Lorsan 

Lorsan is a dork. But at least he’s your dork!

Whether that’s a good thing or not is up to you. 

Lorsan canonically loves flower crowns, as a child. As an adult, he won’t admit it but should you give him some fresh wildflowers, he melts a bit at the gesture. Maybe he’ll make you a crown, though it might be a bit messy from lack of practice. 

He does his best to woo you with his words. Many of his compliments, however are pure poetry, and he’s an expert in romantic letters to make you swoon, then he ruins it by praising himself too much. 

Don’t be fooled, he’s a romantic at heart. You can see the effort he puts in to sweep you off your feet. 

He enjoys making you blush, sneaking you kisses on the cheek when you aren’t looking. 

If you take your revenge while he’s talking, he continues talking until he registers the kiss and his voice trails off. It’s a great way to get him to stop talking for a bit. 

Dates with the dork are fun! He likes to explore new things with you, or to show you his favorite pretty date spots, he’ll take you to the prettiest, iconic date spots in the Dark Forest, like Lovers’ Wish. (“Though they don’t hold a candle to you, darling”) 

Oh, get ready for the pet names. All of them, sometimes in the same sentence. They get cheesier the more mischievous he’s feeling. 

Lorsan is your protector, should you need it! It’s sometimes difficult to remember that Lorsan is a skilled Windwhisperer and warrior in his own right, but he’s very good at making people remember. 

All of the tension goes out of him when you two are alone, he’ll nuzzle against you, boneless and tail twitching in happiness, kissing your cheek with his lips and his nose. He’s a cuddler, through and through. 

Lucius 

This man be a himbo. A relatively sophisticated and well-bred himbo, but a himbo all the same. 

Dude was straight up missing for two weeks trying to help people. He be himbo

Canonically, most of his advice involves exercise or horses. I don’t think he understands romance. At all. 

Lucius is a noble, so his ideas of romance are kind of centred around what he heard growing up. So he courts you, basically, in his own way. He gives you gifts that are simple, practical and beautiful. Bouquets of flowers, jewellery, whatever you asked for him. Service is also a big thing. He’s your literal knight in shining armour, dude will carry you across the globe princess style should you ask him to. 

he takes you to his favourite restaurants, they are simple, plain fare. Though with how loved he is by his country, the servers and owners always do their best to make it a good experience. 

He’s very sappy, make him something, no matter how stupid or silly it looks, and he wears it with pride in public, proclaiming you as the maker. He gets a bit confused should you get embarrassed. 

He likes taking you on horseback rides, he’s named every single one he’s ever ridden, and remembers their temperaments, so it will always be a pleasant experience for you. 

He won’t talk to you about his troubles, he’s had to keep it to himself so long that it’s tough for him. He’ll open up to you very slowly, after some needling. 

He’s also very hesitant about affection, he won’t initiate it unless you give your permission. He’s very gentlemanly in that regard, though it can be frustrating. 

His kisses are very gentle. He cradles your face in his hands, and gazes at you with such tenderness. His hugs are comforting and very warm, like he's protecting you from the entire world.

OOOH I love this question! Also that was a borisin. It was part of a larger drawing I wanted to make of Yanqing with a bunch of other denizens of Abundance, but as you can see, It's been abandoned </3

Currently, I only have one au that focuses on yanli, and that's chimera!Yunli, but I absolutely have a ton of Yanli hcs. I would include both, but the post would be incredibly long if I did, so here's a list of my current hcs from memory(very long list ahead):

Yunli makes stealing Yanqing's swords into a habit. The first few times it was just to get a rise out of him or to instigate a fight, but soon enough, it became more an excuse to hang out with him

The first time Yunli stole a sword to trick Yanqing into hanging out with her, Yanqing was entirely confused and suspicious for the entire definitely-not-a-date

Yanqing himself slowly stops getting upset about these thefts and begins looking forward to an out-of-the-blue spar or hangout

Speaking of Yanqing's swords, Yanzhou loves Yunli, and even his misbehaving ice sabres are fond of her

Sometimes the swords will tell Yunli something embarrassing about Yanqing, or things he's said about her in private, and Yanqing will freak out because she won't tell him what they told her

Occasionally, they won't say anything at all. Yunli is just teasing

Further into their relationship, when the two are actually getting closer, his sabres will sometimes sabotage Yanqing's attempts to woo Yunli or act cool around her, usually by making him trip or making him look like a fool in spars

Yanqing finds these events humiliating. Yunli finds them funny and endearing.

When Yanqing is talking, Yunli will sometimes eat especially loud to annoy or tick him off. She always does this when he's speaking to other Cloud Knights

Yanqing's dynamic with Yunli reminds Jing Yuan a lot of himself and Yingxing when they were younger, with the latter's pride and Jing Yuan's own youthful ambitions

Yanqing and Yunli are both trans, afab and amab respectively

They're also both on the autism spectrum. Obviously their shared hyperfixations are swords

Yanqing is terrible at talking to girls, or anyone he has a crush on really

Yunli fell first, Yanqing fell harder

Yunli fell for Yanqing the moment he subdued Hoolay

It takes years for Yanqing to realize he's in love, while it takes Yunli a matter of months

Jing Yuan knew the whole time

So did Huaiyan

When Yunli went back home to the Zhuming, she snuck one of Yanqing's swords with her. Call it payback

Yunli is the cat, Yanqing is the golden retriever

At one point, Yunli was taller than Yanqing and she held it over his head constantly. As you'd expect, Yanqing hits a growth spurt and he always brings up this fact during arguments (especially if he lives long enough to grow into Ma Feima's size)

Their first kiss was initiated by Yanqing completely on the cuff during an argument or spar. He became so embarrassed that he ran off and couldn't face her for days

When they're grown up, they become very well known rivals and people often make bets on who's stronger/who would win in a fight

