Filmmaker Park Inje made the most of his recent trip to the United States to attend the Critics Choice Awards, where his Disney+ K-drama “Moving” was nominated for Best Foreign Language Series.

“After I arrived, I went to the Guitar Center in Hollywood,” the director said in an interview over Zoom. “I was really excited to see all the guitars used by legendary artists, including the guitar that Eddie Van Halen used to use. My wife and I are going to explore L.A. a bit and we are kind of interested in seeing Las Vegas and places like that. And the Grand Canyon. Then we’ll head back home to South Korea.”

Prior to directing the superhero series, Park had helmed season two of the Netflix hit series “Kingdom.” This interview was conducted in Korean and translated into English.

I feel totally normal about the fact that Joowon rushed to bail Jeongje out of a (mental) hospital not just once but twice. There's this guy with mental health issues being sent away by his family less for his own well-being as the priority and more to not become an "inconvenience" to said family and— And Joowon sees this and suddenly he's 7 again seeing his mother for the last time and so he does everything not to be as powerless as he was then. Comparative reading of Mansfield Park and Jane Eyre? As both being stories of impoverished wards being mistreated by their adoptive families? Both made to feel inferior to their cousins? Both faulted for physical traits they did not choose--Fanny's poor health and Jane's plain features? Except Fanny succeeded by embracing conventionality and morality while Jane succeeded by choosing unconventionality and spirituality? And Fanny's story exists in a world where mercy and redemption aren't really an option while Jane's story relies on it?

The way Jihyuk's confession is tinged with such sweet sorrow... Let me explain.

I'm probably off base and just. Reading into the acting choices that Na Inwoo is making right now, but like. It's so sad. Like, he's saying it and you as the audience knows he means it, but there's this sense of "ah, but i know she won't actually say yes even if i bare my all to her". And he's doing just that. He's laying it down on the table for her to see that he's absolutely sincere about her and he is 100% sure and serious about her.

But what thrills me to no end about his confession is how he also lays out the boundaries for her without disrespecting himself. He tells her to take her time to think about it but not to reject him outright, and how he won't pressure her or push the issue, and in the next moment actively SHOWS her and articulates to her that he won't be jumping into the same taxi as she is and will be taking the next one.

Jihyuk continuously walks the talk when he tells her she can rely on him. He fulfils his promise to teach her martial arts and gives actionable advice. He is quick to notice (something Jiwon picks up on) that her proposal is getting hijacked and tacitly plays along. Of course, you could argue that him being from the future has already given him insight that the Manager in charge is gonna land himself in hot water, BUT STILL :D

Is it any wonder how he is the greenest green of flags? ;A; Also sidenote, the way Na Inwoo was acting out the confession scene reminded me a lot of this very beloved cinematic moment of mine

And to a slighter degree, it reminded me of the moment where Hua Cheng tells Xie Lian "... I am your most ardent devotee"

how would ga-yeong react to becoming a big sister? 🥺 she has two younger siblings now! (considering gi-hun apologized and patched up with her. it took a while, but they're doing better than ever). also crazy how she has another step-dad now (inho).

grandma geum-ja already showing up uninvited to their house to make nourishing soups, help out in any way she can, and bond with the babies but it's all good 🥹 young-sik says he isn't ready for marriage or children so this is the closest she gets as for having her own grandbabies. also she brings with her three daughter figures too: hyeon-ju, young-mi, and jun-hee 🥹 they're very excited to see the babies as well. hyeon-ju recently took up knitting so she gives gi-hun the cutest & smallest pairs of socks and hats as gifts!

uncle jun-bae and big bro dae-ho in the room making everyone's day even better with their humor and jokes. like real slapstick comedy sometimes, they're such a sweet and funny duo.

she and gihun would need to have a serious conversation tho. i feel like he'd explain certain things, like how he was desperate for money to pay for his mother's treatment and had to do some things to earn it but he couldn't forgive himself for what he did or saw so he decided to pull away from everyone. they would also need to talk abt gihun's mother bc she obviously loved gayeong and gayeong probably loved her in return.

gayeong would understand in a way, bc she seems like a very mature young girl and she is empathetic like gihun, but she wouldnt immediately trust him again. they'd have to build that up again and the truth is that gihun's relationship with inho does bring some stability into their lives, strangely enough.

but yes! she has a new stepdad and a step uncle and a step grandmother even and she really really likes them, but she really loves her younger siblings 💖 those babies are so precious to her and they helped rebuild her relationship with gihun. also, i can see inho kinda looking at gayeong as the baby he lost with his wife (i have a hc that they were having a girl, which adds another parallel to inho and gihun as foils).

everyone from their team in the games would love the babies so much, i agree with everything u said!🥰 and when junhee's baby is born then its like they have triplets since they are so close in age, and you know that daeho, hyunju and geumja would fist fight to hold the babies but thankfully there is one baby for each of them!

and for some angst - i definitely think gihun thought about sangwoo, saebyeok and ali, of how happy he'd be if they were there with him to meet his babies and his new family 🥲
