Cultural Influences in Interior Design: How Global Traditions Shape Modern Spaces
Interior design is a reflection of our personal style, but it also serves as a canvas for cultural expression. From ancient traditions to contemporary interpretations, cultural influences play a significant role in shaping modern interiors. Understanding and incorporating these elements can lead to more meaningful and unique spaces. In this guide, we’ll explore how global traditions influence interior design and how to thoughtfully integrate these elements into modern spaces.
Understanding Cultural Influences in Interior Design
Definition and Significance of Cultural Influences
Cultural influences in interior design refer to the elements and aesthetics derived from various cultural traditions and practices. These influences can be seen in patterns, materials, colors, and layouts that reflect the heritage and values of different cultures. Incorporating cultural elements into interior design helps create spaces that are not only visually appealing but also rich in history and meaning.
How Cultural Heritage and Traditions Contribute to Design Aesthetics
Cultural heritage and traditions contribute to design aesthetics by providing a diverse palette of styles and motifs. Each culture has its unique approach to beauty and functionality, influencing everything from furniture design to decorative accents. By understanding and integrating these elements, designers can craft spaces that tell a story and resonate on a deeper level with their occupants.
Key Cultural Influences on Interior Design
Asian Influences
Japanese Zen: Minimalism, Natural Elements, and Tranquility
Japanese Zen design is renowned for its minimalist approach, emphasizing simplicity and calm. Key elements include:
– Clean Lines and Simple Forms: Furniture and decor are often characterized by their sleek lines and unadorned forms, creating a serene environment.
– Natural Materials: Wood, stone, and bamboo are commonly used, promoting a connection with nature.
– Neutral Color Palettes: Soft, muted colors are favored to enhance relaxation and tranquility.
Chinese Feng Shui: Harmony, Balance, and Auspicious Placements
Feng Shui, the ancient Chinese practice of arranging environments to promote harmony and balance, influences interior design through:
– Strategic Layouts: Furniture and decor are placed to optimize energy flow and create a balanced space.
– Symbolic Elements: Items like mirrors, plants, and water features are used to enhance positive energy and improve well-being.
– Color Significance: Colors are chosen based on their ability to attract good fortune and balance elements.
European Influences
Mediterranean Style: Warmth, Color, and Rustic Charm
Mediterranean design is known for its vibrant, inviting atmosphere, characterized by:
– Warm Color Schemes: Terracotta, deep blues, and warm earth tones create a cozy, sun-drenched feel.
– Textured Surfaces: Rough plaster walls, terracotta tiles, and wooden beams add rustic charm.
– Outdoor Living: Emphasis on creating seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces with courtyards and open patios.
Scandinavian Design: Simplicity, Functionality, and Light Spaces
Scandinavian design focuses on creating bright, functional spaces with:
– Minimalist Aesthetics: Clean lines, functional furniture, and uncluttered spaces are central to this style.
– Natural Light: Large windows and light color palettes maximize natural light and create airy, spacious environments.
– Cozy Textures: Incorporation of soft textiles like wool and linen adds warmth and comfort.
African Influences
Tribal Patterns and Textiles: Bold Colors, Geometric Patterns, and Traditional Crafts
African design is vibrant and diverse, featuring:
– Bright Colors and Patterns: Bold, geometric patterns and rich colors reflect traditional African textiles and art.
– Handcrafted Items: Artisanal crafts, such as woven baskets and carved wooden sculptures, are integral to the decor.
– Cultural Symbols: Symbols and motifs representing African heritage are used to infuse spaces with cultural significance.
Natural Materials: Use of Wood, Stone, and Handcrafted Items
Natural materials play a significant role in African interiors:
– Wood and Stone: These materials are used extensively in furniture and decor, reflecting the connection to the earth.
– Handcrafted Items: Unique, handcrafted pieces add authenticity and character to the space.
