A year was not so long after all. He prepared her for the day when he would leave. But when the moment came, he found himself less prepared than she. For the first time in his life, Spock thought about returning from a mission, wondered whether or not he would survive. She had no one else, and that was a disturbing thought.

Back on board the Enterprise, he opened his case to unpack his few belongings and found things not quite as he’d left them. Tucked in at the bottom under all the folded clothes, Saavik had hidden away her knife. Spock stood in the privacy of his cabin turning it in his hand, remembering every word of their good-bye.

Soooo- I have a new little lore idea for my Agent/Captain 3 (Adam) which is that he actually shared the position with his twin sister Gen (or Jennifer but I don't wanna keep typing that lol) The new lore ideas about this below-

Okay so Adam and Gen both joined the NSS together with Adam as 3 and Gen as 3.5, the pair both did it due to wanting to help though they both have their own reasons as well. Adam joined because he wanted to be needed, be wanted unlike at home... Gen joined to escape their strict home life (she was the golden child but their parents were still very strict with her)

Adam was the reckless one and Gen the calm collected one. However despite being a bit of a loose canon, Adam was actually the better of the two as an agent (which he was over joyed by since this is the first thing he's better at than Gen) this did frustrate Gen a bit since she was used to being the better one.

Gen ends up leaving the NSS after the events of Octo Expansion. Gen was not present down in the Metro, only Adam ended up down there. Adam returning to the surface, completely covered in scars and half blinded gave Gen basically a wake up call that she didn't want to do this- she couldn't do it-

For a long time Gen blamed Cuttlefish and Eight for what happened (which didn't help Eight's insecurities) and she even went so far as to then blame Callie and Marie for everything as well. Her anger towards the NSS got worse upon learning her and Adams little sister Camri was in fact Agent 4. Gen tried her hardest to get Adam and Camri to leave but Adam refused and in the end so did Camri (she stayed to keep an eye on her older brother) but this whole incident caused a massive rift between Gen and Adam.

The pair still have a rocky relationship, both thinking they are in the right and not quite understanding the others pov. They were once thick as thieves and now they can barely look the other in the eye.
