The M26 Pershing is a heavy tank/medium tank formerly used by the United States Army. It was used in the last months of World War II during the Invasion of Germany and extensively during the Korean War. The tank was named after General of the Armies John J. Pershing, who led the American Expeditionary Force in Europe in World War I.

It was withdrawn in 1951 in favor of its improved derivative, the M46 Patton, which had a more powerful and reliable engine and advanced suspension. The lineage of the M26 continued with the M47 Patton, and was reflected in the new designs of the later M48 Patton and M60 Patton.

one part of me understands the need for good storytelling, 3 dimensional characters and connecting the show to it’s saga counterpart.

but the other part just wants to see din

really have to hand it to The Mandalorian and Andor for clearly showing us what a soul-sucking office job looks like in the galaxy far far away, without explaining what they do. it's all communicated by nailing the vibe and aesthetic of a corporatized cubicle workplace rather than boring exposition.

like, we have no idea what Dr. Pershing / Syril Karn are actually doing other than it involves some form of data entry, but we know for a fact they have a coworker who says the Coruscanti version of TGIF (which is probably “thank the Force it's Bergborp” or whatever)

Pershing and Bo-Katan are the converts. 

Both are redeemed in the eyes of the system are in. They are being good: Pershing is doing ted talks, Bo-Katan is saving foundlings, then they want to rediscover themselves by thinking outside of the box: Pershing wants to continue his research and Bo-Katan claims to have seen the Mythosaur. 

And what the system does? Deny it to them. 

New Republic says “No.” to Pershing and The Armorer says “These are just hallucinations.” to Bo-Katan. 

Pershing tries to continue his research, but he has his mind erased. 

So if the parallels continue, Bo-Katan will try to find the Mythosaur again and someone, in some way, will try to shut her down. 

Because they both believe more in what the systems claim to believe more than the system itself.

What do you think of Bad batch episode pabu? Thinking there setting up a possible romantic with Tech and Phee. Mandalorian episode Convert was also good. Seem the Republic is just making the same mistake as before and are sometimes just as dark as the empire. Seeing Pershing again was good.

It was an enjoyable episode! Very relaxed compared to how they normally go, even with the tsunami at the end. I'm glad that Omega was able to find a friend, and that Tech might be getting himself a relationship...

Of course, I have no doubts something will come along to muck things up. They won't just get to stay on Pabu.

As for The Mandalorian, it was... interesting. I wasn't expecting Bo-Katan to join up with the Covert, even if it's for a limited amount of time, but I'm not gonna complain about it. I'm very happy Din was able to be welcomed back, though I'm not sure where they plan on taking the season from here. I'd always thought Din's redemption would be a longer-term thing.

The Coruscant side of things... on the one hand, I very much like the idea of showing off the dark side of the New Republic, even though it breaks my heart to see them fall into all the same mistakes of the original Republic after everything the Rebellion fought for. On the other hand, it kinda dragged on in my opinion. The beginning and the end were both engaging, but the middle parts just went on way too long, to a point where I was seriously getting bored. I wish there could've been something to break up the Coruscant story, to give us a break every now and then.

I feel bad for Pershing. He was an idiot in this episode, but that doesn't mean he deserves what Elia did to him. I'm still not sure what her deal is. When Pershing was arrested I thought she turned him in for extra privileges from the NR, but at the end, when she basically melted his brain, that speaks of some darker motivations. I get the feeling she's still loyal to the Empire, and somehow what she's doing is helping them. Or maybe she just wanted to punish someone who genuinely wanted to help the New Republic. Could go either way.

Best of 2023 TV Shows #7: The Mandalorian (Disney+)

It hasn’t been easy for Disney this year. 100 Years and a centennial going by with a whimper.

That even applied to the 3rd Chapter of its signature streaming series, while not as great as its first 2 outings still manages to have enjoyable enough moments.

Life goes on for Mando, after Grogu rejoins him and his smaller Naboo N1, they set out on a return trip to Mandalore.

Having been told to bathe in the waters by the armorer, he ends up being joined by Bo Karan after she loses her squad.

Together the two would use the darksaber to seek the clans and return to their ancestral homeland, all the while a familiar shadow and a slowly forming different one would begin to emerge.

To get this out of the way, this season was really not good.

Don’t know if it’s cause part of it was put Into another series, the lack of Pedro Pascal besides VA. Or the shark jumping moment of Jack Black and Lizzo as married couple ruling a planet.

But other than the finale and Bo Katans whole season arc this just feels like it was only spinning the wheels of what looked already concluded.

The only saving factors belongs with Katee Sackhoff elevating her character with greater depth than we even saw with Clone Wars and Rebels.

Along with redemption for one of Star Wars most infamous fandom attacks before the sequel trilogy.

But for setup this still was enhancing.

SUM 22: Mando Season 3 ended up being a little less than what we’re expecting, but is good thanks to Bo Katan and Kelleran Beq.