Middle Eastern Influences
Opulence and Luxury: Rich Fabrics, Intricate Patterns, and Vibrant Colors
Middle Eastern design is characterized by:
– Luxurious Textiles: Rich fabrics like silk and velvet are used for upholstery and drapes, adding opulence.
– Intricate Patterns: Detailed patterns and designs are prominent in rugs, tiles, and textiles.
– Vibrant Colors: Bold, deep colors such as gold, sapphire, and emerald create a lavish atmosphere.
Traditional Elements: Arches, Mosaics, and Lanterns
Traditional Middle Eastern elements include:
– Architectural Details: Arched doorways and intricately designed ceilings add historical depth.
– Decorative Mosaics: Colorful mosaic tiles are used in floors and walls to create stunning visual effects.
– Lanterns: Ornate lanterns and lamps provide ambient lighting and enhance the room’s aesthetic.
Incorporating Cultural Elements into Modern Interiors
Blending Traditions with Contemporary Styles
To create a cohesive look, blend cultural elements with modern design by:
– Mixing Styles: Combine traditional motifs with contemporary furniture and finishes.
– Focal Points: Use cultural items as focal points to add character without overwhelming the space.
Choosing Authentic Pieces
Select culturally significant items by:
– Researching Origins: Ensure authenticity by researching the history and origin of items.
– Supporting Artisans: Purchase from artisans and craftsmen who specialize in traditional techniques.
Respectful Integration
Integrate cultural elements respectfully by:
– Understanding Significance: Be aware of the cultural meaning behind items to avoid appropriation.
– Balancing Elements: Use cultural pieces in moderation to maintain a harmonious design.
Case Studies of Cultural Influences in Interior Design
Residential Interiors
Homes around the world showcase cultural influences, from Japanese Zen-inspired retreats to Mediterranean villas with vibrant interiors. Each design reflects the homeowner’s heritage and personal style, creating unique and personalized living spaces.
Commercial Spaces
Businesses often incorporate cultural elements to create distinctive environments. For example, a restaurant might use Middle Eastern decor to enhance the dining experience, while a boutique might feature African textiles to emphasize its global appeal.
Conclusion
Cultural influences enrich interior design by offering a diverse range of aesthetics and traditions. By understanding and thoughtfully incorporating these elements, you can create spaces that are not only visually captivating but also meaningful and unique. Embrace global traditions to shape modern interiors that reflect both personal style and cultural appreciation.

I thought too hard about Among Us and now I have serious concerns regarding that reactor
#among us#radiationposting#ice speaks#WHY DOES YOUR SCRAM NEED TWO PEOPLE#DID THE IMPOSTERS BUILD THAT#every design idea i came up with had at least one fatal flaw and the solution also had their own fatal flaws#that's probably on me but still#i came to the hilarious conclusion of 'you better save all that xenon for later because you WILL need it'#'but it will decay' bold of you to assume that the reactor can go that long without threatening to blow up#i might study nuclear engineering actually because no sane person thinks about this for so long

Hi guys, this is usually what a doodle page ends up looking like <3 (oh, and @ancha-aus thought you might like this! Not writing but certainly fuel to my fire lol-)
This one is New Age filled!!! (Close-ups abd Lore beneath the cut!)
1) Night and Cross!
Night is actually very clingy once he's a teen. He doesn't usually realize it, but around the castle he'll snake to be closer to his Knights so long as there's no one he needs to keep his composure infront of is nearby. Cross is the one who's not used to physical touch (when it's not Ink ofc) so Night in his personal bubble makes his heart melt but also scares tf out of him <3
2) Error and Night's Meeting!
Error was carrying his whole life on his back and trying not to get arrested for unintentional property damage at this point, so when he saw the chance to get back at his brother and prove he was strong enough? Yeah, he got that on chance instantly. And was VERY smug when Nightmare chose him. (Also, Error is wearing gloves, so less Haphephobia)
3) Dream and Blue designs!