They often visit each other on their respective ships, and this increases upon reaching adulthood where their relationship has developed and they no longer require chaperones

They retain their rivalry at this age, however there's a subtle shift from childhood spats to a more mature but still petty dynamic that screams old married couple

Much of this bickering evolves from proving to the other that they themselves are the best, to who can pay the tab at lunch, which kind of food the birds would prefer and which obscure historical figure was cooler

They still never truly grow out of that more childish nature. They'll always be rivals at heart

They would also die for each other. Like, even currently (2.5 going on 2.6) they would put their lives on the line if it meant keeping the other alive

2.4 yanli would still save the other's life, but it would eventually just be used as another thing to hold over the other's head, and any real concern would be short-lived

I'm confident that if one of them acted recklessly in a fight, or hid an injury or whatever, the other would drop everything to take care of them, all the while scolding them for how stupid the other was. Super cliche and, at this point, cheesy, but I think it's in character. Especially on Yunli's end. She would tear poor Yanqing a new one

Additionally, that one classic Princess Mononoke scene? That's Yanli coded. Prove me wrong

Their theme song is "Anything You Can Do" from Annie Get Your Gun

Forgetful, my friend, my ally, my Franky-centric dabbler who brings me and the Fuzz so much joy; you are the farthest thing from cringe and this HC is truly precious! I love Franky both being so stupid in love and also just ridiculous it's a hilarious combo and I'm happy! I've gotcha covered! :D

��Hey there, Forgers! Have you met (Y/N)- wait, of course you have! They’re my partner now!” Your boyfriend announced with such glee- like a child who got their dream toy on Christmas morning. It was utterly adorable, if not a bit embarrassing.

“Yes, Franky. You’ve told us that- repeatedly.” Loid tsked with a small sigh, no real malice in his voice as he gave you a smile. “It’s always a pleasure to see you, (Y/N). I hope the trip here wasn’t too bad in this weather.”

“Oh no, it wasn’t bad at all! I’m used to this kind of thing.” You laughed as Anya ran over, taking your hand and bringing you to Yor. The three of you went about to the living room as Franky puffed his chest with pride.

“Aren’t they just amazing? Tough as nails, but sweet as candy! How’d I get so lucky to meet them?”

“Through me. And the agency.” Loid reminded, softening as he watched the informant swoon, head over heels in love. “You really do like them, huh?”

“Like? I’m so in love, Loid! I’ve never met anyone like them! They’re talented and smart and considerate of my time-” He paused briefly on that one, side eyeing Loid before continuing. “They always make me feel like I’m important, even when their plate is full.” He leaned in his arm as he watched you chat with Yor and Anya, laughing and smiling without a care in the world. “I owe you one.”

“You really don’t. I didn’t expect this to happen, but I’m happy for you both. Truly.” Franky eyed him suspiciously, but found no lie. He smiled after, lightly punching Loid’s arm.

“Say- we should do a double date soon. Maybe I can teach you the ropes on how to properly woo your lover~”

“No thanks.”

“Come on, I’m basically an expert on romancing people now!”

“You really aren’t, and I think I’m doing just fine with that.”

“I-” Franky raised his brows, not expecting that. Loid seemed to stiffen at the accidental confession. “No way, you’re-”

“Fuzzy head! Papa! Come play with us!” Anya’s cries of joy reached out to them, a pack of Bondman playing cards in her hands. “(Y/N) brought me a present!”

“We’re gonna play old Bondman! Is-is that what it’s called?” Yor asked as you grinned, lifting a shoulder.

“Sure- let’s go with that. Franky, you’re on my team.”

“Be right there, gorgeous! Winning couple reigns supreme!” He cried, laughing like a gremlin as he ran over. Loid shook his head with weary amusement, joining the party as Franky kissed your cheek.

He might be a bit of a show boater with this kind of thing, but his feelings were true. Franky clearly loved you, and to Loid; that was worth putting up with his informant’s antics.

I thought of a pretty good one! What would be the BoB boys reaction to you hiding in their chest when you're watching a horror movie with them?

Warnings: fluff, horror movie bits.

Bull Randleman.

•You both were watching a horror film, an actual good horror film.

•Not chainsaw massacre or that sort of only gore stuff.

•So when he put the film on, and the jump scare came on, he didn't jump and just chuckled. Finding it amusing!

•You on the other hand jumped and wrapped your arms around him and hid your face in his chest, seeking comfort and safety.

•He raised his eyebrow and snickers slightly, wrapping one arm around you.

•As you guys kept watching, you'd peek here and there and each time you did, it would ALWAYS be a jump scare or something that scared you.

•And each time you whimpered slightly and he chuckled and squeezed you a little tighter, trying to hint to you that he's right there, for you.

•After the film he teased you the whole time and asked questions like "how was the film?" Teasing you 24/7.

•He still teases you to this day and makes fun of you, but it's a light-hearted joke so he knows you don't take it seriously.

Eugene Roe.

•To be honest, he's a little scared too. But not as much as you.

•You know that he did see tons of messed up things at war but that doesn't mean he's not scared of a horror movie.

•Sometimes, if a jump scare comes on scene, he'll grip your arm tight or scoot a little closer.

•But when a jump scare came on scene that made you hide in his chest, he stroked your hair and closed his eyes, while telling you it's okay in his gentle and soothing voice.

•He kept watching the film but he hid your face in his chest, keeping you safe.

•He admitted to you before that he was somewhat scared of actual good horror movies and he didn't want you to tease him about it.

•But in this situation, he had all the right to mock you or tease you, but guess what, HE DIDN'T BECAUSE HE'S THE SWEETEST MAN ALIVE AND I LOVE HIM SO MUCH 😩😩

•After the film, you told him that you didn't watch it almost at all, and he told you that he closed his eyes most of the time.

