As you're doing the rest of your witchy woo magic homework (as you like to call it since no one's stopping you, and you're a four hundred year old heretic that doesn't need to take the course. Alaric just doesn't need to know how you're not actually only a teenager who just got turned) your door opens.

Looking to the other side of your dorm, you see Hope shutting the door after walking in, towards you. "Hey baby, what's up-okay" you start saying before she pulls you up and drags you over to your bed.

She gently pushes you down so your lying on the made bed before climbing ontop of you. She lowers most of her weight on you and nuzzles her head into your chest, grumbling something about its going to be a horrible week.

"Why's it going to be a horrible week?" You softly ask, wrapping your arms around her, one around her back, and the other holding the back of her head.

She groans, her face scrunched up, "ughhh, stupid tummy. I got my period this morning and it hasn't stopped torturing me all day" she says and brings one of her hands down and starts to punch at her stomach.

You quickly stop her from hurting herself, "that'll just make it worse, how about this" you kiss the top of her head. You maneuver he onto her side, getting a glare from her about being moved away from you, and you bring your hand down to her stomach.

As soon as your hand rested on her cramping stomach, she let's out a happy whimper, followed by a sigh. "I've been walking around, feeling like someone has been kicking me to no end when you could've done this the whole time?!" She exclaims, degrading herself for not coming to complain and get cuddles from you sooner.

"Oh my poor baby" you smile and re-wrap your other arm around her upper back. She nuzzles into your shoulder, "you're soooo lucky you don't get periods, it's fricken torture!" She shakes her head.

"I agree with you there, I'm glad I don't get them. But if you think about it, it's a free ticket to getting cuddles from me for however long you want" you chuckle when you see her face light up at the realization.

Do you ever have that feeling where, despite your distance with your religion, there's still moments where sparks of what you were bought up with, return?

I'm from a religious family, but I'm not in touch with my own religion. Yet there's me calling in the name of the Lord before and after I eat. It's like this lingering piece that I never turn to look at but somehow slips into my ordinary life.

I don't really know you that much, or your religious status. But seeing your religious talks made me want to bring this up.

I don't even know if I make sense here- just- ignore this if you want to, I don't know.

Hmmm I think so. My whole thing with it is really complicated haha. I still go to church every Sunday, though I prefer doing volunteer work with the kids over listening to the sermon. I pray before I eat out of habit. I find myself quoting the bible more often than I open to read it (though this is changing because of all the times I look for references lol). There's a resentment that I get whenever it's brought up, especially around my family. I find myself immediately on guard the minute it becomes subject of conversation. Sometimes at night I'll pace around and just talk. I don't know if I'm talking to myself or to god or whoever but. I'll talk. I think I still believe in him. I definitely believe that there's something out there. I don't think the question is of belief as much as it is of care. Do I care enough to try?

I'll say this though. Whatever I'm doing right now has gotten me to think more about bible and religion than I have in the past few years. So. That's fun! Who knew trying to explore something your own way instead of the way forced onto you by your environment gives your room to feel everything out without any preexisting pressure?