I think these are good tentative designs! Dream probably has a more regal fit, but he likes to play up that rugged exile look- He's inspired by Archers, while Blue takes on that classic Knightly-vibe. Their equipment is mostly stolen from Night's troops or brought with them from Blue's home kingdom.
Also, Dream is approx Killer's height at this point, shorter than Cross and *much* shorter than Apple!Nightmare. (Hc that Skeletons tend to be tinier in stature thanks to weird monster beauty standards. Horror and Geno's fam are outliers.)
4) Horror and Dust designs!
Horror is naturally a very *large* monster. He's very malnourished when Nightmare meets him, but by the time he's a Knight Nightmare has made sure that's no longer the case. He actually loves comfy, simple clothes, but to play up the whole 'strong mysterious' bit he wears a more barbaric Knight's garb. He doesn't mind acting scary, it's more fun that way :]. Dust is very very small, and envies horror sometimes for his size, but his tiny stature let's him control his body and move a lot quicker. He's very much based on a rogue, and usually covers the lower part of his face w/ a black cloth, and the upper part w/ his hood or mask. Dust only removes both to bathe, eat, or relax in a safe location. (Ignore that I can't draw the stupid gaster blaster lmao-)
These last two were space-fillers, but Cross and his Borzoi (Windmill, otherwise known as Milly (Killer named her-)) and really bad first wips of Ccino! I think Ccino was a chubby, happy toddler, but lost a lot of 'weight' (bone mass? Magic?) due to stress and pressure and bad eating habits. So it isn't until a while after the Coronation that he starts to relax abd feel safe enough to eat normal meals (Nightmare used to guilt him into eating snacks together, but as his boss (and younger brother) he can encourage it more often). By the time Killer shows he's still not quite healthy, but he's better. As more weight is lifted off his shoulders, the better he is. (That 'beauty' most people saw was a more stereotypical slimness, but Killer never stopped seeing Ccino as beautiful-) I think he never looked traditionally underweight, so no one noticed, and it was only much later that Night processed it. (And maybe it's why Dream hardly recognized him later on-)
#new age au#I love showing mundane life things-#and also these designs beamed into my brain#I can't draw Ccino for anything but the others? yeag#Blue is definitely my fave. and just like every au I will draw Blue perfect the first time and draw Dust 6 billion times 😔#Horror is kinda banger too tho#makes me laugh to imagine Horror picking up Dust mid-fight out of convenience and Dust weighs nothing to him#(also this size difference is exactly why Dust and Horror fight in the non-magic training. and why Horror accidentally obliterated his#shoulder later on lmao- Dust needs to be able to dodge any enemy. Horror needs to aim for small and quick targets.)#(Meanwhile Cross is the newest and Killer the oldest and if Cross adapts to Killer then he'll adapt to the others more easily.)#oh! and Ccino w/ his arc? I think I really like the idea of a Ccino with a plump body-type. but that conflicts with my vidion of Ccino kinda#losing track of eating and being co-erced by adults to skip meals just enough to make him the 'right amount' of curvy#so when Nightmare takes over it's a habit he's so used to he hardly notices that he's doing it. but. Night picks up on it because Ccino is#almost akways with him. their relationship is very much Ccino giving his life to help Night#but it's also Night recognizing that and giving it back to Ccino along with more the moment he can#just smth smth this au is full of fit and exercized people and I think Ccino deserves some comfort and healing and positivity <3#also I am SO fond of Nightmare getting up in people's bubbles. he does it most to Killer and Ccino for obvious reasons but#god forbid a noble be talking behind his back because he *will* twist around and shove under his knight's arms or sides just to#read them the riot act or stare them down <3#and I think when he was an adult Night was... kinda like the big brother? like. not an experienced one by any means. but he wasn't *not*#affectionate then either. he was better at being serious about it and more discreet. but like#Nervous Cross escorting him in public? Night nudges his shoulder briefly with a Tendril to try and comfort him. Dust having a magic overload#? personal Training against just Night so there was no risk of harming anyone else. then snacks and tea after.#Horror is homesick? Woah look at that a scheduled trip back to visit with Crop and side-track back to Horror's village? huh?? wild...#Killer upset at all? Night will find a solution. just you wait. a cat. two cats. perhaps even a cat in a little sweater? or y'know. just a#chat or a combat?#Nightmare showed his affections but was just more distant about it.#Oh also. all four were used to tendrils lifting/tugging them subconsciously. usually during trainings to avoid them hurting eachother by#mistake in their early days. Killer misses it sometimes