•So that means, you both are even.

•But even if he watched it and you didn't, he wouldn't tease you and he never did, because he understands.

•This man is way too prideful.

•On the outside, he shows he isn't scared of horror movies.

•But on the inside, he is actually hyperventilating if he wanted to watch it or not.

•He knew it would be okay because you're gonna be next to him!

•But once you hid in his chest he immediately squealed like a girl because you scared him and he was shocked.

•When he remembered it was just you he immediately apologized and went back to acting 'chill.'

•"No I didn't squeal, it was you!"

•He immediately put the blame on you playfully, knowing damn well he was squealing like a little girl.

•You didn't even squeal that high-pitched😭💀

•Everytime you brought up that time he immediately shaked his head and acted like he didn't remember that at all!

•Bill doesn't get scared of horror movies easily.

•You and him both do commentary on how bad some horror movies are because it's made shit.

•But once you guys stumble on a promising horror movie. It scares you almost instantly.

•Bill on the other hand is happy and is hitting the Jamie oliver💀 "woo! Yeah!"

•But when you hide in his chest he teases you and tells you that the movie is working if it's scaring you.

•Sometimes he would get goosebumps due to the music or anything else because it's an actual good horror movie.

•You whimpered and buried your face in his chest deeper. He smiled and stroked your hair while he continued to watch.

•He wasn't scared most of the time, but he sometimes did these movements where it was a sign that he was a little uncomfortable. Like clutching his legs together or gripping your hair hard.

•But after the film, he'll make fun of you but as a joke, reminding you of it and how cocky you were when you were about to watch it.

•He is an absolute tease.

•He already knew the whole process.

•"I wanna watch a horror film! Pleaseeeee?" 5 minutes later. "AGH--!"

•Yep. You ask to watch a horror movie with him and he agrees obviously, then like 5 minutes in, you get a jump scare and hide in his chest.

•He laughs hard and pats your back while kissing your forehead.

•"I told ya you'd get scared! Ya do this all the time!"

•He teases you, mocks the way you squealed and all sorts of things.

•You get irritated and embarrassed due to him making fun of you.

•So then as you continue watching the film. You jump at times and squeeze his hand tighter. When suddenly, you 'accidentally' fell on his chest.

•You just wanted to be safe whilst you watched the movie.

•Hoping that Nix would be an emotional support buddy for you through the movie.

•But, after the film, alas, he laughed at you.

•But he doesn't mean it in a rude way. Dww!

•This dude doesn't mock you but he would glance at you from time to time whenever you jumped.

•He wasn't scared of any horror movies (absolute sociopath 😭)

•But when you hid in his chest he felt his heart melt and the need to protect you from everything.

•He wrapped his arms around you and paused the movie. Not wanting you to hear the sounds of the movie playing.

•He softly calmed you down and rubbed your back, making sure you were okay.

•When he unpaused the film, he kept glancing at you from time to time.

•Checking to see for any uncomfortable gestures or anything that would make you want to stop the film immediately.

•But luckily the rest of the film was fine except for a few jump scares.

•He didn't mock you but he did say that you were being a little bit of a scaredy cat.

•But let's be honest, he was scared for you.

Joseph Liebgott.

•He felt scared when you were scared.

•To be honest, he tries to put on an act on how tough he is, but it immediately stops when then first jumpscare comes.

•He jumps slightly but when you hid in his chest her hid against your head.

•He covered your ears so you wouldn't hear the films sounds, then he grabbed the remote and turned the horror movie off.

•Clearly traumatising both of you.

•The rest of the night was just you both cuddling and telling each other that they were being a baby.

•But you both forgave each other and said that next time, you both are watching a movie that isn't horror.

I'm so sorry for not posting lately. I had such a low motivation and being a fucking lazy ass. It took me like 3 days to finish this because I was being lazy and didn't have motivation for it. But I finished it and I really hope you guys like it. I love you all<3

Nova and Maggie, Broken clasp duo (i love that name so much omg anyways), post canon, post reveal and all the drama that would bring: I love the idea of both of them going on small (PLATONIC) dates every now and then.

I love to think about how the two of them would deal with their different perceptions of the other PreReveal. The sister each never got to have. The What Ifs they've built over the years, and now have a real person to be compared to.

Reveal would come with a lot of angst i've discussed b4, but once everything (for the most part) has settled.. Nova and Maggie get to learn about each other. Get to learn who their sister ACTUALLY IS

And what better way than finding time to just. Hang out.

Once they might just walk around the city and talk about whatever comes to mind, what their childhoods looked like, maybe even show the places they visited the most.

They find a diner and order, find out what the other's favorite foods are, DO they have a favorite food, oh look there is a dish NEITHER have tried LETS TRY IT because WHY NOT

Order the WHOLE MENU over time (or all at once because Nova has MONEY NOW WAAAOOOOOOWW poor financial decisions her friends would SO ENCOURAGE) and give their reviews

Nova teaches Maggie how to shoot, the best tips and tricks she's learned over the years. Maggie doesn't know how to feel from the experience, so used to having a limited range with her telekinesis that using something like a shotgun, FEELING the bullet leave at such a speed and go so far.. it's...

Going to an antique shop with a budget ("We have money. If i find out you steal anything I will make your life a living nightmare" "I heard you the last 80 times on the way here. Can we go in now?") and get to look at all the pretty things, Maggie easily spots the most valuable things and Nova gets to learn more about the specifics of her sisters power. They even find some uranium glass! So they of course buy it.

Just. Things like that.

