You're right to highlight those key aspects of what "Free Palestine" or "Free the Palestinians" typically means. To expand on those points:
Independence and self-determination:
This is a core demand, calling for Palestinians to have control over their own sovereign state, free from Israeli occupation.
It's rooted in the Palestinian right to self-determination, which is recognized in international law.
The focus is often on the West Bank and Gaza Strip, as these are seen as the core territories for a future Palestinian state.
End to restrictions:
This refers to lifting the numerous restrictions imposed by Israel on Palestinian daily life and economic activity.
It includes ending restrictions on movement between Palestinian areas, removing checkpoints, and lifting the blockade on Gaza.
It also encompasses calls to end Israeli control over Palestinian resources like water and land.
Human rights:
There's a strong emphasis on ending human rights violations against Palestinians by Israeli forces and settlers.
This includes stopping arbitrary detentions, house demolitions, and use of excessive force.
It also involves calls for equal rights for Palestinians living under Israeli control, including those in East Jerusalem and Palestinian citizens of Israel.
Right of return:
Many advocates include the right of return for Palestinian refugees to their ancestral homes as part of "freeing" Palestinians.
End to settlement expansion:
Stopping and reversing Israeli settlement growth in the occupied territories is often seen as crucial for Palestinian freedom.
International recognition:
Calls for full international recognition of Palestine as a state and member of the UN.
These demands reflect the complex nature of the Palestinian situation and the multifaceted challenges they face under current arrangements with Israel.

Call for Help
Tumblr media
My name is Mahmoud, and I am a displaced person from Gaza. I am writing to you today in desperate need of support. My family and I are facing extremely difficult circumstances, and we do not have enough money to meet our basic needs.
I have created a campaign on GoFundMe, but so far, I have only received €385 in donations. I need your help to enable us to get through this crisis.
If you can contribute or share the campaign with your friends and family, I would be very grateful. Any amount can make a significant difference in our lives.
Thank you for your support.

In my continued research, I have found several helpful resources for those who (like me) were uninformed/misinformed about the history of Israel and the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people. I encourage you to do your research and find primary sources, but do not post antisemitic bs. There are Palestinian people of all faiths. I support the Palestinian people. I do not support antisemitism. We don’t want to fuel antisemitic hate for calling out a genocide committed by the Israeli government and encouraged by the UK and USA.
The more I learn about this occupation and the horror inflicted on Palestinian people, the more I realise how inundated I have been with propaganda about Israel.
If you’re just beginning your research, here are some Tik Tok Accounts that I have found helpful:
Books that I am reading/listening to/plan to read:
So this isn’t like to start an argument or anything and you don’t really have to go into depth about it but are you pro-Palestine?
This is merely because I don’t feel comfortable supporting anyone who feels otherwise and I won’t fight you on your stance I’d just rather not interact with your content from here on out if you don’t.
I understand and respect the need for an answer to your question. I have tried to devote the thoughtful consideration to answering that it deserves.
TLDR: I do not support colonialism, discrimination, or hate in any form. I do not support any government (including that of my own country) that oppresses people of any ethnicity, race, culture, gender/gender expression, sexuality, religion, etc. The Palestinian people are one of many communities of colour who are actively oppressed and I support their fight for freedom and the re-establishment of their own country. The Jewish people face discrimination and hatred in the U.S. and around the world and I support their fight for equality.
I know that the issues between these two peoples are complicated, span a long period of time, and I am far from the best person to speak on or about this situation. I will always defer to and support the members of oppressed communities to lead and speak for themselves. I am still actively learning about this conflict and the issues facing both communities.
What I do know: The Sinai Peninsula has been an important ancestral home to many cultures over the last several centuries and is claimed by Arabic and Jewish communities with important cultural ties to these lands. It has changed possession many times in our recorded history and likely well before that. In the mid 1900s, a small group of Jewish people with powerful allies claimed the country of Palestine as a refuge for Jewish people during and after World War II due to the horrific Nazi incursion of Western Europe and the devastating genocide committed against them.
The country was renamed by this community to Israel after years of war with the Palestinian people already living there and were supported by the UK and UN. In defense of their takeover, the Israeli government is, and has been for decades, attacking and killing Palestinian civilians, destroying their homes, and occupying Palestinian lands, which is despicable. In retaliation, Israeli civilians are currently under attack by the Hamas military who have killed and kidnapped civilians from around the world, which is terrifying.
The reporting on this conflict has been heavily biased here in the U.S. and hard to verify. I’ve sought out multiple international sources as best I can. I recognise that there is far more nuance to this conflict than I could discuss intellectually as someone living outside of this area of the world, who is not a member of either community, has no religious affiliation, and who is still learning about their histories. I will not pretend that I know how it can be resolved, but I can say that I do not support the Israeli government or its occupation and siege of Gaza, East Jerusalem, and the West Bank. I do not support any military forces terrorizing and killing civilians. I think the Palestinian people should have a country fully under their control and the peace they have sought for decades. I also think that Jewish and Arabic ancestral sites should be preserved, respected, and protected, which has not happened in the past.
If that is not a satisfactory answer, I respect your decision to discontinue interaction. You have every right to protect your own peace.