musicians should make it a point to have daylight shows instead of only nighttime concerts, send tweet
#''but lu!'' you say. ''what about people with jobs!''#to this I say: do a frickin saturday or sunday daylight show#it's more accessible for people with light sensivities of whatever sort#bc dark shows are going to have flashing lights. lighting design and production for concerts is an art form#it's an absolutely genius artform and one that I adore with all my heart#however it does end up being unintentionally somewhat hostile to those with epilepsy or other light sensivities#so the solution I think would be more daylight shows bc you don't have that kind of lighting there#like at the very least do A Daylight Show regionally?? in each area they're going to??? idk#like I know it would be more work for the musicians but what's doing one slightly different show/rearranging shows a bit#for someone who does that for a living#yknow??#idk I just saw something about the eras tour movie and I realized that I don't know if TS ever does daylight shows/anymore#and it got me thinking about this#there are tons of people who can't go to concerts bc of the flashing lights. but if there were shows in the daytime wouldn't#that be better for those people??? wouldn't that be great??#also I don't personally have any of these issues so if I'm wrong on stuff/anyone who does have experience with this wants to weigh in#please do I'd love to know if this would be helpful#Lu rambles#music#kinda#idk what else to tag this skfnskfja#epilepsy#light sensitivity

really actually kind of enjoy how the big lore moments are sort of quiet on a singular stream (or a small group!) instead of the events solely being the lore; i think there would be this hesitation to develop anything solo if the server reinforced this idea that Big Lore could only happen during scheduled events and days. instead the more narrative-progressing moments (take the baghera hybrid experiments revelation or the philza birdnapping for recent example) are very low-key and almost unhyped up— there’s no expectation for that kind of lore necessarily at the time which makes it more rewarding to experience as a viewer. big fan of how they do the events as player bonding time rather than serious narrative progression because it allows all the players (especially the ones who don’t engage in the rp side that much) to participate and get to know each another more; it’s very neat it’s really smart it’s nicely executed
#eleanor.txt#qsmp#tag expansion time get ready for the nuance#do i think that the events could be executed better in terms of like. coding / design. yes on occasion#i’ve seen some frustration that some players don’t take the events seriously enough and that it’s frustrating as a viewer#which i understand and empathize with i think there’s definitely A solution somewhere but i’m not sure exactly what it is tbh#i try not to criticize what i cannot personally solve i think they’re doing their best with what they’ve got#i also do believe that like the Expectation for Big Lore almost always backfires#it’s something u cannot win i think . the expectation will always in some way let you down#(especially re: character involvement seriousness of the stream amount progressed narratively contribution to general plot etc etc#there’s so many variables when you expect ‘lore’ and what that means to people)#i think there’s always some disappointed group when Big Lore starts to be hyped up & teased#whereas i see a lot less general complaints when it’s an unexpected moment (other than people upset they missed it—#arguably unavoidable whether you advertise the stream as lore focused or not)#there’s still Lore during the events things still occur information is still exchanged#but it’s not structured on lore. lore isn’t the foundation for the event it just occurs by implication#anyway. very good job qsmp impressive stuff very enjoyable

hi!! i know u talk a lot about aromanticism a lot on here, but i don’t think i’ve ever seen u talk about aromantic anthy. would u mind discussing/elaborating on it or linking to a post where u do because i’m very curious!!