And they'll get to learn all the ways they are SO. SIMILAR. TO. EACH OTHER. its MINDBOGGLING like "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE" insanity "the children's hom-" "no- yep yep I realized as I said it"

and both would get to feel the survivals guilt while also being like "why are YOU guilty?? thank GOD youre here!" (maggie to my hcs would be like "PSH im not guilty! Im great. I survived. Woo. WOO! (she's trying to convince herself cuz psshh she PRIDES herself on her survival she can't feel GUILTY FOR THAT that goes AGAINST her survival smh ur dumb for suggesting it)(survivals guilt over callum's death ahem hem hemmm))

This would be in addition to the family therapy I'd sure HOPE they'd start going to. Last of the Artino bloodline need COUNSELING

Oooh! Here's a question! What is one (1) headcanon you have for each reboot kiddo? (One for Priya, one for Bowie, and so on.)

Most of these I've had for awhile but thanks for helping me realize there were a few characters from this cast I never bothered to make hcs for lol. Some of these are gonna be sadder than others (I like making angst). TW FOR MENTIONS OF: Child neglect, transphobia, homophobia, the foster care system, child abuse, relationship abuse Caleb: Dumped Priya shortly after the season 2 finale when he realized they just weren't compatible and he'd rather just be friends (please let this be the case in s3🙏) Axel: She's related to Shawn and has a part time job as an instructor at the flower shop and fighting school. Years after the show she gets promoted to manager/class organizer

Nichelle: She's the daughter of the in-universe equivalent of someone like Beyonce or Will Smith, and so she got into acting as a baby.

Lauren: Her parents paid very, very little attention to her when she was a small child because they were preoccupied with their (full of illegal practices) circus buisness and Lauren was primarily raised by her older brother (who is 11 years older than her.) The computer was her babysitter a lot of the time and she got into creepypasta stuff at like age 4 Damien: He's trans ftm and was disowned by his parents after coming out, luckily he had a supportive aunt who took him in and allowed him to start HRT. He signed up for TD without hesitation or even bothering to look up what the show entailed when he heard he could win a million dollars because he knew he could use that money to A. repay his aunt for her kindness and B. afford top surgery

MK: Raised in the foster care system alongside her twin brother. She barely ever got anything for herself growing up and developed her klepto behavior after stealing her first video game and console (a 3DS and pokemon sun for anyone curious)

Raj: Figured out he was gay in middle school. Didn't want to come out because while he knew his immediate family would be supportive, his extended family overseas certainly wouldn't be. Needless to say his family cut contact with a lot of distant relatives after the show aired Wayne: He'd never actually had a girlfriend prior to being on TD. When the purple haired intern (who I hc started liking him after he helped her in the fear challenge) told him she had a crush on him she had to explain it very slowly several times over in order for him to understand what she meant Ripper: also had it rough growing up unfortunatley; he mentions at one point his parents dropped him a lot and told him that babies ruin everything so I don't think it's a stretch to say his parents were abusive. Axel was the first person who truly made him feel loved and accepted.

Zee: Uses perscription marijuana for anxiety. The soda is a clear metaphor for weed; while yes he drinks a lot of it normally since he probably wasn't allowed to use drugs (even perscription) on camera he seriously upped the amount of soda he drank as a sort of replacement

Chase: Was actually a decent person once upon a time and legitimatley did woo Emma over with actual charm. With time unfortunatley he started the youtube channel and once it took off the fame got to his head so he would do anything to make the next "viral video," including putting his GF's life in danger.

Emma: She used to be a model student- straight As, participated in a lot of extracirriculars, had a ton of friends, etc. All of that went down the drain when she used 90% of her time to work on the youtube channel. After breaking up with Chase (the second time) she went to therapy and is trying to become the great person she once was, but it's going to take quite a bit of time.

Julia: She first came out as queer for the sake of a pride month post/getting sponsorships from "queer friendly" brands but hadn't actually thought much about her sexuality at the time. Getting to know MK (and Bowie + the hockey bros) during TD made her realize she actually is a Lesbian, she wasn't lying like she thought she was. Millie: Developed a HUGE crush on Priya during s1. She first started gaining feelings around episode 6 or so but didn't quite process that it was a crush until she realized just how happy she was to have Priya back when she forgave her in the season 1 finale + how upset she would have been if she lost Priya. She cried herself to sleep after watching the season 2 livestream at the playa😭 Bowie: Was a huge brony when he was a kid and got into arguments about the show with grown men online in middle school Priya: After season 2, she was contacted by Courtney (who very reluctantly checked out the new seasons and was horrifed by Priya's situation) who offered to be her lawyer when suing her parents for the right to access the s1 prize money. They were sucessful and Priya moved in with Millie afterwards 😉

reader is actively trying to show up Kali, bringing outrageously big game to Stone like he sees Kali bringing Stone tasty fish and he huffs, smoke pouring from his nostrills and the next thing they know reader brings Stone a whole orca he hunted, brings him the fattest seals too, the blubber is good for stocking up for winter. in theory reader has everything to charm and woo Stone. he's big (well over 7 feet), he's strong (easily lifting up a truck when they don't have a car jack), he's rich (huge hoard as well as old money in banks across the world), he's knowledgeable (knows so much stuff, was around when the first telescopes and star maps were made, was around even before that) but reader knows that Kali has an advantage of knowing Stone for a long time and another thing is that reader is old... like old old and Kali and Stone are far closer in age so why would Stone want some old man when he can have a young, lively mate who has been by his side for all this time. now of course reader won't just give up, dragons are known to be both proud and possessive so reader won't allow that kind of hit to his pride nor will he just give up what he thinks should be his. but a dark part of his brain is always whispering for him to be prepared to loose his dream mate to someone (in readers opinion) more suited afterall reader is old and past his prime (in dragon years) he couldn't even give Stone a proper family (i have a hc that certain hybrids are very gung ho about family and cubs) so despite being all that and a bag of chips reader can't help but be insecure (there's also the fact of it being a mythical hybrid trying to court a regular animal hybrid and considering the fact that reader would probably outlive them both so... yeah)

Wolf hybrid!Kali who has more than one reason to try and one-up dragon hybrid!Reader's courting of Stone because you're courting both the mate he's been courting with for twelve years and his trusted lieutenant. Part of him feels like why should you get both lion hybrid!Sarabi and bear hybrid!Stone?

