In December 1959, designer Robert Brownjohn was commissioned to create a sculpture for the lobby/exhibition space of the soon-to-open world headquarters of Pepsi-Cola, a masterpiece of the International Style by Natalie de Blois.
The result: Pepsi-Cola Christmas Ribbon, made of thousands of Christmas ornaments and chicken wire, is the greatest thing to occupy the space. And I only found out about it fifteen minutes ago from a skeet on Bluesky by Peter Huestis.

1970s Sleazy Older Guy Lights Cigarette for Young Girl by Vinnie DeVille Via Flickr: Vintage image of a sleazy older guy lighting a cigarette for a young girl. No doubt he is trying to impress the young lady with his worldliness by lighting her smoke, and his owning a Zippo lighter. His work clothes, and the vintage product placement Pepsi-Cola banners, suggest that he is an employee, and their location is either a bowling alley or a roller skating rink. This found photograph is from the private collection of an unknown and/or unknowing art collector. It’s always a thrill when it’s from Vinnie DeVille!

Well. Ain't that somethin'.
Back in November, I was having serious dental trouble and also got sick with some crud (no, not the crud), so I stopped drinking cola entirely. I stayed with it up until January 31st when I tried both Coca-Cola and Pepsi-Cola from a fountain at a newly-branded Circle K. Both colas tasted flat and bland… I then decided to try my trust Sam's Cola today. It tasted wrong.
… I think that after not drinking cola for so long, I've somehow lost my taste for it entirely. But the caffeine still gives me a headache, ironically. So… yeah. That's kind of a double hint that I should give up on cola.
Now, what am I gonna do with all this Sam's Cola that I bought…?