i got a similar ask half a year ago or something ridiculous like that on my main blog, but i’d like to really do justice to my url right now and explain it in more concrete terms.
i will say, it’s important to bear in mind that this reading of anthy’s character is very much informed by my own experiences, and a lot of those experiences are ones im not keen to talk in depth about. but you know. let’s make some nebulous gestures towards ideas of being traumatised, being autistic, struggling to meaningfully connect with others and honestly not really wanting to do such because of how they treat you.
like ive previously said, an aromantic perspective on the world would, i think, really benefit anthy. when youve lived your whole life experiencing violence at the hands of these patriarchal structures, of which romance is absolutely one, it’s kinda like. damn. im uncomfortable buying into those ideas.
anthy also has this lovely line in ep 19 where she says to utena ‘romance either happens or it doesn’t’ and it’s just sooooooo. so very interesting to me, actually, that anthy would say something so black and white about ‘romance’, a topic that anthy knows better than a lot of rgu characters is hopelessly confused and arbitrary and often enabling violence. and utena (fellow aromantic gaybo) says 'yeah, i know, but...'. these simplifications, these elisions. what is and isn't articulated. but what? maybe things are much more complicated than we'd like to think.
anyway enough of that tangent. one thing i as a trans and aromantic person always return to when discussing trans and aromantic readings of characters/texts more broadly is that there's no singular piece of evidence that can really cement these readings as Undeniable. it's like. okay. there's a critique of romance as a patriarchal structure in revolutionary girl utena. there's an ambiguity about anthy's feelings towards characters like utena, where there is clearly a queer connection but it takes shape in unconventional and complex ways. me, i'm aromantic, i see all of these pieces and i go oh well that's because she's an aromantic lesbian. you know, there's plenty of little moments i can evidence but those moments can be used to argue for an alloromantic lesbian anthy too. romance is a very arbitrary thing and i think everyone should take their own approach to it unapologetically. of course, mine is that it's hellish and i want nothing to do with it, but im just one guy. and im okay with that. i feel strongly about this reading and it is personal, and id be dishonest to say otherwise, but i do also find that it's well-evidenced in the text. as one of my lecturers once said, don't worry about authorial intent, it isn't real <3
#and authorial intent is NOT real i really cant emphasise that one enough#like it's fun to engage with the stuff a writer/director/whoever thinks about their art#and it can be very useful#but it's not definitive. that's not the last word on the topic#like did be papas consciously write any rgu character as aromantic? idk probably not#but i find such powerful aromantic narratives and themes coming through in this show#in how it chooses to examine relationships and power dynamics and the pervasive nature of romance as a concept#how it is so easily unequal how it is DESIGNED to be unequal how it offers chivalry and safety to mitigate harm#which it directly enables. makes easier#and that doesnt mean that aromanticism is the only solution bc you know. some ppl do feel romantic attraction#but it's like ok let's rethink 'romance'. let's combat amatonormativity let's challenge the relationship hierarchy that privileges#families and romantic partners in such a dangerous dangerous way#and i see all of that in this show and it resonates so deeply with my experiences many of which pertain to aromanticism#and you know. this show made me accept that im aromantic. so i think that speaks to how strongly these themes come through#but i digress. i find it hard to talk about this stuff bc its deeply personal and quite arbitrary#and also every time i do someone sends me anon hate about how i hate gay people. which is so cool btw please keep doing that#i didnt realise that loving being gay and loving gay people and loving when gay people love each other made me homophobic /s#just to clarify for the second time that is all sarcasm im gay and aromantic and i dont have time for arophobia here#anywayyyyy#im aware of all the asks ppl have sent me. im working on it i prommy <3#dais.txt#dais talks aspec

Hey, I have wondered what your icon was for the longest time, I always assumed it was a screenshot of an anime character but I couldn't clearly see it. So I finally decided to see what it was and I have SO MANY questions. Like, what is GOING ON???
