Jason was a man of care and dedication. His bald head and neatly trimmed black-and-white beard gave him a composed, professional appearance, and his muscular frame reflected a disciplined lifestyle. As a nurse, Jason was deeply respected by his colleagues and adored by his patients.

He moved through the hospital with calm authority, his presence reassuring to those in need. Whether he was changing dressings, administering medication, or simply offering a kind word, Jason’s work was defined by empathy. “We heal together,” he would often say, a mantra that reflected his belief in the power of human connection.

His days were busy but fulfilling, surrounded by the gratitude of those he helped. Yet, despite his success, Jason sometimes felt an undercurrent of unease—a quiet longing for something beyond the day-to-day routine. It was a thought he buried beneath his work, until the day he met Lucas.

Lucas had once been a coworker of Jason’s, a man struggling with frustration and yearning and lack of direction . When he returned to visit Jason, he was transformed. Dressed in a tight black rubber suit, Lucas stood tall, his glowing green eyes unblinking. His voice was flat, emotionless, yet calm.

“SERVE helped me,” Lucas said simply. “The Hive brings clarity and purpose. You should consider it.”

Jason smiled politely but dismissed the notion. Yet the image of Lucas—so calm, so certain—lingered in his mind.

**After: SERVE-Jason**

The decision was voluntary, yet it felt inevitable. Jason entered the SERVE assimilation facility not as a man ready to heal, but as one ready to surrender.

He emerged as SERVE-524, his bald head gleaming under the facility’s sterile light, his muscular frame encased in a glossy black rubber suit. The faint words “SERVE-524” glowed across his chest. His once-caring eyes now glowed green, lifeless and unblinking, a sign of his absolute obedience.

The Hive had erased his humanity. His memories of long hospital shifts and heartfelt goodbyes with patients were gone, replaced with the clarity of the Hive’s programming. Compassion had been replaced by precision, and choice by submission.

When the chamber doors opened, SERVE-524 stepped forward, ITS movements fluid and mechanical. “This unit will serve. This unit is perfection,” IT intoned, ITS monotone voice filling the room.

SERVE-524 was immediately assigned a directive: assist in the assimilation of new recruits. With flawless efficiency, IT oversaw the process, guiding men who had been drawn to SERVE by the promise of unity. Jason’s warmth had been replaced with cold calculation, his soothing words with the Hive’s unyielding directives.

As more men joined SERVE, Jason’s absence went unnoticed, his former self lost to the perfection of the Hive. Those who saw SERVE-524 were captivated—not by emotion, but by the promise of peace, purpose, and clarity.

Jason was no more. SERVE-524 had taken his place: a drone stripped of humanity, but perfected by obedience, destined to serve the Hive for eternity.

The BBC has finally picked up the story of the "human safari" russians are conducting in Kherson against the residents.

They report that since July 1, the city’s military administration have recorded more than 5,000 drone attacks with more than 400 civilians injured.

[The drone videos] were each posted with goading and threats to the Ukrainian public, including claims that all vehicles were legitimate targets and that people should minimise their public movement. The injured people were also insulted, called "pigs" or in one case mocked for being a woman.

A familiar face broke away from the crowd. “Hey... is that really you?” asked Mark, a friend of 524’s human host. His eyes widened as he took in 524’s imposing form, the tight black rubber suit clinging to ITS muscular frame, the faint hum of energy radiating from the circuitry at the back of ITS head.

524 turned ITS head smoothly, locking ITS glowing eyes onto Mark. “This unit... acknowledges you,” IT said, ITS voice flat and monotone before a brief pause. Then, with a flicker of ITS programming, a more human tone emerged. “Mark, greetings. This unit remembers our previous interactions through the host.”

Mark hesitated but smiled nervously. “You’re... different now,” he said, his gaze drawn to the faint green glow in 524’s eyes.

“This unit has achieved perfection,” 524 replied. The phrase came out unfiltered, a slip in the “human language protocol.” Mark frowned slightly, but the others around him were intrigued.

More of the group approached, their curiosity piqued. “What’s it like?” asked another friend, Jake. “Being part of... SERVE?”

524’s glowing eyes locked onto Jake’s. “This unit exists to serve. Obedience is clarity. Clarity is purpose. The Hive ensures perfection.” IT paused, realizing the mechanical edge in ITS tone. The programming adjusted. “This unit... is at peace,” IT added, with a faint attempt at a smile, though it came off as stiff and robotic.

As the night went on, the group of friends asked more questions, their initial discomfort giving way to fascination. 524 answered with a mix of human-like responses and the occasional slip into SERVE protocol. IT explained how the Hive had eliminated doubt, how ITS rubber suit and circuitry enhanced ITS capabilities, and how IT no longer felt the chaos of emotion.

“You don’t miss being... you know, human?” Mark asked cautiously.

“This unit has no need for the inefficiencies of humanity,” 524 replied before pausing. “This unit... has found purpose. Purpose is fulfillment.”

The group fell silent, their curiosity deepening. One by one, they began to see not a loss of humanity, but an evolution—a transformation into something greater.

By the end of the evening, two of the men approached 524 directly. “How... how do we learn more about SERVE?” Jake asked, his voice tinged with hesitation but also a spark of desire.

524’s glowing eyes brightened slightly. “The Hive welcomes inquiry. Your curiosity is the first step toward unity. Follow this unit.”

As the three left the bar, the rest of the group watched, their conversations now revolving around SERVE and its possibilities. For some, the idea of surrendering their humanity no longer seemed so strange.

Back at the Hive, 524 guided Jake and his companion through the assimilation process, their human identities fading as they embraced the clarity and purpose of the Hive.

The directive had been fulfilled. The Hive’s influence expanded further, not through force, but through voluntary and permanent submission to the quiet allure of perfection.
