I think ao3 should have an audiobook feature. Like authors can choose to add audio versions of their fics attached to them for those who want to read with audio. The audiobooks can just be plain old text-to-speech generated readings like those that already exist as extensions, or the author can create their own.

I just think lots of people (myself included) would really benefit from something like while reading fics. Also i feel like it could even be an opportunity for fic authors to get creative with audio. Maybe add sound affects or even hidden lore in there who knows.

idk how feasible something like that would be and i don’t want something like this to damage the ao3 experience but idk this is just a thought i had.

Does anyone know of a way to force a memory limit on Firefox for Android?

All of the methods I've seen are only for desktop (mobile doesn't have about:config) or people saying that you should leave the memory management to the OS (clearly not helpful) or people complaining about slowness or storage space or browser crashes (irrelevant, clogging up search results) or confusing ram with internal storage (who even decided to call internal storage memory in the first place??? As if RAM didn't already mean random access MEMORY).

I'm getting sick of Firefox suddenly using up all of the RAM and causing my entire phone to hard crash and reboot 😭 (not just a tab or browser crash).

My phone's fairly old (I've gotta upgrade soon due to the 3g shutoff and lack of VOLTE support) but that's still a while away and it's only Firefox that's causing this to happen, everything else runs fine (plus I'd still like to use this thing even when I upgrade!). Can't mess about in root until I upgrade because this era of phone punishes you if you do (and I don't want to break something in there and be out of a phone for several months! Again!)

I'm ready to tear my hair out, I want to comfortably use Docs without staring into a flashbang, can someone recommend a functional dark mode for using google docs? All the extensions I've looked at just darken the page and makes the text unreadable so then the whole document has to be edited to change the font (pain in the ass) and/or does not function on the google docs selection page, like the list of my documents is still fuck off bright so it is irritating to move between documents

not sure if anyone else is equally as obsessed with trying to get site layouts to look like their "old" versions as i am but does anyone possibly have a way to get tumblr to look "old?" like, with the lines on the side of posts for the reblogs and the little triangle on the side that makes it look like a speech bubble and stuff, because ive seen extremely recent screenshots that have them like that but ive had no luck in finding an extension to make it look like that. ive seen old posts which indicate that xkit used to have a feature that made it look like that, but it doesnt seem to have that feature anymore. if anyone knows of anything please lmk bc ive been trying to get all the websites i frequent to look old (i use firefox btw if that helps anything)

TL;DR

The Honey browser extension not only makes money by poaching affiliate commissions from the very influencers it partners with, even when it doesn't find any coupons, it's guilty of straight-up fraud. It's advertised as scouring the internet to find the best coupons for a given site and when it doesn't find any, assures users that they already have the best price. But in actuality, it lies about there not being any coupons or better coupons than the ones it automatically applied for you, while selling itself to business that it partners with on the basis that it will get them more money by tricking shoppers into not looking for better coupons so they spend more money. The ending of this video seems to be teasing a part 2, but is already strongly implying that Honey also creates unauthorized discounts costing businesses it partners with (likely small independent operations) thousands of dollars in lost revenue.

finally got my new computer and made the move to firefox. there's only 4 things i liked more with opera gx so far and those are: 1) getting to have a wallpaper for a new tab 2) getting to see if any of the people i follow on twitch are live by just glancing to the sidebar (this one's not too bad but i did catch a lot of streams this way since twitch hates giving me notifs) 3) i could close all my tabs but the browser wouldn't close because of the gx corner and, 4) the gx corner. i like free games. a lot but hey if anyone's got good recommendations for ways i can replace these functions through extensions or whatever i'll gladly take em. im glad to not be using a chromium based browser anymore and really really don't wanna switch back

i do not understand why everyone says Firefox is so great on mobile

its one of the worst mobile browsers ive used

i keep seing people say 'oh its so fast, you can use all the extensions you need, everythinga so much smoother' and i dont know what version yall are using but that aint the case in my experience

for me i cant seem to save pictures, you have a very small selection of extensions to choose from, half the pages dont load, and the ones that do load dont work

theres so many times i tried to use firefox to download something and the page wont work, like the download button is unclickable or never shows up

then i use it in chrome and it goes right through

so idk if people are literally just saying it so people dont use chrome, understandable because chrome/Google are the worst, or if it just hates specifically me

but until the day it actually functions im stuck using chrome or whatever chrome equivalent if i ever find one that works better

Sadly I have a bad memory so I had to scroll through the takes I've screenshotted and sent to my friends to make fun of, and while I'd like to stress that this is from Forever ago, and that I do not remember who posted it or what the context was: one screenshot stated that after Barbara, Cass's healthiest relationship was with her father. Now, I don't know how exactly you'd have to manipulate to bracket to have David Cain be in the running for 'healthiest relationship with Cassandra Cain', but he'd still lose. Literally the entire batfam, including Bruce and Jason fucking Todd, has a healthier relationship with Cass than David Cain. Lady Shiva has a healthier relationship with Cass. I don't know if this is The Worst Take Ever but it's certainly up there.

8. common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about

I mean there are a Lot but everyone's heard the complaints about fanon fans' opinions by now so let's do a spicier one. I think it's weird that everyone (on the Deathstroke Hater side of the fandom) unanimously classifies Deathstroke as an abusive/bad dad to Joey and Grant prior to the throat cutting incident.

I'm sure there's canon that contradicts it (I've never read a Deathstroke solo ever because I think it'd be miserable) but in NTT he is literally textually a good dad prior to All That. And I recognize that this is because he's Wolfman's specialest little boy more than anything but I still think it's significantly more interesting for literally the entire Wilson family but especially Joey if Deathstroke was like, legitimately a pretty good dad right up until he weighed his son's life against his ego and found his son's life wanting. The whiplash between 'absent and doesn't quite get Joey but genuinely loving and trying' and 'lets his son's throat get cut for no good reason and then immediately tries to bail without visiting him in the hospital with the full expectancy that his wife will just take this' is really compelling to me. And there seems to be this universal acceptance that Deathstroke was a bad/abusive dad prior to All That and I just don't understand why people state that so confidently when at least one version of canon outright contradicts it.

That said anyone who considers Deathstroke a good or even mediocre dad is even more wrong because he did, in fact, do All That and also we haven't even talked about Rose Wilson so. L. So yeah everyone is wrong about Deathstroke's parenting capabilities except me.

Really wish there was a way to completely remove posts with certain blocked tags from your dash. Like blocking for triggers can only do so much when a mutual is having a hyperfixation moment and now your whole dash is blocked posts with your triggers listed over and over, eventually ruining the effect of blocking the tags and setting you off through just the words alone