Respectfully
So, there’s this paper doll gacha game I used to play called Love Nikki. The way the game handles alternate poses is to have certain coats/bracelets/dresses/shoes etc which erase the base model’s arms and/or legs and apply their own. The various pose items do not check if you have a different item that also applies new arms/legs, so if you have, for instance, a coat and a bracelet that both apply alternate arms, Nikki will have four arms. My pfp is Nikki with the maximum number of limbs I could give her, at the time that I played the game actively.
#love nikki#the story is also wild#nikki gets isekaid to a world where an ancient blood curse causes people to suffer enormous pain if they intentionally harm another person#so instead they solve all their conflicts with fashion battles#this has caused society to become heavily stratified based on access to high quality clothing talent for design and styling#and physical appearance#the main villain has decided that the solution to this is to break the blood curse so people can solve conflicts with murder instead

🌊 the problem with too much repetition
say for example you have a ritual of wishing someone peace, you say "peace be with you" every single day upon greeting someone on the street
but if this ritual becomes too common and is repeated too often it eventually gets taken for granted, it becomes unconscious and therefore loses its conscious meaning and eventually people forget what it was originally adopted for in the first place
this is dangerous! because if the ritual exists for a reason, it's important to preserve the reason for the solution just as much as the solution is important
in other words, documenting problems is just as important as documenting solutions!!!! if all you do is document solutions you're going to end up creating a situation where all the solutions get taken for granted and then you're set up for a huge fall from grace
beware of documenting all the solutions, but none of the problems...! this is when people start to take all the solutions for granted until one day somebody decides to say "ok i've had enough of these boring old solutions" and then they literally created a bajillion problems nobody could remember how to solve anymore
THIS IS WHY IT IS NECESSARY TO REINVENT SOLUTIONS AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN
because if you don't they will get taken for granted and eventually someone blind to the value of what they have in front of them will make the mistake of throwing away paradise in favor of some more interesting looking disaster
so it's safer, to intentionally explore fictional disasters constantly specifically so you can learn from them and so you can keep everyday solutions fresh and new in everyone's eyes

How to Decorate Your Home on a Budget: Expert Tips
Beautifying the house could be quite a satisfying experience; it could also be very expensive. There are several ways to enhance space without spending too much money. With just a few simple tips, beautification can be done wonderfully and inexpensively. No matter if you are living in Dubai or anywhere else, these ideas will work for you. Let’s delve into how you can achieve modern interior design in Dubai while remaining on a budget.
Start with a Plan
Before buying anything, have a decent plan. Think about which rooms need your attention. These will be the areas where you should focus your attention first. By knowing exactly where to start, it will keep you well-organised. It will also help to avoid buying unnecessary things. If refurbishment work in Dubai is considered, then this needs to be well-planned.
Set a Budget
The prime rule in every project is budget setting. Determine the budget for the whole house and then break down further into how much you want to spend in each room or section of the house. This helps you avoid overspending in a particular area. Never make purchases out of your budget, no matter how attractive the deals might come.
Repurpose Old Furniture
Repurposing is one of the cheapest ways of saving. Give your old furniture a whole new look instead of buying new ones. Paint or refinish wooden things to give them a new look. Put new cushions or new fabric on sofas and chairs. Refurbishment work in Dubai usually involves renovation work with old furniture. It saves money and is also eco-friendly.
Shop Second-Hand
Buying second hand is one of the smartest ways to decorate on a budget. It wouldn’t be hard to find shops in Dubai that sell used furniture and decor that are still serviceable. You may even check out online good deals. Most second-hand shops do carry items that provide uniqueness to your home. With a little creativity, it is by all means easy to use these pieces in your modern interior design in Dubai.