He knows realistically he cannot compete with a dragon hybrid, a fact that's further proven by you bringing an orca to Stone. But that doesn't stop him from trying.

Kali helps Stone take care of his den, helping him bring back the food you bought Stone so that he's well-stocked up for the winter. He provides Stone with the flowers he knows Stone loves, he shares his kills with Stone. He reminds Stone of all of their good times, he cuddles Stone every night he can with you around.

But Stone still wants you, actually, he wants you both. So he tells you two and you're quick to start courting Kali.

Kali suddenly has more rabbits and deer showing up at his own den, all of them from you. You help him deal with other wolf packs, using your dragon hybrid nature to run off everyone who tries to encroach on his pack's territory.

Kali's confused but eventually, he accepts it. He's not used to...submitting, to being taken care of, but at least Stone and Sarabi are happy. And he doesn't mind having help with keeping his pack safe.

HC’s for how you think Sebastian and Ominis would react to having MC stolen by another guy for a dance at the Yule Ball?

Sebastian is a jealous guy, and even though it's only one dance, he's fuming. Furious. Watching someone else put their hands on his girl, especially tonight, is like daggers to his heart and his pride. It had better be only one fucking dance, MC. The whole fucking school can see you out there laughing as he spins you around. I've got to stop this. It takes every ounce of self control he possesses to stop him from stomping out to the dance floor, grabbing MC away, and making a huge scene as he pulls her into a dark corner, smashing his lips onto hers to remind her who she came here with.

UNLESS it's someone that he knows will respect MC, like Ominis, Garreth, or Amit. In that case he's standing on the sidelines, drink in hand, grateful for the break from her overwhelmingly splendid presence. (She makes his head spin, okay) He'll watch her laugh and spin around the room, his heart filling with love, happy that she is having fun. He loves her, he trust her, and he wants her to be happy all the damn time.

Ominis is, for once, glad he can't see MC, but he does wish the people around him would stop talking about how good she looks dancing with someone other than him. He can hear her laughing from where he stands at the edge of the crowd, the sound making the hairs on his neck raise. He doesn't like the feeling of jealously growing in him, knows MC can take care of herself, but he can't help wanting to be by her side, just in case she needs him. When MC finally comes bounding back to his side, body warm from the exertion of the dance, he pulls her in for a long kiss, not caring who might see. He'll drop his voice to a whisper, still holding her close. "Dance with me again, Little Dove." Ominis will woo her with his best moves, making sure that she doesn't even remember dancing with anyone but him by the end of the night.

In honor of Pride Month, here's a rapidfire ramble about my OCs' orientations and how those and their actual preferences play off with their personalities and shape key moments of their story. Bonus context for my hc on queerness in Tyria.

Aurelia Dragonwings - Pansexual homoromantic Girls are pretty. I mean, boys are neat too, but she only ever had eyes for Ardea and later on Ellara, and that clear preference never had her experiment with the other side. The one and only experience she had with a guy was with her best friend Obsius, specifically when Ardea wanted to have a cub and she took one round "just to try it", only to end up having a cub as well (Adamas is an oopsie baby, yes). In general, labels are very confusing to her and the topic of romance held a lot of grief for years, so she would avoid answering any question on the matter, but if someone were to ask her friends, they'd just say she "doesn't know she's lesbian for someone".

Adamas Crystalsoul - Pansexual He's a pretty boy with great pedigree and had waves of people interested in him, but in the fahrar he was too focused on becoming Legionnaire to entertain childhood crushes, and then his heart got snatched away by Maeveryl before he even considered romance an option, still recovering from the loss of his would-be warband. Countless hearts got crushed by the fact that the Pact Commander's son was open about dating a sylvari and being loyal to them, yet Deryn somehow managed to woo the guy (only because Maeveryl sometimes quite literally pushed him towards her). Overall he has a feminine and androgynous preference, though like his mother he never had a proper chance to explore romance with guys.

Tocchix - Demisexual panromantic (trans guy) He spent most of his teenage years feeling sort of inadequate for romance because he never felt "the full pull" towards anyone (not helped by the comparison to a serial crush-haver like Fynn, his best friend in Lion's Arch), so he preferred to focus on training hard and join the Order of Whispers, figuring that it'd be a problem for his older self. Terrible at picking up on flirting attempts and needing to have it very slowly and clearly spelled out for him, he missed a ton of chances with many, and that was not helped by the fact that when he falls for someone, he becomes the definition of devotion, not seeing anyone else even to his detriment. He only ever fell for Iotta, Poffi and, many years later, Huki.

Maeveryl - Panromantic asexual (non-binary) While they are pan, they do have a strong preference for masculinity, or better, a general aversion towards feminine behavior and appearance. They had their first experience with romance with their saplinghood best friend, Morwen, and they quickly figured out femininity wasn't really for them, both for their own body and in a partner. After that, they only had another experience that ended bitterly, and then Adamas became their heart. Years later, when Deryn joins their relationship with Adamas, they don't share romantic feelings for each other, though they quickly become quite platonically affectionate with each other.

Ellara Echodancer - Homosexual Just lesbian. Girls gals girls. Only women of all kinds. She's totally not a hot mess, because she's got rizz and isn't afraid to use it, even just to have a little innocent flirty fun that totally isn't a distraction.

Hel Ravenlost - Homosexual G g girls... pr... etty... Don't worry, after losing Sieran without having been able to tell her how she felt for years, she does get better at not completely hiding her feelings. Luck isn't on her side, but third time's the charm, I swear!

