While learning how to create custom skintone for Sims 4 realized my favorite actor from childhood has only lame ass quality photos T___T Nothing even close to be skinned from. Had to paint his skin from scratch manually. I think my hand is gonna fell off soon XD But I'm going there! I'm going there!

Aww, thank you so much for your kind words! Your message made my day warmer^^ The situation in Ukraine is... tough. And, alas, no matter how strong I think of myself, constant stress affected my health. But, I'm not giving up! Right now I'm going through a therapy, do meds, all that stuff. Stress is real and health is important, so no matter what, guys - do not be afraid to have an appointment with your doctor;) Also... I have another kitten!

Hi, I hope this question is fine! I adore the black male sim you made for the Pretty Pit sideburns and I wanted to know if he is based on an actor, and whom. I hope you have a wonderful day, your creations are AMAZING!

Aww, this is so sweet of you to ask! Thank you so much! Well Answering to your question - No. Pretty Pit / Tommy Gun sim isn't based on any actor. BUT. When I was creating him I was kind of thinking about the Prince. Not that I wanted to recreate the Prince, just give my sim same kind of vibe.

P.S. I know very little about Prince and his music, but I once saw this clip and found it super inspiring! So yeah... That's how Pretty Pit / Tommy Gun was born ;D

Reasons why I stopped using Alpha hair for Sims 4

Alpha hair give your Sims character the most realistic look. It also looks detailed, natural and yes... very beautiful. That’s why most of us fell for it since Sims 2 :D

But alas! Unlike Sims 2 and Sims 3, Sims 4 wasn't designed for Alpha hair. Even after lots of amazing cc creators managed to provide us with many awesome Alpha hair content, it still, on my opinion, doesn’t fit Sims 4 as perfect as it should. 

Those of you who’re using G-Shade or ReShade know that Alpha hair may provide many issues with depth and blurring background features. 

But even if you don’t use ReShade on Ultra game settings Alpha hair might look a bit blurry in compare with the rest of the character. You'll have to uncheck post-processing effect in Graphic settings manually to get rid of the problem. Yet, it will turn off the nice background blurring too :(

Pre-made characters in the game will still wear Maxis Match hair. Now you’ll simply have to redo them all! :D Plus Alpha hair on your character will desire Alpha clothes and Alpha furniture, then Alpha environment, Alpha trees and Alpha bees for everything to be in same aesthetic and same vibes! 

Which is fine, but let’s look at the size of one Alpha hair. For some 48K Polygons might not be the problem. Alpha hair are usually go up to 50K and more, so these particular hair are not the heaviest one. Besides, I know some Maxis Match hair that can easily beat these numbers :D Still, most of the Alpha hair items are much more heavier than MM, because it demands lots of details. 

In conclusion, I may only say that everyone can decide for themselves whether they want or not to use Alpha hair in Sims 4. It has it’s plus and cons. As for me, I made the decision to sacrifice Alpha hair’s beauty for stable and fast game with nice G-shade effects;)

Are you named after anyone? My mom says I was named after some singer. Doesn’t matter, it’s a lame ordinary name I hate dearly since I was a kid:D I prefer Eugene^^

When was the last time you cried? Um... That was about a week ago. Another russian missile hit a shopping center in Kherson. Zelenskiy published unblurred photos on his Instagram. And well. I saw it. And cried. 

Do you have kids? I don't. And I don’t want to. 

Do you use sarcasm a lot? More than I wished to. Sarcasm it’s a sort of... mental protection. I want to be strong enough just to speak from my heart and don’t feel guilty for telling the plane truth. Plane and simple. Without walking around it with needles. 

What sports do you play/have you played? I practice QiGong, Yoga, a bit of Kung Fu and Tai Chi. And I really like it. I feel much healthier than five years ago when I just jogged from time to time. Does it count as a sport? :D 

What’s the first thing you notice about other people? How close they choose to stand by me. I don’t like people who doesn’t know what personal space is. 

Eye color? Blue

Scary movies or happy endings? Scary movies with happy ending!:D That’s why I like Asian Horror movies. They’re rarely plane and it’s quite common to find a horror movie with happy ending among them. Like say Dark Water. I believe this movie has the best ending for the main heroes. 

Any special talents? Mmm... I invent my own recipes for cooking. I like cooking btw :D

Where were you born? In Kryvyi Rih. The longest city of Ukraine. I still live there;)

What are your hobbies? Playing video games, writing silly stories with my sis, reading (Oh, I love reading), drawing, weaving with beads, cooking

A Year of War

This very day... A year ago we all woke up from the sounds of bombs. Somehow, very clearly, I remember the dream I had that night. I was dreaming about huge blood-red wave that was coming on us. People rushed to run from it, yet those who was too close to the shore disappeared under this horrible water when the wave crushed on them. I was lucky because stood too far from it. This dream was prophetic. Russian army came close to my city, yet didn't manage to conquer it. And, like in my dream, our first thought was to run. But then... When I actually started to gather my things I realized. I can't run. Where would I go? Ukraine is my home. I didn't want to be one of those on the run. I didn't want to be that stranger, that foreigner, that refugee. Somehow I knew I won't find peace running. I must face it no matter what. I must fight. So I stayed. But it's not my luck that keeps me safe - it's Ukrainian army I will always be grateful for. I also want to thank everyone who responded in the very first days of the war, helped me, donated me and support me still. I am truly gratitude to all of you. You're all amazing people. I wish you all to be safe and healthy. You were with me through bombs and blackout, and all the horrors. I can't say if it will be ended soon or what comes next. But I saw a dream about the beginning of this war, I also saw a dream about the end of it. And it was good end, because the tyrant was defeated.

Blackout in Ukraine

My dear kittens and puppies! 

I know I promised some of you to share Anakin Sim this month, but alas... The reality decided against it. As you may know, this Autumn russia began to bomb our civil infrastructure massively. Due to constant shelling our energetic system suffers a lot and we experience total blackout during days. Without electricity, water and heating. And we're expecting it to get much worse. Without doubt, this winter will be the hardest for Ukraine since the days of it's independence. 

That's why, I'm physically not able to share Anakin this month and I don't know if I have any opportunity to share him on December. Of course, I'll do the best I can to keep up updating my blog here and my Patreon, but you must understand if there will be long pauses between posts. Also, I would like to ask you not to demand sims from me in the private messages. During this winter (and probably till the end of this war) there's nothing I can do to give them away instantly. Sharing sims, alas, takes time,  internet, electricity and (no less importantly) my good spirit I might not have. 

I want to thank everyone who's supporting me during these dark times. Every dollar means a lot to me. On the money you so kindly donated, I managed to support my army, buy power banks, weekly dry food and water supplies and candles to keep me and my family alive. Bombs can still hit my house, though. But if you see a new post from Wistful Poltergeist - know that I'm still breathing.

I rarely do this. Talk about how things are going in my life. I know lots of people here on tumblr came in just to relax and watch nice pictures. They don’t want to hear about... bad things, about the war. But for me, as Ukrainian who stays and lives in Ukraine during the war, this is vital sometimes. Vital to tell that one day there will be no "nice pictures", no place to hide your head in, there will be no you even if you put the priority of comfortable silence above the voice against injustice.
