Gideon Taaffe and Charis Hoard at MMFA:
Instead of celebrating the rising influence of women’s basketball, right-wing media seized on the highly anticipated draft to attack the WNBA and dismiss the low wages of some of basketball’s biggest stars. After a historic women’s NCAA tournament, the Women’s National Basketball Association draft drew substantial media attention both praising the rising influence of the league and criticizing the low wages of the league’s stars. Right-wing media chose to denigrate the sport and its players rather than engage with critiques of how women athletes are treated.
With the WNBA's popularity surging due to several college megastars such as Caitlin Clark being drafted, right-wing media launched unhinged sexist attacks against the league (and women's sports in general). These same people attacking the WNBA and women's sports launch attacks against trans women participating in women's sports under the purported guise of "saving women's sports."

Courtney Hagle at MMFA:
In an October 18 interview with Donald Trump, Fox host George “Tyrus” Murdoch praised the former president for chartering a plane for the late South Africa President Nelson Mandela in the 1990s, adding that it’s “hard” for Trump to “talk about the good things you’ve done.” Some others in conservative media joined in, suggesting that Trump assisted Mandela for the sake of generosity and goodwill. In reality, as Washington Post columnist Glenn Kessler explained, the plane chartered for Mandela was not Trump’s personal private jet but a Boeing 727 from Trump Shuttle, “an airline that Trump briefly owned before it was essentially seized by the banks because he failed to make payments on his loans.” Kessler noted that Mandela was charged $130,000 to use the plane by Trump Shuttle, which was already in financial trouble and was preparing to be sold. Speaking to Trump in an OutKick interview titled “Manhood is under ATTACK!” Tyrus said Mandela “was trying to come to the United States. The United States government wasn’t helping him, no one was helping him. You chartered a 727 plane for the entire trip. … Why is it hard for you to talk about the things you've done?” Trump responded humbly: “I love doing it. I don't need praise for it.”
[...] Some right-wing media joined in, lauding Trump’s generosity after the Trump campaign pushed the clip.
During Friday’s interview with Tyrus on Outkick’s Maintaining With Tyrus, Donald Trump claimed to charter a plane for Nelson Mandela for the sake of generosity and goodwill… but in reality, Mandela was charged $130,000 for using the Trump Shuttle.

Alyssa Tirrell at MMFA:
Four competitors have forfeited matches against San Jose State University's women's volleyball team this season. While none of the teams have confirmed the reason for their forfeits, the decisions seem to have been motivated by right-wing media claims that a San Jose athlete is transgender. The forfeits have become the latest rallying cry for OutKick host Riley Gaines in her efforts to bar trans women from competition. Right-wing media claims that San Jose State University volleyball player Blaire Fleming is trans began in April with a report from Reduxx. The report investigated Fleming's online and athletic record, attempting to determine when Fleming had transitioned and claiming that she had moved from North Carolina to avoid that state's recent restrictions on trans athletes. After publishing Fleming's alleged deadname in the opening sentence, Reduxx continued to misgender her throughout.
The following week saw several right-wing outlets — including OutKick, Breitbart, and Fox News — parrot Reduxx's claims, consistently deadnaming and misgendering Fleming as well. While Fleming has played in the NCAA Division I for three seasons, first at Coastal Carolina University and subsequently at San Jose, she “has never made any public statement regarding her gender identity.” Regardless, the NCAA does not unilaterally bar trans players from competition, instead opting for a “sport-by-sport approach” that “preserves opportunity for transgender student-athletes while balancing fairness, inclusion and safety for all who compete.” The organization's Transgender Student Participation Policy for this year shows that trans women who comply with USA Volleyball regulations can compete in the division. As the fall season began this September, right-wing media revived speculation about Fleming's gender identity, alleging that she possessed an unfair advantage and posed a safety risk to other athletes. Gaines' home outlet OutKick published several articles asserting such claims, and Gaines herself was quoted as an expert in other coverage of the issue.
[...] Allegations about Fleming’s identity were further inflamed when her teammate and former roommate joined a class action lawsuit against the NCAA seeking to bar trans women from competition. The suit, spearheaded by Gaines and the Independent Council on Women's Sports (sometimes referred to as “ICONS”), echoed in court filings what right-wing media had been alleging about Fleming's identity in the press. Gaines and ICONS then sent a letter to the Mountain West Conference urging more teams to forfeit matches against San Jose State in protest of Fleming's inclusion. The letter was published as an exclusive at OutKick and has been followed by three additional forfeits — by Boise State, University of Wyoming, and Utah State University — all of which have been praised by Gaines.
Gaines has continued to urge upcoming competitors to forfeit their matches against San Jose, even indicating that she would pay athletes who refuse to play. In February of this year, Gaines apparently compensated a billiards player under the same terms, and she has since praised those who have boycotted trans inclusion.
[...] More recently, Gaines released a scorecard evaluating candidates’ positions on trans inclusion in women's sports.
Anti-trans extremist Outkick contributor Riley “5th Place Crybaby” Gaines’s crusade causing at least 5 teams to forfeit games against San José State University’s women’s volleyball team over the alleged trans player is pure sore loser transphobia.