Bunnie - Pansexual demiromantic (non-binary) She likes to sleep around, so anyone willing and compatible (both personality-wise and physically) is fair game for her to have a little no-strings-attached fun. As for the romantic side, I elaborated on it a bit here, but in short she does want romantic relationships and isn't afraid of showing the kind of interest in others that could lead to that, but she always had issues with developing feelings of the romantic kind and having them last, so she tends to coyly hide behind a bit of an emotionally-nonchalant facade until she feels safe to love someone.

Ethanryel - Asexual aromantic (agender) Just never felt anything of either kind of attraction, and that's very much fine for them. Bunnie once explained queerplatonic relationships to them, but that ended up being a sore point for them. The closest thing to that could have been their bond with Grace, a Zephyrite gal who had taught them a lot about healing and voiced for them to join the Zephyrite on their last travel. She had a pretty evident crush on them yet she was the first that didn't make them uncomfortable, but before they got to talk about anything of that matter, she was mortally wounded in the crash in Dry Top, and they never forgave themselves for not having been able to save her. Years later, when Aurene branded their arm to save them, Ethanryel took the title of Grace of Aurene in memory of their friend.

Deryn - Pansexual Gender doesn't matter to her, if one is a nice and hot charr, they're a nice and hot charr. Probably if Mae were a charr she'd have made a move on them as well, but after the initial fascinated curiosity towards the very concept of sylvari, only strong platonic feelings towards them are left.

Markus Blake - Bisexual Due to his parents being in a queerplatonic relationship and being told since really young that he'd have assured the freedom to choose they nearly didn't get (Nora and Lionel were childhood best friends who married each otherso that they could have the kid they both did want and be done with further family expectations, with her being lesbian and him aroace), he never really thought much of romance, thinking he'd just know when he found "the one". When he met Kai, he thought he'd found that one and hoped she'd eventually return his feelings for years, failing at being clear with her about it while ignoring what he felt towards Fynn, the best friend he had found at the same time. It took him a while, but, by what felt just short of divine intervention, he eventually figured out that the "one" was actually "two".

Nari - Bisexual homoromantic Gals is where it's at. She does find feminine people hot in general and had a few experimental flirts across the gender spectrum, but proper relationships are something she knows she wants only with gals. She believes that such kind of strong confidence in her own ideas was what caught Hel's attention in spite of not being norn, not realizing that Hel prefers non-norn until much later.

Iotta - Pansexual demiromantic Her opinion of romance is that it sucks, like all that comes with it. Sure, people can be hot in ways that make sense from a biological standpoint, but for her whole life she couldn't imagine willingly being in a relationship, because everyone else is grossly incompetent and, at best, more annoying than what she could deal with on a daily basis. Being in a relationship with a dork like Tocchix only confirmed that she hates it, because that kind of implicit vulnerability and distracting fondness for someone else goes against everything she knows to be safe, and she utterly despises the fact she wants more of it and that she played herself into it by getting that brilliant idea of manipulating him in the first place. And then being "left behind" shattered any positive perception of romance nearly irreparably, and it drives her mad that she can't get that yearning blade out of her heart so it can rot in peace. So yeah, romance sucks, and it sucks that she fell for it that one time.

Poffi - Demisexual biromantic Growing up in a small krewe that was part of the same polyamorous pod for years and that treated her like their own progeny, she was exposed to plenty of relationship examples, so she thought she had a pretty clear idea of what she was like by the time she left home to join the Order. Sadly she never got the chance to test her theories due to her general insecurities, and she also missed the pretty important part where maybe some girls can be just as romanceable as guys. (hey, at least AU!Poffi gets to go through quite the poly rollercoaster)

Daunte Burstspell - Homosexual He's a simple charr: he liked his guys hot like his fire, and life was not a little fun without the risk of burns. Verge was his flame since childhood, and they openly shared their warmth with many others. Daunte continued doing so after losing him, and even though it was never the same, he did genuinely care for the young norn he so gleefully annoyed to no end.

Hagan Wesson - Pansexual Forced to run away from Hoelbrak and break up with his childhood sweetheart, Gretna (Hel's sister), he eventually tried to get over it in some way, and ended up having some... positively revealing experiences. Swinging for years between times where he wanted to enjoy himself without attachment and others where he tried to ignore everything else to focus on his duty in the Vigil, after Daunte's death he's been more open about enjoying other people's company, and eventually ended up being reunited with Gretna after he had already settled with Flom.

Flom - Pansexual Good thing he likes everything and is quick to like others, because he genuinely believed "beggars can't be choosers" for the longest time. Even better thing, he now has people he likes and who chose him first (and a demon in his head who regularly calls him out on bs he should unlearn).

Zehmik - Homosexual (masculine non-binary) Guys are just neat, sorry gals. Lost count of how many flings he entertained during his years in the Mist War, always keeping feelings at arms' length due to the risky nature of their situation and a heartbreak he never recovered from. The occasional experiment only confirmed his very serious case of gay gay homosexual gay.

Edraas Noiza - Asexual aromantic (?) Due to being a highly experimental hybrid, its body is a biological mess that may have yet to fully mature and its perception of emotions is different from that of all other sentient species, so the concept of romance or anything of that nature is downright alien to it.

Lenorey - Asexual ?romantic She doesn't really get what the big deal about romance is, not beyond just preferring someone's company over others', while sex is just an activity that can be fun. In general she cared more about getting high off of toxins, so it's all of little interest to her. Now, finding a weird little asura that is literally toxic, gives you more toxins as part of the experiments she asked to perform on you, and you get just a little bit high when you kiss her? Maybe that's what love feels like.

