING.” It’s just art at its finest. Beautiful.

Purple Rain (Minhyuk ft. CHEEZE)

I absolutely love songs with a male and female vocal, so this track caught my interest right away! I really appreciate the simple string instrumentals because it accentuates the vocals so well. They both sound so creamy... like butter... and when Minhyuk’s smooth singing voice comes in, it knocks me away. Every time. Even though I’m expecting it. And I can’t not talk about the climax where he raps with such RAW EMOTION. However, afterwards, I do feel like the transition from Minhyuk to CHEEZE (from powerful to soft) is a bit jarring... I feel like if the producer had put a longer pause before going into the melody, it would have flowed a little more. Nevertheless, this is the PERFECT late-night song, or reading accompaniment song, or rainy-mood song, or studying song, or... it’s just the perfect song in general?

말해 (Tell Me by YOOK SUNG JAE)

How beautifully heartbreaking... I feel like I can hear every granule, every lilt, every emotion in SUNG JAE’s voice and I am so emotionally overwhelmed. Also, can we talk about the masterpiece that is the instrumentals? I love orchestral sounds and they definitely delivered it in this Disney soundtrack-esque song. I can’t believe it’s over four minutes long... I feel like the song ends way too quickly every time I listen to it!

이제 겨우 하루 (One Day by Seo Eunkwang)

INSTRUMENTALS. I LOVE THE STRINGS. Also, Eunkwang’s voice is so so so sweet. He portrays an avalanche of emotions through every note and every word. What a roller coaster. Yeah, I knew this project would end emotionally, but I wasn’t expecting THIS. A perfect night time listen or at the end of a nice romantic movie.

I really appreciate being able to listen to the boys shine on their own and learn the individual members’ styles. They’re so great. Nevertheless, I’m super excited for music from the whole group soon! Until then, I’ll have these tracks on repeat.
