oou! good question!

yes! that is definitely a scenario i would like to explore in the fic when i get to it. also why i want to write the fic with multiple different Y/Ns so we can explore different experiences and relationships with food

there is a "main Y/N" who is a glutton who likes to try anything and everything. i haven't done the research for it so i can't say whether or not they have an eating disorder, but they DO have an unhealthy relationship with food as a result of being shamed for their appetite. so that, coupled with their job that emphasizes appearances and first impressions, they eat smaller meals, seemingly healthier meals, safe meals. but when they're alone at the restaurant with the DCA boys, without having to worry about who sees them or how much they eat, they're able to enjoy their food openly and honour their body's cravings.

since when and where along the way, us as humans, the most emotional animals, have grown so desensitized to the point we need to bring up someone’s connection to others to feel an ounce of sympathy? “someone’s mother/father/husband/sister etc etc” no. you are your own person, they are their own person, why do we need to tie someone’s worth to someone they are connected with? you are born to this world as your own person and were gifted with your own name, is that not enough to deserve kindness from others? do you not deserve kindness by simply being born?

i do always have new year's eve plans every year like i always leave my apartment. but. before you recalibrate your internal conception of me. let me just say. the plans are to play board games with a middle-aged couple and their daughter. and sometimes we bake or sew. it's really fun and they feed me well and that's exactly what i'm looking for.

The most interesting thing about Martha & Thomas Wayne's deaths is that it was always meant to be a wrong place at the wrong time kind of situation. And in that, even elite members of society like the Wayne's cannot get justice in a system this corrupt. It builds the origin story of Batman that they just happened to go through a specific alleyway and the horrors of the world still hit them in death and beyond.

Batman might be a large figure now, but he put on the suit to prevent tragedies that little boys like him faced just because they happened to exist around bad people and a corrupt system.

COMPLETELY CHANGING THE BACKSTORY is a fascinating concept in fanfiction but in canon just derails everything that made Batman the superhero that people know and love today.

Annual reminder that Aang wasn't a terrible dad, that one episode was badly written and had poor perspective. Aang was a busy, working dad who had a lot of stuff to do, and then suddenly his third kid was a full-on Airbender and he was literally the only one qualified to teach this baby, so then he finally had an excuse to put his family before his duties ("My family IS my duty now, suckers!!!"), and so Kya and Bumi were all "What the heck, Dad???" because they were now teens (iirc) and they missed out on all that stuff.

It was basically Aang going from "my family has 20% of my time" to "my family has 40% of my time". Still not enough, probably, but Aang could finally go and explore his own culture without feeling guilty about leaving the rest of the world to fend for itself.