DIY Decor
The cost is much lower when you make your decor. You can make wall art, cushion covers, or shelves with simple DIY projects that add personal touches. Of course, for that, you don’t need to be a pro in these things. Many easy-to-follow tutorials are available online. Adding uniqueness and charm to a home won’t cost much with DIY decor.
Focus on One Room at a Time
It can be overwhelming to decorate your entire house at once. Try sticking with one room at a time. That way, you will be able to focus on little projects within that room. It is a whole lot easier to manage and keep within your budget. Then, when you have completed one room, simply begin working on another. Your home will slowly but surely come together in sections.
Use Paint for a Quick Makeover
Of all renovations, painting is one of the most inexpensive methods. In the snap of your fingers, a fresh coat of paint can renew and brighten up your home. Select colours that delight you and complement your furniture. Lighter shades can make rooms appear larger. Use bold colours to add personality to your space. Whether it be for a traditional look or modern interior design in Dubai, paint does the magic.
Update Lighting
Good lighting can completely alter the feel of a room. It does not have to be expensive, as reasonably priced solutions can be found at local Dubai stores. Add some lamps, fairy lights, or pendant lights. Changes in lighting give the home either a cosy or classy look without too much expense. In Dubai’s modern interior design, lighting plays an important role.
Rearrange Your Furniture
Sometimes all you need is a different setup. Rearranging your furniture can completely change the look of a room. Try moving things around in several ways to see how the pieces fit together better. You can create the illusion of a bigger space without spending one dollar. This would be a no-cost solution to give your house interior a reboot or update.
Invest in Statement Pieces
With budget decorating, you only need to invest in a few statement pieces. These will be items that take centre stage and set the room off. It could be a pretty mirror, a nice rug, or a piece of art. You can keep your decor at a minimum and fairly inexpensive by splurging on a few key items.
Add Greenery
They will lighten up any place and bring colour and freshness into your apartment. One does not have to invest much money in buying expensive plants. You can easily get indoor plants at reasonable prices from local markets in Dubai. Another option is that you get the small plant and then see it grow. Greenery enhances modern interior design in Dubai.
Incorporate Personal Items
Your home should reflect your personality. Add things into your environment that are personal like photos, souvenirs from places you have been, or things that you have made yourself. These make your house a home. And it doesn’t cost a lot if you are just using things you already have.
Utilise Affordable Textiles
Curtains, cushions, and rugs can give your space a new face, literally. You need not use expensive fabrics; plenty of pocket-friendly materials are available in Dubai. Check for sales and discount stores that will offer affordable textiles. Select the colours and patterns that blend with the overall theme.
Hire Professional Help for Key Areas
Sometimes, larger projects may call for professional assistance. Professional hired refurbishment work in Dubai will ensure quality results. If your budget can bear the brunt, consider professional assistance for the work which includes electrical or major renovation work, as it saves time and safety hazards. A well-done job will save money in the long run, too.
Keep It Simple
Less is more when it comes to decorating on a budget. Avoid cluttering up your space, but rather have as few items as possible. Make use of the minimalist approach in design to give your interior a modern, clean look. You do not need lots of everything; what you should focus on is the quality of the items. Simplicity is a key aspect of modern interior design in Dubai.