NEW MAP: Eastern Mediterranean 1952: Egyptian Revolution (23 Jul 1952) https://buff.ly/2F0LoMc Following the 1949 armistices with Israel, what remained of Palestine was dismembered when Jordan annexed the West Bank and Egypt set up an administration in Gaza. Egypt's poor performance in the war further discredited the corrupt King Farouk, who attempted to appeal to nationalism by demanding that the British withdraw from the Suez Canal Zone. When the British rejected his demands, the king proved unable to contain the ensuing instability, and in July 1952 disaffected Egyptian officers swiftly deposed him. #easternmediterranean #history #welovemaps #map #1950s #1952 #kingdomofegypt #nasser #nasserism #egyptianrevolution #westbank #july #july23 #stateofisrael #palestinianhistory #suezcanal #britishempire #revolution #maps #arabnationalism #nationalism #newmap #welovehistory #historyteacher #historybuff #historygeek #historynerd #worldhistory #arabhistory #egyptianhistory (at Cairo, Egypt) https://www.instagram.com/p/ByiwsOEAnVG/?igshid=1otb5ww3vascq

Thirty-three years ago on December 8-9, 1987, the First Intifada began in Palestine, four decades after the Nakba and twenty years after the Naksa in 1967.
The event that sparked the First Intifada took place in Jabalia refugee camp in Gaza, when a zionist truck driver ran over a group of Palestinian workers, murdering four young men.
In response, thousands of Palestinians took to the streets in protest. The next day, on December 9th, 1987, the Palestinian youth of Jabalia camp directly confronted occupation forces with only stones in hand, launching a new chapter of the Palestinian struggle for national liberation.
From Gaza, the Intifada spread to the West Bank, and then on to every corner of historic Palestine. Over the course of the next six years from 1987-1993, the First Intifada was led by the Palestinian masses, who not only took to the streets to protest and resist the occupation, but also formed local committees to organize popular education when schools shut down and coordinated general strikes, economic boycotts of israeli goods and the withholding of taxes to the occupation. Women’s organizations, youth and students and labor unions in particular took a leading role in these committees.
Today we honor all those who took part in the First Intifada, all those who were arrested, jailed, and tortured by the occupation, and the over 1,100 Palestinians martyrs who were murdered while fighting for their freedom. In their memory, the Intifada continues.

In a small displacement camp in southern Gaza, the situation was difficult due to recent events that forced many to leave their homes. But amid the suffering, a glimmer of hope began to emerge.
A group of young volunteers decided to organize a campaign to distribute saj bread (flatbread) to the displaced people in the camp. One morning, they gathered with the necessary equipment and started baking fresh saj bread. The delicious aroma filled the air, drawing in children and adults alike.
As the distribution began, the faces of the displaced lit up with joy and gratitude. The bread represented more than just food; it was a symbol of solidarity and hope in times of hardship. With each loaf distributed, there was a shared feeling that life still held goodness.
During the distribution, the volunteers noticed an even greater need for support. They decided to create a donation fund to assist the displaced people sustainably. With this fund, they could provide more essential food and supplies.
If you would like to contribute to this humanitarian effort, you can donate through this link: [donation link]. Together, we can restore hope and bring life back to the hearts of the displaced in the camp.

Urgent Support Needed for My Family
Tumblr media
Hello everyone,
I’m reaching out for help. I launched a GoFundMe campaign a while ago, but unfortunately, it hasn’t been successful. So far, we’ve only raised 242€, and that’s not enough to support my family during this tough time.
We are in a critical situation and need assistance quickly. Every euro counts and will help us get through this crisis. If you can contribute or share the campaign link with your friends, I would be incredibly grateful.

Thank you for your time and support.

During the distribution, the volunteers noticed an even greater need for support. They decided to create a donation fund to assist the displaced people sustainably. With this fund, they could provide more essential food and supplies.
