”#look i know its so cliche, #but truly Rose Quartz is the personification of haunting the narrative, #she haunts the narrative so much that there are two of her haunting the narrative in separate ways at the same time, #the choices Pink/Rose made define the whole narrative from start to finish, #rose quartz is a character in every story steven’s ever been told, #she is the expectation he is held to and lives in a giant painting above his living room, #she literally sits in a giant portrait over Steven’s living room, #practically worshipped by the people who adored her and never knew her, #pink diamond is the mystery looming in every noticeable omission, #for so long in the show nobody even mentions her, #the hole where she should be is massive and omnipresent, #messily cut out of the story by people who can’t bear to look at her absence, #including herself, #but so omnipresent that the holes paint a picture as vivid as paint”

obsessed with characters whose absence plagues the narrative. characters who were gone before the story even started but who continue to haunt the narrative, whose absence can be felt through every step, characters who cast a shadow on others no matter how much they try to move on, who the narrative itself mourns.

I wanted to draw them ever since I first saw them a few years ago, I'm only getting to it now. I also thought I'd found a new job, but even though the person who interviewed me seemed to like me I was still turned down. Oh well