Conclusion
Decorating your home on a budget does not imply that one should compromise on style. Here is how you can get a beautiful home without having to break into your bank for some expert tips listed below. Be it doing a full refurbishment work in Dubai or just updating a room, careful planning plays the keystone. Repurpose, shop second-hand, and focus on DIY projects to save money. Personal touches and statement pieces are also important to be added to your home. If done creatively and with much patience, your house can look great and stylish within a very small budget

i need to draw kh. i need to draw oc art. i need to draw like some sort of portfolio piece that shows off all my impressive technical skills while also being an original character design that doesn’t raise questions or strike anything taboo. but i don’t have the inspiration for that
#i guess the solution is draw my safest most mary sue-ish looking oc (plume) doing something normal#(normie person i’m giving my elevator pitch doesn’t need to know she’s insane & will beat someone to death with a magic baseball bat)#i’ve been trying to draw her for months now. but i keep getting sidetracked and turning it into something else#peach rambles#ugh man it’s so frustrating. like LOOK at some of the stuff i’ve done this year. i can’t show off any of it#i mean like. strelitzia is safe. strelitzia’s design is normal and appealing and not obviously kingdom hearts the disney rpg#but it is still fanart. and apparently you can’t sell yourself as a promising artist w fanart#bc they want to see that you have the imagination required to create an original design#(<— is not even trying to do art professionally. why do i care about this?? idk#maybe just in case. maybe i just want the potential to brag professionally just in case)#none of my own oc drawings atm are presentable#idkkkkkk#ugh

sometimes watching tv is good :) i've been watching home decor and home organising shows for the past couple of weeks, and today is my very first day of summer holiday (perks of being a teacher) and i immediately started reorganising and cleaning up my home
#i'm so excited#i'm an expert at depression rooms#my space gets cluttered there's stuff on the floors#actually you can't even see the floors you can't take a step without stepping on something#and i hate it i'm an organised person at heart i need clarity and i need designated spaces and i need a system#it's just that when life gets overwhelming i tend to let my home get that way too#i don't have the energy to clean and tidy up#and let's face it i tend to buy a lot of stuff#mostly yarn and other craft supplies#i have SO MUCH yarn#and it's taking over everything#including my bed#i barely have any room left on my bed to sleep it's becoming a problem#so i'm finding solutions#i'm buying clear drawers and coloured boxes so i can get my shit organised#but still have a cute and functioning home#utilising every bit of wall space in a way that's efficient and doesn't feel cluttered#basically i'm trying to get everything contained to the wall areas with new storage and repurposing existing storage#to free up the center of the room#i actually love cleaning up so when my space is a mess you know it means i am also a mess#the only thing i don't like is doing the dishes#oh how i wish i had a dishwasher#anyway. i'm excited to have a clean and tidy room soon#we'll tackle the dishes later lol#rain.stuff

idk how to explain it but a rage-driven desire to change the world coupled with the anticipation of finally dealing with something weighing on me for a long time and the relief that something can be done about that thing but also. racing thoughts and being unable to not act Right Now or say no to any of the ideas I have on how this can be done, while also having a breakthrough and processing a bunch of things that have happened to me and how they impacted me all of a sudden—that’s not normal ‘period is about to hit’ behaviour/experience is it?
#see I really don’t think I’m manic rn. I think this’ll wear off to something normal in a couple of days#but it’s also that feeling of having repressed something for so long and it comes out all at once and I feel lighter and empowered#that’s the feeling. empowerment. with a side of desperation but the desperation isn’t fearful; it’s more like hypomania#or the excitement of being stuck on something for so long and finally! having a lead! for a potential solution!#I went through all stages of grief And a very rushed half of the design process in the last 45 minutes. this should not be possible#rapid mood shifts mixed with exploding after bottling soemthing up (but the rage is positive for me bc I made it that way) and underlying#mixed depression and hypomania with constant stress on top? would that do it? Is the hypomania coming back? or just my personality?#or a mix of the adhd and pda profile that I spiral in positive thoughts and get super energised as well as in negative ones (the latter les#when all I can think of is how therapy works too slow for me. is that something that needs to be accommodated or a symptom?#personal mental health tag#bipolar#bpd#throwing it in these tags so someone can weigh in. conditions I more or less meet criteria for#or is it unlocking a memory and facts about myself that I repressed via dissociation? could be many things. I’m excited. I want to sleep#and I’m about to double dose on my melatonin to try that sounds like a bad idea. even it can’t kick whatever excitement chemical in my body#(also I’m obv not gonna take more than double)#but imagine feeling trapped all the time. then you find hope to feel free. of course you’d be excited
