Halloween is over, but doesn't have to be.

No need to be down, Halloween lovers. Here are a few things to look forward to in the coming months, to help you cope with PHDS, Post Halloween Depression Syndrome.

There is a FRIDAY THE 13TH in December.

NOSFERATU is being released in theaters on Christmas Day.

KRAMPUS! Krampusnacht is on Dec 5, but why not celebrate all month long?

CREEPMAS! also known as Hexmas, Cryptmas, or the Hallowdays. Whatever you want to call it, it is a celebration of all things spooky in the holidays.

For those of us in warmer areas, the weather is finally cool enough for us to go outside in all black clothes!

There is absolutely no reason you cannot keep the spooky vibes going during the holidays and the entire year by watching spooky horror movies or reading spooky books.

By the way, Halloween is a genre now, so go find some spooky music and podcasts to listen too.

There are dozens of holiday themed horror movies. Think of Thanksgiving, Black Christmas, Krampus, or Better Watch Out, to name a few.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: if you have to wave your degree in someone's face to prove your point, then you've objectively failed at proving your point. You quite literally might as well be saying "just trust me bro" for all the good that it does for your point.

Never mind the fact that this is the internet where I have limited to no means of proving your degree, even if you're telling the truth about having it, that doesn't mean you've successfully argued your point. This isn't a trump card you can just whip out once you're losing ground in an argument.

And mind you, I say this even knowing that whatever we're arguing about, I might very well be in the wrong about. Even if I am dead wrong, if your argument hinges on a piece of paper that claims you know something, that means fuck all in the grand scheme of things because you haven't done a good enough job of explaining why I'm wrong. Use that supposed knowledge of yours to explain why I'm wrong, don't just pretend to have an authority on the subject and act as if that's the end of all debate.

In an ideal scenario, the fact of your degree should never need to come up, but if it must then it should only do so after you've sufficiently convinced me or someone else of your point, and then used to further reinforce your reasoning after the fact.

In other words, it should be: "Here are all of the reasons and explanations for why you're wrong, and I'm right. Now that we have this understanding, if you're wondering why I know so much on this subject it's because I actually have a degree in it."

It should not be: "I have a degree in this subject and am therefore an expert, so everything I say is fact and everything you say is completely wrong and made up."

Sincerely, someone with a degree.