San Jose State University (SJSU) has suspended an assistant volleyball coach indefinitely for speaking out against the inclusion of transgender player Blaire Fleming on the team’s roster, according to OutKick.
“The associate head coach of the San Jose State University women’s volleyball team is not with the team at this time, and we will not provide further information on this matter,” the school said in a statement to OutKick.
The suspension follows a tumultuous week in which assistant coach Melissa Batie-Smoose took public and legal action against the school by filing a Title IX complaint and giving an interview in which she lamented the toxic culture created by the school’s aggressively enforced trans-inclusion policy.
At the heart of the Title IX complaint, in a report obtained by Quilette, is an allegation from Batie-Smoose that Fleming, the transgender player, and another teammate engaged in a conspiracy to help San Jose State lose a match and injure SJSU player Brooke Slusser.
Slusser is a member of women’s sports advocate Riley Gaines’ Title IX suit against the NCAA that accuses SJSU of deliberately covering up the fact that Fleming was a male.
Specifically, Batie-Smoose alleges Fleming and another teammate violated team rules by leaving their hotel on October 3 to meet with Colorado State player Malaya Jones. During this meeting, Fleming and the unnamed SJSU player gave Jones scouting reports on their team, and Fleming agreed that he would not block any shots from Colorado State directed at Slusser.
Quilette reports that Batie-Smoose became aware of the plot after the unnamed SJSU player confessed it to her.
The early October matchup between SJSU and Colorado State was the first game after Slusser’s first critical public statement against Fleming on September 30.
The timing of Slusser’s statement and the date of the conspiratorial meeting involving Fleming and the Colorado State player led Batie-Smoose to conclude the plot was a direct retaliation for speaking out against the transgender player.
The Mountain West Conference says it is aware of the allegations, “reviewing the document, and has initiated an investigation to gather all the facts.”
The allegations against Fleming are as explosive as they are serious. If proven, it’s unimaginable that he would be allowed to continue to play for SJSU.
This should shock no one. The whole business where adult males are allowed to pummel REAL female athletes while breaking all the Women's records is about nothing but cheating. This needs to be stopped and all the TRANS records abolished from the athletic record.

Payton Armstrong at MMFA:
Fox host Jesse Watters invited a streamer known for pushing misogyny and anti-Black hate on his show to discuss the July 29 “White Dudes for Harris” event, organized to support likely Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris' campaign. During the interview, Sotomayor — who has previously said that women “should not have the right to vote” and that “women, other than s3x and having children, are worthless people” — told Watters, “Vote this woman [Harris] in and get yourself not a chicken in every pot, but a Black chick in every house.”
Sotomayor, who is reportedly a men’s rights activist, has a public record of pushing sexist and anti-Black rhetoric, particularly toward Black women. Sotomayor previously appeared on the podcast of Proud Boys founder Gavin McInnes, where Sotomayor relentlessly demonized Black mothers and agreed with McInnes that Black women are more prone to violence. He has also compared Black women to “rabid dogs,” declared that women “should not have the right to vote,” and that “women, other than s3x and having children, are worthless people.”
Sotomayor also has a history of pushing antisemitism, including seemingly questioning the Holocaust during a recent interview. Additionally, in 2015, he appeared on former Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard David Duke’s podcast to discuss “the destruction of the Black community due to the cultural pollution that is being spewed out by the Jewish media elite.”
[...] Sotomayor’s recent presence on Fox properties extends beyond Watters’ show, as he has also recently appeared on Tomi Lahren’s program — which streams on Fox Nation and Fox corp.-owned Outkick — and discussed Juneteenth and outrage over the Paris Olympics opening ceremony.
On Monday’s edition of Jesse Watters Primetime, serial misogynist Tommy Sotomayor used sexist tropes to demean Kamala Harris.