👿 Akira would fall for his darling before being possessed by the demon Amon in which case he'd be a very meek, shy and insecure yet very caring person. Too much of a coward to confess his feelings for his darling, he'd still go to rather questionable lengths at times such as following you around or just in general watching you a lot, eyes averting yours the moment you look at him. It's all he can do as words always fail him and coherent thoughts leave his head when you actually start a conversation with him. His shyness aside, Akira would be a really obsessed individual to the point where it's a bit creepy. He remembers things about you that he overhears others saying, is definitely the type to keep a few things that you might have lost and sometimes even scribbles down the words he can never say in front of you.

👿 After transforming into a Devilman, a few things change for him. With the increase of strength comes an initial wave of cockiness and suddenly he's approaching you far more often than he used too. Suddenly he isn't afraid to casually touch you or brush your hands although it doesn't escalate to something perverted. His possessive side has gone up together with his overprotective traits, especially once demons start lurking around more. He has less hesitation to be more violent and challenge even humans to fights if they get on his nerves by trying to woo you and you always have to stop him. He's stalking you still a lot of course since he's always worried that something might happen to you. I feel like as a human he would have been more oblivious to his unhealthy feelings but as a Devilman he seems to realize that his feelings and his behavior overall have worsened and so he does feel guilt at times.

👿 He cares about those he loves and his darling is the one he cares about most. Even as a human he's always felt jealous though although it was always accompanied by a sense of insecurity since he knew that most people didn't take him that seriously. The insecurities are gone for the most part when he becomes a Devilman and instead the jealousy is suddenly mixed together with a possessive urge to have his s/o for himseld. He's no longer someone who hides behind the corner and watches with clenched fists and a pained heart but instead squeezes himself quite literally in between you and the person who tries to make a move on you, shielding you behind his back and just giving them a withering glare. His appearance alone is all of a sudden very intimidating and once it becomes obvious for everyone that he feels something for you, a lot would think twice before trying to flirt with you again.

👿 As a human he would be weak and obviously scared but would overcome that fear of his every time you'd be in troubles. It might have happened that he got himself beaten up for your sake but saw it as worth it in order to protect you. No one took him serious back then though when he tried to threaten someone but failed miserably. Now, as a Devilam, the situation for Akira has changed significantly though. He's aware that he has become strong and that at times fills his chest with pride since he now can protect you better. He's no longer your shy and weak rabbit that would get scared of everything as he gets into a lot of fights suddenly whenever someone gets on his possessive or overprotective side. Whilst humans manage to spark his possessive side most of the time, demons are instantly associated with danger for you in his mind so he gets rid of them almost all the time.

👿 Abduction is an aspect that could inflict a lot of guilt on him since he knows that it's a morally wrong action. Akira is also a very protective guy though, especially after becoming a Devilman and seeing all the chaos the demons and even humans can create and how easily they can kill others. An abduction would precisely because of his experience and growing paranoia be an action out of a deep-rooted fear to lose you. Akira is still aware that it isn't something he should do but considering the situation he's in right now, he thinks of it as a safety measurement to keep you alive. You might hate him and fear him for finding out what he has become and what he has done to you but he'll take it over you dying and him having been unable to do anything. 

👿 Even if he has grown more cocky and more possessive, he still retains his caring side for you. There are times where he's still easily flustered when in your presence and even if he's now strong, he's also scared of you finding out. His sexual need has increased a lot since becoming a Devilman so it has definitely happened that he masturbated to the thought of his darling for multiple rounds and there is a lingering sense of guilt and shame whenever he has done so. Ryo has known about you for almost as long as Akira has and probably was aware of his friend's crush before Akira was himself. Since Ryo is Ryo, he has teased his friend and you already a lot of times, more than often in somewhat rude and unsettling ways and he's probably all the more interested in seeing the relationship develop after Akira's transformation. Akira trusts his friend obviously but he can't help but keep a closer eye on you and stick closer to you when you're around Ryo. Miki is just very supporting. He’d probably be quite harmless if it wouldn’t be for the fact that his feelings sometimes just take control of him.

Asuka Ryo

👼 Ryo is a major red flag and an absolute menace so staying away from him would be the best choice. However, such fortune is not yours as soon as the man has taken an interest in you. He doesn't perceive it even as love or obsession at first, rather as a curiosity since somehow you caught his eye. Even then he already showcases various signs of obsessive behavior though and a borderline clingy and stalkerish behavior. You often catch him following around, pretty uncaring if he creeps you out by doing so or not. Straightforward and unashamed to ask you intrusive and highly personal questions that he shouldn't have to know about you. It escalates at one point as he hears from your friends and acquaintances that he has even started bothering them about you yet when you call him out for it and threaten him, he doesn't appear to be bothered at all. To your great shock you find out that Ryo always manages to manipulate the situation and talk his way out of any troubles.

👼 Once the young man comes to realize that his obsession has gone pretty far to the point of not being able to go back, he grows very possessive. I'd say he's smart enough to realize that his feelings are not something you'd view as normal nor would most people but he's quite apathetic about it. There's even this sick curiosity to see how this will turn out for both him and you as he's never felt quite that strongly about someone before besides maybe Akira. It's decided then and there though that he won't leave your life again. You bump into him even more than before as the man tries his best to weasle his way into your life, not even above sabotaging your relationship with others in order to get closer to you. He could definitely be cunning enough to hide the greater damage he inflicts on your social life and he does so at times for the sake of appearing more trustworthy in your eyes, sometimes he doesn't seem to care if you know though. He can't deny that he's a bit curious to see if you would be capable of still feeling affection for his true self.

👼 Ryo is confident about himself so I'd wager he's less jealous and instead more possessive about it all. He's definitely the type of Yandere who would love nothing more than have his darling all to himself and he looks quite literally down on everyone you interact with. He's unable to understand their appeal and he's not shy to speak his mind out which is a guarantee to insult whoever you're talking to at the moment. At one point he even spreads rumors that you two are dating and suddenly everyone you hang around with asks you about your boyfriend. You deny it obviously but as soon as he pops up, he's acting more affectionate and denies your cries of outrage of protest as shyness. Even without those rumors people avoid you due to the sheer unnerving eccentricity of Ryo as he makes almost everyone uncomfortable, including you.

