OHHHHH LIL MAN#he looks almost completely black but he seems to have these slightly darker stripes which are hard to see..??#THERES ALSO AN ENORMOUS MAINE COON NICKNAMED THE KING OF THE ROOM? HES HUGE JESUS CHRIST#made friends with a curious white and orange one who looked like he was thinking of pouncing down on me#and a very VERY pretty white and silver point with blue eyes who was happy to greet everyone#my brother was stuck on the floor bc a Persian that snubbed everyone else looked at him like ‘you. your lap is MINE’#and kept him there for 20 minutes. another cat wanted a turn but the Persian claimed him ;w;#my brother was popular with the cats bc they could probably sense he’s the calmest person in the room LOL#diary#yapping#cats#I wanna go back again sometime…

There is an alternate universe where i pursued music as a career and got really into microtonal music
#the kneejerk reaction of 'oh god thats out of tune' is SO strong in my brain bc ive was classically trained#but also we just. dont have microtonality in western music. we have our 12 notes and our 7 modes#but like. persian classical music has 50+ modes#we've been robbed of so much variation of sound and mood and style by not embracing microtonality#youtube suggested this iranian musician's channel that im about to fall headfirst into#i think this guy plays like. Evry Instrument lmao#and he studies diff musical traditions from around the world and hes very good at explaining things#anyways. music good. i like it. makes my ears happy#my brain is chewing on microtones like a bag of crunchy chips

Really disheartening when most of the "popular" animated movies taking place in west asia are about war, revolution or just generally orientalist D: Hopefully one day that'll change !!