Brooke Slusser was threatened for speaking the truth
By Anna Slatz October 3, 2024
Tonight’s women’s volleyball match between San Jose State University and Colorado State University will be monitored by droves of armed police after one of the San Jose players received a chilling death threat. The threat is believed to be a direct response to Brooke Slusser’s support for single-sex sports.
On September 24, OutKick reported that Slusser had signed onto a lawsuit against the NCAA for allowing males to compete in women’s collegiate sports. The suit, which is being backed by the Independent Council On Women’s Sports (ICONS), charges that the NCAA knowingly violated the federal statute which guarantees equal opportunity for men and women in college education and in sports.
The lawsuit has been joined by a list of notable female athletes, including 12-time All-American swimmer and OutKick host Riley Gaines, Olympian Reka Gyorgy, and two-time NCAA champion Kylee Alons.
Slusser, the starting setter and co-captain of the San Jose team, was the latest to join the suit, citing fairness and safety. The news was significant as Slusser is a teammate of Blaire Fleming, a trans-identified male previously exposed by Reduxx for attempting to conceal his biological sex from his teammates.
Prior to transferring to San Jose, Fleming was participating in women’s volleyball in South Carolina for Coastal Carolina University. He appears to have fled to California just before the Save Women’s Sports Bill became law in the state, which would have prohibited him from continuing to play on female teams.
Since the Reduxx exclusive, Fleming’s participation in women’s volleyball has been closely monitored and hotly contested. Over the past month, four college teams have forfeited matches against San Jose in apparent protest of Fleming’s presence. Three of these teams are from the Mountain West Conference, and their forfeitures may result in significant penalties.
In joining the lawsuit against the NCAA, Slusser revealed there was significant turmoil within the San Jose team itself regarding Fleming’s inclusion. In a recent interview with OutKick, Slusser said: “It’s crazy to say, but it was an easy decision for me to join because it’s something I truly believe in.”
She added that she had received a tremendous amount of support after joining the suit, and that the reception had been largely positive amongst her colleagues.
Brooke Slusser
“… 99% of it is just love and encouragement,” she said. “So, for me, it shows that I made the right decision to join. This is something that so many people do care about. It’s just that so many people are scared to talk about it.”
But while Slusser is being praised by many for her bravery, her outspoken support of single-sex sports has now also made her a target.
On October 2, a suspected threat against Slusser’s life was received by one of her teammates via Instagram. After being made aware of the threat, Slusser contacted police in Fort Collins, where she is presently staying ahead of tonight’s game against Colorado State University – one which is intended serve as the school’s “annual inclusive excellence game.”
Both San Jose University and Colorado State University were later informed about the threat against Slusser, and cooperated with Fort Collins Police to ensure the safety of the athletes.
Speaking to Reduxx, Slusser says there will be police escorting the athletes to and from their vehicles, locker rooms, and the gym. There will also be metal detectors installed at the entrance points, and armed officers will be present at the game in order to ensure the safety of everyone in attendance.
“After being shown the threat, it was a very uneasy feeling. Just because everything else that I’ve gotten so far – if it’s not in support of me – is just… hate mail, basically. Just people behind their screens saying hateful things that don’t mean anything to me,” Slusser said. “But reading that, it sent chills through me at first, just because that’s someone threatening to physically harm me.”
Though Slusser admits the attention she has received since joining the NCAA lawsuit can be overwhelming, she says she is steadfast in decision and undeterred by the threat.
“It’s not something I am stressing about or anxious about because it’s the right thing to do,” Slusser told Reduxx. “To my core I believe this is the right thing to do, and I think a lot of people agree with that. So it’s just dealing with the ebb and flow of how this situation is going to play out.”
Speaking to Reduxx on the threat received by Slusser, ICONS representative Marshi Smith slammed the NCAA for failing to protect female athletes.
“The NCAA must immediately eliminate male athletes from women’s teams and competitions. Collegiate female athletes are being placed in stressful, contentious, and increasingly threatening situations because both the Mountain West Conference and the NCAA have failed in their duty to protect female athletes from dangers both on and now off the court,” Smith said.
“We strongly condemn the threats against Brooke Slusser and call on the NCAA to take immediate, decisive action to end this madness. The safety and wellbeing of NCAA athletes cannot be compromised for even one more day.”
#Brooke Slusser is brave#Just the Be Kind crowd showing everything but kindness to a woman who dared voice an opinion they/thems/whatevers don't like#San Jose State University#Colorado State University#women’s volleyball#Save Women’s Sports Bill#Title IX#How oppressed is he if he was able to move all the way across the country to play college sports?

This writer is Australian. As much as she loves to claim she's the whatever of the music industry, it's lovely to know that people really aren't just buying the bullshit she's putting out there. It's just her impressionable young fans in America who are the worst.

No wonder GR doesn't want to be papped standing next to Blake. He posted a picture with a pro tennis player who is Blake's height and he looks real teeny tiny. Add in Blake's manly aura and it would destroy him.
Just because I already had this pic up because I was showing it to someone, and then I got this ask and it seemed like the pic was meant for the ask, I’ll post a pic of GR 🤢. GR put that pic of himself out into the world himself with some of his vomity lyrics.
Blake’s pic is from GC and was around the same time as GRs pic. Everyone who thinks Blake outkicked his coverage with Gwen should remember, Gwen traded up in a major way herself.
But I’ll also post a pic of matching Blake and Gwen as a cleanse. I apologize in advance for the scars the GR pic may cause. He does actually have worse pics believe it or not.
GR’s pic is before the suspected new hair plugs and the neck and face work.