👼 His possessive side is already quite bad as he drives away and scares all possibly competition he could have but his generally all but sane behavior makes it all even worse. Ryo is willing to kill everyone and manipulate your entire life if it means that he can keep you. He's fully aware that you'll end up being terrified but he doesn't care as long as he still gets to keep you. He doesn't shy away from killing people nor does he shy away from killing people. Interestingly enough there are times where he drags you willingly into danger only to come and save you at the last minute to force you to rely on him and trust him a bit more although he makes sure that situation can never escalate to the point where you get severely injured though. If you think that this is already quite cruel just wait until He's reverted back to being Satan where he becomes even more uncaring as long as he can keep you.

👼 Ryo is never quite sure whether he wants to imprison you or let you wander around outside although you're still the farthest thing from being free since he always watches you and has even trackers installed on you. So you kind of switch back and forth and it all seriously just depends on his mood. Sometimes he's more curious and wants to observe you in which case you're left to go on outside and do your daily tasks, as good as you can whilst being fully aware of his presence, at other times you're stuck in his expensive mansion where Psycho Jenny keeps an eye out over you when Ryo is busy and feels more possessive. After the destruction of humanity and after revealing his true identity as Satan, he constantly keeps you with him though, especially if we're talking about the scenario where Akira has died on him in which case Satan would be quite devastated and more paranoid to keep you close.

👼 What can be said for sure though is that you have never really a peaceful moment around Ryo. He's always there in your life and always rises some ruckus inside of it to watch in entertainment how you handle the situation at hand. It's quite disturbing how openly he talks with you about his feelings and the things he tends to do in a somewhat giddy tone since he never tells anyone else about it. He fully acknowledges that he makes awful choices in his life and harms and hurts others by doing so but it's all done for his own goals in mind and you just happen to be one goal of his. Once he becomes Satan, his obsession sort of grows as his darling is by that point pretty much the only human alive and his desire to keep them safe and with him only worsens. Akira's death influences that only more as he realizes how much he loved him and cared about him and in return only holds tighter onto you.

When dumped:

•Even if the relationship was short (3 days or less) he'll still mourn it weeks after both due to inexperience, rushing into relationships and valuing gestures more than stability.

• Cali in his first relationship he didn't actually care who his partner was, he was just excited to woo them with Hollywood gestures (fancy restaurants, jewelry and personal gifts, romantic getaways). His partner loved this at first but slowly became more exhausted and requested staying in instead of going through another of Cali's carefully thought out date nights. California misunderstood this entirely.

Freaking out that his partner had gotten bored of him (or saw him as unattractive), Cali began increasing the big romantic gestures with the assumption they'd get their happily ever after. His partner actually felt smothered with the final straw being when Cali suddenly suggested they move in with him without actually asking his partner if that's what they wanted.

Cali didn't give up and still tried to impress his now ex with extravagant gifts and public declarations of love which only gave his partner second hand embarrassment. Cali stopped after his ex got a new boyfriend. After months of silence Cali began working on his perception of relationships and decreased the quantity of gestures in future relationships, but this didn't fix his main issue of comparing real life to Hollywood and not getting to know his partners first.

•This leads to his partners usually ghosting him when he gets too clingy.

•His worst relationship according to the other states was this guy who clearly didn't like Cali and used him for clout and the gifts. They were completely obnoxious and demanding to the point even Florida wad concerned but Cali kept insisting he was fine. The turning point was when the states found out he was deleting birthday messages on California's phone without him knowing to make it look like only they remembered California's birthday. They confronted Cali who didn't believe them, thinking the other states were playing a cruel joke on him and were trying to stomp on anything that makes Cali happy.

The states had a vote to determine how to split them up. Eventually, asking Gov to look into this guy's past and blackmail them. Gov was reluctant at first but during a night at the statehouse he saw just how miserable and paranoid California had become.

To California's knowledge, that guy was just one of many partners who ghosted him... To the states it's both the cruelest and kindest thing they've ever done to Cali.

California never questioned why the States were so kind to him after that breakup.

When dumping his partners:

•He prides himself that he's never broken up with anyone- as most of the states pointed out it's not a good thing given his terrible standards.

•California preaches veganism and healthy eating, however he secretly binge eats when states aren't looking. This is followed by an extreme amount of guilt and purging.

•This also coincides with his break ups as he assumes that all his partners eventually get bored of him and subsequently thinks he needs to be skinnier to make up for it. This is also what made Gov change his mind on the State's breakup plan.

•Florida was the first person to discover this. When he was staying with Cali, Florida would go to the kitchen for a midnight snack. He kept finding Cali eating from a secret stash of junk food and (not fully understanding the severity of the situation) Florida teases Cali for being a hypocrite. This made California feel worse and he stopped eating for the remainder of Florida's stay, throwing away any of the junk food he kept.

Florida realised on the last day when he saw Cali with thin hair, desperately chewing a candy wrapper, unable to fully move from exhaustion.

Not knowing how to properly help the situation Florida brought Cali a gift basket to share of all Florida's favourite foods as a "thank you" for letting him stay over and promised Cali he wouldn't tell the other states about his "cheat day" mistaking Cali's eating disorders for a break in a diet. Florida genuinely thought this helped, unknown to him most of that food was vomitted the moment he left.

•Florida didn't keep his mouth shut for long and one night made fun of Cali to Loui about California being a hypocrite. Loui was more concerned and ended up checking in on Cali. When his suspicions were confirmed he told some of the other states who staged an intervention.

•California is currently going through recovery but has shown signs of relapse but this time the states are aware of his symptoms.
